We get off to a good start with a stunning waterfall scene that's just dripping with autumn colours but Brent gets caught stealing. I mean I'm flattered but this is outrageous. It's a good thing we're friends.
No landscape photography adventure is complete without some challenges. We're up against the ravages of nature as we struggle to find colour after Hurricane Fiona rips through Nova Scotia, but we don't give up easily.
A surprise campground reveals a hidden gem with magical lake reflections but Brent gets ideas above his station when he tries to cadge a stay in the wobble wagon. My banana seat sees him off and he gets busy building his tent among the ticks.
Blue hour at the lake offers up a magical telephoto composition with the 100-400mm but is it too dark to focus? Sunrise at 'Salty Badger Pond' the following morning leaves us disappointed so we move further up the coast for some world class autumn reflections.
The problem is, I'm unwittingly becoming a real estate photographer. I simply can't resist those calming reflections with beautiful shacks and homes nestled amid the colourful trees.
What can Brent do with his tilt-shift lens and where is he going to stick that banana?
There's really only one way to find out.
Hit play, then hit like.

Great to see Brent! You guys are uniquely funny together, and I love to see you break character and laugh. Every shot was lovely! And to Brent's point, without a hurricane blowing leaves off the trees, things may be even prettier next year.
Brent is a perfect foil for your comedy show. And I do like your landscape reflections
yer that river was quite beautiful in its autumnal colours !!
That’s comp of the waterfall was bang on !! The rolling clouds at 9 min were superb and the old bit o real estate work would be a great addition to that homes wall !! Bravo
I'm jealous of the beautiful Fall color, in my area the colors fade & get blown away all too quickly. Thanks for sharing your Gorgeous images as always & hi Amanda!
I loved the reflection photo, those red, green and yellow leaves suspended above the water are superb. Thanks for those juicy images ;)
Wow Gavin, some stonkers there, the first and last image are just beautiful.
Stunning shot @3:30!! Love the colors in Brent’s shot!
That last frame is a stunner. Really interesting how there’s a natural vertical line in the frame caused by the colors and tree trunks
Oh wow, what stunning images! Brent seems like great fun to be around also - some hilarious moments in this episode!
Thanks for all your effort into the content on your channel - I don't comment often, but always enjoy your videos and photography.
Hope everything is going well with the renovation work and hope you both have a Merry Christmas 🙂
Seeing in the dark... 14:28... that shot is a nice calm peaceful fall colour extravaganza. Splashes of colour to lighten to draw the eye across the image. A comment I got recently with glass like lake conditions at sunset with trees alone the shoreline and a sunset sky was that the dark trees along the shoreline looked like a mascara brush with the trees mirrored in the lake.
Thanks for bringing Brent back to the show...his appearances are greatly appreciated! And yes, I agree with Brent, with him going to the east coast to see lovely Amanda...I mean who wouldn't?!😄😉
But I must say...those fall color images you took at the small creek, then at the lake...GORGEOUS! I am envious of those fall color conditions! I can surely imagine you offering fall color workshops (with Brent as photo assistant). Keep on shooting those images...you will have to publish a "Chasing Awe, Part II".
Great video Brent, love the original work. The Yorkshire lad is coming on nicely. In a few years, he'll be a full timer. :)

I certify this as expert testimony.
We just don’t have the fall colors in North Texas like this and I’m jealous!!!! When I was a lot younger I lived by the Shenandoah Valley and traveled there every year at fall with my family and my trusty Kodak Instamatic. I wish I could go there now with my Canon and spend a weekend. Thanks Gavin, Amanda, and Brent!!!! Bloody good stuff!!!!!!
Totally love that shot of the creek near the beginning of the video! Incredible shot! Looks like a painting!
So funny as always! Fabulous photography. Love you all and your humour!
That last shot of the house is lubbly. It almost looks like two shots stuck together thanks to the vertical alignment of trees and stuff near the centre of frame. And that shot in the stream definitely looked best as a 16:9. Gorgeous. 🦘🦘🦘
Aside from the wonderful levity of your banter, there were some real jewels in this video, sir! Of course the photos taken but some other areas that I will take away from this and put into immediate use. In fact, it's worth a purchase of "Chasing Awe"...and, I can't decide whether you love the book or your title, most..LOL . Great work!
Some grumpy backwoods drone stylee.
Gold leaf that first shot
Fantastic fall colors, Gavin; super happy to see Brent shooting with you. Someone said fall color extravaganza, and that is a perfect description.
Good job scouting, the waterfall image is lovely. Happy trails.
I love your accent and the tonal quality of your voice, especially when you explain the composition after taking the picture! 👍😇
I don't know how I missed this one. You took some magnifiqua photos. Truly trasmendous. Thanks for 4k on this one. It was worth it.
Great pics as usual. Actually better than usual. Brent must have given you some good pointers.
Just those two nipples of his 😬
It is amazing how much the yellow leaves add depth to the image of the tree. As always a great, informational and entertaining video.
How many takes were needed for the Brent's "Fuji get in touch" bit; I am guessing well into the 10s. Brilliant images, images in the chaos indeed. Cracking content as usual. Cheers Gavin
Another great vid with beautiful pics ! thanks Gav 😀
That last shot was my favorite! And Brent's were pretty sweet at the beginning. Nice haul!
Amazing to see the vast forests... The diversity of trees and colors are really breathtaking.
I love the mix of personas on your vids Gavin and frankly… what a collection of shots to come out of such light hearted entertainment. Great stuff!
Excellent photos once again and the banter between you and Brent was so funny📷👍🏼
Great shots Gavin. And great to see you and Brent together again, such a laugh nice one 👍
Beautiful colors and images. Fun video! Amanda deserves a bonus for her great video work in the truck while driving!
You’ve done it again! Moët autumnal shots that send shivers down my spine, superb images, thank you for sharing
Real comedians, the both of you. You can do standup at your next exhibition. Great work. Thanks for the video
alright going to give it to you this week, very nice haul, all around!!
Great video good to see Brent back.
The one with the house and the gull is fantastic!
Great video lots of fun that's what's so brilliant about your videos I love photography
You two guys have me in stitches 😂
Just stunning shots and wonderful colours.
I kinda needed to hear that… find the gem in the chaos, keep searching and you find it…I just moved to you’re old stomping ground of Vancouver island…
Lots to shoot there.
Fun video with nice images.
I have seen others use TS lenses for landscape. Used correctly they can provide nice results.
That lake reflection at night and the 'real estate' shot were awesome...oh and the waterfall at the beginning! Oh, I guess Brent's shot was...ok. 😂
Brilliant can not wait! You two are so funny 🤣🤣🤣 however I really don't know why Brent is your friend, I mean you made him sleep in a broken tent. Poor Canadian, he isn't used to the cold! 📷❤️🇨🇦
Is there any substitute for having the craic with a good mate? Loved the banter here, especially ^he's enjoying it in his tent now.". Brilliant !
Brent almost sounded like he knew what he was talking about. Most unusual for a fototripper video !
That's the thing with the Panobrentosaurus, they're really shifty characters. Don't tell him, but Clarence can be seen among the undergrowth in his shot...
Beautiful photos, those colours were truly magical. Loved this 😁👍
Gavin these were some wonderful images, and the music you picked was also great. Keep it up.
Awesome shots!!! I love the gull. I love all your images. I hope Brent was able to spend one night in the camper 😀
The rules cannot be broken!
@@fototripper Maybe if it rains? LOL
Great video guys beautiful photography and great crack what more could you ask for !! "get in your tent" new catchphrase. 😁
What great images Gavin. Looking forward to the next video with Brent.
We need to see a response to thomas heatons claim on your being smutty 🤣 also great vlog, incredible colours in that lake reflection shot.
OMG! Those autumn colours in those last 2 shots!!♥️♥️♥️. Something we don't have in Oz, unfortunately.
D'ya know, there's one thing I really need to stop doing when I've watched one of your videos Gavin, and that's looking at the photos stored on my hard drive and comparing them to yours! Either that, or I just need to 'up sticks' and move to Nova Scotia!😆
Well that depends on where you live now. Keep practicing, you'll get there.
Some of your best. Beautifully done
Loving the blue rinse
I enjoyed this video very much
Thanks for sharing
Sadly, I didn't get a lot of opportunities to capture the autumnal colors this year because of stuff going on in my life.
I was able to hit up a favourite spot after work one evening and got some great shots.
Just wish I had more time and less snow.
Some stunning shots on this one!
I just wowed all the way through the video, and laughed a lot. Beautiful shots from both of you!
Thank you!
Excellent really enjoyed, thanks
I’m jealous of those colors!
Brilliant, thank you.
Nice to see Amanda again. And, oh BTW, some nice photos, too. :)) :)) 🤣
Legend of Brent 🎉🎉🎉🎉 new RUclips channel the Gavin and Brent show 😉
Its great to see you and Brent out and about again.
You guys are having so much fun. Amazing what landscape photography can do
Great video as usual. The first photo in particular was absolutely stunning! Thanks for posting.
Wow, the last photo is a cracker. My perfect hideaway. Such a beautiful coloured scene. If the owners don't buy a copy of the photo, get that banana ready 😨
Too late. Brent enjoyed it...in his tent.
Brent and you at your best !😊 Superb waterfall shot
Beautiful shot
The chase is over - awesome capture with the estate agent (or should that be realtor?) shot @22:22.
Thanks for mentioning Kellogg's flipsides the other day. As a Canadian in Nova Scotia I didn't even know they existed. Now let's hope I don't snaccidently eat them all at once!
I apologize for your impending addiction.
@@fototripper😂😂😂 thanks
Wow - those autumn colours are amazing. So worth the chase around.
Thanks Denise :)
Fantastique episode and epic images as always! I’m currently on holiday in Thailand which soon comes to an end and what a better way of ending your holiday could be than having a cold beer on a beach watching sunset and watching fototripper at the same time!
Some really nice fall colors, Gavin. Making me want to come up there.
Great video as always! I always make a point to watch a video or three per week!! thanks for sharing all your experience.
Great photos, as always, and fun video. Cheers!
Last two photos are beautiful !!!
Salty!?! 😂😂
Glorious colours mate.
Thanks for putting Brent's Instagram address up for us.
How do you guys ever get a video completed... LOL proper mental. :)
keep it up
Yikes, Gavin! That first shot with the small cascade in the foreground is absolutely wonderful. Fantastic work.
Hi All, first photo I feel we have to be careful blurring moving water, which creates a fantasy effect, in a vary dynamic sharp Forrest scene. It works but it really needs to blend in. This effect seems to work better in seascapes. What brand of camera, 150 pixel, is that everyone is starting to use?
Omg I love this shot....
That water at 13 mins is amazing in that "dark' light 🙂
Great shots, Gavin. I notice you shoot at small apertures. Any issues with diffraction?
It's not something I worry about until I'm shooting at f/22.
A tilt-shift lens is my go-to lens for panos. I use a 24mmTS on a FF camera. It gives me a 100 degree angle of view equivalent to a 15mm lens but with a 61% megapixel increase and best of all no distortion. If you combine the lens rotation your resolution goes way up and the cropping options expand greatly. Absolutely love it.
That be the Canon?
@@fototripper Yep. It's a bit pricey but a really great lens

Cracking images and will be following Brent Fuji for the win
Damn, first shot was great
When you say you return to a location to take a photo of a specific object, do you remember them from scouting, or do you keep a book of notes to remind you or use a gps a tag a spot? I can't remember breakfast let alone a specific spot from a few weeks ago.
I always feel like I need a ladder when I want to try landscape photography... or be 10 ft tall.
I don't keep notes. I just remember. I also can't remember what you had for breakfast.
On f16 to get the most of sharpness, ever heard of hyperfocal focus, just double the distance and you will be fine with f7 or something like that, thank me later! Great vid as always
Oh I've heard of it 🤣
@@fototripper it works, very, VERY well!! Probably even use the sweet spot of the lens, and be even more stunning!!
@@DUCzillaMonster I've found it to be pointless bollocks when half the time I'm forced to stack anyway.
@@fototripper bollocks? Don't understand that word. I know people with fullframe s who never stacks, for focus only one shot!
Indeed, but on high res camera like the A7RIV, the diffraction limit is just around F6.3, you will start to lose IQ after this point, F8 is still fine but textures would look horrible at F16.
Funny watching your first shot because last week, I almost took the same in my area in France except I almost drown myself (for real...) trying to recover my equipment at the bottom of the river... An expensive walk that could have ended up in a worst way.
Be careful people, don't be stupid like me...
NOOOOOOOOOOOO
@@fototripper I wish I was joking but no... Cold water, alone, no phone service... A very scary situation but in the end, it is just gear (bye bye camera, lens, and filters...) but I'm fine and lessons were learned, thinking before action! I guess now I'm good for scouting
@@maxencelemoine4190 Was the memory card retrievable?
@@fototripper in fact I shoot film with a 35mm camera (not a cheap one, one of the best, one of the last made) and before it went for a swim, the camera crashed on a rock and the back opened and exposed the film which was almost done... I will develop it but there is 0 chance of having something... Yes, when I mess up something, I do it fully!
Hope you are kipping better gav, you don't look like a melted wellie today 😂
I always love watching your video!
One question: are you thinking of making a video at the Bay of Fundy some day?
I'd love to see you an a photographic journey at these fabulous rock formations...
Check my August videos ;)
@fototripper Oh! How could I miss that one? Maybe 'caus I was on holiday myself at this time? 😅👍
