At 10:12, that’s the best advice ever as long no artery is severely damaged, bleeding cleans the wound from inside out and is the best protection against any infection. Don’t wash or peel off the blood crust. Since about 15 years I’m walking barefoot and in baggies, max knickerbocker, all the year long, also in snow and on ice (all toes still there where they should be). Got cuts in my soles (mostly when I there have been a few km left back to the car), scratches of thorn bushes on the shin are standard anyway. Never again been sick since then. Greetings to Gavin, he’s often talking about “appropriate footwear” 😅. The last 3 yrs I never have worm a mask but hugged C tested (having the typical symptoms of a cold) being treated like lepers (asking them to get rid of the face diapers, I wanna hug people with face and an identity). Guess what? Exactly, always tested negative, never could make it to a positive test. - Mens sana in corpore sano. - PS: Of course I' not jabbed. They must 🔫 me first.
Swamp donkeys! Use caution in rutting season around the bulls and always when driving, especially if there are warning signs on the roadway. Beautiful creatures.
Simon. I know that nearly all of the comments are positive and I’m not going to spoil that by saying that you really take the biscuit and the blue ribbon cake, when it comes to advice and help for beginners young and old like me. I’m 71 and have never stopped learning, or wanting to learn new tricks, in whatever craft / job I’m doing at the time. At the moment I use an older Canon EOS 550D and new model Canon 70-300 IS USM lens to shoot the wildlife in our rural 2 acre garden. I think I have outgrown the old camera and realised it’s limited potential, so bought a used Canon EOS 80D, so I would have a better sensor and modern features that should help me obtain better pictures. Next step will be to get a bigger-longer-low light lens. Please keep up the advise and tips. We all need them and your presentations are very entertaining, which helps tie information stick better. Cheers from the New England ranges, downunda. 😁👍👏👏👏👏👏🥃🥃
Ok What I have done is climbed up the side of the water fall and taken a pic from the side of the water fall. Also I would climb to the top of the waterfall and take a pic of the water going down. I also will take pictures of streams and river with the water flowing away from me. Thank you Ben
Thanks for sharing another awesome video like always, I am glad that you are OK and very nice time sharing with friends, that is the wonderful life of photography 🐦❤️👍🙏
This was a great treat , I had no idea you knew Gavin an Amanda they are another one of my favorite channels. Perhaps someday you can meet up with Steve Perry, I've seen you on the forums . Great video Simon.
Great images Simon we spent 6 weeks in NovaScotia this summer Egypt falls was on my list but the road was closed this summer due to a bridge washout we could have gone down but would have to backtrack quite aways after seeing your photos I should have gone the extra mile
Your videos are so inspiring, I'm amazed how you can take seemingly nothing and turn them into amazing compositions. Keep up the nice work! Now... onto your next video
Lovely photos of landscape and wildlife. Your explanations of why and how you composed your shot are easy even for me to understand. I think you can ‘chase awe’ for wildlife as well as Gavin does for his landscape. Kudos
I often said that Egypt falls is arguably the nicest in NS. As for highest point, that honour goes to White Hill, I believe, and not Tenerife. In any case, another enjoyable video....but I may have a bias to the location.
You are amazing. Thanks for all of your videos. Every one of them has great information. I really liked this one because you talked about how to created compositions. I am new to photography and still struggling with creating a good composition. Thanks again.
Simon… don’t worry, I have fallen so many times in the bush hiking lol. Your moose images are heart warming . I travelled a 6500km road trip out east this past summer, captured many great images of shorebirds and small wildlife… all I wanted was to capture a moose , not one to be found lol, not even in NB were the moose signs are posted everywhere. Next time I hope.
WOW!! Amazing photos of the Moose, I would have never thought about taking those shots. Thank you for another nice video with much great information. I have to also add, I really enjoyed your excitement about the moose, it must have felt like Christmas morning.
I'm happy you didn't hurt yourself too badly. Sad to see all the photographers at around 10:35. Social media has exploded and saturated the photography field. I get it. Anyways, thanks for sharing. Sorry you had to hang out with the Hardcastles... LOL. Actually, we miss them on Vancouver Island.
I’m new to the r6, so far loving it. Your videos are such a great help to amateurs, thank you so much! Also very exciting to have Gavin living in our beautiful province. I’ve been watching his work for a while now. 😊. Thanks for the amazing tips!
Great video Simon! Hopefully you're healing up from the tumble. What a wild experience to just have two moose grazing in the headlights of a vehicle. Probably the only time you want to see a Moose in front of your car. haha!
Another enjoyable video Simon. Thank you so much. The background music you use is great. Computer generated stuff so many others use is really annoying. All the best to you!
Great edpisode ! Someone else may have mentioned but often times you're not looking into the camera but just off to the side ? Not sure what causes this but looks a bit odd . Great stuff !
Great video. I love your videos, they’re so informative. I do have a question though, you talk in other videos about using auto ISO and how it’s one of the best tips to give a photographer, why didn’t you use auto ISO?
Good tip about the backlighting! Were you carrying a camera when you fell? If you hike alone, you should always tell someone where you will be and when you are expected back! If you fall and cannot walk, you would be in a terrible situation. Enjoyed this video!
Great fall footage and moose shots. I've never seen moose drop to their knees like that! Probably the same thing Gavin did after he realized he should have stuck around a bit longer....
I enjoyed that Simon. You and Gavin work well together. But, what's the situation with drones? I know Gavin complained that he couldn't fly them in BC. Is it all legal on the east coast?
absolutely beautiful! Composition is something I really struggle with. Others seem to be able to see things where I don't all the time. Good tips! Amazing Moose encounter! Hope you're not too banged up/bleeding lol.
Another outstanding video. It has been a long time since I have seen Gavin, so I did not know he is pregnant. 😜In all seriousness when you two team up it always results in very entertaining videos and great shots.
@@simon_dentremont thanks for the reply. Me watching on a small screen and the back of the camera being dark I couldn't tell. I have been debating getting the R7 to go along with my R6. As a hobbyist that doesn't get out to shoot anywhere near enough it's hard to justify a second body.
Let me suggest what Roman would do: He only photograps small waterfalls with colourful leaves floating where the waterfall ends. About a plastic bag sized amount of leaves.
Never having used a trail cam ruclips.net/user/postUgkx2sTDdZXomuxedMg_HothfjSXjR3rpPkA before, I was very impressed with the quality of the images and videos. The sensitivity of the camera can be adjusted as well as the length of video recordings. Once I found the sweet spot, I was getting great clips of deer and other animals almost every day. I was worried about battery life but have been running off the same 4 aa batteries for over a month. The SD card is easy to remove and connect to a computer. I have a Mac, and the AVI files open natively in QuickTime and are easy to save and share. This is a great, budget-friendly trail cam.
Careful folks about scammers pretending to be me and offering prizes!
Gavin a legend in his own mind. Moose are cool, award winning...

You can always use a mask and some hue shifting to introduce new or brighter foliage color.
Great tip!
That was amazing!
Thanks!
"You can't be a loser if you don't try" Nice one Gavin😂😂😂
I subscribe to both of you and I’m really enjoying these collaboration vlogs. You three have a lot of chemistry!
Thanks!
This is great. Y’all need to do this again
I can only handle so much time with Gavin…
@@simon_dentremont just give him some Twirls. Haha
Love all your videos!
Yay! Thank you!
When you said you had moose in the headlights, I fully expected the camera to turn and show Gavin in a goofy hat. I'm glad I was wrong.
Oh man what a great tip about the background lighting for birds. And your examples were beauts!
Thanks so much!
Gavin, u look exhausted . Lol. Gr8 video guys!
Thé church project is wearing him down!
I absolutely love your combined videos so light hearted refreshing and funny 🤣

This was a awesome and informative video! Thank you and take care ( wet rocks )
Thanks! You too!
Great episode man. The landscapes and moose were cool and all, but that White-throated Sparrow cameo was a little too legit! 😁
Glad you enjoyed it! Hope you’re well after your recent troubles.
Great video and nice composition. I have several of Gavin’s videos and they are very educational.
