Hi Gavin, just a question! The overhanging tree was very beautiful. Did you also take one at f4. To blur the background. If so was it just as good as the one you showed us. Cheers oh and another cool vlog
I tried shooting wide open to see if there was much background blur but there wasn't much because I was still far away from the tree thus making it sit almost in the same focal plane as the background.
What... are you a year into matrimony ? a bit early for that face but... well, it happens to all of us. seriously however, that shot @ 13:00 freaking wow !!
Can you please another video on the OM-1 MK2 with 7-14mm f/2.8 pro using the lens at f/5.6, using the built in graduated ND filter mode. Apparently DXO photolab does a better job with OM raw files then Adobe does.
Congrats on joining the freebie Hasselblad club. After your Olympus video, and looking at the 100mp shots with the Hasselblad, do you think the difference in photo quality is worth $20k?
@fototripper I couldn't agree more. I have several cameras, but my old X-E1 just makes me want to grab it and go shoot, even though my Sony FF is technically better. When I see the results that you and others are posting with the Hasselblad, I honestly don't think they look any better than your other photos with much more affordable gear. Enjoyment is definitely important, but $20k for that is beyond most of us hobby photographers who watch your channel.
Interesting, I was around Killarney again the week before thanksgiving, and on my very last day there (Thursday I think) I was up top of the granite ridges and laying back on a comfy glacially carved rock waiting for the sun to GTFO and saw a huge pink blob in the sky.. I was like 'huh, there's no cloud there, is there?' and then I saw that it was pulsing and moving.. so I took some long exposures only to find out the entire valley was bathed in pink. I stayed up there for about two hours, it was so intense it was almost too much. Still couldn't hear them though. I know those falls also.

I love the videos for the photography, but the added comedy value is a joy.
Beautiful image of that tree at 13:12. Besides, that 55mm on MF (44mm full frame equivalent) is almost identical to the new Leica Q3 43mm.
I don't think the difference in quality is worth $3k but I do like using tools that make the experience more enjoyable.
