No contest. Afterglow. Of all the RUclips subscriptions I have, yours is the one that makes me excitedly think "OH DAMN, A NEW ONE." And then I drop whatever I'm doing to watch. Keep it up. Most appreciated.
Thanks Gary for introducing me to the fantastic Peter McKinnon, I can’t wait to get his book to put alongside my Adam Gibbs and Thomas Heston books. Thanks again Gary. 😂❤
The afterglow pic is lovely but the Pano sunset version is spot on! Sweet of you to say you wouldn't change Amanda for the world, she is belching champ for sure😄
Another fabulous video, thank Gavin for so many laughs along with some superb photography. I am now well and truly hooked on this channel and look forward to more new content although I am loving catching up on the back catalogue. As for the pic, I prefer the afterglow version. Softer and not so harsh colours and light, although the other is also top notch. 🙂
Brilliant as always! I think out of the two images, for me, it’s definitely the one with the sunlight lighting up the rocks. Looking forward to your Ireland videos.
Afterglow for me. I love the contrast between the warm glowing colour of the clouds and the cool purplish greys of the stone. In the pano I find the sun distracts from the main subject.
Smashing video, and fair play to the effort put in to get to the cascade! I don't know about climbing down that rope though, seemed WaaaaaaY too sketchy! I really like the vertical pano, the light on the rocks and cliffs is just too nice!
The shower scene lol. Amanda cracks me up. Also, when she is in the background of some of the scenes. Best photography channel there is. Always makes me laugh.
I Love the way Peter takes his photos. He’s really tall. Which is why he’s so smart. And even gooder than some all the time, with he/they photo picturepictures.. I like the way you can peel off the backing and upload them to autoshop after they dry. Love Peter…
Great episode again! Afterglow for me plus the drone shot, which was my favourite 🤙🏻. Thanks for the comedy, Gavin. Life is serious enough. We need need the laughs!
Gavin - I think you shine your best when you have other photographers on your channel. Amanda is always a great foil for your antics, and when you add another photographer it takes it up to 11. Regardless, I always thoroughly enjoy your VLOGs.
Speaking of funny...Were those lovely senior citizens really your parents! They seemed to have your exact sense of humor timing and attitude!!! Amazing teaching that you share with the world and Amazing Photography that comes out of what you do!!!
I read this great article about things you can do with old books and instantly thought about all of yours that didn’t sell...here are a few of their suggestions- remove the spine and use as a bookmark for other books (like Adam Gibbs' 'Quiet Light'), stack to make a doorstop, stack to create table legs to make a coffee table to display beautiful photography books (like Thomas Heaton's 'Landscape Photography on Location'), cut out the center of a book to create a hiding place for valuables (lens cleaning cloth?), cut out the pictures to craft greeting cards (you could send these to potential sponsors like Charmin!), you could also cut out the text to make a decorative wrap around candles, or tear out pages to make placemats! So many possibilities! You're welcome 😊 ❤!
It would have been really cool if at the end of the video there was a cameo of the real Peter McKinnon. lol Or at some point him just walking by you guys glaring at you.
I think the pano sun version works the best to my eye. Both are beautiful though. Thanks as always for the inspiration, Gavin! Don’t let Peter McKinnon get you down.
Back after 2 weeks with a 35 min video. Redeemed! Peter just peaked his career by appearing in a hardcastle video. Welcome to big time Peter! Won't be long before he's on kicking horse and travelling around with a coffee grinder. He knows that's what pulls in the sponsorship deals.
I think you should put both shots in the book as examples of how you can get multiple photos out of a single location at the same time. The description of the result would help a great deal also.
Those two shots of NOT the lighthouse are great. Favorite is the afterglow shot. BTW, received your book a couple weeks ago. Enjoy it very much. Well done. Glad to add it to my collection.
Both shots are stunners. If I had to choose I'd go for the more moody afterglow, with the cool colours in the rocks and softer tones. No wait, I like the warm light splashes and clarity of the pano. Damn. No, definitely leaning toward the afterglow ... That last location was jaw dropping. The sidelight and reflections, wow!
I'm having pointy panogasms at the moment but might have a re-watch for an afterglow cigarette. That's a stunning place, I bet it's awesome when the sea is rough.
Shot wise I think the first one is better. Reason is that the subject (the cliffs and the relationship to the close rocks) is actually the subject. In the second one the cloud pulls you away from the cliffs and the cliffs look a bit too "meh". If the cliffs looked amazing with a bit more light it would be fine, but as it stands it feels unbalanced and the sky takes your attention entirely away from what you are photographing to such a small area in the top left of the frame. It just feels unbalanced. Hope this helps.
I loved both of the photos from the beach toward the beginning of the video, but what really impressed me was your decision to not try and go down that cliff face for the waterfall shot, I don't want to worry you but you may be maturing.
Colors are spectacular in the afterglow shot but the vertical wide-angle seems much more majestic and has my vote. (Living at the beach in San Diego maybe spoiled me but colorful sunset photos are a dime a dozen - still nice!)
I think the "mushrooms" you asked about are "Indian pipe" or _Monotropa_ uniflora, not mushrooms. They have no chlorophyll and are parasitic. Nice images. I like both the images you asked about, but if you make me choose, it would be the more colorful version @ 12:54. You, Amanda and Alex have some good chemistry. Funny stuff.
Some very nice images and it’s always fun to see Amanda and her fantastic sense of humor. After watching you and Alex/Peter I had to watch some Three Stooges videos to see some real juvenile humor
Wow the drone shot later on in the video is a stunner. The patterns in the sands were nuts. On the earlier shots the second one had the edge, the sun in the frame on the first one was a bit much.
What's up Gavin? I see you like hanging out with silly folks. No offense to Peter. Actually as always; pretty funny stuff Gavin. As far as what shot I would go with; I think the one lit up by the sun on the rocks look great! Keep up with the great work dude. Peace!
I was at the same lighthouse this July, foggy and cloudy. Unfortunately, was hoping for a Milky Way shot with the lighthouse in the frame. Loved the “afterglow” shot. Interested in the “shoreline” workshop if it ever happened!
I loved the video, too many laughs 🤣 The first pic was my favorite. Hilarious shower scene! And of course the photos were stunning, the water reflections were brilliant👏🤩
I pick the first image but liked them both. Excellent work. I know that wasn't Peter because he didn't punch the air in front of him and say "Butts up everybody!" at least that is what I hear in his intros ha ha. Alex is awesome! Glad to see he was there to ruin your shots and get in the way :)
Alex's Channel: www.youtube.com/@PeterMcKinnon
Afterglow shot for me
And that shot hits like a truck full of dilldows😅😂
The mushroom you asked about was Ghost Pipe and not a mushroom at all. They are a plant that is missing chlorophyll.
Your videos always have amazing photography content, but I have to admit, I’m mostly here for the hilarious stories!
Pano Sunset for me. Alex is a dead ringer for Ned Flanders (Simpsons) for sure.
I KNEW he reminded me of someone. Thanks for the reminder.
@@fototripper Okey dokely doo...your welcome
That Peter McKinnon sure is handsome
How very dare you go missing for weeks on end.. who were we supposed to watch. Grumpton or the heaton 😅😅😅
What a feckin liberty😂😂
Thanks for another entertaining video. I prefer the sunset image, although both were quite good
Now that’s what they call a comeback !!
Superb adventure Pal! The vertical pano for the bookage for sure !!
Really enjoyed these shenanigans
I love the awkward interactions you have with people. You're such a funny guy.
2 of my favorite photographers. Pretty awesome to see y’all get together and shoot some photos
No contest. Afterglow. Of all the RUclips subscriptions I have, yours is the one that makes me excitedly think "OH DAMN, A NEW ONE." And then I drop whatever I'm doing to watch. Keep it up. Most appreciated.
Thanks :)
So...Alex has the best license plate ever. My favorite band!
link... in the description
Peter must be so grateful that you’ve put him on the map
Seriously though its great to see you back here... how is hard castle towers coming along we need an update 👍👍👍
Thanks Gary for introducing me to the fantastic Peter McKinnon, I can’t wait to get his book to put alongside my Adam Gibbs and Thomas Heston books. Thanks again Gary. 😂❤
The drone footage was beautiful, and I vote for the the first photo. All of them are beautiful.
Brillaint content, as always I will say it again, it should be mainstream TV
The afterglow pic is lovely but the Pano sunset version is spot on! Sweet of you to say you wouldn't change Amanda for the world, she is belching champ for sure😄
You and Alex have helped me become a better photographer.
Well, I loved the first shot, but then I saw the afterglow shot. 💜
That pano sunset version was my favourite. Beautiful shot!
Great to see you guys back up to more shenanigans!
I like the afterglow horizontal shot more, because of the light. Another fun video, but now I am feeling like the flying vampires are all around me 😬
Afterglow horizontal for sure is my favorite. Love the cooler tones.
Brilliant as always! I think out of the two images, for me, it’s definitely the one with the sunlight lighting up the rocks.
Looking forward to your Ireland videos.
0:29 that fly went past your mic at the perfect comedic time
Afterglow for me. I love the contrast between the warm glowing colour of the clouds and the cool purplish greys of the stone. In the pano I find the sun distracts from the main subject.
Smashing video, and fair play to the effort put in to get to the cascade! I don't know about climbing down that rope though, seemed WaaaaaaY too sketchy!

afterglow one definitely!
I love the purple post-sunset version! Gorgeous.
Also, I bet Pete would get a kick out of you. It'd be a fun cross-over.
Great episode again! Afterglow for me plus the drone shot, which was my favourite 🤙🏻. Thanks for the comedy, Gavin. Life is serious enough. We need need the laughs!
Of the first two shots I prefer the sunset one, the other one is nice too, but the golden light suits the landscape better!
Gavin - I think you shine your best when you have other photographers on your channel. Amanda is always a great foil for your antics, and when you add another photographer it takes it up to 11. Regardless, I always thoroughly enjoy your VLOGs.
So glad you’re back this week!! I love both shots but the vertical pano is extra good!!
Pano sunset version for sure. It's a beauty. Probably won't get me to buy your book, but it does belong there.
They're both gorgeous, but those purple rocks of the afterglow trump the elegant light for me.
I love Alex's number plate, Rush the best band ever, RIP Neil Peart
Speaking of funny...Were those lovely senior citizens really your parents! They seemed to have your exact sense of humor timing and attitude!!! Amazing teaching that you share with the world and Amazing Photography that comes out of what you do!!!
The first ‘afterglow’ shot is my vote….but they’re both great!…😊
BUUUUURRRRRPPP! 🤣 You two are freaking hilarious together.
Awesome video, looks like you are enjoying life … good for you!
great stuff, i think i prefered the pano one but, the drone shot of the whole scene with you guys on the rocks was a killer,
Both pictures are gorgeous, but I like the sunset version even more.
The cliffs, that was a magentic pano shot!
Well done.
It would have been really cool if at the end of the video there was a cameo of the real Peter McKinnon. lol Or at some point him just walking by you guys glaring at you.
So cool to see Peter collabing with bigger youtubers and expanding his audience!
I think the pano sun version works the best to my eye. Both are beautiful though. Thanks as always for the inspiration, Gavin! Don’t let Peter McKinnon get you down.
Both beautiful, but I prefer the sunset pano shot personally. Great as always.
A new episode of a great RUclips’s series; haven’t watched the video yet but glad to see it’s over 30 minutes long
I prefer the pano sunset version though they are both amazing.

Not a mushroom. They are flowers that lack chlorophyll called Ghost Pipes; botanical name, Monotropa uniflora.
Both are amazing images but I definitely digging the afterglow pic slightly more.
The shot at 33:46 was SWEEEEET
Cheers Guv'na
I like the first photo of the two you asked about. Loved the colors in it
both pics are fab Gavin 1st class stuff wow
Definitely afterglow. Perfection. Moody, mysterious. Superb.
Those two shots of NOT the lighthouse are great. Favorite is the afterglow shot. BTW, received your book a couple weeks ago. Enjoy it very much. Well done. Glad to add it to my collection.
Thanks muchly
Afterglow is my preference.
I’ve got this 14-24mm on my Sonesslbladifilm camera.
Beautiful images - Pano sunset for sure 😊
Both shots are stunners. If I had to choose I'd go for the more moody afterglow, with the cool colours in the rocks and softer tones. No wait, I like the warm light splashes and clarity of the pano. Damn. No, definitely leaning toward the afterglow ... That last location was jaw dropping. The sidelight and reflections, wow!
Great content, as amusing as ever, thank you. Personally prefer the vertical pano.
Always authentic, entertaining and informative - love from one of the 2% female viewers ❤
There’s a couple of us 2% . . . Yay!!!! Helping Amanda have some additional company.
YYZRUSH tag! Gavin you need to keep Alex around.
At least for Bear fodder.
I'm having pointy panogasms at the moment but might have a re-watch for an afterglow cigarette. That's a stunning place, I bet it's awesome when the sea is rough.

pano sunset for me, the glow on the cliff face is gorgeous
I loved both of the photos from the beach toward the beginning of the video, but what really impressed me was your decision to not try and go down that cliff face for the waterfall shot, I don't want to worry you but you may be maturing.

The first pano looks better to me. Awesome location
Lol great video looks like your having a great time making these videos keep them coming please love them
I like both images ! You may use both in the next book explaining mastering light for example ?
Nice video, funny as ever !
Great video as always. I prefer the vertical pano :)
I'll be going on a leaf peeping photo safari this weekend. Colorado fall is amazing.
Some very nice images and it’s always fun to see Amanda and her fantastic sense of humor. After watching you and Alex/Peter I had to watch some Three Stooges videos to see some real juvenile humor
Pano vertical sunset, because I love the golden light. But the soft light is gorgeous too.
Wow the drone shot later on in the video is a stunner. The patterns in the sands were nuts. On the earlier shots the second one had the edge, the sun in the frame on the first one was a bit much.
I prefer the more subtleness of the afterglow. Everyone goes after the sunset, but you excel at the more subtle nuances with the afterglow shot.
Much prefer the sunset pano, but both versions still awesome!
Definitely the pano sunset version! It gave me a proper photogasm.
What's up Gavin? I see you like hanging out with silly folks. No offense to Peter. Actually as always; pretty funny stuff Gavin. As far as what shot I would go with; I think the one lit up by the sun on the rocks look great! Keep up with the great work dude. Peace!

think you should put both images in, it shows if you are patient you may get another fantastic shot 👍⭐
I loved the video, too many laughs 🤣 The first pic was my favorite. Hilarious shower scene! And of course the photos were stunning, the water reflections were brilliant👏🤩
Just use both the vertical and the horizontal shot ,as it shows the two different positions and the effects that are presented.
The afterglow version!
My choice is the vertical pano, for me the curve of sunlight catching the rocks is the deciding factor.
Those Mushrooms you asked about are called Piece Pipes. I have photographed them before in Maine.
Just put both pics in the book!! Both are worthy!
No.2 - Pano sunset wins for the drama and rocky landscape… but I love the sky in No.1.
Great collab. Loved it! And wow, those drone shots are friggin' awesome!! Alex is a funny f*cker.
I like the first one - the after sunset. Cooler temperature, serene atmosphere.
Great shots. Afterglow
