Yesterday I started to listen to an audiobook of the same title. Having this video pop up after I begin the book is highlighting this essential skill.
Knowing when to leave is key.

Great video. I read/studied a book with this title. One of my favorite lines is from Steve Covey “Seek first to understand”. Also liked when you said set boundaries

Needed to hear this, my team works with another team and it hasnt been the best collaboration. Lots of anonymous complaints from the other team but in our meetings they act like nothing is happening and everything is good. Not only this is a communication issue, but my managers are almost siding on the other teams side just to satisfy them. Our managers blaming us and I feel my leadership is very weak and incompetent.

How to deal with managers that whenever u ask them for smth they keep saying we will check, u follow up after a week, then again after a month and its always the same answer like let me see what I can do, we will fix it, but never happens. And whenever it from their side, they expect us to do it immediately and usually their requests are adding much work to our already heavy workload.

This question bothers me: Do you say hello to people who would otherwise ignore you completely? I always find myself doing that and it is really annoying. I am a nice person. I think it is rude not to.
