Thank you so much. I'm too tired tonight at 1:00 in the morning to read about how the sleeper berth works but watching it on this RUclips channel helped it soak in my brain.
-Split -Sleeper -calculation 14 minus (time used between 8sleeper 2offduty) = time given [appears like it paused the 14 if you started with 14] 11 minus ( time driven between 8sleeper 2offduty) = driving time given [drive time stops when wheels stop] Edit or add event the yard move and or the personal conveyance entries from customer to Truck stop to complete sleeper time in reality.
Just forget the off duty time completely, and put all your down time in the sleeper berth. This rule is so confusing, to the point of drivers getting violations when they shouldn't. If you're not certain that you'll log a full 10 hours off duty, then just put it in the sleeper & let the software do the math. This is ridiculous.
These large companies are powerful enough to get these changes made. 12 hour drive time. 14 hour max duty cycle is still ok. 36 hour reset. 72 hour allowable drive time per 7 day week. This would allow the current 14 hour a day duty cycle to stay, with a 10 hour break every day, and put drivers on a 7 day week like the rest of the work force!
Driver could have logged sleeper berth for 3 hrs when home. Come on now what is creepy ass Joe and the feds going to do? Track us with Cameras? Where the heck stays in the sleeper berth anyways all that time when they log it?
Ok , if I start we my Pre trip 30m for my pri trip and then I ride for 6hours to my customer but my customer is not open yet so I sleep for 2hours in my sleeper bed then 30min to unload so my other customer 6.5 hour driving so my next customer I got 30m working time load is not ready yet So I sleep for 3hour in my sleeper bed So I Got ( 30m work - 6hrs Driving - 2hrs sleep - 30m working unload - 6.5hrs driving next customer - 30min work So a Total of 16 hours If I sleep 3hrs at my customer does this gave me some hours to get to the nearest truck stop

I dont understand why im getting warnings to go into sleeper with a bunch of time on my clock

I hope I did explain it right

Ok , if I start we my Pre trip 30m for my pri trip
and then I ride for 6hours to my customer
but my customer is not open yet so I sleep for 2hours in my sleeper bed
then 30min to unload
so my other customer 6.5 hour driving
so my next customer I got 30m working time load is not ready yet
So I sleep for 3hour in my sleeper bed
So I Got ( 30m work - 6hrs Driving - 2hrs sleep - 30m working unload - 6.5hrs driving next customer - 30min work So a Total of 16 hours
If I sleep 3hrs at my customer does this gave me some hours to get to the nearest truck stop
So, Off Duty doesn't count towards the split, it has to be Sleeper Berth?
Hey there! The small break can be either but the large break must be sleeper berth uninterrupted. In this instance the PC movement voided the split.
Thank you
