I think Bachalo has done more X-men issues than anyone else at this time. Uncanny with Seagle, X-Men with Carey, Uncanny with Bendis, plus one-shots. Can't think who's drawn more.
Watching Bachalo evolve was great and these videos highlight that really well. The Ghost Rider is fun as it shows his influence on Ashley Wood and others. I didn't know about that GR Annual. Found it online and will buy it. On Tim Townsend. He was the defining inker for that period on X-Men. Uncanny had that inker continuity from Austin to Wiacek to Green to Williams to Thibert to Green and then Townsend for years. I think it's rose tinted glasses to think that Townsend is his guy. We've had more than a decade of Bachalo inked by committee. You get more Townsend at the start of any project but then...e.g. Amazing Spiderman 555,556 inks by Townsend. 557 by Townsend, Irwin, Faucher, Mendoza and Vey. Been the same on every book since Marvel Knights Captain America maybe. I think his colours tie it all together
So many different inkers! I’ll have to look into that. I’d agree that his colours tie it all together. I think his current artistic period is very defined by his great colour work.
Hey guys, love you channel and these Bachalo overviews specifically. Bachalo's my favourite comic book artist and every so often I search for his name on youtube to see if something new has turned up so it was great to see these videos newly appeared. I've collected every Bachalo comic and bound them all (Except Captain Stoneheart which is oversized) in 5 hardcovers tombs. If you guys are interested in seeing any of this or cross checking his bibliography for gaps (for example I completely missed his Marvel Special he did in and around his first X-Men run) please let me know.
@@inkXscribe Yes please do, that would be great. I would very much like that. If I don't hear from you before please have a happy Holiday season and New Years.
Very cool to see an artists progression of style throughout their career. Seeing those page scans was so sad, I can't imagine how Chris felt seeing the final books with all that work essentially erased!!! Interesting to see Chris inked by Dan Panosian (Have you seen Dan's amazing cover work of late?? Penciled, inked and colored by Dan!)) So funny seeing Eric (I think this is technically your YT channel.) your cat climbing on your head with you unaffected. LOL So, what's her name? I have a furry boy named Rocket.
I had Death The High Cost of Living in the early 90s. Loved it. I haaaated the race washing of Death in Netflix. Even my fave RUclipsrs, DoubleToasted, who are black, said Death has such an iconic look and casting who they did was a disservice to the real life person Death was based on. I agree with them. Comics are a visual medium. Its not wrong to want things to be faithful to how they were originally depicted.
You get a little Bachalo Batman in Batman Black & White vol 3 (I think). It's very different to this Shade/Death era Bats. Would love a Black Label book or something. Give him lead time. Give him one inker and a decent writer
It’s gotta be digital for you to cover it? I’ve seen most of these issues in .25 or dollar boxes at the LCS. In fact I recently picked up the ghost rider 2099 issues in a quarter bin last month. God, I miss Kayfabe…
I’ve been on the lookout for a copy of issue 1 for a while, but have yet to stumble on one. Weirdly, they just released Ghost Rider 2099 on kindle today! Wish I’d known this was coming!
Man. This Bachalo series has been so well done. Thank you guys.
Thank you! 😊
Bachalo was my fav artist during his run on GEN X/GEN NEXT. I would say that was peak Bachalo
Yeah, those comics were something truly special!
I LOVED his art on Gen-X & Gen-Next,wish I could get those old comics in my greasy nerd hands once again. LOL.
I remember this and couldn’t believe how his styles changed in between and through….
The Children's Crusade opening page with the roman columns is amazing.
Couldn’t agree more. Bachalo is so good at title pages!
I absolutely LOVE Terminus. That credits page is stunning....the shadows, the he way warps perspective. Pure artfuel.
Couldn't agree more! What a show stopper page!
I was looking forward to part 2. This is going to be awesome
Congratulations on the TV show!!! ✨️🌟🏆😲
Thank you so much!! 😀

He’s almost to X-Men what Romita jr is to Spider-Man! A new run once every decade.
Awesome! Love Bachalo and glad you followed up
Chris Bachalo was a great choice to look over.
Thank you!! 😊

After Bacahlo left Ghostrider 2099 a very young Ashley Wood took over. Very cool book with young superstars.
Now I definitely need to check that out!

Haha thank you as always, Peter!! I have two little gremlins, Leia and Jade. They’re extremely needy!
