    Join us today as we discuss:
    - Why you shouldn't listen to Bob Ross;
    - Different ways to monetise your art;

    Great interview. I truly appreciate Steve Mitchell, Mind of Watercolor. Don’t box yourself in, and experiment, great advice. One of the things I most appreciated about watching Steve Mitchell, whether he is painting or discussing something about his work, or chatting with Reese,, lol, he’s always authentic and sincere about who he is and that he is about, sharing his knowledge. Thank you both for bringing this interview to us.

    Love his take on Bob Ross... / « How do you paint a fill in the blank? » form, value, and you do studies until you understand it. Loved it!!! I find tutorials end up putting pressure, expecting to get a perfect result right off the bat. By doing studies until you understand it, there is room for experimentation and error, which is really freeing. This is my takeaway from this chat! Thank you!

    I find that one of the biggest issue for artists is FEAR! People are scared that they will make a “mistake” or “ fail” there is none of that is art, really, you are expressing yourself, that is what art is about.. thanks, Steve is a good friend of mine, he did a review of my Warptercolor Bowls and Fearless Felt Watercolor Sketchbooks! ( see the name there... ) yes be FEARLESS! Thanks Ana!

    Loved this! I've been watching Steve s channel for awhile and he always has valuable lessons. I liked what he said about not looking to a formula for a given subject; but rather to think in terms of form, value and to do studies. Trial and error. Practice, practice..
    I was AMAZED to learn how recently he began portraits! Great cast! Thanks.

    Big fan of both Steve and Reese, love the sense of humor he infuses into his intros. He always has interesting and worthwhile content, and I appreciate the Bible verses at the end of each video. I've used his information as a resource for loads of supplies, he's done the research for us! And his content is so informative. It really was lovely to hear his story, the meandering paths he took to get where we are today. Thanks for taking the time, to both Steve and Ania.

    I love Steve’s comments about Bob Ross. I can relate to what he said. I didn’t think there would ever be any way I could paint anything well. After a couple of years of trying and trying and taking a couple of classes - I am now at a point that I can paint. I have my own style. I also am at the point where Steve’s videos are so much easier for me to understand and I am learning so much better from him. I also just received my first set of M. Graham and am very excited to see how I like them. I’m a Daniel Smith girl.
    Thank you for the wonderful video!

    The argument re: digital vs traditional art is just a newer version of the argument re: illustration vs fine art. Artists have never been accused of being egoless, lol.

      Hey Mary, Steve finally explained to us the story behind the name! According to him: watercolor tends to have a mind of its own. It has a reputation for being difficult, unforgiving and reacting in weird, unexpected ways sometimes. Steve's channel theme has been to get into that mind, so to speak, and learn how it acts and reacts to have better success in painting with it. 🧡

    I so disagree with you Steve about Bob Ross! He was a student of William Alexander, who was the original painter on PBS! I am older than you, therefore I had the opportunity to watch William Alexander on PBS!
