A full day of Too Good To Go would be really interesting, especially if you limited yourself to say £10 - £12 for the day. Not the healthiest I'm sure but it could be fun
There are a lot of options in London that's for sure - so maybe at least 1 of the meals could be relatively healthy I reckon. I'm going to put my thinking hat on, and see what I can do!
I'd like to see a Greeno video from my home, the utopian metropolis of Newcastle..! No need for TGTG bags here, most stuff is half the price it is down south anyway...
Thanks for this presentation Greeno. You brought back a lot of memories for me. I remember being in London visiting the Tower of London, but also stopping off at the *PRET A PORTER* near the Tower. Back then, my toasted Ham & Cheese sandwich cost me £1.20. Cheers mate!
Yes, too good to go is a great resource, BUT don't forget (if driving) to take a decent cooler with you & a wet towel to help the cooler from the outside if stored in a car, because things like BP / m&s petrol stations can include meals & all sorts of meal prep as they are so wide ranging & comprehensively stocked. We use too good to go when abroad too, it is an app worth utilising, esp in plaes you go to a few times a year but have never tried, we use it in chamonix to great effect because the french standard for food is generally so high it has always been a winner. If your channel budget allows it, I would take a holiday in a place like chamonix in a self catering apartment (can recommend cheap & "good enough" through to a nice air b&b up by the train station (I take my sous viide stick there to cook with) & hit up the options, even the big superarkets have deli produce & some of the longest cheese counters i've ever seen) sushi counters, but our fave cheap eats restaurant option is the carrefour "crescendo" cafe, downhill in sallanches, eating reviews in a place like that is a joy to see as it is multimodal in terms of views, area, food, etc...
I am actually in France right now! Heading from the Loire down to the Dordogne as we speak. I might have to see what's available around where we are staying!!
@@GreenoEats Look out for big "carrefour" stores, they usually have the cafe attached, by both an outdoor door as well as inside, the lunch is fab, with ticket at the till & a bunch of cooks you hand your ticket to & ask for your steak / burger / fish done however you want (with the obvious limitations on steak, we tend to have "bleau" ...the salads, puds, allsorts offer tremendous value, so you might be there a while, ,,if I may recommend the 3 small mixed portion dessert selection, creme brulee (crispy snap) chocolat tartin ..& something else, less cloying than full size. They close early on sundays, & you need to check the hours as they kind of do a few meal services rather than being open all day long, ..as ever, coffee with dark choc on the side, excellent crepes etc etc, & cheap compared to elsewhere. Sat nav should sort you out, hope you have a "t" toll gate arm card on the car, french nightmare without! (same french company does the "smart dart" version for the QE2 bridge etc, worth their weight!
Although £3 is not even the cheapest TGTG bag, you raise the most perfect question: "what can you buy for £3" and the simple answer is not a lot! Even a single sandwich or (or not and) a coffee would cost more in most places but especially in London. I agree with you, those Ham & Cheese Croissant were not croissant. Putting a couple of folds into a pastry does not make it a croissant! The best description I can think of is Ham & Cheese pastries. I know TGTG is random potluck but, even though I do like Pret, that TGTG bag was a bit boring; 3 items 2 of which were the same. However for £3 it was still value for money. I know this video is 6 months old, but I would like to answer a direct question you ask at 04:49 about the idea of living off TGTG for a whole day i.e. breakfast, lunch and dinner. Yes, I think that would be really a fun idea and just see if you can actually do it for less than £10. I would be amazed if you could. That "Greeno Eats" sweater looked amazing! If you ever did setup a merchandise store, I would defintely get one of them.
It’s a shame I updated my logo since then, so don’t wear it any more 🤣 Maybe I should make myself a new one… Not quite sure the channel is ready for a merch store, but it’s something I have started to think about as an option! You’re right that the bag wasn’t the most exciting, but that’s the pot luck of TGTG I guess. But tasty, and could have been split between 2 to make an ok breakfast for almost no money.
Greeno, really enjoyed this video 👍. A few more London videos would be nice 😊 Honestly didn't know Pret did magic bags.Just checking my nearest shop now.Hopefully get as good a deal as you did
Hi Lisa, got a couple more London videos from the couple of days I was up there, which will be interspersed into the content over the next 2 weeks. Good luck on your TGTG bag!
£3 doesn’t get a lot in London especially breakfast, I got a pret breakfast bag last and was very surprised and lucky I got 2 veggie baps 2 bacon and egg baps and a porridge so I definitely got more than the £9 it says it was worth I also paid £3 for it
For a quid each it's not bad for those pastrys and I know it's London prices but at full price it makes each pastry around 3 quid each witch is a right rip off, You should go up to Glasgow and get a bag there because I've never seen anyone go up the or from there do a bag
Yep, London prices can be bonkers (especially in the places the locals don’t go!). Glasgow, that’s an interesting shout. Blooming long way from Dorset mind 🤣

Do you think I should do a full day in London eating nothing but Too Good To Go food? Let me know!
And let me know if you would have been happy with this for £3?
Fab idea ❤
Oh yes that would be great 👍 What about Christmas 🎄 just a suggestion 😀
Yes, do it!
