Greeno describes the flavour of the Uzbeki main course that I’ve never heard of by comparing it to an English dish that I’ve never heard of. 😊 Have a great 2025 from Canada!

What a great start to 2025 ..keep these type of reviews coming, Folk need to see that there are much better choices for your buck, than the fast food outlets swamped in grease . @GreenoEats Yes ,The Borscht is incredible .I had the Lamb kebab which just fell apart ( I think they may steam it first ? ) . I have been to Abu Mahar close by 2 or 3 times, which I think is actuslly Lebonese ? ..you need to eat everything that they make 😂😂..I am not lying.🤗..

A great start to the year! I loved the look of that soup;; dill is one of my favourite herbs! The masters of soup-making really are those from that region. We are so used to the 'stuff' that comes conveniently in packets or cans, that we are in danger of losing the art of marrying the components in a full-flavoured broth. I have to say, I don't recall the last time I used a can, preferring to tinker with the combinations until it tastes 'right'! So no two soups are ever the same in my home! The whole meal looked like it would feed two, maybe even three - generous portions of everything and incredible value for money! Fully deserving of the rating you gave!
We make a lot of our own stock at Greeno Towers - and use that in soups, sauces, noodle dishes etc. and it's so much better than anything shop bought. This meal was very good indeed - and more than enough to feed 2 very well.
Ha! Used to go ice skating at the rink at Queensway when I was a kid. What a fantastic find, food was great and plenty of it. Considering all the dishes were enough for 2 people that was very reasonable. Fair play to the owner working for working so hard to make a living.
Had Manti in Turkey. Their version is much smaller and more resembles ravioli and served with a rich garlicy yoghurty sauce. It was one of my go tos for a working lunch. The soup looked really hearty and with the bread basket, that would have been a sufficient lunch for me. As I am sure it is for a lot of Uzbekis. Glad you really enjpyed the introduction to Uzbeki food. Definitely worth searching out some places closer to home, perhaps?
Yes, I think there are variations of these dumplings all the way from Central Europe to China. Definitely an interesting place to try, glad I found it 🙂
@GreenoEats wonderful Greeno can see you going far! I remember trying some Mongolian Beef ...at a wonderful little upmarket restaurant back in the 1980s! Was wonderful very tasty too! 😋
That looked like the perfect cold winter's day food. Soup, dumplings - the salad i could take or leave but very appealing. I did have to look yp where this country was however and probably wouldn't travel there on purpose.
I think a lot of food all across the region from Central Europe to Central Asia will have some similarities, with their own regional twists. It was all very, very tasty!
An absolute perfect review! Nice to see that. Hope the restaurant can make a livin because food looks good and I know it tastes good just by looking at it.😊

Happy New Year Greeno. My cousin Arnold learned to make the most delicious soups while living in Berlin. I am not a soup person but this looks amazing. The bread looks like it's a cousin to focaccia. I'm fortunate enough to live in Toronto, which may be the food capital of the world; it is an amazingly diverse city. My Swedish aunt makes these amazing dumplings with shreeded potatoes on the outside with ham and onions on the inside;first day boiled, second sliced and fried. A local Polish deli makes that exact same salad and I LOVE it.
Who knew that Uzbekistan food would be so good. iT's so good to be able to sample food from around the world. What a find Greeno. Love it. All the best.👍👍 Jim and Harriet
Great to see you trying out soup and dumplings. Both favourites of mine. I enjoyed your review Greeno. Keep trying out non English restaurants because there is so much more out there for people to discover.
Could you buy for one but ask for two plates and share ? There was easily enough there for for myself and the better half , no way would I have finished that on my own. Never tried Uzbek food before but looked amazing 👍
I am absolutely sure they would be happy to do that - they were genuinely pleased to be introducing their cuisine to a novice, so they'd happily accomadate I reckon!
Next time, give the Plov a go, it's a very tasty rice dish and on the menu at any Uzbeki restaurant. Or alternatively give a Georgian restaurant a go. I worked in Eastern Europe for many years, and this was by far my favourite cuisine.
Yes, I do have to get to a Georgian restaurant! Plov is popular acrss the whole region from Bulgaria to central Asia isn't it - I will try some on the channel!
That soup looked good and perfect in this weather Dumplings looked good too and enough salad to feed the country! Nice to try something new and importantly introduce it to others to entice them to try. A good 5 for me.
Good choice of restaurant with great, hearty looking food. Three plates of it creates a massive lunch especially with that oversized salad. Not surprised you went for the take home package. Like those tucked away in a corner, not easy to find type restaurants. Reasonable price as well considering the good portions.
@ Yep about 25 minutes the road M5 Greeno. I really don’t think it’s a bad thing as we had some tired bodies over those festive games. Plus I didn’t get a ticket! I might have every chance in a rearranged fixture now on a Tuesday night! Are you off to Dean Court tomorrow? My Gaffa at work is a big Toffees fan and he is a scouser! 😂
Well done Greeno for reviewing an independent especially one in a market type environment. Food looked good and hearty but i woukd need some colour in there with some green veg or a leafy salad. Another great review Greeno.
They did have different salads available, so perhaps one of those could have offered the greenery you would crave - I just picked the one that sounded most interesting to me :-)
Never heard of Uzbekistan let alone Uzbek food, but looked amazing, especially the soup. The Pakistani place you must hit at some point. Fair play to you trying different cuisines, thank you for showing us this, looked so good.
It looked sooo good ❤ I couldn't help laughing a bit when you talked about trying traditional foreign food. I agree. That's why I watch you and Gary, to learn about your traditional food, which for me is just as foreign. 😊 Then you say 'imagine a Cornish pasty'. I can't. 😂😂😂 I have no idea what it is 😂😂😂
Greeno masticates The Urals. I agree with you on the power of soups and that they are a worthwhile and exciting starter with flavours you might be surprised with. I imagine your second course was too much for you with effectively 2 share plates. The salad looked great as well. You are doing well at finding some treasures, Mr G. I am so pleased you were able to take the leftovers back to Greeno Towers and it must have fed the family when you got home. I will interested to see where you go next. You Mastava bowl of that soup again soon. Fair prices too when there was enough there for two and it WAS central London - isn't Queenway in Bayswater?. Did you catch your train ?
Yes, I just about made it back to Waterloo in time!! I knew I overordered (even the guy working there told me so) but I wanted to try an show everyone the different flavours :-)
Soup looked delicious, dumplings looked amazing. Don't think I could eat more than three. The salad looked very tasty too. The portions are huge. Like you say, sharing plates for two or three people. I think Mrs. Greeno is going to enjoy those later. Great experience to be able to try and experience food from Asia in London. 👍
I do love coming acorss these little hidden gems - and being run by Uzbeks you know it's about as genuine as it's going to get outside of Uzbekistan itself! Really tasty, hearty food, and plenty of leftovers too!
You get a lot of food for your money, Greeno! You could easily share the manti between two or three people, looked and sounded delicious! As you said, good, hearty food!
Yes - that's what I reckon the best thing to do would be - get 4 of you together and order 4 or 5 dishes so you can try a bit of everything - really interesting, hearty food
Uzsbeky food? If that’s a country iv never even heard of it Greeno! Where is it? I have to say it looks amazing, I’d love to taste it. I don’t know where I would get that over here. I like the direction you are going with this kind of food. Garry had a weird breakfast thing yesterday. It had lots of cheeses in it and clotted cream, strange bread, a sausage, honey etc. but no not for me thanks. Give me a normal fry up any day. Great review 👍
Uzbekistan probably isn’t on most people’s holiday destination lists to be fair 🙂 I think it’s interesting to see and try new food. I did watch Gary’s Turkish breakfast video, looked alright to me, but I am a bit of a cheese monster!
I'm a coach driver that often parks at Bayswater Rd. I've been in that market in the past. Toss up between Syrian or Uzbek food for lunch next time I'm in the big smoke. If I'm east I do try to get me a pie and mash. In fact everytime I go to London I'm really torn with what to eat. Too much lovely choices
Love the diversity here! If you like this , have you tried Sichuan/Guangzhou soup pot , communal in the table centre and you select meats/veg/ mushrooms (straw is great) to dip and cook. Usually two soups, spicy and volcanic. If there is a Brazilian place they do meat flag well, they just keep bringing roasted/stewed bits of pig/cow until you drop your refill flag! Vegans not catered for...
I’ve seen those Chinese hotpot kind of places, but not been in one. Sounds like a plan sometime! I think that Brazilian concept you mention is Rodizio right?

Never tried this before - I’ll seek it out when next in London. Thanks.
I hope you will enjoy it as much as I did 🙂
Who knew that Uzbekistan food would be so good. iT's so good to be able to sample food from around the world. What a find Greeno. Love it. All the best.👍👍 Jim and Harriet
Glad you enjoyed it 🙂
Great to see you trying out soup and dumplings. Both favourites of mine. I enjoyed your review Greeno. Keep trying out non English restaurants because there is so much more out there for people to discover.
Yes, I am keen to explore a wide range of different cuisines this year, should be interesting!
Would like to see you go to stanbul and Gilbralter in the future just to mix it up.🖖
2 very different places!!
That soup looked good and perfect in this weather
Dumplings looked good too and enough salad to feed the country!
Nice to try something new and importantly introduce it to others to entice them to try.
A good 5 for me.
Yes, hopefully more people will try this food - it was exceptionally tasty! I am on a mission to try new things this year - off to a good start!
Thanks Greeno, something new to try out.. 😊😊
Exactly - I am hoping to showcase some less familiar cuisines on the channel this year...
Great start to the New Year Greeno, can I have some more please.
I'm going to try some new things throughout the year - should be interesting!!
Outstanding review, thanks.
Thanks, I appreciate that 🙂
Hey Greeno
Great review, good on you for trying something new.
Cheers from NZL
I intend to try a lot of new things this year, should be interesting!
Good choice of restaurant with great, hearty looking food. Three plates of it creates a massive lunch especially with that oversized salad. Not surprised you went for the take home package. Like those tucked away in a corner, not easy to find type restaurants. Reasonable price as well considering the good portions.
There's no way I would have found this place if I wasn't looking thats for sure - a proper hidden gem!
That food genuinely looked awesome!! I was impressed by the “salad” too a very hearty meal! What a find Greeno!! 👏👏 ….Smithy
Cheers Smithy! I see your game tomorrow is called off - a shame as that's only down the road for you!
@@theabandonedhunter3604 Yep, I'' be at Dean Court tomorrow - I think it's a day for the big coat!
Looked cracking that pal something different for the channel London prices can be cheap if you find the right place.👍🏻😁
Yes, get off the beaten track, and there are still well priced, very tasty options available!!
Great review , never come across that type of restaurant looks amazing Greeno.😜
Well worth trying if you ever come across it!!
HI good video looks nice food one I will look out for if I am in the right place at the right time. 👍😊👌
Yes, very tasty, hearty food. Well worth a try 🙂
Another great video. I'll see if i can find it here in Canada 🇨🇦 😊
Thanks, I am glad you enjoyed it. I hope you mange to track some Uzbek food down!
I love that you try these little hidden gems, huge respect to you Greeno 💚✌️, the dumplings looked so nice.
It's always interesting to try new things!!
Hi, thankyou for the different cuisine it's makes it interesting to see and the decor to , thanks Greeno 🐸
Glad you enjoyed it!
Love the new videos greeno x
Thanks Joanne!
Well done Greeno for reviewing an independent especially one in a market type environment.
Food looked good and hearty but i woukd need some colour in there with some green veg or a leafy salad.
Another great review Greeno.
They did have different salads available, so perhaps one of those could have offered the greenery you would crave - I just picked the one that sounded most interesting to me :-)
Nice to see something really different ,
Suppose Gary’s eating egg and chips somewhere? 😂
He had a Turkish breakfast on his channel yesterday :-)
It looks like a great restaurant ❤😊
A real hidden gem!
Never heard of Uzbekistan let alone Uzbek food, but looked amazing, especially the soup. The Pakistani place you must hit at some point. Fair play to you trying different cuisines, thank you for showing us this, looked so good.
I think it's really interesting finding out how other nations and cultures eat - I plan to do more of that this year :-)
@@GreenoEats Excellent, it will be nice for you to try new things and for us to live vicariously through you lol
It looked sooo good ❤
I couldn't help laughing a bit when you talked about trying traditional foreign food. I agree. That's why I watch you and Gary, to learn about your traditional food, which for me is just as foreign. 😊
Then you say 'imagine a Cornish pasty'. I can't. 😂😂😂 I have no idea what it is 😂😂😂
Haha, sorry about that, I can only compare things to foods I know 🤣🤣🤣
@GreenoEats Don't apologise. It's perfect 😘❤️ It just made me laugh 😊
Looked good. I live just outside London so I hope to give it a try.😁🏴
You absolutely should, always good to try new things 🙂
Great review Greeno, sometimes the ‘simple’ looking dishes are the ones packed with flavour😊
Yep - i am firmly of the belief that simple food cooked well is hard to beat!
Thank you Greeno for that one. In exactly one moth I'll visit London, and my hotel is not far from that place. Might try it.
Go for it, I expect you would enjoy it!!
The greenery got the better of Greeno! 🎥 📷
Haha - it seems it did!!
I did watch Gary’s Turkish breakfast video, looked alright to me, but I am a bit of a cheese monster!
food looked fantastic, nice one Greeno, good find
Yes - a real hidden gem!
Oh yes, now you're talking Greeno! That looked amazing. Very jealous
It really was good - if you get the chance try some Uzbek food!!
@GreenoEats
Definitely will try!
There are lots of really good options "off the beaten track" in London that don't have to cost the earth aren't there!
That soup looks amazing. I've found a recipe online and I'm going to make it !
Awesome - let me know how it turns out!!
Good review. Happy new year to you and your family
Thanks Rose. Happy New Year to you and yours too 🙂
Love the diversity here!
