    You made it so simple and easy for me to understand. Thank you. Just got my second heedle loom. A 32” can’t wait to start making a poncho with it.

    Hi Kelly. Please tell me, what is this beautiful yarn you are using as your warp. Also, thanks for all of your weaving videos they are great reference tools and I refer to them frequently.

    Hi. Technical question: If, when you threaded your stick, you skipped the very first pair of (right) warp threads, left them alone, and then did 1 up 1 down the rest of the way, wouldn't you get the same pattern and not have to do that little shuffle picking up the outer warp? Just not tell that outer thread to float? Do you get a different selvedge on that side?

      Hi Jeff, it's years since I did this video, so unfortunately I don't remember how it looked on the other side 😕 You definitely don't have to start your pick up pattern right from the edge though, you can leave threads not picked up to create sections or borders. It's lots of fun to just set up a sample warp and experiment 😊

    Hello Kelly! I love your wonderfully instructional videos, they are a great help.
    Shouls warp and weft yarn be of the same thickness for this particular pattern?

    • @KellyCasanova
      @KellyCasanova  6 лет назад +1

      They don't have to be the same weight, but your results will look different if you change the yarn weights. It's an interesting thing to experiment with and find out what you like :)

      Thank you! I will experiment.

    Can we have weft floats aswell to make the waffle weave stand out more? If so how? Thankyou 😊

      For weft floats you can place the heddle in neutral and the pick up stick on edge.

    First time seeing your videos. Very nice. How do you put the pickup stick in to pick up the warp threads for this pattern? Do you begin in neutral and go 5 up, 1 down? How is the pick up done?

    • @KellyCasanova
      @KellyCasanova  8 лет назад

      +Barbara Rickman The sequence for pick up is in the notes section here. 1 up, 1 down - so the heddle is in the down position and you are inserting your pick up stick under the first warp thread, over the second and repeat until you get to the other side. Hope this helps!

      +Kelly Casanova Ah! I did not look at the bottom of the page. Sorry for the silly question!

      No problem, it's a common issue :)

    can I ask u something? What kind of "thread" do u use to make the "undimbre" (i dont know how to say that in English, but it is the lines where u weave. Sorry, i hope u get the idea xd

    • @KellyCasanova
      @KellyCasanova  8 лет назад

      +Iv An I'm thinking you mean the weft? The yarn going horizontally across the warp threads. In this video I use a 10ply cotton.

    hi kelly, when you insert the pick up stick does the heddle have to be in the up, down or neutral position?

    • @hollynoscar3534
      @hollynoscar3534 8 лет назад +1

      ahhh never mind saw the answer below.... heddle down. ;)))

    • @KellyCasanova
      @KellyCasanova  8 лет назад

      Yep, always heddle down for pick up behind the heddle :)
