    I have been loving your videos! I am a novice weaver, but avid yarn and fiber artist, and I've been bingeing your videos whilst awaiting my loom's arrival! Just assembled and waxed my 24" Ashford loom and can't wait to get it started. It has been 4 years since I've used a Rigid Heddle or floor loom, but your videos have given me a new excitement to try more techniques. Stay safe and well

    I love seeing the possibilities of different things with a pick up stick. It's excited seeing the different things that can be done with weaving.

    Being new to rigid heddle weaving I have been really loving watching your very informative videos. I am an addictive yarn worker so I’m enjoying learning a new way to create with yarn. It is also a great way to use up some of my yarn!!! Thank you for your helpful & clear instructions.

    Thank you, Kelly! I am always looking for lacey patterns. I am putting this one on my list. My 16" Ashford rigid heddle came two days ago. I finished the wood with an oil stain in dark pine and assembled it today. I am waiting a few days before I warp it. I am still reading instructions and viewing RUclips videos.

    the twisting part is very similar to "sprang" weaving - apparently it was a viking type of twisting of wool to make bags, hairnets, gloves and socks

    • @KellyCasanova
      @KellyCasanova  3 года назад

      Yes, I'm familiar with sprang. I haven't tried it though, have you? 😊

    Beautifully explained as usual. Is there a difference in the appearance if you use the closed shed method? I am guessing not. I plan to use this to make a lamp shad cover ( it arrived dented) and curtains, I was so happy to see you explain it, thank you so much Kelly 💕💕💕

    • @KellyCasanova
      @KellyCasanova  3 года назад

      I haven't actually tried on an open shed, so I'm not sure!

    Hi kelly, so glad you're offering this class. I'm wondering if you will show double weave as well? I want to make a leash for my pup, and the one i want to make needs to be double weave, so the two halves can be separated for a bit of a second handle closer to the pup. I have a store bought one but would love to make her one of my own. Thanks again and looking forward. Joy

    I had never seen this weave before and discovered it by accident when someone put the word Leno down in Words with Friends. I looked it up for the meaning and was fascinated. I might try it. I only have an inkle loom but I use rope heddles to make sheds so I think it would still work if my warp is wide enough.. What do you think.
    I think I could make some nice hair bands using Leno.

    • @KellyCasanova
      @KellyCasanova  11 месяцев назад

      I'm not sure, I've never tried it on an inkle loom, but feel free to experiment 😊

  • @lain5900
    @lain5900 3 года назад

    This is a cool technique! Any way this could be used with tablet weaving? Maybe it'll be a whole different effect? I think I will have to experiment...

    • @KellyCasanova
      @KellyCasanova  3 года назад +1

      I haven't tried that, I'm not sure how it would work out considering tablet weaving is usually so condensed rather than open and light. But yeah, definitely have a play with it and see if you come up with anything interesting 😊

  • @MsScooter321
    @MsScooter321 3 года назад

    Great tutorial! As your weave is thick and looks a little tough to beat, would it be possible to leave the pickup stick in place for that first row and use it to beat with, instead of the heddle? Would that work?

    • @KellyCasanova
      @KellyCasanova  3 года назад

      Yes, I have done that before, but I find a follow up beat with the heddle is also helpful 😊

    Are the things on etsy the same as on the teaching weaving class?

    • @KellyCasanova

      A couple of patterns are the same as classes, but most are projects I don't have classes for. The pattern instructions are written in detail with colour photos, and some have links to additional video resources.

    Hi Kelly, Im just doing an article for Ashford wheel magazine on Leno weave. is it ok if I say in it that I used your video to learn the technique and include its title and possibly a link just to let people know where to find it.
