  • Popping a row of beads in your leno lace is easy! I thought this was a reasonably well known thing, but my weaving group on FB asked for a tutorial so maybe not.
    It's also not MY weaving group, I'm just in it.
    The yarns in use in this video are Ella Rae Marmel in Golden Garnet for the weft, and Sheepjes Skies Light in shades 116 and 117 for the warp. I have no idea who made the beads, I have had them forever.

    I especially love how you talk to your beads. I always thought I was the only one who did that :)

    First, it's not proper handmade if the pets aren't involved. lol I see non-slip rug fabric in there, that's brilliant, will have to try it! And you talk to your projects like I do. Cool technique, thank you!

      The non slip stuff is a shelf liner which works really well for packing beams, especially if you need extra padding. I'm also glad to hear there's a whole group of people who talk to their weaving!

    I never would have thought of this. Thank you! I have added beads to my hand-spun but never weaving. I will give this a try. Blessings.

    It's 4am in California. Enjoyed your sense of humor. Nice having a new technique to finish off a scarf. Thank you. Can you do more tutorials on the rigid heddle loom?

      Hi Sharon! I'm not actually a particularly exciting weaver so I'm not sure what else I could do a tutorial for. However, Kelly Casanova ( ruclips.net/channel/UCSyQw0Q5N6tMm_4YjvyhklQ ) and Amy D McKnight ( ruclips.net/channel/UCIJEAR4FAtxjXuJJKSAZlcQ ) both have a great collection of lessons and tutorials.

    Thanks for this. Love the look with the beads. Quick question. Do you do anything special to protect your beads and the weaving when you roll it forward onto the roller? Like extra padding or something?

    • @Frogglin
      @Frogglin  3 года назад +3

      Hi Heather! I'm so sorry, I missed your comment. I didn't do anything to protect the beads on this project as the yarn was quite squishy and the beads very sturdy. If I was using finer yarn, I'd add some padding before winding on.

      @@Frogglin can I ask what size beads you use and heddle ?

    • @Frogglin
      @Frogglin  2 года назад

      @@jennyshields323 Hi Jenny! This one was a 7.5 dent heddle and 10mm beads, but since the beads don't go through the heddle, and sit in the leno lace gaps, you could vary that easily to fit any dent and it should work

    Thanks for this video. I have one question- when winding on, do the beads cause a tension problem?

    • @Frogglin
      @Frogglin  11 месяцев назад

      Not that I noticed, I did cover them on the front beam with some thicker padding than I'd normally use which helped keep things tensioned.
