This is the best warping instructions I have seen on RUclips. I have been watching a lot of them and you are clear and give instructions in a very organized way with extra hints I have not seen anywhere else. Specifically tying only half the warp together to separate them. Thank you so much for taking the time to do this for us.
I agree with the other commenters, this is far and away the best warping tutorial on RUclips. You remember several important details like keepingbthe top and bottom sections seperate, and not letting the yarn pass through your hand as you roll.
great teacher. Slow, clear and precise. My wife is learning and I'm her back up. We figure two old brains are as good as one young one. Thanks for your teaching abilities.
You take the fear out of this. You have a very calming voice and you can tell that there is no stress or frustration. It is a simple job and you show it in the simplest way totally calm. Thank you so much for this. I am planning on purchasing a loom and this has been a part that has me concerned the most. I have watched many videos and this was the most informative without the negative feelings.
Thankyou. This is the first video I've watched where I dont feel like an idiot for being a beginner. Your instructions are clear, not condescending and you explain why you are doing things rather than just telling!
Terrific video it has helped me immensely. I hope all is well. I noticed you have not done any videos in a long time. I hope this message makes your way and that I can encourage you to do some more weaving videos. Thank you for the share.
I'm an intermediate weaver and this is the best RH warping video I've seen in ten years of looking at them on youtube. Amazingly well done and your teaching skills are just wonderful!
I agree with some of the other folks that left comments. You are a fabulous instructor and you made the tutorial clear enough that a newbie like myself wasn't scared to death to even try to warp my new loom. Thank you.
As a total beginner I wish to say thank you, thank you, thank you. You are the most clear presenter and I've learned more about the general method from this video than I ever could comprehend from previous videos. Great instruction!
You are an excellent teacher! Your video was so much better than the Schacht videos. Honestly, until I found your video, I was ready to tear my loom apart and return it. Thank you for taking the time to explain everything so completely!
I have watched hours and hours of videos before I finally ordered my loom. I waxed and assembled it yesterday. Your video is absolutely the most helpful one. Thank you so much! I’ve subscribed and hope to see more videos from you.
Great teacher.. border-line hypnotic creamy voice. Your tips and tricks were Clear - precise - super neat and organized to a T. I will definitely use your video to teach my girls.. Thank you very much..
After a Career of learning to do things by RUclips videos, I have never seen a better, clearer, or better explained video. My wife has a 10" Cricket so we have subscribed just to refresh ourselves on how to use it.
I had a so called teacher. I quit before I got started. I was so jittery and nervous. I just threw away the loom she sold me. With this video. I am now going some where else buying me a loom and going to try to just t warp the loom. When I do , I found a new place to take rigid heddle loom classes. I talked to the teacher. She sound great. This video is great for learning. So easy. A 2 year old could do it.
Your instructions are wonderful! I wish I had seen this video before I warped my Cricket loom the first time last week, although in the end everything worked out. I will be incorporating your techniques for my next warp. Thank you very much for creating and sharing this lesson. I'd love to come see you in Nova Scotia! 😊
I could not have learned to get started on the Cricket Loom without this video! I am able to borrow the loom from my Library for a two week period. That means I have to return the loom, and start over again for another two week period. When my memory needs refreshing I turn to your videos. For now I am just doing small projects to see if I want to make the investment in my own loom someday.
You can’t imagine how great this video is to me! I have a tabletop weaving loom and so scared to learn it, but after watching you show how to warp a loom, I feel so much confidence that I can do this. I sooooo much thank you for making this video and giving so much great advice as you warped your loom. Many, many thanks🥰
Best clear, concise, step by step warping video I've seen on you tube! I'm no longer a newbie but still very novice & this method makes warping so much easier. Really? You only knot half after cutting off the peg[s]? What a game changer!
Perfect warping instructions with added wisdom from someone who has been doing this for a while!! Calm, clear and organized! I'm getting started with ease. Thank you so much!!
I love watching your video. It's a great tutorial and I love your instruction to keep the upper threads separated out. Your voice is very soothing and helps take the fear of warping away from us new weavers. Thank you so much. I wished you had more videos that I could just listen and enjoy learning from you!!!
I began watching this as i was feeling unwell and migrainey, wanted something soothing. Seriously this is the best tutorial I've seen. The one thing that puts me off a table loom is knowing how to set up the warp and the technical info about yarns etc and this tutorial just perfectly explained everything.
I may have watched this warp instruction a 1,000 times & bingo...I did it! Thank you, Violet Unicorn! Your instructions are to the point, clear & gave me confidence to try & succeed in warping my new Cricket loom.
I just purchased this loom yesterday and cried happy happy tears for my beginners journey to weaving ❤ Watching you today makes me feel even more excited for when it arrives in a week 🎉
Hi Violet, Thanks so much for this straightforward introduction. Haven't done any weaving since I was a teen...and my interest has been sparked recently..at 69! Greetings from Mexico...thanks again❤
Just drug my cricket loom out to show my 6 year old grandson how to weave on something smaller than my big one and needed a little review on how to warp it. I agree with all the other comments on this being the best instructional video I have seen on RUclips. You have a fantastic teaching style and watching the warping from start to finish with all the tips and extra hints along the way was exactly what I needed. You are just brilliant and I will look for more videos in the future. Thanks so so much!
I really appreciate your thoroughness and attention to detail throughout this video... Very easy to understand each step and follow along, as well as pointing out useful common mistakes to avoid. Thank you!
Thank you so much for this video! I just bought my loom yesterday and was completely confused by the written instructions that came with it. It took me 2 tries with your video to get the loom warped properly but because of your video, I immediately knew what the problem was on the first try. Now I'm off to see if you have any 'what to do once your loom is warped' videos. :)
My RH arrived today, never had a go at weaving before! Just watched your video and feel ready to go! Thanks so much. Clear, concise and also very relaxing!
Thank you sooo much for this tutorial! The best I have seen, easy to understand and great close ups - very helpful! May try to make a wider project next time - yikes!! Anxiously awaiting your next video - I also loved the video on different types of yarn - also excellent tips! Thanks again so much!
Immensely useful video - and so calming. As a floor-loom weaver and weaving teacher, it's been my experience that the very THOUGHT of warping freaks many people out. Impossible to freak with your quiet, patient voice explaining the process and pitfalls. Thank you.
I’ve watched several warping vids. You had some techniques that others didn’t! Thank you so much. I’ve had my 10” cricket for years and kind of ignored it. New hobby starting now.
I must tell you. I completely talked myself out of purchasing a loom because of some videos I watched made this seem so hard. Thank you thank you thank you!!!! Now I’m getting one because of how easy you’ve shown in this video. I’m so excited now. 😘😘😘
I’m a beginner weaver and have searched many videos for assistance. I finally came across yours and couldn’t be happier. Your style of teaching is very easy to follow. Thank you!
You are an excellent teacher! I have been wanting this particular loom for soooooooooo long and I have been afraid that I wouldn't understand this as I have never used a loom before but this video explains everything SO well. Thank you!
thank you so much ! I borrowed a loom from my school and was quite intimidated, never warped a loom before . Didn't know how to use this cricket loom but with your help i manage to warp the loom and start weaving!!! wow !! I can't believe i did it. and all thanks to you!!! :D much blessings!!
An amazing tutorial, chock full of good tips. I am awaiting my flip loom (I am assuming the process is the same) and this video will be immensely helpful. So glad to know cotton should NOT be my first project! Thank you.
Best information I have found for warping. Others assume you already know this information such as changing colors and what to do if there is a knot. Thanks.
Wow! I've watched at least a dozen warping videos and this was by far the best one! Thanks so much! I've had a problem with warping tension and I think keeping the top and bottom (right/left) separate will help a lot! Thanks so much for all the other great tips, too!
Thank you for this video! I’ve watched a lot of videos on warping the loom and this is BY FAR the best technique for me! I love how tidy and organized your strings are throughout the whole process.
I just got a Cricket 15 inch loom, and thanks to your excellent guidance, I completed my first project today! I'm starting on another project which might actually become a scarf instead of a "table thingie." Thank you for doing these videos.
THANK YOU! I've read the instructions and took the online course and read the instructions and looked at the video more and and and .... Also checked out several YT videos. Everyone seems to say it's random which thread stays in the slot and which goes in the hole but I have not found that to be true and kept ending up with a shed with the heddle up but not down. Did a test run with you method and 12 threads (24) and wallah!
Thank you for a great video on warping the Cricket Loom. Your explanation was very clear, and the close ups of the warping are so helpful. The tips you gave should make the job a lot easier.
Thank you so much for this video.I am a spinner about to ‘cross to the dark side’ and start weaving and this is by far the best video...so so much better than the manufacturers own. If you could produce some more instructional videos for this loom that would be great ( avoiding wobbly edges maybe)I am in the UK and taking a class with you is obviously not an option.
This was so helpful, the other tutorials I watched weren't very informative, you really take the time to explain and show without speeding up the video. Excellent :) Would love to see a video about a simple project for a beginner.
I have been wanting to learn how to weave and had planned to take a class. But with COVID-19 my plans had been put on hold. I found your video and after watching it through, I feel confident I can do it! I will be ordering a cricket loom asap and can't wait to get started. Thank you for sharing your expertise and taking the time to explain the process.
Thank you so much for this. I have watched many videos and even a Craftys class and your video was best. I feel confident to go forward in weaving after hesitation for at least a year!!
Fantastic tutorial!! Thank you so much for all of the wonderful close-ups and explanations!! You are an amazing teacher with a clear, friendly voice. I am a beginner and couldn't be more excited!!
Thank you, your instructions are simply the best I have seen, which is why I have subscribed for the first time ever on RUclips 😀You are clear, precise and your voice is very calming.😀
This video was very helpful. I had put aside my loom for a while and wanted to get back into it. This video was the perfect refreshers course for my setup! Thank you for sharing!
That trick with the knot so you can flip the strands you want in the slots is soooooo clever.
This is the best warping instructions I have seen on RUclips. I have been watching a lot of them and you are clear and give instructions in a very organized way with extra hints I have not seen anywhere else. Specifically tying only half the warp together to separate them. Thank you so much for taking the time to do this for us.
I agree! When she only tied half I was like... hey you didn’t tie the other group lol
I echo that! Clear, precise, easiest method for threading the holes I have ver seen. Wow and thank you!
I agree with the other commenters, this is far and away the best warping tutorial on RUclips. You remember several important details like keepingbthe top and bottom sections seperate, and not letting the yarn pass through your hand as you roll.

I really do love her work. That looks incredible beautiful. They do all a great job.
This is the most amazing instruction on RUclips. I was considering giving up trying to learn to loom. I will continue to watch you for instructions.

Thank you for this good instruction. I am sorry you do not live in Netherlands…. I need a good teacher here 👍🏻😀
