Also I've said it before but I'll say it again: if you're apologizing to someone exclusively because you want them to forgive you, that ain't an apology.
Similarly, if politicians are covering themselves to look better in the public eye, that does not mean they're actually good people. Just means they're good at keeping up with public appearance. Actually showing personal growth and care is WAY different from covering yourself to get people to like you.
Random tip: if you have trouble with doing your hygiene at night, wear make up in the day. It doesn’t have to be a full face, it could just be a bit of eyeliner or eyeshadow. Something small. I’ve been doing this lately and it’s helped a lot. I actually stay on top my routine more! It’s just a small tip that I use that helps me so I wanted to share it to see if it can help anyone else. If you really don’t feel like doing an entire routine some nights. You can just wipe off the makeup with a makeup wipe. I hope this helps someone!❤

I've come to realize that whenever I have something coming up that involves interacting with other people I have little "rehearsals" with myself about what to say in case any possible questions come up or any likely interactions occur. I would love to learn more about thriving within and being apart of the ecosystem from native peoples. I know this isn’t really it, but I got a book called “The Lost Ways” that discusses a lot of pioneer methods to build homes, preserve food, etc. I don’t know how much if it is sustainable, but there are some that are.

Especially bc a lot of people saying this aren't even genuinely suggesting that you go to a psychiatrist (or something similar), they're just trying to insult you without directly saying "you're crazy". Huge difference between saying "get help" and genuinely showing care towards someone and giving them the resources to get help.

I just found out my cousin agrees with jk Rowling. I’m not surprised tbh, cause he’s said some transphobic things to me in the past, (like “you are what you were born as” or “there are only 2 genders that exist”) but I’m still upset especially cause I can’t really avoid him and I know my family will take his side :( I also recently realized that he’s been saying a LOT of ableist bs and holds a lot of ableist ideologies, especially about autism. 1:26 this video reminded me of how I didn’t know what gay was till I was like 11. I really wish they taught about that stuff in school sooner. Im glad at least there’s some kids books explaining someone can have two moms etc nowadays. I never saw books like that when I was a kid, and I think people banning books like that at schools is wrong.
I work at a library and it is nice to see queer books in the children's section. Even if they don't get checked out, just having these books on the shelves would have been amazing for me as a kid, they've become just as normal/expected in there as Pete the cat or elephant and piggy

This person has BIID, Body Integrity Identity Disorder. This, under my understanding, causes the person to feel like a certain body part should not exist on their body, causing them to have a strong desire to amputate or seek paralyzation. For this person, it's their ears and sense of hearing. The original commenter taught the person ways to sustain the sensation of being deaf, which was very kind of them to help. While I may not know everything, this only took me a single minute of scrolling in this exact comment and then googling something, so kindly I ask that you scroll and google before you comment. I know you're not supposed to get attached to online friends but I've known them for like 2 years now, recently we haven't talking much since she drifted out of the undertale/au fandoms. Occasionally we do talk, but it's not exactly the same as before. Most of my friendships have started because of me and friends rping au/undertale stuff, yes, even irl, i understand she had new fandoms to enjoy and different friends but sometimes i wish they did occasionally check in on me like i do her, I'm getting so tired of friendship and having to make friends but I don't really want to be lonely. My doctor gave me a paper today saying i have a permanent disability abd i kind of know i do but i feel guilty about it and getting help and every time i talk about stuff like it to doctors i feel guilty or like they are suspicious of me. I dont know why. It makes me feel alone because i worry i cant talk to people about stuff. I feel very paranoid a lot and like i am a bad person taking advantage of people even when i need help. Does anyone else experience this?
me too, I haven't gotten diagnosed with anything, but all I know is that something is wrong with me physically. Imposter syndrome, or feeling as if you are faking a condition, can be common when dealing with something that you have to describe to others rather than something that can be immediately perceived by someone else. A comforting phrase that I've heard in regards to that is "you'd know if you're faking it" but I'm unsure if that would help in this situation. It sounds like you should find someone IRL to talk about this to, but I know that can be hard to do. Perhaps if you do have a trusted friend/family member, you can start a conversation about what imposter syndrome is/learn more about it together, and then move it over into how it is that you specifically feel about certain things that you need or feelings you may have about your disability. Please use whatever aids/supports you need, treat your body with respect the same way you respect others!

I could not be happier that I lied to my schools psychologist. I knew that they would tell everything I say to Atlas' momeven though its all "confidential". If i told the truth I think I genuinely would have been put in a high risk mental hospital and that'd just make it even worse. The fact they legally have to tell your parents if you SH or are considering offing yourself is insane because like 75% of the time the person wants to do those things BECAUSE of their parents. It doesn't help anyone, it just puts already at risk people in danger.

I don't know if this a post you want comments on. But this "confidentiality" which they break to tell parents/guardians if stuff gets dangerous, is exactly why I watered down all my stuff at therapy. I really feel like therapists need to have a different way of dealing with high-risk people. Things could just get a lot worse for the person if the parents are involved. Therapy is such a pain for minors to navigate without having everything in their lives turned on its head.

My entire life could have been ruined if I slipped up and said the wrong word or me playing the court jester and jovially dancing around (not literally) wasn't convincing enough. I'm not even joking, my whole life could have been ruined. The psych once left a comment in an email to Atlas' mom that I kept yawning during the appointment and maybe I wasn't sleeping, and it turned into an hour long unhinged rant from their mom that we don't sleep at night.

@@elstarnor4628 Honestly, if your parents are the reason why you need therapy, then I heavily suggest getting help once you are moved out and don't speak with them. It's just not worth the risk IMO, it's better to just learn what behaviours are and learn how to deal with them and cope with them. Although I don't know what your situation is like, and you can decide what you think is best.
