In similar news, I saw an ant on the way out this morning, but when I took a closer look his head looked a little too squat and he was walking like he was looking for something rather than like he was going somewhere-as ants do. So I counted his legs and have identified my first ant mimic jumping spider. Very pleased about that. Write about someone noticing something about their environment that is special, but that they have taken for granted until now. A marking on a pet they hadn't noticed, the quality of a piece of furniture, a special piece stashed in the back of an inherited jewelry box, a freckle that may not have been there before. How does a person react when the background becomes the foreground, and the world opens up just a little bigger?

Traumatizing someone doesn't necessarily make you a horri8le person. And sometimes you didn't even do anything wrong. Trauma needs to 8e minimized 8ut it's not the end of the world! For example my friends have said some things a8out my voice that made me really insecure. They weren't mean or anything, they were neutral remarks, and they had no way of knowing it would hurt me. It still echoes through my mind regardless and I'd definitely say hearing those things was traumatizing. (Don't misinterpret this I'll eat you)
The 2003, third gen Strawberry Shortcake is the best one imo. Orange Blossom isn't whitewashed, and it has Ginger Snap and Huckleberry Fin. Only issue is I hate how much Custard complains, it's excessive.

Vent Period cramps suck :(( Amd it's not even just that I also still got school things to do and my dysphoria is continuing to get worse and there's nothing I can do about it. Cause it's so bad I can't even bring myself to do more than the stuff necessary to continue "normal routine" (aka still showing up in school, but not doing any homework. And outside of school just falling apart not able to do anything.)
My periods are usually extremely heavy, and my cramps are horrible-I need to be this checked out by my doctor. So that’s my warning to get them checked if they’re causing tons of pain. If you can take any medications to ease the pain before school, do so, and if you can in school, do it. I hope it gets better for you.
My periods were horrible to the point where I couldn’t function and also caused dysphoria, so I just asked my doctor if I could go on birth control to stop them and she said yes. You just go straight to the next pack instead of taking the placebo pills for a week after each month. I still have to have it once a year to make sure everything is working but it’s so much better than every month and I can pick when it is. I highly recommend

I recently saw someone mention a study about how well fitting cloth masks are better at preventing people from spreading covid than the ill fitting surgical masks. I don’t know if that’s the same for contracting it or not but that’s what I’ve heard about spreading it. Any mask is better than nothing and the best mask is the highest quality mask that you’ll wear and is available to you. r/Masks4All can probably help you find a charity willing to send you some respirators but don’t beat yourself up too bad about having trouble accessing good protection since it sounds like you’re still dependent on your parents. I’m sorry your parents aren’t educated on how covid damages the immune system. I’m in a similar but different situation. I’m chronically ill(likely because of covid) and high risk and while my parents understand that covid is bad, they keep telling me I can’t control other people and that they need to live their lives. I hope you still have people in your life that understand that protecting themselves and others is important. I know most people have stopped caring and how hard it can be to feel like the only one left. There’s more of us out there than you think. A lot of us are either stuck inside or still try to avoid being in public unless it’s necessary but you aren’t alone. I want you to know that your efforts are still greatly appreciated and that they do make a difference. It might not seem like a huge difference but I promise it is :)

It has to be original characters (or characters that are different from source material appearance-wise). You can also do “friendly fire”, which is attacking someone on your own team. You can revenge someone by drawing one of their characters after they drew yours. There are two teams and every attack earns that team points for how it’s graded. i have a serious question for POC: I am white passing. I am not white. I am Mexican-American and Native American. My tribe was sadly colonized and lowkey white washed. My parents are perceived as Mexican (although still pale-ish) while all grandparents were/are dark. etc. I am the palest one. and again, I 100% look white except my face shape but usually other natives are the only ones to tell from the start. I am currently 15, I hardly have a voice when it comes to speaking up rn. as soon as I can, I want to change that. and I was wondering, since I look white, should I just stay back a bit and amplify the voices of people who look like they're poc? or would I be able to have my own voice? I'm guessing the former. since racism isn't as severe for me as it is for darker poc. and none of this is sposed to be racist, I'm just trying to see where I fit. I don't want to step on people during my fight for equality and such. responses and thoughts would be appreciated from everyone, but mainly POC. also y'all think I could even consider myself a POC? You’re a person of color if you aren’t Caucasian, and you absolutely can speak against the racism. This is coming from a Black Jamaican-American. Just because you haven’t experienced as much racism as someone else has, doesn’t mean that you don’t experience it, or that it isn’t “enough” racism to speak up on these issues-I, for example, have not been outwardly discriminated against for my race as much as others, but I still speak up about my issues because it still affects me, and speaking up on my issues not only helps me, but others. I still feel guilty for indulging in my Jamaican (or Caribbean) culture, and having an American accent because I was born and raised in America, I feel guilty for talking about the issues Jamaicans face because I was born and raised in America, but I’m still Jamaican (Black, and of a Caribbean race I don’t know right now), and the racism and discrimination they face still affects me. Jamaican isn’t a race by the way, it is a nationality, an ethnicity-I’d also be considered Caribbean-American (Caribbean isn’t a race either, but an ethnicity), and I’m not sure of my Caribbean race as of now. You can absolutely have your own voice about this, and amplify other’s, too.
from the vibes i'm gettin', the way u feel abt urself not passing shouldn't mean ur any less as a POC. i believe ur voice should be unashamedly loud bc, not only were u born + descended from the same blood as your tribe, but ur also fighting for the same causes. every POC come in all shades, like for e.g my community here in SEAsia. most malays aren't just brown. some of us are pale, some dark skinned (like me :), some not have typical facial features (bawang noses or high cheeckbones) and can even pass as another minority, but we're still malays. no matter the pigments in our skin (a lil ironic but still). ik it'll take a while to accept urself, but even if it "isn't severe" your experiences is always valid bc just a lil bit is still a form of discrimination. idk i ran out of smart things to say but yea spreadin totes of support from Austronesia

I’ve felt similarly before, I’m very white looking because my dad is a very pale Dominican and my mom is White. I definitely think that having that self awareness about wanting to know when to use that privilege to support others and boost their voices already shows that you are pretty awesome👍

Started working on a new story today :) Im abt 2 chapters in and Its really good so far It's about this person named Business (I am absolutely perfect at names I know) and how they navigate this weird ass world I put them In. There's this one main train that runs through everywhere and has a bunch of different cars, all with vastly different environments. They stay on the train and investigate the cars instead of leaving to investigate the (more interesting but much more terrifying) places the train stops at. I kinda wanted It to resemble how I am constantly fighting with myself between liking familiarity and routine, and liking adventure and change. Business (They/them): Strangely normal looking person in a crisp suit, dark skin, dark eyes, short hair, and a briefcase with nothing in it (at least when the story starts!). Hates change but gets bored easily as well (yippee internal conflict), generally an anxious disaster. Monotone voice and minimal facial expressions (me fr!). Has no stop.
Moss (they/them): Baggy clothes, earthy tones, and long fluffy hair! They're somewhat bug like in appearance with very long, thin limbs, and have two claw-like things coming out from their face which they use to hold up a newspaper. Not socially awkward, awkwardly social, but incredibly friendly and tends to ramble, raspy voice. Their stop is very cloudy and rainy, yet light and sweet-smelling. Almost completely overgrown and filled with gigantic trees which form a kind of roof.
Angel (he/him): Biblically accurate angel looking ass- Long hair, long dress, six wings, and two eye-covered rings surrounding his head. Tan skin covered in yellow star-shaped tattoos. Lots of white, purple, and gold. Emits a cold aura constantly due to his hot environment, and almost 9 feet tall. Very chill (lol), "go with the flow" type of person, but can be utterly terrifying if he wants to be. Almost always smiling. His stop is an expanse of rolling hills and flowers in every colour, dotted with bright red and white lighthouses of all heights. There is no water.
Kitty (she/her): The scraggliest, skinniest, weirdest little cat you've ever seen. Strangely angular, black fur, four red eyes, MANY rows of SHARP teeth (like a shark). Probably feral. Sally's pet cat that xe picked up while traveling, can tell whether a person is "good" or not instantly. Hates Business at first but eventually grows to love them. Her stop is pretty much a whole town of haunted mansions but like, in a kids cartoon. Very whimsical and full of purple.
Was at a competition between a bunch of schools and the presenter called my team "boys" :) It was me and 3 cis guys I really needed the bathroom tho but I couldn't go cos they'd notice me un the mens:( Got third place tho :)
During the last two years of highschool I would walk to my mom's workplace after school so I wouldn't have to ride the bus, which was a bit of a long walk. The one intersection that I'd have to cross usually didn't have a working button for the crosswalk, and a couple places where I had to cross at didn't have an official marked crosswalk. Then when I was getting close to the road where her workplace was, I'd have to cross a very busy road without a crosswalk. I could have crossed at the intersection leading to it, but then I'd have to walk next to the bar there, where adults tended to hang out outside, so I didn't feel comfortable walking by there, hence crossing further down the one road. Then when I did cross, the sidewalk ended at a certain point and I'd have to start walking on the road which was okay during warm weather, though during the winter I'd try my best to stay off it since it was a brick road (very slippery during winter). Then I'd have to cross again without a crosswalk, to reach the small amount of sidewalk that ended at the parking lot of my mom's workplace. Also, the sidewalks wouldn't be shoveled during winter, so I'd have to walk through snow for a good chunk of it. Even though this route was pretty mild compared to what it's like further uptown, I'd definitely agree that towns/cities aren't as walkable as some people would like to think 🫤

I have a special interest in psychology, and I know quite a lot about dissociative disorders. If you’re asking about DID specifically it is “dissociative identity disorder”, dissociative identity disorder is caused by severe (depends on how people experience and process things) and repeated trauma as a child (usually from ages 5-9, though this may vary), due to the trauma people with DID face, their ego states, as a child, will not fuse together to create a singular personality, and the brain will try to cope with the trauma by forming alters (which is called splitting), and will put up amnesic barriers to protect the people experiencing it of their trauma, the amnesia (dissociative amnesia) needs to be recurrent to have DID. Lots of people are not aware of their DID because of the fact that the disorder tries to hide itself from the people experiencing it. In order to be diagnosed with DID (or to have it) there needs to be 2 or more distinct personality states or alters (identities). Fragments also exist inside DID and other dissociative disorders, they are less distinct or not fully formed alters/identities. DID, and OSDD-1B as they are very similar, are in relation to PTSD and/or C-PTSD. This disorder causes disturbance and interference in everyday life, for example: An alter besides the host(system hosts are alters that front most often, or take on most of the bodies life activities) could be fronting, and when they switch (switching is when an identity state is shifting from one state to another, so a different person would be in the body, and by being in the body, I mean physically there) the person that is fronting now would have little to no recollection of another alters activities, and they usually don’t share any/most memories. OSDD-1B (OSDD-1B is not an actual diagnosis(not recognized by the DSM), and is just recognized as OSDD as of now. OSDD-1B is exactly that of DID without the recurrent amnesia between switches, and/or memories. OSDD-1B systems are usually co-conscious, not always, but mostly (conscious of each-other’s actions-such as what others are doing whilst fronting, and memories.) A system in DID/OSDD: A group of alters in one’s mind/brain-since the brain is where it stems from. A host: A alter that fronts most often, or take on most of the bodies life activities. Not all systems have a host, and switch/front for different purposes/functions primarily instead. A fragment: An alter that is not distinct or fully formed. Many of these are found in polyfragmented systems. Polyfragmented systems: Systems that have a complex structure, usually with many alters and/or fragments, subsystems, and a complex inner-world (also known as headspace. Headspace is usually where alters talk, meet, and interact.) Polyfragmentation usually occurs in systems that’s trauma was perpetual, or a result of RAMCOA (a type of abuse). It is also a common misconception that OSDD-1B systems can’t be polyfragmented, but they can. Headspace/Inner-world: Where alters usually come to meet, discuss, and even live life’s inside of the bodies mind, or not on earth/the real world as these are in the mind, apart of the imagination, and constructed by the brain. Not all systems have an inner-world. This is just about the dissociative disorder DID, along with OSDD-1B. I recommend doing your own research.

14:49 i'd love to start masking correctly but idk where to get said masks and my family already thinks it's weird that i still use cloth masks, and when i use the noncloth ones that we have she gets mad that im "wasting masks" and that she's saving them for if something "new or worse" starts (as if covid isnt already bad enough). not to mention both of my parents think im getting "weak" and that i shouldnt mask bc not masking will build my immune system to covid so theres that too. im still wearing my cloth masks and all that but i feel bad because im not doing any real protection
I recently saw someone mention a study about how well fitting cloth masks are better at preventing people from spreading covid than the ill fitting surgical masks. I don’t know if that’s the same for contracting it or not but that’s what I’ve heard about spreading it. Any mask is better than nothing and the best mask is the highest quality mask that you’ll wear and is available to you. r/Masks4All can probably help you find a charity willing to send you some respirators but don’t beat yourself up too bad about having trouble accessing good protection since it sounds like you’re still dependent on your parents.
I’m sorry your parents aren’t educated on how covid damages the immune system. I’m in a similar but different situation. I’m chronically ill(likely because of covid) and high risk and while my parents understand that covid is bad, they keep telling me I can’t control other people and that they need to live their lives.
I hope you still have people in your life that understand that protecting themselves and others is important. I know most people have stopped caring and how hard it can be to feel like the only one left. There’s more of us out there than you think. A lot of us are either stuck inside or still try to avoid being in public unless it’s necessary but you aren’t alone. I want you to know that your efforts are still greatly appreciated and that they do make a difference. It might not seem like a huge difference but I promise it is :)

It has to be original characters (or characters that are different from source material appearance-wise). You can also do “friendly fire”, which is attacking someone on your own team. You can revenge someone by drawing one of their characters after they drew yours. There are two teams and every attack earns that team points for how it’s graded. Yesterday I went outdoor rock climbing right next to the ocean which was really cool, even though the hike to get there was really steep and exhausting. Definitely the most dramatic place I’ve ever climbed!

It's my B-day tomorrow. A lot of people can't make it, but my family and I have made some plans. (By a lot of people, I mean like 5 people I invited to the party out of 7.)
Tomorrow will be the party (and every guest is testing for covid beforehand) with some bad shark and dinosaur movies, along with dino and shark themed foods (all dye free since I'm allergic), and then I get to go to the flea market with my Dad sat to look for miniatures, and on Sun get to forage in the woods and pick a place to get dinner from.

i have a serious question for POC:
I am white passing. I am not white. I am Mexican-American and Native American. My tribe was sadly colonized and lowkey white washed. My parents are perceived as Mexican (although still pale-ish) while all grandparents were/are dark. etc. I am the palest one. and again, I 100% look white except my face shape but usually other natives are the only ones to tell from the start. I am currently 15, I hardly have a voice when it comes to speaking up rn. as soon as I can, I want to change that. and I was wondering, since I look white, should I just stay back a bit and amplify the voices of people who look like they're poc? or would I be able to have my own voice?
I'm guessing the former. since racism isn't as severe for me as it is for darker poc. and none of this is sposed to be racist, I'm just trying to see where I fit. I don't want to step on people during my fight for equality and such.

You’re a person of color if you aren’t Caucasian, and you absolutely can speak against the racism. This is coming from a Black Jamaican-American. Just because you haven’t experienced as much racism as someone else has, doesn’t mean that you don’t experience it, or that it isn’t “enough” racism to speak up on these issues-I, for example, have not been outwardly discriminated against for my race as much as others, but I still speak up about my issues because it still affects me, and speaking up on my issues not only helps me, but others. I still feel guilty for indulging in my Jamaican (or Caribbean) culture, and having an American accent because I was born and raised in America, I feel guilty for talking about the issues Jamaicans face because I was born and raised in America, but I’m still Jamaican (Black, and of a Caribbean race I don’t know right now), and the racism and discrimination they face still affects me. Jamaican isn’t a race by the way, it is a nationality, an ethnicity-I’d also be considered Caribbean-American (Caribbean isn’t a race either, but an ethnicity), and I’m not sure of my Caribbean race as of now. You can absolutely have your own voice about this, and amplify other’s, too.

every POC come in all shades, like for e.g my community here in SEAsia. most malays aren't just brown. some of us are pale, some dark skinned (like me :), some not have typical facial features (bawang noses or high cheeckbones) and can even pass as another minority, but we're still malays. no matter the pigments in our skin (a lil ironic but still). ik it'll take a while to accept urself, but even if it "isn't severe" your experiences is always valid bc just a lil bit is still a form of discrimination. idk i ran out of smart things to say but yea spreadin totes of support from Austronesia

I’ve felt similarly before, I’m very white looking because my dad is a very pale Dominican and my mom is White. I definitely think that having that self awareness about wanting to know when to use that privilege to support others and boost their voices already shows that you are pretty awesome👍

Started working on a new story today :) Im abt 2 chapters in and Its really good so far
It's about this person named Business (I am absolutely perfect at names I know) and how they navigate this weird ass world I put them In. There's this one main train that runs through everywhere and has a bunch of different cars, all with vastly different environments. They stay on the train and investigate the cars instead of leaving to investigate the (more interesting but much more terrifying) places the train stops at. I kinda wanted It to resemble how I am constantly fighting with myself between liking familiarity and routine, and liking adventure and change. Gonna try to put character bios In the replies If yall r interested
Business (They/them): Strangely normal looking person in a crisp suit, dark skin, dark eyes, short hair, and a briefcase with nothing in it (at least when the story starts!). Hates change but gets bored easily as well (yippee internal conflict), generally an anxious disaster. Monotone voice and minimal facial expressions (me fr!). Has no stop.
Btw all of these names are placeholders so any suggestions would be loved!
Moss (they/them): Baggy clothes, earthy tones, and long fluffy hair! They're somewhat bug like in appearance with very long, thin limbs, and have two claw-like things coming out from their face which they use to hold up a newspaper. Not socially awkward, awkwardly social, but incredibly friendly and tends to ramble, raspy voice. Their stop is very cloudy and rainy, yet light and sweet-smelling. Almost completely overgrown and filled with gigantic trees which form a kind of roof.
Angel (he/him): Biblically accurate angel looking ass- Long hair, long dress, six wings, and two eye-covered rings surrounding his head. Tan skin covered in yellow star-shaped tattoos. Lots of white, purple, and gold. Emits a cold aura constantly due to his hot environment, and almost 9 feet tall. Very chill (lol), "go with the flow" type of person, but can be utterly terrifying if he wants to be. Almost always smiling. His stop is an expanse of rolling hills and flowers in every colour, dotted with bright red and white lighthouses of all heights. There is no water.
Kitty (she/her): The scraggliest, skinniest, weirdest little cat you've ever seen. Strangely angular, black fur, four red eyes, MANY rows of SHARP teeth (like a shark). Probably feral. Sally's pet cat that xe picked up while traveling, can tell whether a person is "good" or not instantly. Hates Business at first but eventually grows to love them. Her stop is pretty much a whole town of haunted mansions but like, in a kids cartoon. Very whimsical and full of purple.

During the last two years of highschool I would walk to my mom's workplace after school so I wouldn't have to ride the bus, which was a bit of a long walk. The one intersection that I'd have to cross usually didn't have a working button for the crosswalk, and a couple places where I had to cross at didn't have an official marked crosswalk. Then when I was getting close to the road where her workplace was, I'd have to cross a very busy road without a crosswalk. I could have crossed at the intersection leading to it, but then I'd have to walk next to the bar there, where adults tended to hang out outside, so I didn't feel comfortable walking by there, hence crossing further down the one road.
Then when I did cross, the sidewalk ended at a certain point and I'd have to start walking on the road which was okay during warm weather, though during the winter I'd try my best to stay off it since it was a brick road (very slippery during winter). Then I'd have to cross again without a crosswalk, to reach the small amount of sidewalk that ended at the parking lot of my mom's workplace. Also, the sidewalks wouldn't be shoveled during winter, so I'd have to walk through snow for a good chunk of it.
Even though this route was pretty mild compared to what it's like further uptown, I'd definitely agree that towns/cities aren't as walkable as some people would like to think 🫤

I've heard of DID, but does anyone know more of what it means?
I have a special interest in psychology, and I know quite a lot about dissociative disorders. If you’re asking about DID specifically it is “dissociative identity disorder”, dissociative identity disorder is caused by severe (depends on how people experience and process things) and repeated trauma as a child (usually from ages 5-9, though this may vary), due to the trauma people with DID face, their ego states, as a child, will not fuse together to create a singular personality, and the brain will try to cope with the trauma by forming alters (which is called splitting), and will put up amnesic barriers to protect the people experiencing it of their trauma, the amnesia (dissociative amnesia) needs to be recurrent to have DID. Lots of people are not aware of their DID because of the fact that the disorder tries to hide itself from the people experiencing it. In order to be diagnosed with DID (or to have it) there needs to be 2 or more distinct personality states or alters (identities). Fragments also exist inside DID and other dissociative disorders, they are less distinct or not fully formed alters/identities. DID, and OSDD-1B as they are very similar, are in relation to PTSD and/or C-PTSD.
This disorder causes disturbance and interference in everyday life, for example: An alter besides the host(system hosts are alters that front most often, or take on most of the bodies life activities) could be fronting, and when they switch (switching is when an identity state is shifting from one state to another, so a different person would be in the body, and by being in the body, I mean physically there) the person that is fronting now would have little to no recollection of another alters activities, and they usually don’t share any/most memories.
OSDD-1B (OSDD-1B is not an actual diagnosis(not recognized by the DSM), and is just recognized as OSDD as of now. OSDD-1B is exactly that of DID without the recurrent amnesia between switches, and/or memories. OSDD-1B systems are usually co-conscious, not always, but mostly (conscious of each-other’s actions-such as what others are doing whilst fronting, and memories.)
A system in DID/OSDD: A group of alters in one’s mind/brain-since the brain is where it stems from.
A host: A alter that fronts most often, or take on most of the bodies life activities. Not all systems have a host, and switch/front for different purposes/functions primarily instead.
A fragment: An alter that is not distinct or fully formed. Many of these are found in polyfragmented systems.
Polyfragmented systems: Systems that have a complex structure, usually with many alters and/or fragments, subsystems, and a complex inner-world (also known as headspace. Headspace is usually where alters talk, meet, and interact.) Polyfragmentation usually occurs in systems that’s trauma was perpetual, or a result of RAMCOA (a type of abuse). It is also a common misconception that OSDD-1B systems can’t be polyfragmented, but they can.
Headspace/Inner-world: Where alters usually come to meet, discuss, and even live life’s inside of the bodies mind, or not on earth/the real world as these are in the mind, apart of the imagination, and constructed by the brain. Not all systems have an inner-world.
This is just about the dissociative disorder DID, along with OSDD-1B. I recommend doing your own research.
