I love Avatar but I'm starting to get sick of people spamming this so much... It's been 2 months, that's hardly anything, and there's nothing big or important about this video. I see people posting this constantly whenever there's more than a week of absence on any minor thing, just yet another thing the Internet has overused and worn out...
The jokes where Millie comes in are priceless. I had no idea about the Mega CD add-on features. That's really cool to customise your overall experience with this rom hack. From a technical point of view, it's quite an odd process that certain methods are unsuccessful, but the positives outweighed the negatives.
@SqweegeeYT Maybe because, judging by the post he made, the divorce was something that both RHS and his ex-wife agreed on for their own good. So RHS probably still has a good friendship with her
And MAYBE because of that, RHS doesn't see it as something THAT bad. Especially considering that he never said that he stopped posting because he was sad, but instead said it was because he had a lot of things to do, and he had to prioritize those things over his Chanel.
Dude, I love the little skits that you do with your family. It's very hilarious. Anyway, Awesome job with the review. I can't wait to see what you do next time.
I think the Mega Man (aka Rockman in Japan) music mostly comes from Mega Man Zero 3 on Game Boy Advance (the Zero series being one of my favorites) and some classic Mega Man games (like the NES and Famicom ones or could be The Wily Wars), come to think of it, Sonic Boom (not the show or the Wii U game, etc, the hack) has some themes from the Mega Man X series (X3 and X6 in particular), and Sonic MegaMix's options (CD version only I think) also has the Mega Man 2 Password theme (probably from Wily Wars). Oh and Pana (the Sonic hack that looks smooth) also has one from Mega Man 8 (when it turns winter) and it sounds exactly like it, and that was a PS1 and Saturn game.
Yeah the CD tracks especially almost all come from the Megaman Zero 3 Remastered Tracks (Remastered Tracks Rockman Zero Telos), I was shocked at just how many tracks from that game were used.
I could make a comment talking about how the joke at 0:38 hasn't aged well (or, well I guess it DID age well) like everybody else has since the you know what happened... And you know what I still will, honestly I don't know whether or not it makes that part funnier.
That boss at 4:51 really gave me a run for my own money but yet, the hack's got great taste in sound ports! Especially with Mega Man Zero 3's soundtrack...
7:35 The reason why it’s silence is because some systems take game CDs differently. Track 1 is the one with game data, and newer, smarter cd players automatically put it on mute due to not breaking the speakers, but older and less smarter ones do produce a screaming, uncomfortable noise.
“I was expecting some harsh noise to lash out and grate my ears, but to my surprise, you’ll only get pure silence.” May have been because the “game data” takes forever to finally play? Idk, I’m not a genius at stuff like that.
Hey RHS, I know things can seem pointless and really stressful, but you have so many fans that not only love the videos but you as a person, I and many, many others will respect whatever decision you make but I just wanted you to know I love your videos they have always been a fun time. Thanks RHS :)
I love these kind of videos you make, real hardware testing to let the world know whether the hack works or whether it's a dud. Well done RHS. Of course Sonic CD didn't play any music, it has an ISO track on it and Mega Drive games that use mode 1 redbook audio usually start from track 1, so it's either silent or an ear-raping noise.
@@redhotsonic I think it depends on the audio CD player, older CD players from the 80's and 90's tend to play the data track as noise but the later CD players from the early 2000's and DVD players always start the CD from track 2 and treat it as track 1.
Only CD players that aren't orangebook compliant try to play the yellowbook data track as a redbook audio track. Ones that are either skip or mute it - and given that Mega CD games are orangebook CDs, the Mega CD hardware is going to be orangebook compliant.
@@KopperNeoman My dad had a mini outdoor hi-fi stereo system once and that system's audio CD player always skipped the data track and played track 2 as track 1, and that CD player wasn't orangebook compliant, just a standard audio CD player, but it could play CD-RWs. I remember it quite well because I used to put the Mega-CD's The Terminator game disc in it and it always skipped the data track and started from the music.
If you want to have the CD audio that comes with the game on something like a mega everdrive pro one thing you'll need to do is convert all of the mp3s into wav and then edit the cue sheet to point to the wav files and remove the extra part of the text stating that it's an MP3
I was considering testing the actual Pro's and MegaSD's capability but I ran out of time. Plus, it's controversial if that counts as real hardware or not.
@@redhotsonic well fortunately I can confirm that it works, but you can't play the stand alone non CD version with it because it always detects the Sega CD support. And since the everdrive pro doesn't support MP3 playback you have to do the edits that I talked about above, or you could just rip whatever CD you want as a wav
@@redhotsonic that's strange, then I have no idea, it's always picked up the Sega CD portion whenever the person who was testing it would launch it from either the queue or even just the bin file on its own
I wonder, of all the games tested in the "Does it work on real hardware" series, will any of the "No" verdicts (like Cybernetic Outbreak and the enhanced 32x version of Sonic 1; The one that crashed on the SEGA splash) be given proper reviews on the emulated hardware they were rather built for?
Little warning to anyone planing to use the sega cd feature on real hardware. While it worked really well for me, the save at one point became unuseable. The game would crash when booting the game with the sega cd attached. While i was able to fix that by booting the game up without the sega cd. However more crashes followed. I just now decided to delete the sram file and beat the hack again but i have detached the sega cd while getting the chaos emeralds. This seems to have caused no corruption . Also on the previously corrupted save the Sega CD notice was instead the message for getting all emeralds. These points do let me believe that having the sega cd attached while unlocking super sonic might have broken something.
