First BDIWORH in 4K, baby! Also, you may have noticed that at 2:09, I have a disc called ‘Swiss’ instead of the Game Boy Player (GBP) disc. Swiss is used to loading up another software called the ‘Game Boy interface’ (GBi) which is far more superior and rich in features compared to the Game Boy Player’s software. This is to make the display look sharp as possible and in 4K as the GBP is pretty soft. THIS DOES NOT AFFECT THE HARDWARE and it's still using the Game Boy Player hardware; only the software was swapped. And just to be sure, I did quickly try all games using the GBP software off-camera and it resulted in the exact conclusion as the GBi. Also, yet again, thank you all for your incredible patience! The next BDIWORH will be the Sonic port on the commodore 64. Hopefully, within the next 2 months (time still isn’t on my side), I’ll make it worth the wait, I promise! 😊
With Sonic Adventure 8, the original cartridge should work on real hardware. I know the available ROM was incredibly hard to get dumped, and had to be modified to work on emulators, so that may cause issue with the Flash Carts. There are some videos floating around of it working on Game Boy Players from the past few years.

12:10 Since this issue doesn't exist on the real cart, there's nothing deceitful about fixing it. The original cartridge uses a mapper unsupported by emulators and flash carts, so you've been using a patched ROM to begin with.
And now there's an absolutely miniscule part of me that wonders what would have happened had I chosen to buy that Pokemon Jade bootleg in Benidorm 20 years ago, if only to see if an original bootleg cartridge would have worked on the hardware.
I can confirm that it works on real hardware... to a point. It crashes at some points because it's REALLY REALLY BADLY translated and the second you save a number, n o p e. (OG GBA, btw, no idea how other consoles might work.) Though it was the one that went with the bootleg "Diamond" version, the Telefang hack and not the Sonichu monster. (the fact there's two different Pokemon Jade bootlegs...)
Imagine if the makers of these bootlegs are like: Sonic 3D Blast 5: Oh yeah, let’s just skip out 3D Blast 2, 3 and 4. Sonic Adventure 7&8: We’ll not count Heroes, 2006 or even World Adventure (Japanese name for Unleashed) and not have 6, let’s just have 7 then 8 the end. For me, I always thought that Heroes could sort of be Adventure 3, but then it could be Sonic Unleashed that’s Adventure 3 instead (since in Japan it’s known as Sonic World Adventure), it’s a mystery on what’s another Adventure game.
I feel like sonic 06 is sort of adventure 3 Multiple characters Branching stories Finishing all character stories gives you epilogue like ending. I feel like 06 was meant to be adventure 3 but Sega decided for it to be more of a reboot.
I'd imagine that the compatibility issues in this case (especially on Sonic 8/Pokemon Jade) are due to inaccurate/missing mapper emulation. The original cart seems to use custom mappers that were never used in official games (or any known homebrew for that matter), and hhugboy was the only emulator that seemed to run it due to its focus on these broken carts/pirate mappers.
@@ExtremeWreck I'm more so talking about flashcart compatibility, the flashcarts like he used in the video have to reimplement/emulate the mappers as well. Due to the relative obscurity of these pirate games and the fact that these games were the only ones that used these mappers, it's very unlikely that they were implemented on the flashcart. Good or bad programming, if your software relies on an external library/device/chip/etc. that isn't present, it simply won't work.
@@ExtremeWreck That would be a completely different story, the main issue here is the games barely running at all. The only way we would be able to know for sure is if we obtained an original cartridge of the game.
0:18 there are 3 versions, Genesis, Saturn, and PC, also I am the one who finished stuff for the Sonic Retro pages on these bootlegs (Yes, I subjected myself to the game)

Guys. There's a good gameboy color sonic game in development. But it's a Mod other than a rom hack. It's a mod for the Mobile/Origins Version of Sonic 1. The mod is just Sonic 1's Starlight and labyrinth without the water demo. The game has Sonic 3 esque sprites master system like, by using the x3 colors technique used in NES games like Mario's Missing. It also uses Hardware Accurate Colors mod by PanoramHusky. The mod is called: Sonic Nastumekai which is pretty confusing to spell. Nastumekai is spelt: Nashumekhi
