I've updated the download link to the PAL version of Doom 64 32X. However, it may not work on real hardware due to a checksum error, but I don't know for certain how real hardware handles that.
Okay, tried it. Weirdly, when I load it up, it just stays blank and nothing happens. But if I soft reset, it then loads the game but only the border and menu graphics (which are selectable). The game itself doesn't render. As soon as you start a level, it just freezes. Music plays though.
@@redhotsonic That sounds like the same error as shown in Sonic in Chaotix - only the 32X crashed, and the Mega Drive kept running. It might be that upon initially booting the game up, it sends a check to the 32X (which, in this case, causes the game to crash) but it doesn't do the check after a soft reset. It'd make sense if the Mega Drive was only used for the menu, HUD elements and music, since that's what it's normally used for in 32X games.

Knuckles Chaotix uses a separate ROM for PAL territories. Technically speaking the Sonic in Chaotix hack is working properly, it’s just not the right ROM.
The reason why you die at the end of the Doom Hack is because at the end of the first episode of Doom 1 (not 64), Doomguy is killed in the exact same way. I think it's a reference.
Note for Sonic in Chaotix: The PAL version of Knuckles Chaotix is a whole other ROM that got patched, it's PAL optimisation doesn't happen automatically... Though regarding the music it could've just made the music run at 9A, which is what PAL did...
Man... this hack you named seems amazing. I have to try it. Edit: I tried, and it is in fact amazing. But just don't play it with a 32X: it adds and horrible buzz sound all the time. Play it with a MD alone.
whenever a download gets removed from a website, i use the wayback machine to go back when the downlod was originally up, and usually it archives the file
Gonna say this now, the Cybernetics Outbreak ROM hack is completely broken. I tried it on the Fusion emulator, it shares the same problem with the hardware except even worse. The music will make the game crashed in the middle of the gameplay. So, it's not the hardware problem nor the emulator at fault here. It's mostly the game itself, I always wanted to play that game when it was in W.I.P. Seriously, did anybody test that game on both emu and hardware?!
If you're using Kega, there's an option called "Fast timing" that needs to be enabled. Then, it'll work on emulation. Obviously, there's no such luck for hardware.
@@EggoBoi First off, last time I checked, SRB2 only uses a jump and Spindash button, and secondly, it wouldn't just be a case of plopping SRB2 onto the 32X or Sega CD, it's called adjusting the game (or just making it from scratch) in a way the console can handle.
Here's one lesson to learn from this series : PAL sucks in every way possible if you want games on real hardware! Slowdown? Check. Graphical glitches? Check. Regional locks? Check. Jokes aside, good video, lad. Keep up the good work, and nice merch you got there.
For the Doom 64 conversion in Doom 32x hack, it definitely seems to work just fine. No clue why those 3 barons (the red monsters) were there at the end since that’s not faithful to the original Staging Area from Doom 64, but maybe it’s just a test to see if Doom 32x could handle higher resolution sprites and higher palettes. It seems to be just fine even with the caveats of the limitations of the 32x hardware making the game slower than it’s original DOS release from 1993. So yeah don’t worry mate, got your back a bit. Update: My friend tried Doom 32X (on an emulator, don't get too excited) on the most recent EU version, and we confirmed that first level/map was just a test as the levels following after that were just Doom 1's again. For those who expected to play through the entirety of Doom 64 on the 32X; it's just the first level, sorry.

This is the latest version I used from the SHC15 (I asked Varion himself). As for KEGA, you need to have the "Fast timings" option ticked for it to work otherwise it won't work. For hardware, there's no choice.
