In this video, I take my Lectric XP 3.0 Off Road (Long Range edition) on the trails of San Tan Mountain Regional Park in San Tan Valley, Arizona. Although Lectric makes the XPeak, a dedicated mountain bike, the XP 3.0 can carry itself well off the beaten path with its 20" X 3" tires.
If you're looking for a dedicated e-mountain bike, checkout the Lectric XPeak here: lectricebikes.sjv.io/rQydyG

Tell the negative commenters to do one. Its your bike and you can do what you want to do with it. You're testing it to the limit which is what most reviewers should do. If it can handle this it can handle anything.
Haha yah I try and test out the extremes. After that trail ride, I can confidently say the bike is suitable for nearly all dirt roads/paths.
I have the XP 3.0 and have absolutely flogged it with offroad riding. The headlight sheared off its plastic housing and I cracked the rear fender along one of the mounts (metal fatigue fracture). Not bad. 1650 miles on it and still going. If you have problems with the power cutting out when you hit bumps, may need to shore up the battery to stop it from moving around in the compartment. I used some adhesive felt from Lowe's... the kind of stuff you stick to furniture to keep it from scratching wood floors. Problem solved.
Ha! Yah I had the Elite Headlight and noticed a week after the trail ride that the plastic mount for the headlight was broken. Headlight was bouncing around. I ended up putting the stock light back on.
Definitely good advice on the felt pads. Lectric uses those tacky foam discs which roll off eventually with battery removal, resulting in battery movement in the housing.
Man those are some nice trails you go to for riding. The Lectric bike is definitely impressive. 😎👊 at 22:58 i felt that even from my seat. That was close.
Haha yah, definitely have sore muscles today after that ride. I was surprised the bike’s fenders stayed on for the whole ride lol. I don’t think the XP was designed for that purpose, but at least now we know it can do it 😂.
Wow, excellent video and exactly what I was looking for. I've been trying to decide between this bike and the Magicycle deer 20" stepthru, and I think the Magicycle is the one to handle the trails around where I live, along with very hilly commuting. Thank you!!
Thank you! Yah the Deer 20 definitely has the edge with regards to power, which should really come in handy for the hilly terrain.
I would love to see the lectric mountain bike version does! Aventon I’ve heard is nice too. I’m sure a lot of the comments will say though you can’t beat the name brands. But once you start getting that much power in an e bike you can barely ride it most places anyways!
I was surprised how well the XP 3.0 held up. I plan to eventually test out the XPeak on the trail, just need to get one haha. The benefit of Lectric bikes is that you get lots of value for the price. They get the job done without breaking the bank.
I have a Lectric XP 3.0 Long Range . I took a bell off one of my "old bikes"
Hope you dropped the tire pressure to about 10 psi.
Yah I will definitely add a bell now that I’m venturing onto these trails. I did ride with lower pressure than normal but not 10psi. Will have to try that out next time. Would have made a big difference on gravel/dirt as well as coming into sharp turns at speed.
10 lbs. that’s asking for trouble!!
If you wanted a bell and a whole lot more for your money, you should have bought the AiPAS A2 Elite, it’s the same bike!
That sure does look like the same bike (step thru), except with a bigger motor, UL certification, and smaller price tag. Curious how their support compares to Lectric.
@@tomsgadgetgarage they have offices in California and since they manufacture all the bikes for Lectric, I would guess better!
Interesting, I wonder if the quality is the same?
@@atomickodiak4314 is better and cheaper than the XP 3.0 hands down.
No way I’m doing that with that bike. I’d want way bigger tires and better shocks for that
Haha that’s right. I’d recommend a proper mountain bike for that type of riding, but the good news is that it held up.
@@tomsgadgetgarage xpeak? Review
Yah definitely want to try the XPeak on those trails. Just need to get my hands on one. Hope to do so before it’s a million degrees out lol.
That's not the way you're supposed to ride those trails. On such terrain, I *always* stand up, a-la BMX. That way, my knees act as shock absorbers and my body is able to respond to changes in terrain much more quickly than if I'm sitting down.
Yah I wasn’t prepared for those kinds of trails with my suspension seat post and cruiser ultra plush seat 🤣. I was expecting nice gentle hard packed dirt trails. But once I got going, I said to heck with it, let’s goooo lol. But good point, seated is not the way on those trails.
Buy yourself a Wired Freedom, you are going to really hurt yourself or have a heart attack from pushing that Lectric off road.
After that ride I’m seriously considering buying a regular mountain bike. Was definitely fun but I can see the benefit of running a bike with 26” - 29” tires on that kind of rocky terrain. That experience brought me back 25 years to when I’d mountain bike at camp in the Santa Cruz mountains in California.
The Wired Freedom looks like a really nice bike. Looks like it would have had the power to make it up that super steep section I struggled with on the Lectric.
You need a real mountain bike, that thing is for retirement resorts. Try a rental Trek Rail or eXE before you hunt yourself.
Definitely understand this isn’t a mountain bike, but on this channel, I test nearly every aspect of every device I review. This bike is marketed as being “perfect for commuting to work or embarking on any adventure”. Well, as it has it, my adventure took me to the trails. It held up surprisingly well but I definitely recommend a proper mountain bike for that type of terrain as you mentioned. Just a test to put the bike to its extremes.
