A 250 mile review is much more effective than everyone else reviewing brand new bikes. The experience matters. I saw some people putting the bike into a tote and putting it in the car where it slides in easy.
Can I ask a question for clarification? Would you put the plastic bin on the ground, then put the folding bike in the bin, lift the bin and put it into the car? I could see how that could keep the bike from opening when you try to move it. I just want to make sure I have the concept down clearly?
That’s amazing to hear 😊. I love mine because it’s opened my eyes to the world around me. I discovered places I never even knew existed. Cheers to many many more miles of adventures.
My 3.0 bike should be here today. An upgrade from my 2.0. Lectric gave me a new rear wheel with new motor free. Got it about 4 days later. They have also given me a free 2.0 controller and free tires. That's why I'm a continuing customer. They have been awesome.
That’s great to hear! I also found them to be super responsive to issues. Parts availability is major thing to consider when buying an E-Bike. There are lots of brands out there, but not all come through when it comes to service and replacement parts.
How long is the warranty on their e-bikes? Also, should something break while in warranty, and it’s something that you could not repair or replace on your own at home, what is the customer supposed to do? Does electric require you to ship the bike back to them, or do they allow local bike shops to repair it?
Love it. I got the 3.0 Step-Through. Perhaps other first-time e-bike riders will benefit from something I learned on my first ride that was confirmed on another RUclips channel: on an e-bike, stop pedaling and turn off the throttle before you start a turn - if you try to power through turns your turning radius will get unexpectedly bigger which can put you in danger. Another point: I ordered a 24QT plastic milk crate from Farmplast as a cargo carrier. I will protect the paint on the rear rack by wrapping short bungees around it, then I'll tie the crate with reusable zip ties. Huge carry capacity with low cost and high traditional style points. I"ll be 82 tomorrow (brain and heart age 15).
That’s great advice on both the acceleration into turns and the milk crate. You know, I could have used a milk crate a few weeks ago when I was trying to figure out how to get my wife’s car battery to AutoZone for replacement as she was using my car. That milk crate would have been perfect for the bike. I may have to pick one up myself! Happy birthday in advance! Glad to see people from all walks of life having fun on these e-bikes :). I follow a gentleman on RUclips, Old MrKent, and he’s having a blast out here in Arizona on his Lectric Trike.
Greatly enjoyed the video. I spent my high school years in San Manuel, north of Tucson. I envy you the dramatic desert weather in summer (but not the heat).
@@AnandaGarden Thank you! Yes! The summer storms are very dramatic and seemingly come out of nowhere. And you're right about the heat, it's brutal. During the summer I have to do all my riding early in the AM or late at night.
@@Anna-mv9pg - I find that if I apply power in the turns I'm unable to turn as tightly as I might have planned. If I'm turning left into a street that's lined with parked cars, the bigger turning radius can lead to a scary moment. The XP 3 with its high center of gravity riding position isn't ideal for making tight, fast turns - it doesn't feel natural to lean past a certain point, unlike a drop-handle bike.
Absolutely insane video, the fact that he voiceover all this footage and didn't talk while recording it shows the dedication. You've earned a subscriber
This is a wonderful review, Tom! You did an excellent job on the whole review and went very well into detail. I hope anyone that watches your video appreciates the work you did. As a content creator my self im sure this took you hours to edit and put together. Thumbs up from me. 😎👊
Thank you my man! Yah, lots of footage from the various tests. All edited on a MacBook Air haha. Can’t wait for your take on the InMotion RS. That thing is a beast. Did they ship it or give you a ship date yet?
Thanks Tom for all the good info. Only had my 3.0 (exact same as you have) for a few weeks. My main FIRST goal is to make it as "ANTI THEFT" as possible. Just finished replacing the "quick release" seat lever with a lock nut version. Dual level motion sensor alarm next. Kryptonite chain and a tracker chip. The 259 mile "tune-up" was the best part for me. Keep up the good episodes.
Thanks! Nice! Yah people are running around with circular saws and such nowadays, it’s crazy. Motion sensor alarm and tracker chip sound like a good idea. I feel like theft if a huge barrier to e-bikes and scooters becoming more mainstream. I’ve opted to drive in some cases where I could have ridden a bike because I didn’t want to deal with the hassle of locking up the bike. Motion sensor should buy you time if some starts messing around with the bike.
I was wondering about the possibility of theft. I have heard some people say they turn off the battery with the key and others even take the battery with them if they are leaving the bike somewhere. But my question is, even without the battery couldn’t a thief, simply pedal away with the bicycle?
I just order my bike using your link. I hope you get credit. Yours was by far the best review I watched and you answered the questions I needed to get me to pull the trigger
Thank you so much! Let me know how you like the bike once you get riding around on it 😊. I’ve explored so many places that I didn’t even know existed on my XP 3.0.
great review I am in Goodyear AZ much flater but we plan to use them at our place in the white mountains which is hilly and has many Forest roads accessible but a bit rough anyway a rider should be aware that if you are in 4 or 5 mode electric and you have to stop quickly when you start up again and have not shifted down on the electric side.... the bike will take off like a shot the minute you begin to pedal since you left it in the 4 or 5 setting when you stopped. so either be aware and ready or shift down as you stop or after stopping so you dont have that surge but otherwise we both love this bike and very well built for the price
That’s a great point! Thanks for sharing, can definitely catch you off guard if you’re not expecting it. White Mountains are beautiful. Definitely can’t wait to take it up to Pinetop in the Spring:)
I've been doing a ton of research on ebikes the last couple weeks saving up for one to get back and forth to work and the store. I live on a boat. Never used an ebike before but I just ordered this bike this morning.
I put mine in a huge Christmas plastic today folded and it's easier than just dropping the whole bike in the trunk. Being in the plastic toat it helps to from snagging on the carpet and from ripping it during any shift in your trunk
I saw that a "42 QUART" tote was recommended. It will work for a "day trip" But for more than 3 nights I plan on making my own exterior "something" to go on the outside - as my Jeep Grand Cherokee will be "packed".
I'm at 311 miles on my 3.0 standard battery and I've had no huge problems. The shifting isn't perfect and the front brake makes some noise from time to time. But I can easily make a 20 mile round trip in 6th gear only using pedal assis 1 and 2 over hills and I'm 215lbs
That’s awesome. Yah I like cruising around in PAS 2. For the shifting, I actually took mine in to get tuned and now it shifts perfectly. They removed six links from the chain and made some adjustments to the derailleur.
Thank you for watching! Glad I was able to help :). E-bikes are lots of fun to cruise around on. About to hop on the 3.0 in a few minutes to enjoy some of the cool evening weather here in Arizona while it lasts haha.
I bought one last fall. This summer I have put about 800 miles on it. Great fun and adjustable exercise level and a throttle to get me home if I wear out. All this is good for those of us who are beyond the 75 years old level. Well worth the money, no complaints about the bike.
It’s great to hear about your experience with this bike. 800 miles is a lot of miles of fun. Mine has taken me to places I didn’t even know existed in my own town 😊.
The boyfriend just bought one of these and I'm sending him your links to the cloud 9 seat and suspension post - thank you for posting the correct size of the post! :)
HI Tom, just found your channel. I just purchased the xpedition for myself and was so impressed, I bought the XP 3.0 for my partner. So far, loving my choice and looking forward to the 3.0 arriving. Not a huge bike guy, first time with an e-bike. Never had a flat and changed one, but have ridden regular bikes since a kid. I was curious about you mentioning shortening the chain...for what purpose? If it was such a huge improvement, why wouldn't Lectric manufacturer or ship at that length? Great video and review.
Hello! So I started noticing some issues when riding, specifically around changing gears and chain slipping. When shifting up a gear, the gear wouldn’t full shift. I also noticed some chain slippage when exerting a lot of force with the pedals on uphill starts. That’s when I took it in for a tune up and was told my chain was too long. I did do some research and haven’t seen many posts that call out a similar issue, so maybe it was just mine, not too sure. My chain now looks like the chain at the 1:13 minute mark of this video ruclips.net/video/O0YibMDWBAw/видео.htmlsi=tZs0oDHZkgEKEnJe
I'd buy one. I recently bought 2 XP Lite 2.0. Im 100% happy with mine. I live in far NW Arizona, I rode in 115° temperatures this summer, no problem. Simple but they uild them like tanks.
The XP Lite 2.0 looks sick. Do you have the chain or belt drive? Thankfully things are starting to slowly cool down. 115F in direct sunlight is miserable haha. I’m glad winter is coming lol.
@tomsgadgetgarage I didn't want the belt drive or the long-range battery. I haven't driven my truck in months, I pedal my ebikes instead. The new XP Lite is almost silent. I bought one, then 5 days later I ordered another one. I live in a small town everything is within 3 miles. I bought the rack and saddlebags for shopping. I love the street tires and the bmx handlebars. Even though I have 3 ebikes, I'm considering a Lectric city bike. Built like tanks, I'm so happy with mine. Thank you.
That’s great to hear. Yah it’s awesome to be able to bike around when running errands, especially when everything is nearby. The small form factor is also a huge plus.
Thanks for the head light information. I was wondering why that light keeps moving. Now I know it's not just my bike. Your right the bike is great I now have 614 miles on mine, with only one flat tire.
Thank you! So they did issue a recall for certain units sold between 11/1/22 - 5/6/23. Here’s more info on that help.lectricebikes.com/article/y5pabekl1p-product-recall-xp-3-0-mechanical-brake-calipers.
I’m stuck between getting this and an Aipas 2 as a daily work commute bike. What bike would essentially last me the longest, riding 10+ miles daily, 125lbs.
I’ll say this, Lectric likely has the best customer service in the industry. If you run into any issues, they address them quickly and also have excellent parts support. I’ve thrown everything I can think of at my XP 3.0 and it’s still riding around like a champ.
Thank you. I'm considering the step-thru long-range model as a "2nd vehicle" for my commute to work, 7.5 miles away. With 2 bad knees and a heart condition, an ebike is the only bike possible. If anything goes wrong with me, I'm not entirely stranded - a little rest (or a pill) and a gentle ride at throttle only can get me safely home. I really, really like that Lectric is a US-based company. Only thing I don't like is that they do not accept PayPal, so I can't purchase using my PayPal Credit account with its 6 months at no interest. I'll have to save up before I can get one. That could take months.
@@tomsgadgetgarage Sadly, PayPal Credit does everything to ensure there's no way to get anything remotely resembling a cash advance from their credit accounts. Based on a coworker's suggestion, I'm looking into the Mokwheel Scoria as an alternative. It costs a bit more, but they do accept PayPal. I'm trying to weigh the pros and cons of each ebike based on my needs. But, my decision may well come down to the ability to finance at that zero interest PayPal Credit offers. So far, I am liking that Mokwheel's ebike uses a Samsung battery, as their batteries have a good reputation.
Hey Tom, great content! Was just curious if you think getting the insurance with it is worth it I see some great deals right now happening because of Black Friday and I’m about to pull the trigger but I’m curious about the insurance and whether or not it’s worth it
Thank you! So I personally have skipped on insurance for most things I buy. I did get it for a camera I bought earlier in the year. Thankfully I bought it because the camera was damaged in a fall I had on an electric skateboard. I had a new camera at my doorstep in 3 days thanks to the insurance. So I’ve changed my mind a bit on insurance haha. The biggest expense on the bike is the battery. Everything else isn’t too crazy.
Flat tires on delivery seems to be normal!! I love my bike and so does my wife but her trike had damage when shipped! Lectric needs to work on their shipping and quality control
The long range edition is definitely not under $1000. The standard edition is, the long range edition is a bit more. Just want to be accurate with the information we’re putting out there.
Thanks! Yah it was a bummer for sure. Thankfully they have epic customer service and sent over replacement tubes quickly. In my case the valve stem had a tear where it attached to the tube :(.
You talk about getting your chain and brakes adjusted at local shop bike shops in my area won’t work on electric bikes. We’re gonna need a little more information on how to do this.
So my local shop is the same, but they will service it if I remove the battery. Lots of bike shops have those restrictions because the insurance to cover their establishment for e-bikes is insane. How’s the shifting on your bike? I feel like chain shortening isn’t needed by most folks. Mine just happened to have lots of slack, as if it wasn’t right sized from the start.
Yah, and it’s far north Phoenix. It’s an hour away from me here in Gilbert. You can look at the bikes and take them for a spin at the showroom. If you decide you want to buy one though, you can only purchase from the open box selection. They don’t sell new bikes directly at the showroom.
Loved your video. I've never considered a compact bike before. I'm 63 years old, and 6 foot 1. I figured aside from being too old to ride this style of bike, I'm also probably too tall. Can you commit on this please? I had my hip replaced in April so I'm not very spry. Are these types of bikes comfortable?
Thank you! Happy to answer your questions. The good news about this bike is that it comes in two configurations; a step-thru and a standard step-over. The step-thru is easier to get on and off as you don’t have to lift your legs as high. The bike itself is very comfortable to ride. The only thing I did was upgrade to a more comfortable seat. I believe they now include their comfort package standard, so you get a better seat as well as a suspension seat post which adds another level of comfort. If balance is an issue, a trike could also be a good option. I’d just check with your doctor first if you haven’t already. My grandfather had his hip replaced back in the early 2000s in his late 70’s and after his recovery he was back to doing some biking around the neighborhood a few times a week. But everyone is different. I would honestly check out some local bike shops and try some of the bikes out first to get a feel for what works.
Love the vid. Quick question what does removing 6 links from the chain do? Just tightens up the chain? Cause ive noticed mine looks really loose when on 7th gear
Thank you! I had a lot of slack in the chain straight out of the box. Took it in to have it tuned by a local shop and they said the chain was too long and removed six links and adjusted the position of the derailleur. Afterwords shifting was way better.
I am looking forward to them making more cleaner bikes in the future in relation to wires. my lectric xp 3.0 has wires all over the place in the front and along the frame. it just looks messy. I am also hoping they do something that allows you to lock the bike in place when you fold it. the videos are like oh, its so easy and a joy to fold your bike and put it in the car....but in reality, its awkward heavy and unwieldly leading to it falling on the concrete and the chair comes off and things get bent. sorry, but I dont see women being able to lift this without it being an back breaking ordeal.
I saw a couple other bikes out there with magnetic locking mechanisms. I’m hoping Lectric will adopt these in the future to keep the two halves together.
@Yakwoodz no this is one of the better bikes on the market. But they need to do something about being able to lock the bike together so it doesn’t swing away.
@Yakwoodz You just found out the hard way that putting on some phoney pretense when its clear you couldnt even give me a model when you know I would research it just to show you you have something on par with what I have. nothing personal, I eat people like you for breakfast.
@YakwoodzI am mentioning ideas of how they can be made better. you however are pretending to have a good ebike when you most likely dont even have one. you wont mention which one you have. cause you know its the same thing as I got only with a different name.
Hey Mike! It actually does quite well on dirt trails. I made a video of me taking it on what I thought were supposed to be light trails. Trail Worthy? Lectric XP 3.0 E-Bike Put To the Test Off Road ruclips.net/video/8ZAQN1rNbuo/видео.html
So Lectric is headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona but I believe the bikes are made in China. There’s large bold print on the box that says Made in China. They have a nice showroom in Phoenix where you can test ride the bikes. Overall build quality was solid out of the box except for a flat rear tire.
Hi, I want to thank you for a nice in-depth review. I do want to ask one particular question regarding hauling. Can this bike pull a two-child trailer? My guess is yes, but I am afraid it would strain the motor and battery. I want to get an Xpedition model for two child cargo seats but that bike does not come with any suspension for such a heavy bike. Maybe I should continue to wait for an upgrade of Xpedition model.
So I’ve never tested this out with a trailer but I don’t see why it couldn’t work. I’ve seen people riding around on the XP 3.0 with two adults. Now, the XPedition has the advantage of a bigger motor with more torque, but you as you said, no suspension. Slightly lower tire pressure, a suspension seat post, and maybe a Cloud Nine seat could help soften the ride.
There's a post on Reddit about how because of the steep fork angle and small tires that the bike can be dangerous to ride. The post also talks about how the sudden surging of the power from the engine also can cause safety issues. If you look at the geometry of the bike you can see how losing control of the front wheel is possible. I was thinking about buying this bike before reading that post in which another person confirmed a wipeout because of the geometry issues.
That’s definitely interesting to hear. I’ve personally put this bike through the extremes and never had an issue with losing control. Check out my “off road” video here: Trail Worthy? Lectric XP 3.0 E-Bike Put To the Test ruclips.net/video/8ZAQN1rNbuo/видео.html. As for surging power, you can adjust the PAS strength (setting P12) so that the motor comes on more gradual.
Dude, that's an amazing video and I am impressed with how the bike did. I'm hoping to find a bike that can do a little offroad riding although I want something comfortable for riding on the road. Maybe I will take a drive up to their Phoenix showroom and ride one after all. Thanks for getting back to me!
Anytime! Yah, overall I’m really impressed with the 3.0. Pretty capable bike for folding bike. At some point I plan on visiting their showroom to checkout the step over version of the XPeak. Maybe I’ll take the XPeak out on the same trails to see how it compares.
I recently recieved mine, Yours traveled across the "Globe"? you're in Phoenix where Lectric E-bikes are made, I'm curious why you removed 6 links? I love my Lectric XP 3.0
Hey! So Lectric is headquartered in Phoenix but the bikes are assembled in China. A least mine was based on the box print. There was slack in my chain and the shifting was off so I took it into a reputable local bike shop. They gave it a tune up, including removing links from the chain. Shifts beautifully now. May have just gotten a long chain from the factory, not sure. The 3.0 is definitely one of my favorite bikes. Super versatile and lots of bang for the buck. There are cheaper options on the market today, but I went with them for their customer service.
If you don’t mind sharing it, what did it cost you to have the chain, brake adjustments along with the other maintenance items? The tire and chain length problems concern me. I’m a stickler for quality control. Nice review though!!
Thanks for the review. Does it have a Tripmeter? if so, does it reset to zero every time it is turned off or does it remember the distance until you manually reset?
honest answer please. You used a cloud 9 seat and suspension seat post from Amazon, did you choose these because you can monetize by others using your links? The reason I'm asking, is the company offers their "comfort package" which has a suspension post and upgraded seat, curious why not that one? Thanks for your time
Great question! So I bought the Cloud 9 seat because the stock seat was awful for me on long rides. After using the Cloud 9 seat for a while I realized it’s the best seat I’ve ever used on a bike. The suspension seat post also helped a lot because I often ride on trails. I personally haven’t used their comfort package so I can’t speak to it. But what I do know is that it’s a lot more expensive than the Cloud 9 and Zoom suspension seat post.
Here's what I'm NOT seeing from any of you guys reviewing the Lectric bike, what kind of battery is it?! Lithium Ion? Lithium Iron Phosphate? It'd be nice to know.
Hey! It’s a Lithium-ion battery. As much as I would like to see LiFePO4 batteries used in e-bikes, they’d add considerable cost plus they don’t have the same punch as Lithium-ion batteries. They are definitely safer though.
You should be good as long as you don’t leave it anywhere super cold or hot. Also, never let it sit in a discharged state for long. If you go out on a ride a run the battery all the way down, be sure to charge it up to at least half.
In PAS, you have to keep pedaling in order to keep the motor running. If you stop pedaling, the motor stops. You can also lightly pedal, basically pedal with very little pressure, just enough to keep the pedals moving. Then of course you have the throttle, which requires no pedaling at all.
Hey! I do think it’s a great way to get into biking shape as you can adjust the pedal assist levels to your liking and reduce the assist over time. But keep in mind, with zero assist, it really is a heavy bike to be pedaling for long distances.
my new xp 3.0 sucks compared to the old one that was stolen. I can't get PAS 2 to not so a constant current of 7.0 no matter the speed, with the old one I did 10-12 mph PAS2 gears 3-4
I mostly charge my bikes in my garage now while I’m close by. Just make sure you’re home while charging and avoid charging overnight while unattended. I’ve found that lithium ion batteries are generally very safe if treated properly. Issues often arise when people use 3rd party chargers for faster charging. Slow and steady is best. UL certification is another thing to look for. Great news here is that Lectric now has UL certification on their bikes and batteries.
Hmm, when you click on it does the Lectric website load? I updated just in case. It should take you to their XP 3.0 product page. Thank you for letting me know.
Apparently it was very long out of the box. One thing I noticed was that when exerting lots of force, say when manually accelerating from a stop, the chain would skip. I thought six was a lot when they first told me but they showed me it was now right sized. It now shifts perfectly and no longer skips.
As a rider of this bike(long range lectric 3.0) I have to say that if you do anything under PAS 3 the bike is a heavy lumbering turtle and when you get down to one bar....it loses power and you are riding it like a regular bike which you do not want to do..... as its like peddling while pulling a cart full of bricks. also IMO the range must be off, I see no way anyone is getting 65 miles under any circumstance with this bike unless they bring multiple batteries as there really is no optimal riding condition pretty much anywhere except lectric corporate board room pitch meetings. most places there are hills and valleys and hills again. in reality you will be surprised by how fast the bars drop off under regular bike riding.
Thanks for chiming in! In my tests I was able to get 39.1 miles in a mix of PAS 2 & PAS 3. And you’re definitely right in that 65 miles is a pie in the sky figure. Lectric states they did their testing with a 180lb rider on flat ground with tires at 30psi with a few starts and stops. In reality, most rides are full of starts and stops with hills, turns, and oftentimes less than ideal roads. You can probably get quite a bit more range out of PAS 1, but the reality is that PAS 1 is quite slow and going at that rate until the battery dies takes a lot of patience. Great for a workout though. As for the last bar of battery, you’re right in that you’re basically doing all the work. If pedaling with no power with relative ease is something folks are looking for, I’d recommend something like the Velotric T1 or T1 ST as they are super light at 36lbs. When it comes to bikes and e-scooters, I would honestly expect anywhere from 50%-60% range in everyday conditions.
So Lectric claims up to 65 miles in ideal conditions for the long range edition. That would be in PAS 1 with rider weight around 180lbs on flat ground with some stop and go. I got 39.1 in mostly PAS 3 with some PAS 2 on a hot day here in Arizona.
So it depends on how you intend to use the bike. The XP 3.0 gives you the option to pedal, use the throttle, and pedal with electric assistance. It comes out of the box as a Class 2 e-bike with throttle and PAS. It can be unlocked to Class 3, allowing for PAS speeds up to 28mph. Some people like to get some exercise in and have flexibility to tackle steeper terrain or longer distances (with assistance) that they would otherwise not have attempted. I have another e-bike, the Velotric T1 ST that can be pedaled as easily as a regular bike but gives me the option to enable assistance when needed. That assistance grows the harder I pedal thanks to its torque sensor. I biked a mountain road which I would have never attempted with a non powered bike. Got a heck of a workout in that’s for sure.
So I haven’t tried out the HeyBike Mars 2.0 personally, but it looks like its got a bigger motor, is heavier, and comes with mobile app connectivity. The battery in the XP 3.0 is housed in the frame whereas the Mars 2.0 is stored externally on the seat post portion of the frame.
I am sorry, but people are starting to rely on ebikes for day in day out use, so 250 miles is just not enough to test the most important limit of the bike, and that is how long it will last before needing repairs. Even a cheaply made bike can go 500 miles before issues start to show. Also you seem to always be in Summer like weather, but how does it do in rain or snow? That matters to people using these ebikes as their main mode of transportation.
Well, I do live in the hottest big city in North America haha. Checkout my video throwing this thing around on MTB trails as well as riding it up nearly 2k feet in elevation gain. The MTB/trail ride was a major test of this bike. Definitely not designed for that purpose, but figured I’d put it through an extreme stress test. I try to push out reviews after 250 and 500 miles. I use most of the bikes/scooters I review over 6-12 months or longer and will continue to publish updates if the experience changes. I think I have 8 or 9 videos covering this bike in detail.
@@tomsgadgetgarage The bane is of all bikes, especially ebikes, is water (whether that is rain, snow or ice). Maybe you don't have to worry about that as much in AZ, but riding an ebike through winter here in MT is a lot more of a stress test than some MTB trails. If people are just using these bikes for recreation then they will be mainly using them in favorable weather, but if they use it for utility then daily exposure to the elements becomes the main concern.
So the good news is that I’ve started incorporating wet weather riding in some of my E-Scooter videos for IP testing. Given our monsoon season is around the corner, I can incorporate more of that into the e-bike videos, weather permitting. Since I posted the 250 mile review, I’ve had the opportunity to ride the XP around in quite a bit of wet weather, thanks to the La Niña weather pattern we’ve had this year. So far I haven’t had any issues to report back on but will cover it in my 500 mile update.

A 250 mile review is much more effective than everyone else reviewing brand new bikes. The experience matters. I saw some people putting the bike into a tote and putting it in the car where it slides in easy.
Yah I’ve seen people using totes as well. Definitely a great idea.
A tote bag or bin?
@sgrant9814 one of those Sterlite plastic bin/totes. Its a handy way to measure a folding bike.
Can I ask a question for clarification? Would you put the plastic bin on the ground, then put the folding bike in the bin, lift the bin and put it into the car? I could see how that could keep the bike from opening when you try to move it. I just want to make sure I have the concept down clearly?
@sjpavur yeah its a measure of volume and its easier to handle and slide in a folded bike thats in a large Sterlite bin. Let us know what size bin.
I love my 3.0. Best thing ever! I’m 66 and haven’t been on a bike in 46 years. I feel like a 20 year old when I’m on my bike.
Any updates on how it is?
How long is the warranty on their e-bikes? Also, should something break while in warranty, and it’s something that you could not repair or replace on your own at home, what is the customer supposed to do? Does electric require you to ship the bike back to them, or do they allow local bike shops to repair it?
Thanks for the info ordered one today on Amazon. 🙋
What do you mean you're turning will get unexpected bigger? what is the danger? And thank you for this information I appreciate it😊
@@Anna-mv9pg - I find that if I apply power in the turns I'm unable to turn as tightly as I might have planned.
I’m 6’2 , 265 lbs (on a diet though lol)
I just ordered this bike. Thanks for the review. I’m really looking forward to getting this!
Congrats! It’s definitely an excellent bike. The fact that everything is adjustable makes it even better. Enjoy!
I have this bike and I'm 6 foot 4 inches and 285 and it works well for me
PanHandle - how did you like the bike? I am about your same size and am interested because of how big we are!
@@myronchamberlain7734 ty for sharing this answers a question for me
Absolutely insane video, the fact that he voiceover all this footage and didn't talk while recording it shows the dedication. You've earned a subscriber
Thank you so much! 😊
@tomsgadgetgarage yeah voromotors game me a date of December 4th to December 12th. Hopefully it does get to me by that day. 🙏
Great review. I am currently researching ebikes and appreciate the long distance review. Most reviews do not review after a long ride or time period.
Thank you!
great review I am in Goodyear AZ much flater but we plan to use them at our place in the white mountains which is hilly and has many Forest roads accessible but a bit rough anyway a rider should be aware that if you are in 4 or 5 mode electric and you have to stop quickly when you start up again and have not shifted down on the electric side.... the bike will take off like a shot the minute you begin to pedal since you left it in the 4 or 5 setting when you stopped. so either be aware and ready or shift down as you stop or after stopping so you dont have that surge but otherwise we both love this bike and very well built for the price
That’s a great point! Thanks for sharing, can definitely catch you off guard if you’re not expecting it. White Mountains are beautiful. Definitely can’t wait to take it up to Pinetop in the Spring:)
Ah-ha! Thank you for letting us know about "down shifting" after stopping! I was wondering if you had to do that. Happy riding!
I've been doing a ton of research on ebikes the last couple weeks saving up for one to get back and forth to work and the store. I live on a boat. Never used an ebike before but I just ordered this bike this morning.
Congrats! The XP 3.0 is a great bike to use for commutes and adventures around town. Enjoy the ride!
I put mine in a huge Christmas plastic today folded and it's easier than just dropping the whole bike in the trunk. Being in the plastic toat it helps to from snagging on the carpet and from ripping it during any shift in your trunk
That’s a great idea! I’ve seen some people use giant plastic totes as well.
I saw that a "42 QUART" tote was recommended. It will work for a "day trip" But for more than 3 nights I plan on making my own exterior "something" to go on the outside - as my Jeep Grand Cherokee will be "packed".
Yah I plan to pick up a tote soon. Hopefully will make it way easier to load and prevent the bike from shifting around in the trunk.
i appreciate the unbiased review
I'm at 311 miles on my 3.0 standard battery and I've had no huge problems. The shifting isn't perfect and the front brake makes some noise from time to time. But I can easily make a 20 mile round trip in 6th gear only using pedal assis 1 and 2 over hills and I'm 215lbs
That’s awesome. Yah I like cruising around in PAS 2. For the shifting, I actually took mine in to get tuned and now it shifts perfectly. They removed six links from the chain and made some adjustments to the derailleur.
When are you going to bring it in for a tune-up? That surprised me 250 miles?
Thank you Tom! I've been watching RUclips and sites for a year. Your review helped my decision.
Congrats on the new bike and thank you 😊. The Cloud 9 seat is so nice compared to the stock seat.
Thanks for your review! Very helpful! Can’t wait to get riding!
Anytime! Thanks for watching. These are definitely fun bikes to cruise around on and explore new places.
What are your thoughts on them releasing the same model with the belt drive instead of the chain drive.
Anytime! Glad you're enjoying the XP 3.0. It really is a solid bike for the price and I know people do crazy miles on these things.
I appreciate your review of this bike, it really helped me to determine if it's great for me. Thanks
Thank you! It’s one of my favorites 😊.
Excellent review, very detailed
Thank you!
Great video! So complete, congratulations
Thank you!
Tom...GREAT review BTW! We saw on another video where the brakes are a problem and the Co has a recall, on this model. Any comments??
I just crossed 300 miles on mine and love it.
Congrats! I’m still enjoying mine :). Just wish it was about 30 degrees cooler outside haha.
Yeah, that's really unfortunate they don't take PayPal :(. Can you buy a pre-paid Visa or Master Card with PayPal Credit and use that?
Did you purchase the Mokwheel? If not, another option is the AiPas A2. I can’t speak for it but the specs look good on paper.
Stellar presentation and content delivery 💯🔥👍🏾
Very underrated channel.
I appreciate that! Thank you 😊
Flat tires on delivery seems to be normal!! I love my bike and so does my wife but her trike had damage when shipped! Lectric needs to work on their shipping and quality control
Yah it’s definitely a bummer to get a bike with a flat or other damage. Thankfully they have very responsive customer support.
The long range edition is definitely not under $1000. The standard edition is, the long range edition is a bit more. Just want to be accurate with the information we’re putting out there.
Thanks for calling that out. Same bike, different sized batteries at a $180 difference.
Yes sir. Cant wait till mine shows up. Great video and content. Ride On!
Best review on this bike I've watched yet! Thanks much. Just pushed the "buy" button!
Thank you! It’s an excellent bike 😊. Enjoy!
Very well done video and informative, Thanks
Thank you!
Very good review. I'm going to order one for my wife. Thank you.
Thank you! Glad it was helpful :)
Thanks for the review, nice presentation. Having a flat out of the box really sucks though l
Thanks! Yah it was a bummer for sure. Thankfully they have epic customer service and sent over replacement tubes quickly. In my case the valve stem had a tear where it attached to the tube :(.
What a great review!! Thank you oh so so much.
Thank you!
Great info, thanks.
Thank you great review and tips!
Anytime! Thank you for watching 😎
Thank you for a great review. Very helpful.

Great review! 64lb folding ebike that can do 28mph is very compelling. ❤
Thank you! Yeah, it's impressive how much these motors can push.
Good Review! Thank You
Thank you!
What charging bag is that you used to charge the battery in the house. I don't see a link for it. Nice video.
Thank you! So I use this one here amzn.to/4dAd60r. It comes in two sizes. I’d go with the larger bag in case you ever get larger size batteries.
Their only showroom is in Phoenix? Wish they were closer to Tucson.
Yah, and it’s far north Phoenix. It’s an hour away from me here in Gilbert. You can look at the bikes and take them for a spin at the showroom. If you decide you want to buy one though, you can only purchase from the open box selection. They don’t sell new bikes directly at the showroom.
Very informative and helpful! I thank you!!
Thank you! 😊
Superb review! One of the best I've seen. Thank you for your efforts and I look forward to hearing more about your Lectric experience.
Thank you so much!
@@tomsgadgetgarage thank you
Thank you for your very informative review.
Thank you!
@Yakwoodz you may have paid more, but you didn’t necessarily get anything more than I got link me to the one you got let’s compare?
@Yakwoodz You just found out the hard way that putting on some phoney pretense when its clear you couldnt even give me a model when you know I would research it just to show you you have something on par with what I have. nothing personal, I eat people like you for breakfast.
@YakwoodzI am mentioning ideas of how they can be made better. you however are pretending to have a good ebike when you most likely dont even have one. you wont mention which one you have. cause you know its the same thing as I got only with a different name.
Well done and informative ❤
Thank you!
Thanks for the info
How is it in dirt roads or easy dirt trails?
Looking for a pair for the rv.
Hey Mike! It actually does quite well on dirt trails. I made a video of me taking it on what I thought were supposed to be light trails. Trail Worthy? Lectric XP 3.0 E-Bike Put To the Test Off Road
ruclips.net/video/8ZAQN1rNbuo/видео.html
Made locally or shipped from China? Im confused. I thought he said the box traveled across the globe.
Great detailed review.
Thank you!
Thanks Tom!
Anytime. Thank you for watching 😃
Lectric XP 3.0 E-Bike Put To the Test
ruclips.net/video/8ZAQN1rNbuo/видео.html.
I was wandering how you change the back tire. Thanks 🙂
No problem 👍
Great video, thanks
Thank you!
@@tomsgadgetgarage Thank You Tom
If you don’t mind sharing it, what did it cost you to have the chain, brake adjustments along with the other maintenance items? The tire and chain length problems concern me. I’m a stickler for quality control. Nice review though!!
Hello! Thanks! I paid $125 for the tune up which covered the brake adjustment, derailleur adjustment, chain shortening, and cleaning of the bike.
Thanks for the review. Does it have a Tripmeter? if so, does it reset to zero every time it is turned off or does it remember the distance until you manually reset?
Hey! It has a trip meter, but it does reset when you turn it off. On the plus side, it does have an odometer which keeps the running total mileage.
honest answer please.
Thank You!
Great review. Your review made me add it to my list. I’ll have to narrow it down but it made it. 😬
Thank you! Yah there are so many good options out there to sift through haha.
Great Review!
Thank you! I really appreciate it 😊
Great video 👍🏾
Thank you!
... can I leave the battery in as a general rule? Thank you
You should be good as long as you don’t leave it anywhere super cold or hot. Also, never let it sit in a discharged state for long. If you go out on a ride a run the battery all the way down, be sure to charge it up to at least half.
Do they ship from their HQ here in AZ?
So I had reached out to them last year and they mentioned they have multiple warehouses in the US. Mine shipped from AZ though.
I’m 6ft about 230lb, would this bike fit me? Ty
Hello! It would fit you perfectly. Lots of adjustability on this bike 😊.
@ ty for sharing
Do you recommend having the spokes adjusted before riding the XP 3.0?
I didn’t have to make any spoke adjustments on mine. You should be good right out of the box.
Do u have to keep pumping after your in pas?
In PAS, you have to keep pedaling in order to keep the motor running. If you stop pedaling, the motor stops. You can also lightly pedal, basically pedal with very little pressure, just enough to keep the pedals moving. Then of course you have the throttle, which requires no pedaling at all.
Would this bike be ok for trying to get back into bike riding shape? I’d like to go approx 14-17 mph with minimal assistance.
So it showing 7 amps in PAS 2 regardless of your speed?
yes, 7.0 A well over 15 mph PAS 2@@tomsgadgetgarage
I’ve read that it’s not safe to charge batteries indoors. What are your thoughts on this.
Late comment... Just wanted to say, great job :o)
Thank you so much!
Nice one. 👍
Good video
Thank you!
Do you think I could put it in my civic trunk folded up?
It’s possible but would be hard to tell without the dimension. Is it a hatchback?
standard battery goes 39 miles? not bad. or do you have the long range battery.
Hey! It’s the long range battery.
@@tomsgadgetgarage ahhh I gotcha thank you, sad to hear I just have the standard one. But 20-25 miles should be fine enough I guess
Can you use throttle and pas at same time?
You can! By default it allows you to use both, but you can also go into the settings and turn that off.
@@tomsgadgetgarage Thanks Tom!!
Anytime!

Hey! I have links in the description of the video. Let me know if those are what you’re looking for.
Do you know your link to Lectric doesn’t work?
Thank you! I think it’s fixed now.
@@tomsgadgetgarage it still doesn't work for me
Hmm, when you click on it does the Lectric website load? I updated just in case. It should take you to their XP 3.0 product page. Thank you for letting me know.

“…removed 6 links from the chain…” 👀 Why so many??
Apparently it was very long out of the box. One thing I noticed was that when exerting lots of force, say when manually accelerating from a stop, the chain would skip. I thought six was a lot when they first told me but they showed me it was now right sized. It now shifts perfectly and no longer skips.
Still happy with it? Is this the standard or step thru?
Hey! This is the standard version. Definitely very happy with this bike. It’s been able to tackle everything I’ve thrown at it.
It’s the fat tires that add to rolling resistance.
Great imput! Ty
What the max miles it can get up too?
So Lectric claims up to 65 miles in ideal conditions for the long range edition. That would be in PAS 1 with rider weight around 180lbs on flat ground with some stop and go.
I got 39.1 in mostly PAS 3 with some PAS 2 on a hot day here in Arizona.
@tomsgadgetgarage no I mean it says on the screen the miles on it like I got 500 miles on it rn what’s the max?
Will this bike fit 27 seam
It should as the seat is height adjustable. Lectric has this for rider height suitability 4’10” - 6’5”.
Just purchased this Beast from a very good friend and Naval Vet!
Trump 2024!!!!
Congrats! It’s definitely a solid bike. Enjoy the ride 😀.
Isn't the purpose of electric is that you don't need to pedal?
Sorry I couldn't have watched this video before I bought my two XP 3.0
Thanks for watching! How are you liking the bikes so far?
Flat tire? No sale.
Ha!
Will it out run a mountain lion?
It sure won’t 🤣
I have a 3.0 It seems to be a nice bike .Have not put it through its paces , seems to be quick!@@tomsgadgetgarage
It’s definitely one of my favorites. Great all around bike.
Does anyone have an opinion on this bike vs Heybike Mars 2.0?
So I haven’t tried out the HeyBike Mars 2.0 personally, but it looks like its got a bigger motor, is heavier, and comes with mobile app connectivity. The battery in the XP 3.0 is housed in the frame whereas the Mars 2.0 is stored externally on the seat post portion of the frame.
Thank you
I am sorry, but people are starting to rely on ebikes for day in day out use, so 250 miles is just not enough to test the most important limit of the bike, and that is how long it will last before needing repairs.
