my dad was a mechanic. when he passed, finding an honest mechanic was difficult mainly because i missed my father in more ways than one. he may not have taught me how to check the engine on everything, but unfortunately, for any mechanic after his passing.... they could never compare in my eyes to my dad. :( thanks for your precise and quick video. you have a skill set all of us need and its appreciated. :) a/c is still busted right now, but at least i got some direction. :D blessings

I had some one tell me to my face that don’t say ur honest ur bullshit to me his bill was 210 front and rear brake pads I did it for $20 cuz he was old customer and friend. I hate that all the videos I've seen on RUclips is only if the AC isn't cold at all. Ours blows just fresh air but not cold and the freon isn't low. So I'm not sure what could be wrong with it.

Alright it's been over 3 years and I've been had all of that checked & done, however everything is exactly working as you explained it except for it isn't blowing ice cold 🥶❄️ nor freezing as it should.

Hi - thanks for the video. I have an issue with my AC and looking for any ideas to fix. Compressor comes on, belts are ok, clutch engages. Pressure is fine, AC Pro gauge says AC refrigerant is full. Low side hose doesn’t get cold though. Does the refrigerant wear out over time???? I’ve had the car 15 years and never had it re-gassed. It just stopped blowing cold this summer. Thanks
Everything is good ur ac should work how ever that pro gas cans stuff could mess up the system make sure all works lot of people say all work but then somthing dosent. If ac compressor come on clutch engage and it got correct amount Freon ac should and be cold or ur compressor is not building pressure

How was your issue resolved? I'm experiencing the same issue, except when I drive and accelerate there is a hissing sound inside the system. Weeks prior I was hearing sparking in the engine bay. Like I don't know if it was the ac compressor. It was kicking on and off by itself when though I turned the AC off

Check your Freon pressure low should read in range of 30-45 psi high side 250 or around. With ac running. It might need reservice with using ac machine need good 20 minutes vaccuming
Brother man love your videos. My 16 Rav 4 was blowing little less cold air when I put a thermometer on the vent I was getting 60 degree F. I went to a local shop he added little more now it’s seems cold. The question is is it okey to add. He didn’t drain anything. I also have a other question different subject. I recently checked alignment the rear camber is off and they said it’s not adjustable and my car in my understanding can’t be adjusted I heard accident can throw off that which I had a while ago. Well if u added and it worked good leave it as it is if it’s working good!!! Other wise I usully recomend do complet ac service recover vaccum and recharge with ac mahcine
2006 to 2012 *Ford Fusion* and the Air blows cold for just a few seconds and then turns to heat, click the temperature control nob two clicks to the right off the coldest setting and start the car/AC. Some folks have said that turning on the headlights and fog lights on also works. I haven't tried it yet because it is 90 degrees here and I'm leaving my AC on and don't want to mess with anything until fall. Apparently, there is some service notification about the computer related to all the vehicle cabin functions and controls that is causing this.

I have 2011 Nissan Altima it’s blowing hot air that’s it. My compressor good and everything but the man telling me that the wire is short with the fuses to the compressor so idk what to do
No wire that's fancy talk , more likely to be a fuse and or relay or metering device like orifice tube or txv metering device; after those are checked still would have to recover the freon and vacuum the system lines and then finally charge the system up .
2002 Ford Focus, green & yellow zone fluctuating pressure per the refill gauge, compressor and clutch come on and off, but no cold air blows because on settings 1,2,3 (not 4) the A/C button will depress and light up, clutch engages, but NO air blows. In Setting 4 the A/C button light goes off, and a brief bit of cold air comes out, then air turns warm.
I sold the car. There were several opinions why it blew hot air only. It was definitely properly charged. But when I put it on AC, setting 4, it would blow only hot air and the AC light went off. Settings 1-3, compressor cycled on and off. Lines cold. Only warm / hot air. But at setting 4, AC light would not stay on. It was weird, because on the 1 to 3 settings the AC light would go on, the compressor could cycle, the charge was perfect, but no cold air. Only warm or even hot air. Frustrating. At least three or four different people had three or four different opinions about different sensors related to the AC: blower blend door sensor, air diffuser, blower sensor, or other door mechanisms? IDK. etc. As much as I hate to say it, I gave up. The car was bought to flip, and I did not make any money on it at all. Lost money. First and last Focus. It had an even worse "sudden problem" 200 miles after I got it - a head gasket started leaking. Luckily it wasn't a horrible leak. It only leaked coolant up near the spark plugs. It's an area about 4 inches deep and there's nowhere for fluids to go. But the coolant doesn't evaporate, and pools in this little area where the four spark plugs pop up on the cylinder head, and coolant pools. This caused shorting / grounding and corrosion to the top of the plugs. You can take a blower / vacuum and clear all the coolant out of there and the car runs halfway decent for a minute until coolant again starts to leak back in there and causes the same grounding and shorting problems. Coolant does not evaporate, it just boils in that area. From what I learned this area also tends to leak at the valve gaskets there and oil pools around the spark plugs and causes the same grounding and shorting problems. Thats how I knew I had gotten cheated. There were records for the plugs and plug wires having been changed just a couple thousand miles previously. Also, for the water pump and some other repairs up there. Clearly the car had overheated. Some repairs have been done. But the head gasket had probably just been patched with some stop leak. For there to be that much corrosion on the newer plugs and plug wires Proved to me that there had been some leaking after the repairs have been done and that's why the car had been sitting for so long and used with such low miles. I ended up using a product called, "Steel Seal" 🙏 Steel Seal is expensive, but when it's applied correctly / according to the manufactures exact criteria - it can work. Its liquid glass. Online videos show Steel Seal being used incorrectly. Correct is: Clean all the coolant out, fill with water, add Steel Seal, run at 3,000 rpms for 30 minutes, ensuring system stays full and hot, then shut off and let cool down. Product is no longer active once it cools off. Its Liquid glass and ideally fills the leaking gasket areas if its possible. Who knows? It could run for who knows how long. Worth a try! I talked to the US Steel Seal rep, and he said "just make sure you do it according to the exact instructions, and let God do the rest." Cool guy. 🙏 Thanks! We talked about how the online videos, especially two older ones by Scotty Kilmer, 10 and 12 years old, are both showing incorrect use of the product. A product called Blue Devil (?) is applied the way Scotty shows. But, not Steel Seal. I highly recommend Steel Seal. Be sure you order it from the US Distributor, at Steel Seal USA on Amazon, or else you might get a fake product. Anyhow, it sealed up and ran good, again. I changed the plugs, plug wires and sold it at a loss over my investment. Could've gotten way more for it if the AC was working. There was a heat wave that month. No more Ford Focus' for me. A head gasket repair on those things is very costly, and needs to be done by a professional, in my opinion. It could've run at least 1500 bucks. I'm not sure those cars are worth spending all that much money on. But if you're a mechanic I'm pretty sure you could buy and sell those cars because it seems like they all have similar problems. Let's face it, they're kind of disposable cars after they reach close to 150,000 miles. Very Cheaply made. Thx for your video and opinions, folks.
i have a situation as describe in the video, i have pressure on both low and high side, and its consistence, clutch engages, fuse is good, relay is good, ac comes one, condenser has no leaks, took it to a shop, they recharge the ac, and it still warm air coming out, going to check the blend door actuator next.
I hope you can help and this maybe a repeat question but I have a 2014 Sentra Sr. I've taking to 2 mechanics on that does foreign cars and the nissan dealership. Last year I explained my ac was going in and out. It would be very cold when driving on highway, then it would only get cool driving on highway. This month once I turned it on since it's been warmer. I get warm air. In March I took it to nissan,explained to get ahead of problem they said it had freon, no codes, and they was getting very cold they used advice to check when it was on. I told them it wouldn't be right bc it's not hot yet and it doesn't work when it warm. Of course they said they ran all diagnostic and I have no ac issues 🙄. As of yesterday there is no cool air coming out. It was cooler outside than in Mt car. It was about 78 low humidity. Anyway in early March I noticed the heat doesn't get hot either. We had a week of cold and me heat only got warm and took forever to defrost my windows. Sorry this is long but I just need some direction to go in. I have successfully watched other tubers and did process of eliminating issues that were apparent, able to go to a shop and say fix this only and problem solved. I will try to feel the bars like you did in the video is there any other advice you can give me. Also, there's no leaks under my car or smells, I have never had any dashboard lights come on. I keep maintenance up on my car. SORRY SO LONG.
I understand stand ur issue how every dealer didn’t tackle the job or diagnose it properly anyways. # 1. Have a good mechanic let them service the system wi try ac machine when they use ac machine they will see how much Freon is recovered from the system and compair the amount with how much it suppose to have if it got correct amount then u can rule out that it’s low… but if it’s didn’t recover the correct amount. Then us issue is low Freon…… that’s number 1 step. By the way. Put ur ac on ad see if the radiator fans come on?? Check it few times some times it will work and some time it will not work. That’s so Thing u can do ur self this very car u see in this video had bad fan it over heated how ever it will also cause ac not to be cold enough
Hey, I have a PT cruiser 2003. They stopped working as well as it was over six months. I bought a can of Freon from the store charged it but now it’s still blowing hot and I noticed that I kept the gauge from the can on there and it would be blood pressure then drop down instantly and build up again drop-down instant instantly and then it was holding for a little bit, but they ain’t never got cold. I’m not sure. Is it a high low is it the compressor? I’m not sure do you know anything about that?
2007 honda Civic. A/c stopped blowing cold air. Compressor engages, radiator fans turn on, change temperature knob from hot to cold and it changes temperature but not super cold just regular outdoor temperature. Tried to recharge ac but it won't take refrigerant. Seems to have too much pressure. Not sure what to check next.

2019 Jeep wrangler 2.0 everything looks good it engages fuses and relays good, clutch engages, the sensor on the compressor it has a full closed circuit when I checked it with the multimeter…just filled the R1234yf blower motor blowing ahaha help 😂 the hi and low pressure lines are hot. I didn’t see any sensors on either of the lines. The heater is obviously hot hot and the ac is just hot. I had vacuumed the system and recharged it with the 17g it says to load.
Did u check ur bleed door motor if it operates very common issue with these but u said ur low side line is hot 🤔 ummm how did u fill the refrigeration?
Hello, I have a 2009 ford escape. It was blowing hot air during the day and cold at night. I realized the condenser fan is not running so I replaced it. However it is still blowing warm air when ambient air is above 85degrees. The compressor only engages at night. During the day, it cycles on and quickly cycles off. Shop said to replace the entire system. What do you think?
Usully this type of issue is caused by low refrigeration which will not make too cool of air and in sun day light u will feel hot but at night it will get cold because u don’t have the heat from sun anyways do ac service completly recover vaccum recharge
My dodge charger is doing this I believe cuz since the temp outside is above 85 more like a 100 and its blowing hot air and in the morning when it's only like 65 it'll blow colder everything is working so I need to kno how to resolve this problem too

What if the compressor is on already when you start the car? As if it never shuts off? Everything is spinning 😂so I can’t tell if it’s even off when I start the car.
I love your videos……. AC comes on, AC compressor kicks on and off, the blender motor changes from hot to mild.. Fans are blowing, not hard but spinning. Mechanic said that it was full of Freon. What should I do next? Also, I change the cabin filter. I did notice that the lines didn’t get cold.
My ac system seems to be working but it doesn’t get cold at ALL. When I turn on the heat at night (when it’s cold out) it doesn’t get warm until after about 5-10 minutes of max air+max heat. Would I just need more Freon or will I need to flush it first? If it needs to be flushed would I save more money doing it myself or having a professional do it? I’m a broke college student in AZ’s random hot/cold weather so I’ve been trying to find out the best solution possible.
Well ac issue might be ur system is low on Freon but do it propperly vaccum the system with machine and reserve the system and about heat check ur blend door motor and coolant level before anything else

You have to do the Freon service with ac machine recover vaccum and recharge what ur doing will destroy the system it’s prolly over filled too much pressure and will not accept anymore

This is my dads car,his favorite car(he sold his vet) cant I just pry it with a straight edge screwdriver after disconecting the battery?
Some Relays are bolted in, simply remove the Panel's relay perimiter guard exposing the bottom of the relays, remove bad relay with nut driver and install new relay!
@@RBTheMechanic 99 Toyota 4runner Altenator relay fuse bolted to the box. Destroyed the relay during removal with pieces of the relay still attached in the panel. Trial and error!
@@RBTheMechanic I think he filled it thinking that was the problem and then showed me some measurements which mean nothing to me. He then said I will take it out so you wouldn't be charged for it.
I have a 2018 Honda Civic, so I tested it my AC it blows cool on one side but warmer on the other, checked for freon and it has plenty of it. But it’s still not blowing as cold as it should be. Checked the compressor and it kicks on. The change the temperature and from hot to cold and it changed with the dials. What could it possibly be? I’m thinking possible condenser?
I’m not how u checked Freon and it’s plenty only way to check that is to recover it with ac machine and it will measure the ounces how ever u might be checking coolant level u maybe low on Freon or maybe one of the blend doors not working is ur car dual system? It’s good how u figured out the temp changes !!! But do u have dual temp control?
@@RBTheMechanic my friend is a mechanic and he took vacuumed it out, and he showed it to me and it was good, then he filled it up to the capacity. And it still blows warmer than it should be. My car does have a dual system, so it could be one of the blenders. My year has a condenser issue and honda extended it to 10 years unlimited miles. I’m going to take it to the dealer, and for a diagnostic they’re charging $250. If it is the condenser then I don’t have to pay for it because the warranty. It’s just so weird and I live in AZ so it’s starting to get hot as hell outside and inside a hotter car it starts to suck.
My AC was recharged and serviced at the dealership. When the temperature is 98° or higher, the AC does not cool the car sufficiently, especially driving around in the city.
Did u check to see if the fan is running see if there’s any dirt debris on ac condenser in front that can cause less cooling other wise it could be the service didn’t go well or has a leak in system
@@RBTheMechanic i had the same thing done too but the low pressure is still in 50s psi which is the same as before taking the car to shop(checked it my self). They advise to change everything but ac is cooling( clutch is engaging)just not icey cold so thus the compress should be ok right? Any suggestions

That might be ur problem redue the ac service. Use ac machine recover everything. Then vaccum for 20 minutes after that add correct amount oil and refrigeration
I heard you say there are 2 blender motors. So if my ac is cold, and when I up/lower the fan I hear it going mire/less but there isn't air coming out of the vents? Would this be the blender motor for the vents? 2015 rogue
Do you have any advice for a 2015 dodge Durango? I tried recharging it, switched the fuse, added freon but it's still blowing hot air 🙁 it makes a hissing nose when I cut the AC on but its just pulling air from the outside. I'm in Georgia and this summer is brutal
Yes I have advice for you… start with scanning the HVAC system so with high end scan tool see if there’s any codes. Watch my recent video on Toyota Highlander it had code for ac flow sensor $10 part shut the ac system down. So if there are any codes please let me know

Q. What if the AC clutch engages for 5 secs then stops spinning? Also, while AC is running, the low pressure AC line is only cool to the touch. I have warm air blowing thru vents inside cab. Any ideas? Low freon level? Faulty AC clutch switch?

I did take my truck to a reputable shop, they performed AC service, pulled a vacuum, held for 10-15 mins w/no loss of pressure, recharged it and now I have cold air blowing thru my vents!! Yeah!!! BTW, over many years, I had taken my truck to AC specialists who insisted that the whole AC system had to be replaced for $1,600 to $2,000! Glad, I passed and said no to them. An honest mechanic is worth his weight in gold.
2014 Nissan Altima dual air. That silver line doesn't get cold. My air blows but hot both sides but even hotter on the driver side. Is it low on freon ?
My wife's car started blowing warm air when in idle or at stop lights but would blow cold on the highways/ driving. We don't know anything about cars so we assumed it was the compressor so we took it to Firestone and they replaced our compressor. After the installation her car is still blowing hot muggy air in idle and coolish to cold air when driving. Can you please help me with what could be wrong.
Check to see if ur fan is working this one had issue with fan it will work and stop here and there so u have to moniter it put the ac on and check it few time from what ur telling me it’s getting air from running highway and when u come to stop it dosent cool down cuz there no air
Hey, I have a Honda CRV 2016 that doesn’t blow cold air but it does lower the temperature when I turn on the ac. I checked the freon and it has pressure. I checked fuses and relay and they both work. Hello, my friend.. I have this issue... The a/c compressor kicks on and that high line is cool but not cold and the low line is kinda warm. I have a Accumulator as I touch it seems hot and doesn't get cold at all.. It has enough freon.. But inside my truck you can barely feel cool air as it is kinda warm a little.. My compressor does make a slight whining noise... I don't know if I should just replace the whole thing.. The compressor and Accumulator. Let me know if you what you think it may be better to just replace the whole thing.. I was thinking also getting vacuum out and put freon in but might be the same problem..

My 18 civic has been making a rattling noise with compressor on since i bought it over two years ago. I had to top off the freon last year a little but it still works good. Dunno if i should bother replacing it or just keep running it
dear i am having a problem with my toyota corolla car ac , in the past it was working ok then the fuses were going bad due to shortage in compressor coil. after changing coil and pully from with a smaller pully , not ac not throwing cold air at all and ac compressor is getting hot. i was advised to change the compressor. as this is getting hot and making back pressure. what do you think on this is all. bcoz my point is the even if the compressor is weak it should make low cooling . buy why not cooling.???
I have a 2005 Chevy equinox and the ac system will just blow hot air. All the readings seem to be fine but I’m just at a loss in this 100 degree heat.Any help at all would be appreciated.Currently can’t afford any crazy shop costs.
Check power to ac compressor if all reading is fine and look to see if ac compressor enagages reading can be of hot air pressure instead of refrigeration

My line is staying warm but it sounds like the compressor clutch is coming on obviously blowing warm in the cabin as well, has my compressor kicked the bucket?

It works very cold air most of the time but sometimes it stops blowing cold air when I park it several minutes and run AC at idle . Yah verrry hot in San Antonio like gets over 100 degrees often . To be clear- I let it idle when Parked for several minutes and it stops blowing cool air only warm . Last time it wouldn’t blow cool air even running it at fast speed. I have a Kia soul 2012. 2.0L and the compressor are leaking a yellow liquid for some time. I've tried to seal it with RTV silicone, but I think is not working. Do you think I need to replace the compressor? This car has only 73 K miles, so why you think is leaking? We are in winter so we don't use it too much for now, but in summer this place will get 105 to 115 degrees. -- I have a quote to replace it for $ 1700.00

The AC line has no temp changes. Ac comp runs but Radiator fan does not run. Is that part of the problem why AC does not get cold? I check fuses and relay and they are all good. Did direct power on fan and it turns. What else should i check? Temp sensor?

Ok so i have 03 honda pilot and i just recently fix the whole ac with a new compressor,o.rings,expantion valve and new evaporator/condeser and new dryer o no leaks did a full vacum on system then recharge with freon and 4 days later ac stops blowing cold so i put my gauges in to check pressure and they both even at 110 but low side line still hot and compressor not kicking on and at this point not sure if is compressor or expansion valve not activating all relay and fuses are good what can the problem be?? Compressor is a Refurbish not brand new was working
Hey I have a 2015 Nissan Altima s. I put a new compressor,condenser,ex valve , and cabin air filter.. ac blows cool then warm when I touch the line it’s wet but warm..what else should I do

I have. A 2016 Altima .. the air blows but it’s not as cold as it use to be .. when we put it on the recharge thing it’s in the red but when we took some out it got hot so it’s like it have to be in red in order to even blow cool .. u think u may know what’s the problem ?
Recharge the system by using ac machine recover then vaccum it for 20 minutes and recharge it this would be first step it could be low or too high!! Then update me with results
If your car is only blowing hot or only blowing cold you need to make sure your blend door motor is working if it’s stuck it won’t change the temperature in your car
2013 Malibu ac stopped blowing cold air, when the day before it was working just fine. Found that the Ac Clutch 10 amp fuse keeps blowing after a few minutes after I turn on Ac. It’ll blow cold air until the fuse blows. All other fuses/ relays are good. Is this an electrical issue or is my compressor bad? Is there anything else I can check before replacing my compressor?
Hello sir. ive been trying to get some answer on my car ac. hope you can help me. I havea Hyundai elantra 2011 and when i turn on my ac the engine is supose to go a bit higher. it doesnt. my ac temp is not cold but cool. My car has only one fan( radiator / condensor) . i know when ac is turned on the fan has to run at high speed, and then it should toggle between high and low depending on the circumstances. My compressor kick in but it doesnt cut off. relays ans fuses are ok. Freon is ok. hope you can help figure this out.Personally i think its the Fan
My a/c gets cold when the compressor is on but sometimes it turns off than stops blowing cold air usuall does it at a stop light or when I’m driving but at idle works fine. Freon is good I checked it with a pressure gauge and fans kick on I have new high and low pressure switch and new compressor. Can it be the condenser? 2002 Escalade

@@RBTheMechanic thank you. Now that makes me wonder if the mechanic is right or not. Basically he said my clutch was not engaging because I didn't have enough freon. He drained and did a recharge with freon but was not getting cold and it was due to the drier that had filter that he said was clogged and that I needed valve changed. But you say it's rare. Now I'm more concerned if that's going to fix it. He said if they didn't get my ac cold, then i needed compressor.

My clutch clicks in but i think not engaging and turning compressor properly because pressures stay the same as standing pressure. Standing pressure is near perfect by charts. When on All pipes no cooling. Expansion valve is Not cold. Im thinking clutch really not clutching.?? Seems everything as normal. Gas amount, relays, etc. Should i give up and replace compressor at shop?

I would first do ac service some times low or no Freon or hot air pressure can cause this type of issue that is step one. Also after that it could be relay if it got one I know some of these be controlled by computer or ac compressor can cut off as it get hot. But start with refrigerant service

I hate that all the videos I've seen on RUclips is only if the AC isn't cold at all. Ours blows just fresh air but not cold and the freon isn't low. So I'm not sure what could be wrong with it.

Hi - thanks for the video. I have an issue with my AC and looking for any ideas to fix.
Compressor comes on, belts are ok, clutch engages. Pressure is fine, AC Pro gauge says AC refrigerant is full.
Low side hose doesn’t get cold though.
Does the refrigerant wear out over time???? I’ve had the car 15 years and never had it re-gassed. It just stopped blowing cold this summer.

Everything is good ur ac should work how ever that pro gas cans stuff could mess up the system make sure all works lot of people say all work but then somthing dosent. If ac compressor come on clutch engage and it got correct amount Freon ac should and be cold or ur compressor is not building pressure

How was your issue resolved? I'm experiencing the same issue, except when I drive and accelerate there is a hissing sound inside the system. Weeks prior I was hearing sparking in the engine bay. Like I don't know if it was the ac compressor. It was kicking on and off by itself when though I turned the AC off

Check your Freon pressure low should read in range of 30-45 psi high side 250 or around. With ac running. It might need reservice with using ac machine need good 20 minutes vaccuming

Brother man love your videos. My 16 Rav 4 was blowing little less cold air when I put a thermometer on the vent I was getting 60 degree F. I went to a local shop he added little more now it’s seems cold. The question is is it okey to add. He didn’t drain anything.
I also have a other question different subject. I recently checked alignment the rear camber is off and they said it’s not adjustable and my car in my understanding can’t be adjusted I heard accident can throw off that which I had a while ago. Please advise brother.

2006 to 2012 *Ford Fusion* and the Air blows cold for just a few seconds and then turns to heat, click the temperature control nob two clicks to the right off the coldest setting and start the car/AC. Some folks have said that turning on the headlights and fog lights on also works. I haven't tried it yet because it is 90 degrees here and I'm leaving my AC on and don't want to mess with anything until fall.
Apparently, there is some service notification about the computer related to all the vehicle cabin functions and controls that is causing this.

No wire that's fancy talk , more likely to be a fuse and or relay or metering device like orifice tube or txv metering device; after those are checked still would have to recover the freon and vacuum the system lines and then finally charge the system up .

2002 Ford Focus, green & yellow zone fluctuating pressure per the refill gauge, compressor and clutch come on and off, but no cold air blows because on settings 1,2,3 (not 4) the A/C button will depress and light up, clutch engages, but NO air blows. In Setting 4 the A/C button light goes off, and a brief bit of cold air comes out, then air turns warm.

I sold the car. There were several opinions why it blew hot air only.
It was definitely properly charged. But when I put it on AC, setting 4, it would blow only hot air and the AC light went off.
Settings 1-3, compressor cycled on and off. Lines cold. Only warm / hot air.
But at setting 4, AC light would not stay on. It was weird, because on the 1 to 3 settings the AC light would go on, the compressor could cycle, the charge was perfect, but no cold air.
Only warm or even hot air. Frustrating.
At least three or four different people had three or four different opinions about different sensors related to the AC:
blower blend door sensor, air diffuser,
blower sensor, or other door mechanisms? IDK.
etc.
As much as I hate to say it, I gave up.
The car was bought to flip, and I did not make any money on it at all. Lost money. First and last Focus.
It had an even worse "sudden problem" 200 miles after I got it - a head gasket started leaking.
Luckily it wasn't a horrible leak. It only leaked coolant up near the spark plugs. It's an area about 4 inches deep and there's nowhere for fluids to go.
But the coolant doesn't evaporate, and pools in this little area where the four spark plugs pop up on the cylinder head, and coolant pools.
This caused shorting / grounding and corrosion to the top of the plugs. You can take a blower / vacuum and clear all the coolant out of there and the car runs halfway decent for a minute until coolant again starts to leak back in there and causes the same grounding and shorting problems. Coolant does not evaporate, it just boils in that area.
From what I learned this area also tends to leak at the valve gaskets there and oil pools around the spark plugs and causes the same grounding and shorting problems.
Thats how I knew I had gotten cheated. There were records for the plugs and plug wires having been changed just a couple thousand miles previously. Also, for the water pump and some other repairs up there. Clearly the car had overheated. Some repairs have been done. But the head gasket had probably just been patched with some stop leak. For there to be that much corrosion on the newer plugs and plug wires Proved to me that there had been some leaking after the repairs have been done and that's why the car had been sitting for so long and used with such low miles.
I ended up using a product called, "Steel Seal" 🙏
Steel Seal is expensive, but when it's applied correctly / according to the manufactures exact criteria - it can work.
Its liquid glass.
Online videos show Steel Seal being used incorrectly.
Correct is:
Clean all the coolant out,
fill with water,
add Steel Seal,
run at 3,000 rpms for 30 minutes, ensuring system stays full and hot,
then shut off and let cool down.
Product is no longer active once it cools off.
Its Liquid glass and ideally fills the leaking gasket areas if its possible.
Who knows?
It could run for who knows how long.
Worth a try!
I talked to the US Steel Seal rep, and he said "just make sure you do it according to the exact instructions, and let God do the rest."

We talked about how the online videos, especially two older ones by Scotty Kilmer, 10 and 12 years old, are both showing incorrect use of the product.
A product called Blue Devil (?) is applied the way Scotty shows.
But, not Steel Seal.
I highly recommend Steel Seal. Be sure you order it from the US Distributor, at Steel Seal USA on Amazon, or else you might get a fake product.
Anyhow, it sealed up and ran good, again.
I changed the plugs, plug wires and sold it at a loss over my investment.
Could've gotten way more for it if the AC was working.
There was a heat wave that month.
No more Ford Focus' for me.
A head gasket repair on those things is very costly, and needs to be done by a professional, in my opinion.
It could've run at least 1500 bucks. I'm not sure those cars are worth spending all that much money on.
But if you're a mechanic I'm pretty sure you could buy and sell those cars because it seems like they all have similar problems.
Let's face it, they're kind of disposable cars after they reach close to 150,000 miles. Very Cheaply made.

i have a situation as describe in the video, i have pressure on both low and high side, and its consistence, clutch engages, fuse is good, relay is good, ac comes one, condenser has no leaks, took it to a shop, they recharge the ac, and it still warm air coming out, going to check the blend door actuator next.

I hope you can help and this maybe a repeat question but I have a 2014 Sentra Sr. I've taking to 2 mechanics on that does foreign cars and the nissan dealership. Last year I explained my ac was going in and out. It would be very cold when driving on highway, then it would only get cool driving on highway. This month once I turned it on since it's been warmer. I get warm air. In March I took it to nissan,explained to get ahead of problem they said it had freon, no codes, and they was getting very cold they used advice to check when it was on. I told them it wouldn't be right bc it's not hot yet and it doesn't work when it warm. Of course they said they ran all diagnostic and I have no ac issues 🙄. As of yesterday there is no cool air coming out. It was cooler outside than in Mt car. It was about 78 low humidity. Anyway in early March I noticed the heat doesn't get hot either. We had a week of cold and me heat only got warm and took forever to defrost my windows. Sorry this is long but I just need some direction to go in. I have successfully watched other tubers and did process of eliminating issues that were apparent, able to go to a shop and say fix this only and problem solved. I will try to feel the bars like you did in the video is there any other advice you can give me. Also, there's no leaks under my car or smells, I have never had any dashboard lights come on. I keep maintenance up on my car. SORRY SO LONG.
I understand stand ur issue how every dealer didn’t tackle the job or diagnose it properly anyways. # 1. Have a good mechanic let them service the system wi try ac machine when they use ac machine they will see how much Freon is recovered from the system and compair the amount with how much it suppose to have if it got correct amount then u can rule out that it’s low… but if it’s didn’t recover the correct amount. Then us issue is low Freon…… that’s number 1 step. By the way. Put ur ac on ad see if the radiator fans come on?? Check it few times some times it will work and some time it will not work. That’s so

Hey, I have a PT cruiser 2003. They stopped working as well as it was over six months. I bought a can of Freon from the store charged it but now it’s still blowing hot and I noticed that I kept the gauge from the can on there and it would be blood pressure then drop down instantly and build up again drop-down instant instantly and then it was holding for a little bit, but they ain’t never got cold. I’m not sure. Is it a high low is it the compressor? I’m not sure do you know anything about that?
Well u need to service the system propperly with ac machine after that if it dosent work check fuse power relays
2007 honda Civic. A/c stopped blowing cold air. Compressor engages, radiator fans turn on, change temperature knob from hot to cold and it changes temperature but not super cold just regular outdoor temperature. Tried to recharge ac but it won't take refrigerant. Seems to have too much pressure. Not sure what to check next.
Check to see if u have pressure Freon it might be low and double check and conform ur compressor engages

2019 Jeep wrangler 2.0 everything looks good it engages fuses and relays good, clutch engages, the sensor on the compressor it has a full closed circuit when I checked it with the multimeter…just filled the R1234yf blower motor blowing ahaha help 😂 the hi and low pressure lines are hot. I didn’t see any sensors on either of the lines. The heater is obviously hot hot and the ac is just hot. I had vacuumed the system and recharged it with the 17g it says to load.
Did u check ur bleed door motor if it operates very common issue with these but u said ur low side line is hot 🤔 ummm how did u fill the refrigeration?
Hello, I have a 2009 ford escape. It was blowing hot air during the day and cold at night. I realized the condenser fan is not running so I replaced it. However it is still blowing warm air when ambient air is above 85degrees. The compressor only engages at night. During the day, it cycles on and quickly cycles off. Shop said to replace the entire system. What do you think?
Usully this type of issue is caused by low refrigeration which will not make too cool of air and in sun day light u will feel hot but at night it will get cold because u don’t have the heat from sun anyways do ac service completly recover vaccum recharge
My dodge charger is doing this I believe cuz since the temp outside is above 85 more like a 100 and its blowing hot air and in the morning when it's only like 65 it'll blow colder everything is working so I need to kno how to resolve this problem too

I love your videos……. AC comes on, AC compressor kicks on and off, the blender motor changes from hot to mild.. Fans are blowing, not hard but spinning. Mechanic said that it was full of Freon. What should I do next? Also, I change the cabin filter. I did notice that the lines didn’t get cold.

My ac system seems to be working but it doesn’t get cold at ALL. When I turn on the heat at night (when it’s cold out) it doesn’t get warm until after about 5-10 minutes of max air+max heat. Would I just need more Freon or will I need to flush it first? If it needs to be flushed would I save more money doing it myself or having a professional do it? I’m a broke college student in AZ’s random hot/cold weather so I’ve been trying to find out the best solution possible.
Well ac issue might be ur system is low on Freon but do it propperly vaccum the system with machine and reserve the system and about heat check ur blend door motor and coolant level before anything else

You have to do the Freon service with ac machine recover vaccum and recharge what ur doing will destroy the system it’s prolly over filled too much pressure and will not accept anymore
@@RBTheMechanic thank you for reply. thats the thing,there is no freon in the system. So I jumped it with paperclip, clutch engages, but its not taking freon. Ive noticed, when trying to rotate clutch by hand, when car is off, there is no slight resistance, as it should be usually.

Yeah those some time get stuck usully I wiggle them with needle nose plyer slowely they come off
Some Relays are bolted in, simply remove the Panel's relay perimiter guard exposing the bottom of the relays, remove bad relay with nut driver and install new relay!

@@RBTheMechanic 99 Toyota 4runner Altenator relay fuse bolted to the box. Destroyed the relay during removal with pieces of the relay still attached in the panel. Trial and error!

It will slowely leak from there not low but sure will also if it start to leak it will go fast some time that valve give up

It can cause restriction and ice can build up depending on where ac systym with not work propperly
I have a 2018 Honda Civic, so I tested it my AC it blows cool on one side but warmer on the other, checked for freon and it has plenty of it. But it’s still not blowing as cold as it should be. Checked the compressor and it kicks on. The change the temperature and from hot to cold and it changed with the dials. What could it possibly be? I’m thinking possible condenser?
I’m not how u checked Freon and it’s plenty only way to check that is to recover it with ac machine and it will measure the ounces how ever u might be checking coolant level u maybe low on Freon or maybe one of the blend doors not working is ur car dual system? It’s good how u figured out the temp changes !!! But do u have dual temp control?
@@RBTheMechanic my friend is a mechanic and he took vacuumed it out, and he showed it to me and it was good, then he filled it up to the capacity. And it still blows warmer than it should be. My car does have a dual system, so it could be one of the blenders. My year has a condenser issue and honda extended it to 10 years unlimited miles. I’m going to take it to the dealer, and for a diagnostic they’re charging $250. If it is the condenser then I don’t have to pay for it because the warranty. It’s just so weird and I live in AZ so it’s starting to get hot as hell outside and inside a hotter car it starts to suck.

My AC was recharged and serviced at the dealership. When the temperature is 98° or higher, the AC does not cool the car sufficiently, especially driving around in the city.
Did u check to see if the fan is running see if there’s any dirt debris on ac condenser in front that can cause less cooling other wise it could be the service didn’t go well or has a leak in system
@@RBTheMechanic i had the same thing done too but the low pressure is still in 50s psi which is the same as before taking the car to shop(checked it my self). They advise to change everything but ac is cooling( clutch is engaging)just not icey cold so thus the compress should be ok right? Any suggestions
They advise 1200 $ of repairs which seems a bit too much .

So it’s not the compressor, or relay or blow motor , low is not super cold but mid . So it’s low in Freon I think . So can I just recharge wort those cans and fix it??
That might be ur problem redue the ac service. Use ac machine recover everything. Then vaccum for 20 minutes after that add correct amount oil and refrigeration

Do you have any advice for a 2015 dodge Durango? I tried recharging it, switched the fuse, added freon but it's still blowing hot air 🙁 it makes a hissing nose when I cut the AC on but its just pulling air from the outside. I'm in Georgia and this summer is brutal
Yes I have advice for you… start with scanning the HVAC system so with high end scan tool see if there’s any codes. Watch my recent video on Toyota Highlander it had code for ac flow sensor $10 part shut the ac system down. So if there are any codes please let me know

I did take my truck to a reputable shop, they performed AC service, pulled a vacuum, held for 10-15 mins w/no loss of pressure, recharged it and now I have cold air blowing thru my vents!! Yeah!!! BTW, over many years, I had taken my truck to AC specialists who insisted that the whole AC system had to be replaced for $1,600 to $2,000! Glad, I passed and said no to them. An honest mechanic is worth his weight in gold.

2014 Nissan Altima dual air. That silver line doesn't get cold. My air blows but hot both sides but even hotter on the driver side. Is it low on freon ?

My wife's car started blowing warm air when in idle or at stop lights but would blow cold on the highways/ driving. We don't know anything about cars so we assumed it was the compressor so we took it to Firestone and they replaced our compressor. After the installation her car is still blowing hot muggy air in idle and coolish to cold air when driving. Can you please help me with what could be wrong.
Check to see if ur fan is working this one had issue with fan it will work and stop here and there so u have to moniter it put the ac on and check it few time from what ur telling me it’s getting air from running highway and when u come to stop it dosent cool down cuz there no air

Hey, I have a Honda CRV 2016 that doesn’t blow cold air but it does lower the temperature when I turn on the ac. I checked the freon and it has pressure. I checked fuses and relay and they both work. The only think I notice is that both the radiator fans don’t turn on whenever I turn on the AC… What should I do next?

I have a 2010 centra and I don’t have hot or cold air. I ordered a new blower and it seems to be working fine. The AC like you mentioned is ice cold but no cold air. Any suggestions? I have already checked fuses and everything checked out
Well check ur blower motor it might be bad or resistor try putting it in highest speed

Hello, my friend.. I have this issue... The a/c compressor kicks on and that high line is cool but not cold and the low line is kinda warm. I have a Accumulator as I touch it seems hot and doesn't get cold at all.. It has enough freon.. But inside my truck you can barely feel cool air as it is kinda warm a little.. My compressor does make a slight whining noise... I don't know if I should just replace the whole thing.. The compressor and Accumulator. Let me know if you what you think it may be better to just replace the whole thing.. I was thinking also getting vacuum out and put freon in but might be the same problem..

@@RBTheMechanic I just went ahead and ordered a compressor and accumulator kit with the oil and high a/c line.. I'll just replace the whole thing call it a day..
Did replacing the compressor solve your problem?
My 18 civic has been making a rattling noise with compressor on since i bought it over two years ago. I had to top off the freon last year a little but it still works good. Dunno if i should bother replacing it or just keep running it

U mean strong as air pressure? Check ur cabin filter

dear i am having a problem with my toyota corolla car ac , in the past it was working ok then the fuses were going bad due to shortage in compressor coil. after changing coil and pully from with a smaller pully , not ac not throwing cold air at all and ac compressor is getting hot. i was advised to change the compressor. as this is getting hot and making back pressure. what do you think on this is all. bcoz my point is the even if the compressor is weak it should make low cooling . buy why not cooling.???

I have a 2005 Chevy equinox and the ac system will just blow hot air. All the readings seem to be fine but I’m just at a loss in this 100 degree heat.Any help at all would be appreciated.Currently can’t afford any crazy shop costs.
Check power to ac compressor if all reading is fine and look to see if ac compressor enagages reading can be of hot air pressure instead of refrigeration

It works very cold air most of the time but sometimes it stops blowing cold air when I park it several minutes and run AC at idle . Yah verrry hot in San Antonio like gets over 100 degrees often . To be clear- I let it idle when Parked for several minutes and it stops blowing cool air only warm . Last time it wouldn’t blow cool air even running it at fast speed. Only after about an hour it blew cold air . Is that normal for car to do this ? I’ve heard that AC always work better when cars moving especially if its this hot 🥵? Funny yesterday it did that and I turned car off completely for a minute then turned on and AC working fine started blowing cold air . Like it needed to reset..15 Ford Fusion SE 2.5 L
Yes it work better when car moving but do check ur fans and have ac systym reserviced u never know it might be low on refrigration

I have a Kia soul 2012. 2.0L and the compressor are leaking a yellow liquid for some time. I've tried to seal it with RTV silicone, but I think is not working. Do you think I need to replace the compressor? This car has only 73 K miles, so why you think is leaking? We are in winter so we don't use it too much for now, but in summer this place will get 105 to 115 degrees.

Usully rpm don’t go up when ac comes on it puts the load on engine anways did u see if ur ac compressor engages? Also check Freon pressure reading

The AC line has no temp changes. Ac comp runs but Radiator fan does not run. Is that part of the problem why AC does not get cold? I check fuses and relay and they are all good. Did direct power on fan and it turns. What else should i check? Temp sensor?

Ok so i have 03 honda pilot and i just recently fix the whole ac with a new compressor,o.rings,expantion valve and new evaporator/condeser and new dryer o no leaks did a full vacum on system then recharge with freon and 4 days later ac stops blowing cold so i put my gauges in to check pressure and they both even at 110 but low side line still hot and compressor not kicking on and at this point not sure if is compressor or expansion valve not activating all relay and fuses are good what can the problem be?? Compressor is a Refurbish not brand new was working
Did u swap the relays and check fuses. And scan for codes hvac moduel

I have. A 2016 Altima .. the air blows but it’s not as cold as it use to be .. when we put it on the recharge thing it’s in the red but when we took some out it got hot so it’s like it have to be in red in order to even blow cool .. u think u may know what’s the problem ?
Recharge the system by using ac machine recover then vaccum it for 20 minutes and recharge it this would be first step it could be low or too high!! Then update me with results
If your car is only blowing hot or only blowing cold you need to make sure your blend door motor is working if it’s stuck it won’t change the temperature in your car

2013 Malibu ac stopped blowing cold air, when the day before it was working just fine. Found that the Ac Clutch 10 amp fuse keeps blowing after a few minutes after I turn on Ac. It’ll blow cold air until the fuse blows. All other fuses/ relays are good. Is this an electrical issue or is my compressor bad? Is there anything else I can check before replacing my compressor?
Check the circuit and check Freon pressure could be too much locking up compressor to blow fuse or the compressor clutch coil is bad

Hello sir. ive been trying to get some answer on my car ac. hope you can help me. I havea Hyundai elantra 2011 and when i turn on my ac the engine is supose to go a bit higher. it doesnt. my ac temp is not cold but cool. My car has only one fan( radiator / condensor) . i know when ac is turned on the fan has to run at high speed, and then it should toggle between high and low depending on the circumstances. My compressor kick in but it doesnt cut off. relays ans fuses are ok. Freon is ok. hope you can help figure this out.Personally i think its the Fan
Seems like ur Freon might be low it will kick on but not make cold try servicing the systym

My a/c gets cold when the compressor is on but sometimes it turns off than stops blowing cold air usuall does it at a stop light or when I’m driving but at idle works fine. Freon is good I checked it with a pressure gauge and fans kick on I have new high and low pressure switch and new compressor. Can it be the condenser? 2002 Escalade

U have to check to see what’s leaking and determine it

@@RBTheMechanic thank you. Now that makes me wonder if the mechanic is right or not. Basically he said my clutch was not engaging because I didn't have enough freon. He drained and did a recharge with freon but was not getting cold and it was due to the drier that had filter that he said was clogged and that I needed valve changed. But you say it's rare. Now I'm more concerned if that's going to fix it. He said if they didn't get my ac cold, then i needed compressor.

My clutch clicks in but i think not engaging and turning compressor properly because pressures stay the same as standing pressure. Standing pressure is near perfect by charts. When on All pipes no cooling. Expansion valve is Not cold. Im thinking clutch really not clutching.?? Seems everything as normal. Gas amount, relays, etc. Should i give up and replace compressor at shop?

I would first do ac service some times low or no Freon or hot air pressure can cause this type of issue that is step one. Also after that it could be relay if it got one I know some of these be controlled by computer or ac compressor can cut off as it get hot. But start with refrigerant service

Check ur fuse and Freon pressure to start with if there’s no pressure on system it will not kick on
