If its cast iron put it in your oven on highest temp that will burn off or if you have a self cleaning oven that will work too. Then wash off good after cool and rub it with bacon grease
I got nervous watching you hack through the rust with a screwdriver. There are subtler methods for this. A nice piece of history found.
Wow! Who would think that all of that detail was there? It’s lovely!
After cleaning in an oven (as suggested belong), perhaps the holes can be filled with JB weld (before greasing or oiling). This is if you want to do more.
I would suggest using an electric or battery powered drill, and a 'Rotary Wire Wheel & Cup Brush' set. It would help in cleaning rust off without damaging metal underneath. It worked really well for me on some rusted tools I found in the yard and on several carriage bolts/nuts on wheel barrows I've put back into use. Other than that, good video.
I’ve been waiting for one of these for a while
That horse looks like it might’ve been the decorative top to a weather/wind vane at one time back in the day.
Actually turned out better than I thought! Could use a brush to clean out the inside and the pitting can be filled. That is a great restoration!
Turned out real nice. 👍👍
Yes, like a wired brush is this what you meant? I think that’s a very good idea. Different sizes.
I like your comment 👍🏼 happy holidays☃️🎄 from Canada🇨🇦
@@doreen0 Thank you! Happy holidays from the US. 🎄🎅
Very cool, I would scrub out the inside lightly with a stiff bristle brush (get all the large bits out) then move to a fine one. You can use Brass but not a steel brush ( it will damage the metal).
If you don't already have a set, you can get a miniature pic set at lowes for about $10. That may work better than a screwdriver on small things. Looks good btw!
That was so satisfying to watch!
Beautiful! That one turned out really nice.
I kringened watching you use a screwdriver to clean the horse
Absolutely fantastic what a marvellous job you did there Tyler beautiful‼👏🏼🏆
Wow that looks amazing so glad you did a video on this horse 🐎
Great restoration. I always get scared when the screwdriver comes out.
To see the detail come out was amazing! Beautiful. You did a great job!
You are one patient guy!
Wow! What a beautiful little horse it turned out to be! The harness details are so cool!
Dude! We love watching your magnet fishing videos! I know you started this restoration channel and it is interesting but you gotta talk. Even a little. We love listening to you magnet fish. You get so excited and it makes us smile.
Thanks for being a beautiful horse back to life.
Great job surprised there's that much detail left
This way cool. Love it. Bring something old back to life.
Very nice find priceless
Really cool to see the details revealed during the restoration process. It's in surprisingly good condition. It didn't look like much at the start. That was definitely worth the cleanup effort!
fake
@@luigi2622 what do you mean by that please
Now to find the mini merry go round it belongs to.
Wow, talk about a pains-taking process!!!!!!! It's kinda cool how electricity causes the corrosion, and does such a great job of removing it, phenomenal!!!!!!! Fascinating process, and a really cool treasure!!!!!!! Thank you Tyler💖
I think I live your restorations as much as your magnet fishing videos. So satisfying to watch! When are you gonna do the airplane?
Pretty SWEET MAN, looks AWESOME, can't wait to see what your gonna clean up next time, CYA SOON 🌞🌞🌞✌️👍🌈⛏️😎🏙️🌆
Forbidden chocolate bunny! 😂😂 Awesome find and great job restoring that horse! Very cool!
For future cleanings, keep an old toothbrush handy to brush away the old mud from the nooks and crannies of the find. Then, it should shine to almost its former glory. 😉
I began to wonder if you could have used a sonic jewelry cleaner after the electrolysis to remove the smaller bits. Just thinking out loud, I surely don't know.
Awesome job! It's like you actually give life again to this long lost horse!! So cool!!
Very nice job Tyler, you gave that iron horse a better life!! Way to go man!!
lol...omg thank you for getting a smaller screw drver,,,I was flinching the whole time!! That was so cool Tyler! horses are my favorite animals! that is a beautiful piece...awesome find!
It cleaned up really nice. I like it.
It's a wind vein for the top of an old barn ..nice
I'm so happy to see these videos return. 🌸💗🌸 I missed them
I was half expecting an electrocuted baby Frankie to fall out of the mud on the inside
Beautiful toy horse.
My daughter actually stumbled onto this channel - and for a change, she was watching something which I also found very cool! I am new to this channel so I don't know all the details as to where this guy lives etc. - but how shockingly polluted the world has become! Junk everywhere. Good job for all the effort he puts into removing all of that stuff from the water and restoring it!
Wow! What a epic job on that horse! 😮
You did a really good job restoring the horse. Have a great day my friend ❤️🙂⚘️.
That had to be so satisfying! Very cool!
That is awesome!
Use a soft brass brush to clean up further. Could have been part of a mechanical piggy bank?
0:58 57.2mm metal filled (heavier) balls are used for coin operated tables with a magnet system separating the white (metal) ball. Smaller diameter balls or larger diameter balls are used for coin operated tables that separate the ball by diameter.
It’s amazing how much detail survived the rust!!!
❤️❤️❤️👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
every cast iron toys or base statures i have gotten have 2 screws in them. nice job
you need to get a small media blasting booth . when I was in the navy, we had 2 types of "media for blasting material" we used walnut shells for the bigger parts and baking soda for the electronics.
I'm going for the 1st time magnet fishing Sunday if no rain or snow, I'm excited and hope I don't ruin anything good by cleaning with wrong cleaner. I love the fact you found Case and Zippo. I work at Case Cutlery.
Beautiful! I'm jealous! Used to play with my gramp's cast iron circus wagon train. Some of the houses were a lot like that.
What a beauty
Such a wonderful restoration job!! please post more restorations
One of your better restorations. What amazing details!!
Very cool to see all that stuff come off and the details revealed after ... That is a nice collectable piece .
Thanks .
Vinegar removes rust. Would be better than scraping with a screw driver to avoid scratches. Please do more of these videos, they are fantastic.
That was bad ass! The details coming out are spectacular!
Wow. Super cool!
Maybe get a small sandblaster and use walnut shells
Awesome! I hope you still have those other ornate pieces of metal, that one with the leaves and scrolling? More restorations! 🥰
Using a screwdriver like that risk scratching. You need a sandblasting enclosure.
Awesome how you cleaned that horse up. Good job. Love this site.
Very cool! Looks sooo much better! Awesome find, great work!
*_Awesome! Love your content and beautiful restoration as always 👍_*
It's a real shame it was only the rust holding it together but that can be fixed. Such fine detail revealed too. I really wonder how long it sat at the bottom of the river
Well Done Sir!
I LOVE THIS SO MUCH! I bet that horse will fetch a bunch of money too.
Really nice job cleaning it up. You need a good wire brush. Wasn't really restoration as much as just a litlle cleaning. Would love to see it cleaned properly and actually restored.
He's about 1/3 of the way there
You need to invest in a chipping hammer
Wow, I commend your diligence with this special piece.
Great job…can’t wait to see it when you’ve actually finished the project…
That rust is so thick it's like the end of Ghostbusters when they break out of the demon dog shells!
Beautiful!
Do the research. You live on an amazing planet. Every thing you pull up has a story..
One of your best restorations and my favourite so far. The detail is really noticeable. Will you seal it so it won't come apart. Wonder if if rust remover would get rid of the rest?
Wow so cool I did not know this was possible! 🤯
The pool ball’s magnetic cause that’s just the q ball and how it pulls it to side drop in a different drop point instead of going back into table or that’s how normally works on pool balls for a bar room or arcade outside that basic home tables most time doesn’t have the magnetism cause it’s not needed awesome channel and enjoy the videos
a small needle scaler might help.
Don't use screwdriver honey just the electrolysis should do it or soak in vinegar first. Great job. 🌹
Super cool find, well done resto.😊
Amazing! You should invest in an abrasive cleaning unit. You can get a lot of the rust and pitting out with on. Could even clean up some of your finds and sell them for cash more then scrap
I have to admit I caught myself working with you a few times. So yeah I'm laughing at myself now. I'm was flinching every time you screwdriver popped off. I also have to say I missed your commentary. Till next time, God bless
Great
What a cool looking horse well done Tyler that didn’t take much to clean for it to look that good it’s better than what I thought👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼🍺🙂
Its beautiful
Beautiful
Awesomeness
Awesome job thanks
I'll bet there was another piece to it, maybe carriage or cart. Detail of the harness was nice! Great find!
Love it!!
That turned out pretty good, considering how rusted it was. You need to check in on some antique shops or maybe a road show on some of your stuff just to see what the value really is. Great work.
Great job ! She’s beautiful. Maybe a dab of JB weld so it’s in one piece again and will display nicely .
That is cool
That's pretty cool 😎😎😎
That is amazing!! My dad won me a stallion made ot of some kind of metal at a fair when I was about six. I'm 59 now. We were shooting the water out of guns into clowns mouths. I would not leave that game without that horse. You had to work your way up starting with a crappy plastic one up to the metal one. By the time he finally won my horse, it must have cost hundreds, lol. That's what that horse of yours reminded me of.
The horse turned out Amazing 🤩. Love the video❤
Gorgeous!!
Nice work with the horse it looks better than before 👍💯🐎
My guess now that you have it cleaned up a bit that the horse was probably from a mechanical bank from the early 1900's there would have been a carage or wagon, then the horse would have gone up and down when you put coins in the slot
Or an old Stanley toy horse that pulls an ice box or a buggy.
