Great idea! My MIL fell and broke a vertebra, we are picking her up from the physical therapy rehab Thursday. We are in Vermont and she’s in Massachusetts, so I am making freezer meals and we plan to run down there every week for a couple of days. These will be great for her to have a few on hand, all she’ll need to do is boil water and she can have a varied, healthy and tasty breakfast! Your timing was perfect, as always!❤️🇺🇸
We have been making in instant oatmeal in a jar for our Airbnb guests for years. I put them out by the Keurig coffee maker and guests can choose which flavor they want (I do apple cinnamon, strawberry and cranberry flavors. You can make it with the smallest Keurig setting - no coffee pod, so just hot water comes out. Stir it up, let sit for a minute or so and enjoy! Our guests love it!
These would be great for backpacking/camping too! Not in jars for backpacking, but maybe stored in a ziploc and then pour into a cup/bowl when it comes time to add water. Yum!
This comment pertains to your Chicken Broccoli recipe from 7 days ago. I made it yesterday and it was a big hit with my Wife and I. In fact she said I should make it for company that will be here this week. We finished the whole casserole in 24 hours. Yummy! Thanks for the recipe.
I so something similar. I use old fashioned oats and food processor pulse some to almost powder and some a bit fine to be small like instant oats. I fill a reused nut container with all the oats. Then we have containers of dehydrated apples, pears, bananas, pineapple, and also brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and extracts ready to mix and match to however one wants.
I use both types of oats for mine. I just add water when I get to work and microwave 3 minutes or so. Turns out great every time no matter what ingredients I use.
If you don't have the dehydrated fruit....1 cup dry oatmeal ...2/3 cup milk....mix and refrigerate overnight...then smush in 2 ripe bananas and fry as patties. 😊. Don't know if canned fruit would work, but if you adjust for the liquid I'm sure they would. I'm going to try pears..🤔
@@sjr7822 I tried it with canned pears this morning...delicious.. I also tossed in a scoop of the protein powder I haven't been able to drink as it's so gritty. All came out really good ❤️
You could buy the freeze dried fruits in a bag at dollar general for $1.00 and $1.25 now at dollar tree than use them for making the oatmeal in a jar idea if you didn't have a big can of the freeze dried fruits or use dehydrated fruit pieces also you could do,or dried cranberries and small pieces of nuts together and cinnamon and nutmeg.l was thinking of people if your only one person or two and if you didn't have a lot of extra money to buy the big cans of freeze dried fruits,it would be another option to be able to do it.
I love this!!! I would never of thought of this!! I have tons of the instant variety oats, stocked up, but I like this idea better. Lol! This is definitely a 2 thumbs 👍 up!!
What a great idea for quick oatmeal that is hot and doesn't take a long time. The overnight oats in the fridge are good, but you still have to heat them up if you don't want cold oatmeal. We have only rolled oats, but I'm sure a little pulsing in the Nutribullet or Vitamix would make it finer for instant oats. We have Thrive berries also that I think would be great in these and provide the antioxidants we need. Nuts are very healthy too, especially the walnuts with more omega 3. We use only the Ceylon cinnamon now and not the cassia cinnamon due to the health benefits. These are so versatile and can be done up ahead so I think we would eat oatmeal more often. Thank you for sharing this and especially for using some Thrive products in some of your recipes!! 💕😀
Wonderful! Needed a box to mail out a gift. It had freeze-dried bananas, raspberries, blueberries, and another berry I can't remember. I realize freeze-dried foods are supposed to last a long time, but I really need to start using it with the way prices have gone up. Thank you for the freeze-dried meal ideas you've put out. Love them.❤
I make me overnight oats for the work week. Oats, unsweetened almond milk, unsweetened Greek yogurt, 1 T almond butter, fruit choice, 1 T chia seeds and sometimes a drizzle of honey
I recently bought a handful of chocolate bars for the delivery people, I'll keep one for myself to try this technique. I have the oatmeal and PB and I can add pieces of the chocolate bar. Like oatmeal, which I have boxes of! Like this idea. Looking forward to tomorrow morning's breakfast!
Oats and peanut butter is magic. Still my favorite after 30 years. I use the PB Fit powder in lieu of traditional PB just because it’s healthier and it lasts longer in storage. Thank you for the videos!
Great flavor combinations. I like making overnight oats using steel cut oats. I add chopped apple, walnuts or pecans, Craisins, cinnamon and a little monk fruit. Then I add enough milk or half and half to fill the top of the half pint jar. Store in the refrigerator. I usually only make 3 at a time and that is enough to last me a week since I don't eat breakfast, but use it as a snack.
Hi, this is such a good idea. I have been making different kinds of overnight oats and keeping them in the refrigerator for breakfast. Very filling and healthy too. Thanks for sharing your recipes. Hugs, Dolores 🥰
I eat these all the time! I love oatmeal and mango bits, also blueberries and cream. I can take them on the go (most fast food restaurants will give you a cup of hot water free) and put them in my suitcase when I go visit my kids for my breakfast!
Excellent advice using freeze dried foods:). We’re loving the peanut butter banana oats We also like pre making breakfast in jars using egg powder, freeze dried veggies and meats. I’m wondering if we can vacuum seal these for longer storage times?
Thinking to do a keto version with chia seeds, hemo hearts, sunflower seeds and pumpkin seeds, maybe a little oat bran too, with some swerve brown and low carb fruits like strawberry and blueberry cant wait to try it 😋
Hi hi. What the New Year, had brought you? I hope great things. I am always happy to look at your videos and follow your suggestions, advice and thoughts on everything. So far so good. May I mention before I forget I love this video as well. Some hours ago Turkey had an earthquake 😳 that rated 7.8 and got hit again with a 7.6. This scary, seeing all those people 😳 running, well what I really want to ask if you can do a video on earthquake preparedness. I would love to hear your advice please, thank you Stay safe
It’ll be super great during a power outage. They wouldn’t be super quick, but let them soak in room, temperature milk for a little bit and they’ll still be sweet and very good.
Im sure these can be made shelf stable right? Maybe leave the sugar out, since all ingredients are stable or freeze dried. I would also want to make several servings in a jar..... this is great ideas and delicious flavors! Thanks
Just bumped into this video and such a good idea. I was wondering for a longer shelf life if you could put an oxygen absorber in there to make it last longer.
Perfect timing for video. I will be having a total Shoulder replacement next month. I was thinking how I could do quick meals with no one to assist me. I can make ahead of time, have my son loses the jar lids and I can finish the rest.
If you freeze them first, or they are already frozen, they can go straight into the dehydrator. The ice crystals formed inside the berries pierce the skin during the dehydration process. It really works, I do it all the time.
Flavor wise, can you skip the powdered milk and make it with hot "milk" instead? We have dairy allergies which is why I'm wondering before investing in soy milk powder.
I just have to add something here regarding soy milk. Soy is not really that good for us as I read recently in a health article. I have to agree as I used to consume a bit of the stuff and ended up with the most horrible reaction. Worse than the dairy reactions. I then read that once you have a reaction to soy you cannot eat the stuff again. I cannot even use soy sauces etc. there are lots of fruit juices you could use, protein drink ( what I use for milk). Just had to say this. Tc.
Can I take old fashioned oats and grind them up and two smaller pieces and use that and fix up a jar and dry fruit from the store and vacuum seal them to last longer without the nuts of course and then later blessed day still trying to find instant powdered milk I have found non-fat milk served that was not very good I don't know which one to buy any advice blessed day😊
Those all look Yumz.🍎🍑👍😋 If you can find it in your Supermarket World food isle, try a Tablespoon of Coconut Milk Powder. Mmm.🥥 TFS HC, take care & keep really busy everyone. ❤🙂🐶

I do a pumpkin spice blend that is really nice on a cold morning.

Adding some dehydrated/powdered pumpkin would fit really nice with the spice
Strawberries and cream will be the first one I make, after I get more strawberries lol.
A creative breakfast tailored to the individual! You can't beat that!
I love this idea, tip! Sometimes I wonder why I didn’t think about this..🤣🤣🤣
I use regular oats and find it only needs a min with hot water. I also eat it unheated in the FL summer. I love oatmeal.

Instant oats can be made by blending or grinding old fashioned rolled oats into smaller pieces. Thank you for sharing this.
Is this true?
@@grlnexdoorableyes. Oatmeal is just cut differently but it’s all the same thing. The thicker the cut the longer it takes to bake etc.

Excellent advice using freeze dried foods:). We’re loving the peanut butter banana oats

I’m wondering if we can vacuum seal these for longer storage times?
Yes, vacuum sealing would extend the shelf life.
Remember the nuts have oil in them so maybe add them when u use them
@@PeggySue-RL Yes oil in nuts can get rancid so we opted for nut powder to extend shelf life 😊

Great minds think alike. I'm going to vacuum seal a half a dozen of them right now. I can leave them down at my cottage.

If you open a jar of the mix and pour it into a bowl and add hot water covering it with a saucer, you won't have to wash the jar and can refill it.
To save on my jars I'm using a Rubbermaid container.yes ma'am
Great idea! You can put the jar in a sock if it is too hot.

Those are the pantry cans, it's about a 1/3 of the #10 can size.

Do blueberries dehydrate well.? I got some on sale and would like to dehydrate them for pancakes or muffins.
