@thetechnoexpert very similar offer to the 550D and 600D, video quality is slightly more natural, love the controls. Build quality about the same. Hard choice. I like the Nikon lens line-up a bit more, which would sway my decision.
@UrDadIsBent88 I would get this one as it at least attempts continual autofocus during video. I would still primarily consider a DSLR for photos first and video as a secondary function for sure.
@adamsbil1 The Canon 60D is more comparable to the features of the Nikon D7000 (though the D7000 does not have an articulated screen). The 60D is better specced than the Nikon D5100 for photography, though video is more or less the same.
@davomrmac Great! I might end up getting this one because of your review and also you are right. The auto focus may help me a lot! Thanks.. Keep up the good videos :D
will you use this camera to film your reviews from now on? :D if not, can you make a review with it to see how it performs in comparison with your current camera? :)
Great video thanks. Just two questions can the battery be charged while in the camera or has it got to be removed to be charged ? And 2nd how long do the battery charge last while using live mode. Cheers
I know you reviewed the t2i and you get a sense of the t3i because they are very similar. I was wondering which one is better for both video and photography since I am on a medium budget for a dslr
Hi, I am confused if what should I choose between Nikon D5100 and Canon 1000 or 1100D. I am planning to buy my first DSLR. I've been using a point and shoot and my Nokia N8 for a year and they both take good pictures. My friends said I took very good pictures, so I want to upgrade my gear. I am in love with D5100. I am more into Macro photography. If I choose Nikon D5100, what lens can you suggest for Macro photography? Please help. Thanks.
I got mine 19 months ago for $250 on clearance. It came with the 18-55 & 55-200mm lenses. It's the first ever DSLR I've bought. So far I love it a lot.
im planning to buty this one,but decided to go with 18-200mm tamron non VR lens..i have a weeding function coming up..so will have to take lots of close up photosof friends and family..so will the non vr lens ruin my plans?
Along with this Camera body, What type of lens you suggest for a beginner and use for Home functions to buy.. The shoppers and friends are confusing me .Please advice.
@TechnomTigerGeek The t2i has 18 mpx while the D5100 has lower, the picture resolution is also higher on the t2i. For video the t2i crushes the D5100 :)
@MrTmd747 Yes, I will be publishing the Q&A on DailyTechTV tomorrow recorded with this and the built in mic. This will be followed by more samples.

@joethetechiewiipsp I used the Panasonic SD700, will be using the Nikon D5100 to record next Tuesday's Q&A on DailyTechTV.
@nazhif1 Totally agree, awesome build quality and great optically too.
@emkwan Thanks for watching & commenting.
@linweisean It arrived on my birthday, it is for production & I deserved a day off… or so I was told by 500+ tweeters ;) lol. Thanks for commenting.
@masakarasunokaasu Thank you for watching.
@Smalskin Although having said that, I think there may be some customisation.
@UrDadIsBent88 I would get this one as it at least attempts continual autofocus during video. I would still primarily consider a DSLR for photos first and video as a secondary function for sure.
@Smalskin No that is determined by the mode you are in.
@julianh100 Yes it does a 3.5mm input.
@joethetechiewiipsp No not at the moment, using my Audio Technica AT2020USB.
@DeSmurfen125 You can have a non VR lens for sure. They are often cheaper.
@jakrushman none at the moment, but thanks for asking.
@Theworldoftechuk Thanks for watching.
@J273 Yes it does, auto and continual.

@linweisean No unboxing this time.

Just bought one. can't wait to get it.
Good job. Whats it like compared to D3100?
Just a question, Do you have any old (but decent) cameras you don't use any more that you would be willing to sell?
If given the choice, ignoring the price, would you get this camera or the Canon 60D for both stills and video? Thanks in advance :)

@amitpatels007
Go be a fanboy somewhere else. Nikon makes excellent DSLR's.
Maybe if your hands aren't that sturdy!
Canon is T3i is better.
No those people probably dont know much about cameras
you got ripped off mate
Copy of Canon 550D. No one can compare with Canon.
