As a Chicano from Cali that loves JDM, I'm glad they like our cars styles too.
its crazy how drifting went out west and lowriding went to Japan
Would like try slap some hydraulic on pick up truck
For real, everyone out here be in Hondas 😂😂
@@chiphandit’s already been done check out bed dancing minitrucks
@@JOEDIRTERULEZdrifting barely went west thought. Unfortunately takeovers went our way more than anything and we all know that it means idiots thinking they CAN drift 🤷♂️
If you want to see this when you go to Japan, the low riders comes out to Shibuya every first Saturday of the month.
Thanks for the tip!
its crazy how drifting went out west and lowriding went to Japan
@@JOEDIRTERULEZ
I get your point, but drifting is far from gone in Japan. Especially when you know where to look, stuff you won't really see on American videos too much.
Do you know where exactly in shibuya?? I will be visiting Japan in October
@@thatswrek Just north of the Shibuya crossing there is a mall called MODI and that's the location closest to the station where they will drive pass. But most of the video when they got kicked out happened along the road cutting through Yoyogi park north of Shibuya, which is around a 20 mins walk from Shibuya station.
As someone who’s a fan of lowriders it’s so cool to see there’s a Chicano and lowrider subculture in Japan, I hope one day I can go to Japan and see how they customize there lowriders
Oh yea, they’ve had a huge Lowrider culture in Japan since the 80’s early 90’s but not many know about it. HotRodding as well
@@G_Ozare cuz they're just busy in touge
@@G_Ozare seeing that now in Japan make it good not with anime on the side of those cars keep the lowrider as is America style how they bring it
I’m in Japan as a American from Texas it’s bad ass there car culture here i especially love the low riders
Not sub. It is the culture
I'm from Los Angeles too and it's crazy to see this outside of Cali. But they are always respectful and tasteful with their car scene, it's just freaking awesome dude! Loved seeing all of you guys geeking out over it haha
its crazy how drifting went out west and lowriding went to Japan
Lowrider culture fits so well in Japan, I love it
As a Chicano born in East Los in the 80s, and building an EG in the early days of JDM off parts on Yahoo auctions and such. I always knew and heard about this, and I'm finally going to Japan this week. I really hope I run into these guys in Tokyo or Osaka. Would be cool to see all this shit in person, and trip out and appreciate their builds as they have ours out here. Salute & Saludos Larry & Team. 🫡👊🏽🙌🏽
Have a Awesome trip man be a whole new world over there compared to East L.A✌️#JDMLIFE
Shibuya 1st Saturday of every month.
@Shane Fraser thanks man. Looking forward to it! 👊🏽
@MtAkina's Ghost damn! Looks like I missed it, but there's always next time. 😆
I'm still gonna keep an eye out for them everyday. 👀
its crazy how drifting went out west and lowriding went to Japan
Thank you Larry
Right, he's so well mannered guy....you can't tell.....
Those invisible speed-bumps are crazy over there!
My tio sold one of his low lows to some guy in Japan for over +$100K. Even flew out to Cali to come drive it and hit switches before dropping it over at the San Pedro port.
I love my culture 🇺🇸🇲🇽
You can’t call yourself a car guy and not be stoked about this. As a little kid, lowriders was how I saw cars as slammed as possible and some of the nicest paint jobs and attention to detail ever. Japan has had an incredible Lowrider culture for probably as long as the US. ❤
Larry,
Thank you so so much for finally getting some coverage of this amazing culture and scene that Japan has to offer! As a car builder. Lowrider builder I have been following this for so long and have gained so much inspiration from this particular part of the world. Huge fan of everything you've done and covered! Thank you so much for this! I can really see how much in awe you are and how genuinely you're appreciating the builds and seeing s15s and gtrs in the mix while seeing lowriders hop is just perfect in my world!
Thank you Larry, when you asked on IG what we thought you should cover when going to Japan this is EXACTLY what I asked for, in spades. Bravo
The 60s/70s outlaw chopper culture out of Japan is insane as well, would love to see you checking it out one day ! 💪🏻
Bosozoku you mean bike gang
@@olavofernandes7286 no, although Boso is amazing. There is an incredible culture of vintage American Harleys from the 60s and 70s they chop just like the original Outlaw clubs did in FULL period correct parts etc. it’s very difficult to get old Harley stuff out there and they go soooo hard and respect the traditions of it all. I just love the way they embrace it.
@@graffaficionado Japan's harley game is no joke at all too, same goes to their classic style rod too
I plated the frames and did a bunch of fabrication for a couple Impala's on hydro that ended up getting shipped to Japan back in 02-03.
I think we bought every piece of chrome PAW had for a small block at the time. 😂
Would be one of my dreams to visit Japan and see the lowrider culture as well. Mad respect to those that keep the culture going. 💯 doesn't matter where you're from, I love seeing everyone come together to see this nice rides cruising 💯. Shout out to everyone, respect from Houston, Texas 🤘
I was lucky to witness this scene when i visited japan a few years ago. I remember a few of the lowlows in this video.
The land of the rising sun……no words they(Japan)have everything
gotta love the japanese and their loveeee for every aspect of car culture of all kinds, much respect, cant wait to go one day and see the magic up close
Larry Nerding out over lowriders , is the greatest thing. You need a Lowrider!!
yo this was amazing, please do a full piece on this group! 🙌🙏
Thank you Larry!!
Love your work.
Japanese car culture is so awesome. I know this. But I did not expect that they went this hard with the lowrider culture too. Too cool!
Used to drive by this one place called “hydro shop” in Okinawa all the time. Looked like an oldschool dealership with giant glass windows and a show room floor with a Monte Carlo and an Impala.
Brings back Memories, post High School, going to Chula Vista one week, then riding up to East LA the next week just to check out the Low Riders cruising.
Wild so many impalas. Makes me happy to have our 62 impala. One day will be their bags, though. Such an iconic car.
Love your excitement for the scene
Mike you know larry gotchu wit some fire footage
How cool our Chicano roots in Japan how cool
Thank you, Larry. 🥹
Amazing car culture and that's why we all need to team up and send the RPM Act to save racing and car culture
Thought it was already sent?!
That was awesome hope to see some more lowriders on your videos some of these cars they do have a lot of detail work
The noise the car makes while jumping that sounds like gun shots really adds to the chicago realism
......aaaaaaand ANOTHER Brilliant on the street view of the car people from LC and his Crew :) Cheers
I'll never forget the 1st time seeing mad mike back in early 2000s at a burnout comp in NZ
in a sick mazda 808 wagon sith plates :fursty ,standing out of the car one foot on the gas billowing smoke total LEGEND!!
the man has come along way since then drifting worldwide, red bull sponsor and being a super positive role model for the next generation
tip my hat to this man100%
thanx Larry love your content dude!
Amazing
All of those low riders look so good, didn't see one that was not just flawless or still in being built mode, absolutely sick!
Amazing ❤
I just got back from japan and i already wanna go back. The car culture alone is on point
Just came back from Chicano Park Day in San Diego and this is awesome .
Sick video Larry!
Great video!
Hahaha I like how mad Mike was just standing there casual as can be😂 big ups Larry cheers from kiwiland🇳🇿🇳🇿🇳🇿
I love seeing car scene like this, no matter where you go the culture is there you just have to find it
Good to see this covered, yes i've been noticing more than a few "mint/Dr. Dre video grade" LR's showing up in videos of car meets coming out of Japan. obviously it's a mutual appreciation of cultures that are UNLIKE one's own culture, you know, where we in the States consume JDM (ie. GTR's, S15's, Subies, Honda K motors, Mazda Rotaries, etc) the Japanese "return the favor" and consume ADM (ie. Chevys, Cadillacs, Ford/Lincoln, V8's, etc). they've got legit S197 Mustang owners over there...!!! 😎
Dope Larry!!
Love how car culture can be around the world.
I love it!
Man I can’t wait to go to Japan and check them out they do it on a whole level 🔥🔥
Hope you can do ITASHA culture to. As always, great video!
Challenged accepted. Going to Japan to see it.
This is Amazing. I'm a Chicano who's owned JDM cars (Supra, Evo, etc) and have also owned 63 Impalas and low riders.
Envy ,such cool cultures happening at Japan,
More of this content!!
I knew that there was a Low Rider culture in Tokyo, but those cats showed out. Saw some pretty slick rides too.
definitely cool to see. you hear about it over there, but don't see it to this extent.... usually just a few photos here and there
I love your reactions. Like you've never seen a Lowrider before lol
There's a legendary guy out there with 71 Buick Riviera.. Hoping to see him drive past
It reminds me of the little homies toys you could get out of a quarter machine or at kb toy store 😂
this is how Cruising Night's used to be here in East LA back from the middle 1970's back. on Friday & Sunday nights.
That’s a cool license plate frame! I’m from the 805!
would love to see mini truck stuff!
Kyushu has a lowrider culture that amazed me as a Chicano from the Southwest.
Crazy car scene.
Each time I see one of these driving down the street the song by Eazy-E titled "Real muthaphuckkin G's" pops into my head. A song from my youth.
was cool to see Mike in your video and is so right NZ is a melting pot of all the different car cultures but we have a huge American influence with the cars too from low riders and mini trucks through to hot rods and pro touring style
Siiiick
its crazy how drifting went out west and lowriding went to Japan
Would be cool if you'd cover lowrider builds and culture in the United States as well.
He has. He's just in Japan at the moment and shedding light on seeing similar culture far away from L.A., but Larry and Hoonigan have shown plenty of lowriders.
@@MultiTravellingman weird I just did a search and haven't found a single video by Larry Chen on LA lowrider culture. The closest was one video in the burnyard of someone hopping their car.
So by plenty, you mean there is a single video from several years ago?
Would be nice if Larry did some videos on lowrider culture rather than stuff inspired by it.
Please record some more lowrider's 👍
Love and respect to all the asian chicanos of the world👍😎.
From LA.
Mesmerizing tune at 21:00 is that a song or just loop? Cheers.
Shout outs to Mad Mike! ❤From Chch NZ
Larry, you job is to make the picture do its justice sir
The sounds Larry was makin are comedy
Pretty awesome vid with sound off too!
Try it with like some lofi hip hop or even like dubstep
There's similar chicano scenes in other Asian countries, and I am all for it.
how you not know??? XD anyways every first saturday night of the month if i recall correctly they do this + holidays like Halloween are huge!
We have a great car scene here on Okinawa to include lowriders.
Classic.
Larry doing his best "Blair Witch" @4:54
To hit the switches perfectly to get that bounce aint easy
8:08 Wait (I'm new here, he looks familiar.) Was he in that "Keep Drifting Fun" movie?
We're on the verge of mini-trucks becoming popular again...can't wait
Lowkey Ludwig getting his stolen and returned has sparked a serious grab on them. Definitely would love to see it
I miss the Noriyaro Shibuya streams
Real true lowrider fanatic because can you imagine what it took to get one of those beautiful classic cars over there. You got to love lowriding to spend that kind of money
It’s kinda eerie how quiet it usually is.
That's one bad ass caddy blue... jalito
Chevys in Tokyo wow 😮
I've seen it all now
It's ok alot of us like your vtech Hondas
Now they will make it better.
I have alot of respect for Japan. They save beautiful machines from terrible ideas and the scrapyard in america. And live full beautiful lives as they should.
HWAT IS GOIN ON ?!?!?! - Larry
It's just another Tuesday here in Shibuya, Japan... 🗾
It's neat to see G-bodies anywhere other than the West Coast of America.
Its not a sub, it is the culture 😤 😎
❤Lowriders live on
😁epic
These Japanese are very respectful. They always make sure to thank the Mexicans and even understand that there was time when Mexicans faced hard times when their culture of low riders were emerging🙏
11:53 bruh, Truck-kun spared them 😮
