Seeing all the pictures of Ken with Lia hits different, you can see the love he had for his family and Lia is killing it carrying on his automotive legacy. Rip to the king
Larry, from the bottom of all our hearts. Thank you so so much for the opportunity to make it feel like we all got to know Ken like a friend from wherever we are. From all of us to you, Cheers to a good man.
Larry second time I've watched your tribute to Ken. Made me cry again, damn it. I wish I could sit and look at the thousands of photos you've taken of Ken and the Hoonigan crew. You've caught the most iconic pictures of Ken. You truly are a master behind a camera. Thank you. Larry, if we ever lock down again, you will have to bring your car and hide out with us in the country. You can still get out and drive here. Larry will you ever do a show and hit all 50 states. Do photos of Ken as the headliner but I'd love to see other pictures.
Ken Block was a true example of the American Dream. Doing what you enjoy, exploring, pushing the limits, and inspiring the next generations to look even higher! #KB43ver
Thank You Larry Chen for this heartfelt "tribute" to Ken Block. We lost a great man who happened to also be someone who came across as being extremely likeable and in general just a really nice down to earth guy. Im sure you are partially responsible for that image that I and so many people across the world have of Ken Block 43! Very cool story RIP KEN BLOCK 43! You made some smoky burnouts that will never be forgotten or re=produced, The chained up mustang in the garage in LA is the one for me....
I started getting into cars about a year ago and was intruded to Ken about 8 months ago. Loved the videos he had. Made me so inspired to go turn a wrench. I really loved the WRC volg series and I was so excited for the next season and for Ken to get first overall this time. It was only a few weeks later that the accident happened. I woke up that day in January and once I found out my heart dropped. We miss you Ken, so much. You were such an amazing creator, man, and father. You will forever be in our hearts, you mad man. Let’s swing it when I meet you up there man. #LLKB
Larry, I think Ken's story and the blessings he gave us all are far from behind us. You my friend get to carry his thoughts and ideas with you in everything you do in a way that none of us can. That alone is enough to drive a man's passion and inspire him for a lifetime. In a strange way you have always been the Block family photographer, from all the time you have spent with them. So moving forward you get to show the man that he is through the legacy he left us with, his family. How Lucy and Ken influenced their kids and how they grow through the years. I can see both Lucy and Lia becoming skilled drivers and Lia from what I have seen of her is a fantastic young lady with an awesome attitude towards life. Even if you only do it because Ken would want you to and only publish the photos to his family, it is something you can look back on in many years and feel good about knowing that you helped an old friend.
Just gunna say Larry that video and showing the history between Ken and yourself is awesome. You are an inspirtation to many photographers in the motorsport industry and you work is the reason why Ive taking photos of cars for the last 2 years
Ken was one of the last true gentleman and massive advocate for anything that he was involved with, or loved knowing or being part of. One of a kind human....
Sincerely True Love ☝️ for the HHIC.✊ KB43VER As much as it was hard to make this video, you must feel much better now. I know I do with each and every vid y'all put out. Keep it coming PLEASE 🙏. R.I.P.KB43
The way you told the story of you and Ken is just the best, the photos, the cars the entire story, this is honestly the best tribute video of Ken I've seen since his passing... KB43VER
You have memorialized Ken in a way few have ever memorialized another figure. Dead serious, goof ball, unreal talent, family man, friend, you captured it all. All gifts.
I love that quote tbh... the world needs to hear it. what an amazing driver and how lucky you are Larry to be able to have been able to help project an amazing person to the media. RIP43
Ken is a legend, legends never die. He might not be here physically but he will never be gone. Anyone who's enjoy cars will always respect him and remember him. "Do it for Dale" when you need to make the pass in the grass. "Slide it for Ken" when the corners are tight
Ken was always about the shot, you can tell by the commitment on doing the famous Pikes Peak picture when Scotto was telling him to get closer to the edge. Thanks Larry.
What an amazing opportunity to photograph a Legend. Let alone become close with him. We all miss him, but not as much as those closest. Thank you for sharing your memories with Ken. That very last line from Ken, is my favorite; Don't be an asshole. Subscribed, and looking forward to more of your incredible work Larry.
There will never be another Ken Block but I was glad to be alive to witness everything he has done with Hoonigan and The Gymkhana videos. Rest Well Mr.Hoonigan
Ken will live on forever through the videos and pictures you guys captured. The Hoonigan passion for art & storytelling through media transcends through the afterlife.
Thank you for this Larry. It truly shows how much appreciation and love you had for Ken. This video was honestly something I was waiting for. For all of us that “grew up” with the Gymkhana videos and watching Ken slide cars around, would you ever consider doing something like a coffee table book of some of the different photos you have taken of Ken over the years, including some of those that show how much of a family man he was? That photo of him holding a young Lia at a rally race was so beautiful
Mr Block was a man like no other he inspired so many of us, gave all of us an example of what to do and expand it, and have fun make it yours. Ken will always be my hero and so many others, a true legendary hero for our generation and many to come.
It’s still surreal to know that this icon is no longer with us. Thanks Larry. I could have watched another hour of this. A book of Ken photos would be awesome. Thanks again 🙏🤙
Apart from Colin McRae nobody outside of my family as made me feel that down at that time. I followed Ken from the moment he became known, i loved this guy as a person, motorsport guru, extreme sportstar. He will always be missed and i still think of him from time to time since his pass. As a big fan my heart goes out to his family always, they do great work and respect to you guys for keeping his legacy alive.
I've been holding off watching this video for some time, as I knew how emotional it would be. Of all the "famous" people including great musicians that have passed away recently, the sudden loss of Ken, still gets me. Thank you Larry, for your insights, compassion and your special perspective of Ken. Love your work!
Absolutely hands down one of the best and most genuine videos I've watched about the hero Ken Block! Thank you so much Larry for opening up and sharing with us!!! He was an amazing man and truly a legend, but so are you Larry!!!
Larry, this was awesome. I'm a Canon shooter, always admired your work and the fact that you got to me embedded with that crew. I appreciate you sharing how you got connected with them and how Ken helped. That dude had such a tremendous impact with everyone he touched. Super inspiring!
Thank you Larry for all the work you have done for Ken and the car community! The pictures you have created will continue to honor the most outstanding individual we have all recognized as a legend.
Larry, the stills you used in the film.... just amazing. I discovered you from Speedhunters back around late 2008. Many of your shots are forever stamped into my memory. It was an honor to hear your take on these awesome events. Rest in Peace, Ken Block. You were the realest to ever do it, sir.🫡
Larry you are such a legend. Without you and your talent we probably wouldn't have these moments or these videos. You are appreciated. Because of you the legend will live forever.
I met Ken twice at the Oregon Trail Rally, what amazes me about him is how many millions of peoples lives he touched and interacted with. The car scene in the PNW is pretty small, yet when he passed it seemed like every person I knew in the car community had a story about him or meeting him. I know your relationship was much closer than mine and Ken was fundamental in your career Larry, but losing him was like losing a Dale Earnhardt or Ayrton Senna of my generation, his impact on car culture especially for millennials is immeasurable.
The story about him commenting on the story and photos at Irwindale alone made me tears up a little. We lost an icon. And you said it perfectly. He was the perfect ambassador for cars. We have a huge hole to fill. We miss you Ken. I hope you see all the love down here for you 🖤
Man,Im a fan of Ken since Gym1,and its though for me,even though, never met him, never had any merch or whatever, but he is and always be an influence in my life, thanks KB43 forever🙏
All Hail The HHIC! Because of you, Larry, and those like you, KEN BLOCK WILL NEVER DIE! Ken made us laugh today, he taught us something yesterday, and he will inspire us yet again tomorrow. Thank you for this Larry. Undoubtedly one of the most beautiful things you will ever commit to film. Honestly, I can say the loss of Ken has affected myself and many others far more than expected, so I cannot imagine the complexity of what yourself and the other Hoonigans are going through. Ken is with us all in our hearts, our minds, and most of all, in what we dare to dream. Thank you Larry, for sharing so much of not only Ken, but yourself, with so many who will cherish this. Thank you Ken, for being an open book, a GENIUNE and INCREDIBLE ROLE MODEL, an inspiration to any who dare to dream big, and American car culture's greatest ambassador. This is not Goodbye, HHIC, for the time you gave to Larry and his peers shall carry you onward, to entertain. thrill, and inspire, anywhere humanity may exist. -Godspeed, Ken Block, Until we all meet again!
I'm literally in tears and i thought i cried enough in the day of his passing. Ken is unique in many ways and definitely left his mark in Motorsports. He will forever be missed by everyone around the world. RIP Ken 🙏🙌
I know who you are because of Ken Block and the Hoonigan channel. To see you humble yourself and give thanks, giving credit where it's due, very inspiring. Your hardworking personality got you in front of Ken, Ken put you in front of the world.
I found a signed poster of him in the trash bin in the concrete factory I work at a couple years ago. I don’t know why or how but there it was. I still have it framed.
And what can I say Ken Block was so inspiring to so many others will always be missed Larry you got me into taking pictures and now I do it for a job great dedication to the man Larry you shot it out of the park on it✌️
Ken and your photography are some of the biggest reasons I got into automotive photography and the scene in the first place. It's a huge loss and he will be missed. Thanks brother
Lovely tribute. Your photos tell the story of a remarkable person and a remarkable life. Your narrative coveys how much he meant to you, but also all of us.
Ken’s looking down on you watching this Larry 🙏🏼🙏🏼 you was lucky enough to have such friendship and Ken was lucky to have the best photographer in the world 🙏🏼 rip Ken forever43
Had to admit that I still tear up every time I see his videos, he is a big inspiration to me and the person that I've become. Thanks ken for everything you've done for all of us. R.I.P my friend.
Big respect for you Larry! To give credit where credit is due. You’re a super talented photographer so that also helped get you to where you’re at. I’m sorry for your loss 🍻🤙🏻
Race In Paradise KB. Larry you’re an icon in your own right and so much of who I am as an automotive and photography enthusiast I owe to you and Ken. Thank you for sharing this with the world. Thank you so much for letting us all have a fraction of what you got to experience.
For so many of us, we just know Ken from the amazing car videos and Hoonigan, but to see the extent of which he was able to touch so many lives doesn’t even come close to show the character of who he was….a driver, a boss, a friend, someone to aspire to be like, but most importantly….a husband and a father. Thank you for sharing this with us, thank you for making it able to be apart of what he did through amazing photos and videos. Ken, you will be forever missed!!! #KB43VER
Larry, this was a absolutely amazing insight to the the parts you played in the capture of 43 and hoonigan. Just as a viewer the impact of ken and yourself has brought me so much joy over the years. I am excited for whats next for you and the block family pushung forward 💯. Spread the love, spread the fun, enjoy the laughs to come.
Larry, thanks for sharing this! I have very few idols in life and Ken was one of them! I was hoping to meet him one day but unfortunately work has always gotten in the way. To see these photos and hear these stories brings Ken up a notch! I’m sure his family appreciates you taking the time to put this together! Hopefully some day I’ll get to meet you and hear some of your stories of the things you’ve done along with hearing some more about Ken!…. I’ve built some crazy Audis in my day and was super happy to see Ken switch to racing for them! I also ride snowmobiles and will always be more careful due to kens mishap. He is bigger than Mario Andretti, Ayrton senna or anyone else. This video was needed and I wish that him flipping you off hot put into production. It meant everything you said it meant…. Just Ken having a good time! Thanks Larry!
Very well done Larry. The world is at such a loss without ken but its through all of these homages to him that the greater masses get to see the true person he really was. Thank you for this
Man, just as i was finally coming to terms with the loss of Ken you go and drop this. Ken is the reason im so into cars, gym 7 in particular is what did it. Your photos of Ken and everything he did just elevated my love for cars. I was 12 when gym 7 came out and everyone involved weather i knew it of not became part of my childhood, or late childhood i guess. Thank you and everyone who brought it all together for everything you have done
Thank you for sharing that, Larry, I'm sure it wasn't easy. I'm a 58 year old kid and I idolized Ken and his accomplishments. Any chance I could get, I would show my daughters who love photography, the pictures you have taken and especially the Ken shots. I'm a big car guy and old PC gamer, so Ken has always been a part of enjoying my passions. He was from another planet and I will think of him and miss him I fell forever, but will always end my thoughts of him with a smile.
Larry, thank you so much for this perspective...I know this was very hard for you being so close to Ken...please accept my condolences...your work is amazing and will continue to be a tribute to Ken.
Thank you for sharing these stories. Watching him for all these years through the lens of photographers like you was a joy. And while I am very much an amateur photographer, I love taking inspiration from the work you do.
Thank you Larry and the crew. 2min into it and I was in tears. I agree with you, I'm 42 and love cars & bikes and motorsports in general so I have my heros, but Ken was as you said THE greatest ambassador of our love and passion. Seemed generally a great guy. Feel you regret about Gym 5 and 6, but on 7 Mr. Block use probably on of THE greatest and maddest motor vehicles ever created. A car that couldn't be more "Merica", just awesome. RIP Ken Block
Thank you Larry…. Also: Fuck man - Scotto is tall. I mean I always knew he was tall but in every photo he’s just a giant. Thank you so much for sharing all of this ❤️ #kb43ever
Amazing tribute Larry!!!!! Beyond respectful and truly captured just how important Ken was to you personally along with the car community all the way around. He was clearly a once in a generation type of human being (and I'm not even referring to how unbelievably talented he was @ driving/racing) constantly putting his family and friends first. His absence will feel fresh and raw for a very long time!!! However, his memory and legend will live long after all that were lucky enough to witness him are gone thanks to yourself, Louis etc. All of the phenomenal documenting you did is absolutely epic and will live on forever!! Thank you again Larry for all of the awesome work you do in the car culture community and your precision and talent level is unmatched sir!!!
I truly get pretty emotional thinking about Ken’s block passing. My son is only two years old. I have love and passion for motorsports. One day I was getting ready and I decided to put one of the Gymkhana on and that’s all it took. I was overjoyed I was stoked out, and I saw the glow I saw the pure happiness in my sons face and his eyes while he’s watching Ken. From that day, when I have a bit of relaxing time with my son.I put on Ken Whether it was hoonigan or one of the Gymkhana videos . Just chill and watch one of the best drivers to ever sit behind a steering wheel . And when I heard about his passing, all I could I think about is my son and Ken’s kids. (😢 bit emotional) I was thinking about how do I explain this to my son that one of his heroes has passed. At this time I still play Ken like nothing has happen and watch the glow and excitement come from my son while watching Ken. I’ll eventually tell him, but it’s a very emotional time for me..RIP KEN YOU’LL BE MISSED AND LOVED THANK YOU FOR OPENING MY SON EYES TO MOTOR SPORTS.
I'm both sad and angry that he's gone. With the way he pushed the limits behind the wheel, it fools you into thinking he's superhuman. His passing actually reinforces just how fragile and impermanent life is and we should cherish every moment we have. I'm just thankful that people recognized his brilliance and chronicled his rise to stardom. His exploits have been legendary and deserve to be preserved for future enthusiasts to enjoy. RIP Ken Block 😥
Thank you for sharing the MAN, the MYTH, the LEGEND, THE BLOCK. I never got to meet him or see any of his live shows but I got to see what he's done through RUclips and he is the Ultimate. Now I just can't wait to see what Lia does in his place, if she decides to go on with his legacy which I hope she will, I see so much potential in her and her abilities that I know that if she continues she will go very far. I hope Lia and her family are doing well and will forever prosper. Ken the Legend will forever be missed.
I was fortunate enough to meet Ken at SOFR last year and was so happy to see him sign posters and hand them out. I took one of my favorite and best photos of him ripping through the track with inspiration from you Larry. Thank you both for your contributions in this awesome culture!
Through your work and the other creators I found Ken and found a deep appreciation for the different car cultures. I have a new passion thanks to you guys. Keep up your excellent work!
Your amazing Larry thanks for sharing this with all of us! It was truly amazing to see the memories that you had with Ken! Forever inspired by your photography!
This was by far the best and emotional tribute video I’ve seen yet, and my highest respect/condolences to you Larry. Because of your photogenic eye of Kens talent, you both have had a significant impact on my life when it’s comes to shooting photos of cars & life. Thank you 🥺☺️🙏🏽
I couldn't bring myself to watch this for almost a year. Part of my interest in automotive and motorsports culture comes from both Ken and Larry. I wasn't in a great place mentally a few years back but I started working on my own car, got more confidence in my abilities, and enjoyed it. You guys were an inspiration with your bold and fun productions. I drive for fun and freedom and not just when I have somewhere to be now, I learned how to have fun in life. I made new friends at car meets and reconnected with some old ones to wrench together. Larry also inspired me to pick up a decent camera and try my hand at photography and its been a blast. You guys always had a great dynamic and so many people enjoyed your work. Best wishes to Ken's family and I hope they have enough horsepower in heaven for him.
This is an incredible tribute to Ken. Even if this is still only but a small snapshot of what it was like to be around him, thank you for sharing this with all of us.
Man, this hit me right in the feels. Thank you for everything you do Larry. RIP to the HHIC.

Thank you Larry Chen for sharing this with us.....and thank you for letting me know that the man i call my Hero is the man i thought he was!!
Thank you for sharing this. We never truly get over losing someone. We simply adjust to who we are in their absence.
#KB43VER
As a huge fan just know I’m watching this with tears the whole time. Still some how smiling at some points
Your images showcases his talent on a level that can't be equaled...documenting his legacy the way it deserved to be....
Thanks Larry for sharing with us I am sure it was not easy to put together but know you are not alone in mourning loss of this ICON may he RIP.
Larry, you did a great job capturing Ken, much love brother!!!
Incredible, Larry! RIP HHIC. So much inspiration.
Larry, thank you so much for this perspective...I know this was very hard for you being so close to Ken...please accept my condolences...your work is amazing and will continue to be a tribute to Ken.
Never forgotten always remembered, love ya Ken family and friends, Can’t thank you enough for you to share
Thank you for sharing these stories. Watching him for all these years through the lens of photographers like you was a joy. And while I am very much an amateur photographer, I love taking inspiration from the work you do.
Been waiting for this one… pictures say what words can’t…
This was truly an amazing video and I’m so grateful that you shared this. 43 FOREVER. RIP Legend.
Thank you Larry for your stories. So much love and fun. It's wonderful to know we all live in a time we shared with Ken Block
such a great video Larry, thank you for the amazing story telling!
Beautiful tribute, my name is Joseph Robert Block Cade, so I always felt like Ken was kinfolk, long live Ken Block a tru legend 43
I had a hard time watching this, but I loved the inside look at Ken and the people with him.
Thank you Larry….
Also: Fuck man - Scotto is tall. I mean I always knew he was tall but in every photo he’s just a giant. Thank you so much for sharing all of this ❤️
#kb43ever
Truly a legend. Thank you for sharing your photos and stories with us Larry!
I can just imagine how emotional that must have been for you to make this video that you never wanted to do. Thanks for sharing this Larry 🙏🙏🙏
Ken made such an impact on so many people including myself, still absolutely gutted he is gone
What an amazing tribute! Every word from the heart and so amazing to learn more about the man behind the wheel, and you. Great story! Thank you.
Thank you 🥺☺️🙏🏽
Incredible Larry. You are yourself an icon in the automotive community and the perspective that you bring to Ken Blocks' life is amazing. Thank you. 💚
