Theresa, I was saying that just today. I have a house in Italy, and I believe my cousin may be using it when I'm not there. Now, I'm not an unreasonable guy. If my cousin asked if he could use it, I'd let him.I was telling somebody today that even if my friend told me to go ahead and go in his house, I'd STILL feel like I didn't belong there. Have you been in touch with him recently, Rob? I'd have to get it right from the horses mouth...and let him hear from MY mouth what I think of his actions. Think about having someone you trust go there and change the locks and put up "no trespassing" signs. Again I ask...Where do they get their nerve?
No, I haven't. I'm planning on going there in September to mark a somber occasion: The 40th anniversary of my father's passing. I want to go there and be at his grave site the day (and time if possible) of his death. I feel I need to fo it....to keep his memory alive. As to your question about where they get their nerve, I wish I had an answer for you, Theresa. Then again, if I did have an answer, then that would make me a thief.

I've had my home, garage, outbuildings, and RV, all set up for the same purpose for several years. The one time we did have an, "active burglar", I did not utilize the speaker feature. I immediately called the Police, told them that I was being burlarized, and asked them to respond without sirens, which they did. We also have, "lock boxes" on the front door, and inside the front gate, which give Police, Fire, and EMS access to our property. The Police were able to successfully enter our home, and arrested the burglar as he was filling his bags with our belongings. The point is, the burglars DO NOT deserve a warning, and they'll never get one from me. I am a former Police Officer, who has been forced into shoot-don't-shoot situations. This woman did the correct thing; it's not a matter of "Rights." The minute someone breaks into your home, they've made the conscious, premeditated decision to surrender his or her own rights, so whatever happens is entirely on them. I AM a legally armed citizen, and I WILL defend my family and property by whatever means necessary.

I really like the idea of setting up camera's to make sure we'll be safe but then I also get worried that someone else could be watching us thought the camera, its like a 50/50 chance..
Depends entirely on what type of locks are on windows. The cheap windows with one lock in the center are so easy to pop open it should be illegal to sell/manufacture them. You have to add sensors to them just to have some peace of mind while you sleep.
Make a safe room, let it be open and put all of the cool stuff in there. When someone enters that room, lock it automatically from anywhere and then have a chat with the burglar...
I have been robbed inside my home three different times. It is the worst feeling and I moved each time afterwards. I didn’t feel safe there anymore. One person I picked out his picture. They told me that he’d already been through the system three times.
Saw: hello Brian... for years you’ve been stealing to feed your drug habit... until now (exits and windows get steel walls slammed shut). Now your obsession will be tested! Let the games begin (saw music plays)
Wyze cameras are a game changer! Night color vision, motion detection, audio and speaker on the cameras, and you can turn on a siren, scaring the hell out of them! And if you want you can install and turn spotlights on as well! The new cameras as us Starlight sensors, so it like day light at night!
This homeowner is in a nearby restaurant, and instead of sending the cops over there while he kept an eye on the burglar ... he gives the burglar a free get out of jail card (with his belongings yet)! Then, the newsman gives him props for giving the burglar "a heads-up!" which allows the burglar be free to victimize his net homeowner! Who says crime doesn't pay???
Most people might already know this but if you don't make sure the pictures or video is being automatically uploaded to a off site server. So if they steal your computer and hard drive you might still be able to identify who stole your stuff because the video and photos aren't on the stolen computer.
My first thought when securing my house: Roller shutters on all external doors and windows. (Im amazed why people don't do this in the first place and - some, not all - rely on flimsy locks ???). Properties on either side of me have been broken into, but never in mine. In any case, if someone does get in, I have taken further security measures inside as well. Friends jokingly call my place Fort Knox.
Thought I was the only one thinking that. Ha. Like people stealing clothes or money bags on the way to deposit, they explode with ink, let em explode wile-e-coyote style.
The problem is, once charged they get ridiculously light sentences, or even probation. If I catch someone in my house, they'll find out much too late that I'm always armed, though the flash at the muzzle will clue them in.
Its total BS that the cops cant do anything unless theyre caught in the act. Cameras should be enough to put thieves under the jail. I cant imagine what trauma this lady went thru just havn to sit and watch her house being invaded I love technology, its came a very long way in a very short time.

I sleep with my front door wide open at night in the summer time. Never have I had to worry about this. And my home town even has a bad Heroin epidemic in it. But I guess mother fuckers know not to come messing around. It's just fear and common sense. I guess..!!
Not true...people dont have the right to take things without permission..tell me what gives you the right to steal my car, rob my house just because the door or window is wide open...nothing does
Tell the cops you think it's a drug deal... And you see a large amount of cash... The police will drop their donuts faster. The police will be quicker to try & confiscate that drug money :P
Exactly! In all my years in Law Enforcement, I caught TWO burglars in the act, two, in over twenty years. The point being, we didn't have this technology when I was still working. I worked ten years as an Investigator and worked hundreds of burglaries. I solved about 40% of them, which is a decent record in these rural Counties. My County is around 1300 square miles, and response times can be as high as 45 minutes to an hour AFTER the homeowner has discovered he/she had be broken into. We seldom have a witness, and the bad guy is usually long gone before help can arrive. So, use this new technology to your own benefit, and nail the bastards in the act! In my own experience, once the Defense Attorney learned about my video of his client, the scumbag plead guilty.
www.concealedcarry.com/self-defense-gun-owner-insurance-programs-compared/ The liberal prosecutors are mad as hell that they can't take away our guns, so they go HARD after law-abiding citizens to make an example out of them. Yes, and maybe. I live in New York, but I live in a Coservative County. I'm personal friends with the current D.A. and have been personal friends with the past three D.A.'s, which spans four decades. If you have a HOME INVADER, and you shoot him you can "probably" plead self-defense. Google, "NY Penal Law: S 35.20 Justification; use of physical force in defense of premises and in defense of a person in the course of burglary." It is important to note that, regardless of the circumstances, you WILL BE CHARGED with something. However, in Counties like my own, the D.A. typically declines to go to a Grand Jury, depending on the totality of those circumstances. For example, if you shoot a burglar in the back, and you cannot articulate a, "reasonable fear", you WILL be charged with 2nd Degree Murder. If you shoot him/her outside of your residence, and he or she isn't armed, you'll be charged. However, if you shoot him/her in the front AND you can articulate reasonable fear of life or limb for yourself or another, you won't be indicted...depending on what County you live in. Some Counties have exptremely Liber, anti-gun D.A.'s who would want to charge you for shooting a burglar REGARDLESS of the circumstances. After all, we all know that criminals are actually lovable, cheerfull, kind people, who are the victims of societies prejudices. (Not.) Confused yet? Join the club and, hang on to your ass because if Guido Cuomo, (Mr. "America was never great..."), or that bimbo movie star win this year, they'll go on a gun grab that rivals Australia, and ANY use of a gun my a law abiding citizen will be dealt with as if your Charles Manson.
yep, that's why my system is hardwired and ill never put it online. Besides the recording box is in my safe room.(not a panic room but a big ass walk-in safe for guns. No way they're getting into it.
@@Mr.Potato420 But coz these cameras are online they can send you a message to your phone and you can see whats going on wherever you are. Its catch 22
For the life in me I will never understand how can someone just casually walk into a stranger home and start taking stuff. These are the people that get killed and deserve every bit of it..
First guy should of called the cops, then with his voice app. yell," PUT YOUR HANDS UP!! LAY ON THE FLOOR!! YOU MOVE I WILL SHOOT!!!" This would make it safer for the cops becouse if the man did have a gun and tryed to use it theres no one there to be shot and you could inform the police that he has a weapon.
It happened to me, just 3 weeks after I moved into my home. I had an appointment to have a system installed 4 days later. They knew when I left, and I walked in as it was happening, and saw them running out of the kitchen door. Scariest thing ever! Had everything on my bed, with a sheet under it all, so they can cart it out when they were done shopping. Only thing they were able to take was my laptop, my life and business was on that thing. I threw away every single clothing item they touched while going through my drawers. I was scared, felt violated, and PISSED because I realized they had been watching my home. I put up sensor lights EVERYWHERE, an alarms system and now a security camera system. Sad that we have to spend so much protect what we work so hard for. Crazy enough, one of my neighbor’s has been in prison for many years, in and out, and he said he couldn’t find work anywhere, so his ‘job’ was burglarizing homes to feed himself and give money to his kid’s mom. He regrets it all now, and talks to kids at schools letting them know getting caught isn’t the worst thing that can happen...
sssooooooo with that reply, we all see that you are into that business?, if so, hopefully you get warm greed by a house owner with his friends Mr. Smith & Mr. Wesson or Mr. Glock....
My home got robbed 3 times before and I was paranoid for 1year or two and I never wanted to go outside by myself because of the fear so now we upgraded our security

I have outsmarted a burglar back in 2013 with my glock 19. Way better than any camera.
Me as well but no gun.
That's a good idea, but illegal!

It's real sickening how we work so hard for the things they have, only to have losers stealing things
The camera is good. But an alarm that will go off and immediately contact police once someone has entered is better.
I really like the idea of setting up camera's to make sure we'll be safe but then I also get worried that someone else could be watching us thought the camera, its like a 50/50 chance..
It happens if you don't secure it properly.
Yup. Change your router default password
I would love to see that first guys reaction if the homeowner would've played a recording of gunshots on that loudspeaker....😂😂
So the one man had enough sense to put in a surveillance system
but then the idiot leaves the window unlocked on the fire escape.
go figure!!!!!!
The suspects were released because it was entrapment
Depends entirely on what type of locks are on windows. The cheap windows with one lock in the center are so easy to pop open it should be illegal to sell/manufacture them. You have to add sensors to them just to have some peace of mind while you sleep.
See these are good cops. This is what we need. Cops who treat civilians lives as there neighbor/friend/teacher etc
Make a safe room, let it be open and put all of the cool stuff in there. When someone enters that room, lock it automatically from anywhere and then have a chat with the burglar...
Awesome! I love 💕 this new technology! And you don’t have to spend a lot of money! Great job homeowners!
Good for her, I am definitely going to do the same for my new home.

Ooo yeah, baby! 🤣
😂😂
I'm sure his neighbors love the fact he let the guy go.
I loved the look of panic when they knew they'd been had!
Locking shutters, alarms, guard dogs I’m going the whole nine yards
My only concern with that is when the shutters are down does it advertise the fact no one is home?
@@budte Not necessarily. During the summer I shut them to keep out the heat, in winter, to stay warm.

I would have taught Alexa to play Liam Neeson line in taken “ I know where you at & im watching you” 😂😂
Where do I buy the cameras that blow up in their face?
Thought I was the only one thinking that. Ha. Like people stealing clothes or money bags on the way to deposit, they explode with ink, let em explode wile-e-coyote style.
Imagine if he whispered i see you or im gonna get you
Ok could we change the laws “ Unless we catch them in the act there’s nothing we can do” THEY ARE CAUGHT ON CAMERA! Charge them!
@Sal m Where is ''over here''.?
This is just letting the bad know what to be on the look out for.🤷🏾♀️🤷🏾♀️
I understand what you're saying, but these devices are adveristed all over the internet. Bad guys do their homework too, so the should aldready be aware of their possible presence. It's kind of like the nimrods who Rob a local bank & everyone see's the photo all over the evening news. It's a whole new world, & your wrong if you think your not being photographed much of the time. I even have some of my video surveillance right out in the open, with notifications posted.
Okay and?.. You make it seem like a bad thing. Wouldn't you want people good or bad to know you got your shit on lock to detour them rather them not know and bust in your shit?
Just like the bible says, The eyes of the Lord are everywhere, keeping watch on the wicked and good.
With camera's, you can identify the suspect's.
They wear hoods, most of the time
LOL, yeah just give them the heads up so they can run off and keep doing it, brilliant, glad I don't have neighbors like that.
I would call the cops but they are slow af.
If you want faster service, tell dispatch that you think it's a drug deal...

My daughter has the most AMAZING deterrent I’ve EVER seen. Living near a college you get young opportunists . After volunteering for a dog rescue she found the loves of her life that have saved her and belongings a dozen times over. A black pitpull and a huge WHITE Argentine Doggo ( like Cane Corso ) and there was peace and security for 15 years. Left the door unlocked and NO ONE bothered to test it
“I just told him to please get out” him through the camera :GTFO OF MY HOUSE.
It blows my mind how people leave their windows unlocked, like you’re basically asking someone to come in & rob you at that point.

L M
As a former LEO, What is your response to a homeowner that just blows them to kingdom come..Would they be prosecuted?
www.concealedcarry.com/self-defense-gun-owner-insurance-programs-compared/
The liberal prosecutors are mad as hell that they can't take away our guns, so they go HARD after law-abiding citizens to make an example out of them.
Just get insurance to protect yourself against these liberal loonies that abuse their power with malicious prosecution.
It should be mandatory 20 year hard time for anyone breaking into someone's home.

The first time the homeowner hurts a burglar with one of them, he'll
be looking for bail money!

This would make it safer for the cops becouse if the man did have a gun and tryed to use it theres no one there to be shot and you could inform the police that he has a weapon.
Lock all doors, bullet proof glass, check on them in a month.
Great "bait house" idea!
