    Thank you for this, I've been trying to sell my OM-1 after I couldn't really find information on how to properly color correct its log profile in Premiere. I'll give it another shot this weekend and see if I can make something out of it.

      @@marchumphreyphotography You’re welcome. It was very good to learn about the White Balance setting and all the info about the Codex and LUT was new to me. Do you have the Mark II? I’ve found the Subject Detection C-AF in video is noticeably better than on the Mark I but still find it losing the bird when the eye is not visible.

    Brilliant job, Marc! Thank you for making the time to post this information. Question: Have you ever used Topaz Video AI, shot at 1080P and up ressed it to 4K?

    Just as another little tip for anyone that cares...with the shutterspeed try to keep it in multiples so for 60fps 1/125 , 1/250 1/500 etc

    • @marchumphreyphotography
      @marchumphreyphotography  5 месяцев назад

      Oh i've never heard of that tip, thanks Joe! What does it help with?

      @@marchumphreyphotography Just makes the (lack of) motion blur appear less jarring as it's in multiples of the frame rate it's also handy for lights flickering as well depending on region :]

      @marchumphreyphotography I've been doing video longer than photo (not that anyone would know lol) so I've picked up quite a few video tips over the years :)

    Thanks Marc, just what I was looking for. Next I’ll need to fathom the complexities of the editing software.
    Do you find Premiere Pro intuitive once you understand the basics?

    • @marchumphreyphotography

      Great stuff - glad you enjoyed! Premiere pro is very intuitive (to a point) - I've found it much more intuitive than other software. Plus there are myriad RUclips tutorials too

    Very helpful video. If we put settings at 240fps, do we still have access to autofocus? If yes, which type of autofocus can we choose?

    • @marchumphreyphotography
      @marchumphreyphotography  5 месяцев назад

      Glad you found it useful Levi! At those speeds, you can only shoot at 1080p, and only have single focus or manual focus available

    Interested to know how you set the auto focus speed and sensitivity when in video. Plus how do you find ithe OM-1 when videoing birds in flight? Plus have you found a polarising filter that can easily fit on to the 300mm F4 lens?

    • @marchumphreyphotography
      @marchumphreyphotography  5 месяцев назад

      I keep both the speed & sensitivity at 0 - I haven't found changing those settings to make a huge bit of difference tbh. I find the OM-1 pretty bad with birds in flight... the tracking just isn't anywhere near as good as it is for stills. Yes, K&F Concept do plenty of filters that fit the 300mm - would you be looking for a polariser or an ND filter?

    Focus peaking works as soon as I pull back the focus ring. I don´t fim so thiswas a lot of new knowledge. I should try it out. P.S::The autofocus for filming is better on the OM1II than on the OM1. You notice the difference.

    • @marchumphreyphotography
      @marchumphreyphotography  5 месяцев назад

      My focus peaking works when I pull the focus ring back, but it disappears after a few seconds - and only comes back when I move the focus ring again... but I don't find that very helpful when filming, so the button means it's on all the time. Yes, having played with the mk 2 the autofocus is definitely better in video - but the subject tracking is still rather poor in video, in my opinion

      Ah well to simplify it, I would suggest simply shooting in 4K 60FPS in the h.264/8 Bit format - it should mean the footage looks good straight out of the camera 😊
