Until your video I hadn’t thought about battery impact of pro capture. I have Fujifilm X-H2s which as very similar Pre-ES which I use a lot for bird photography - I was thinking the camera was harder on batteries than my X-T5. Thanks for the insight. The pro capture and equivalent are such a valuable feature. I like how OM systems allow you to customise the pre capture period. Fujifilm uses 1 second, which works well in most cases.
Fantastic I have the same set up . Please keep them videos coming I really have enjoyed your videos. Have a great Sunday and looking forward to next week. Hi from the Algarve Portugal if you’re ever over this way I can show you around birding ok
Great video Marc, even though I only have a Nikon P900 the pre capture and other camera related articles was very interesting and informative even though I'm mid 70s it marvellous to learn new things, I don't, live far from a really ancient piece of woodland In County Durham, so just waiting for some decent light to locate the flycatchers and Redstart. As it's only a few weeks watching your channel I'm slowly getting through your wonderful informative videos, most enjoyable thanks again cheers Derek 👍
Thank you Derek 😊 ah the P900 is a brilliant birding camera isn't it! I wish you the best of luck with the flycatchers & redstart. Top man, appreciate the support
Mike line shows you images he has taken little bit disappointed with this video no images shown. Makes it difficult to appreciate how good this camera system is.
@@marchumphreyphotography Thinking about it I was expecting too much I was just expecting to see close in flight shots of the pied flycatcher. The person that you are wouldn’t allow you to go close to the nest box so it was never going to happen. Please accept my apology I will continue to enjoy your videos thank you
Hi Mark, the video was very nice and the photos are fabulous. I would definitely be interested to see how you set up your camera for flying and stationary birds. Thanks for everything
Another great video Marc I forget to have a look at most , it's only usually when I get a notification that you've put one up that I look though! I shall be more vigilant in future lol Look forward to seeing the video on your settings for the om I've had mine for a year now , and have used two other's settings, sometimes I think they could be better? So I'll look out for yours mate 👍🏻
@@marchumphreyphotography Thanks for the reply Marc Yes , myself too It's easy to take in everyone's info and then get too complicated Had a 100-400 at one point, and I got some really very good shots with it , everything setting was simple Now I'm fortunate enough to have the 150-400 pro , I'll say so myself if I may , I've got some excellent shots with it , but it all boils down to more simpler settings I believe? I'll look out for the new vid mate 👍🏻
Hi Mark fantastic video really enjoyed it I certainly would be interested in seeing how you have set up your camera, I’m hoping to get a om1 next month as I will be selling all my canon gear going over to a light weight system thank you for sharing your videos with us. Martyn
Fantastic photos! I managed to do this with a starling from about 7 meters away (700 photos in 30 min.) 90% of all photos were sharp. The camera was an OM1II.
Very nice! One comment: I find the dubbed-in shutter sound for the individual shots a bit of a distraction. Pro-capture uses silent shutter, for one thing, and no OM System camera I’ve owned had a shutter sound like that. Still loved the video and stills!
Thanks Louis - yes I think you're right on that! I mostly use it to distinguish between the video and the photos, but I'll take a look next time I edit a video to see what else I can do.
Lovely to see the Flycatcher. Excellent demo of Pre Capture and the Menu settings.
Thanks Sue, much appreciated 😊
Great seeing them take off like this!
Excellent video Marc, very helpful indeed and as always great to see and hear these special birds 👍
Thanks John, I really appreciate it!

Ah I'd give the X-H2S a go, it looks to be a great wildlife camera. Thanks for the comment
Really enjoying your videos, I've just purchased an OM-5 and exploring the features like Pro-Caputure.
thank you Tim 😊 ah brilliant, how are you enjoying the OM-5?
Fantastic I have the same set up . Please keep them videos coming I really have enjoyed your videos. Have a great Sunday and looking forward to next week. Hi from the Algarve Portugal if you’re ever over this way I can show you around birding ok
Hi Dave, that's all very kind of you! I'd absolutely love to visit the Algarve one day
I use this feature on my Fuji X-T5. It's brilliant!
great stuff! glad it's becoming a more mainstream feature on all brands!
Hi Marc, Canon have a similar feature on the R6 MkII. I recently used it to capture a peregrine taking off from a cathedral spire. Nice video 👍🏻
Hi Steve, ah good stuff! thanks for the comment 😊

I was up there last week. A wonderful part of the country. Does auto ISO work with pre-capture?
Gorgeous isn't it! Yes it works with auto ISO
Great video Marc and some great images. Mike Lane uses pro-capture a lot and has also taken some stunning images with it. 👍
Thanks very much Ian, ah yes he loves it doesn't he!

Great video Marc!
Thank you Sam!
hi Marc love pied flycatchers, the wood in devon where i see them was to cold this year and they didnt show, so nice to watch your videos.
Hi Rod, thanks for the comment :) yes it does seem they've been affected by the cold this year unfortunately
Another great video Marc

My picture when half pressing button in procap low with em1x is shaky?
Sorry, I'm not sure I understand your question?
