    Thank you! I changed out my def heater no problem. It took about two hours by the time I cleaned off the tank and all ( I live on a gravel road) I don’t have a scan tool, but the check engine light cleared itself out after a number of drive cycles. I can’t believe that the dealer wanted over $800.00 to do this. Ridiculous!! Too easy!

    Excellent video. P205 code reductant supply. Replaced both heater and def pump using oem parts. Erased code using basic scan tool. Pickup has no issues now. Ford 250 2011 6.7 liter.

    Do all these DEF heaters come from the same place? It looks exactly like the one that failed in my Chevy Duramax. Same canister and all. My dealer says the heaters in the 2013, 14 and 15's all have issues and stop working. I also see VW's and other models having trouble with DEF heaters.

    hi . how you doing . realy i need help if you can please . i have ford F-350 super duty 6.7L 2014 have message at cluster" Engine idle " and " Exhaust fluid system fault ", i checked code by IDS found code DEF low pressure , found high pressure line leak .i have complete new tank with DEF pump , line and new injector . replaced all new components with new harness on top of DEF pump add fresh DEF fluid , after instal clear code and test the system for leak using IDS was ok . after i try to drive the truck and start the truck from cold with RPM about 1500 all normal method did not work then i tried next steps
    reprogram PCM with IDS for latest ver.
    follow the TSB 14-0192 start with step no 5 to clear message . does not work
    EXHAUST REGENERATION PROCESS done , message not clear
    no code just message in cluster and engine have limited RPM in position D
    what do think i miss or where my mistake
    all history i know someone from other shop tried to clean the tank and cause the leak . truck was there for the message and limited RPM

    Question, when you unplugged the connector temp remained 84 degrees. Why? This truck I'm diagnosing stuck at 53. Unplugging connector did nothing to change temp reading

    My very old Actron scanner says, P20BA: Fuel air metering auxiliary emissions controls. Is this the same as P20BA: Reductant Heater "A" Control Circuit Performance? Also, can I use an ohm meter to look for 1.0 to 2.5 ohms to confirm the unit needs replacing? Maybe test between the two fat wires, white and pink in color? Thank you very much.

      There’s no reason to keep it stock… the emissions control consists of an EGR system, a DPF system, and a DEF system… the EGR recycles exhaust through your engine, which is terrible for it, the DPF is basically just a bunch of mesh wiring that catch’s soot and every so often burns it out, and the DEF just won’t last more than 100,000 miles, it just mixes with the black smoke enough to make it clear is all… all in all, it doesn’t even reduce any emissions, it makes your gas mileage go down, ruins your engine, and it often costs more to replace then delete, not to mention all the money you’re gonna spend on DEF and gas due to your terrible gas mileage… the only reason to not delete is if your area gets in trouble a lot for it, in other words, it’s only a bad idea if you’re in a target area, I know people down south don’t care at all about it and never get caught

    Is there an option to run the DEF pump to pump out the fluid to do this fix? I dont have a transmission jack so I'd like to run the pump with the IDS and make the tank as light as possible.
    Maybe provide the IDS steps to do so and I guess just unplug the DEF line to the injector in the DPF, correct?
    Any insight would be great!

    • @flmmaz
      @flmmaz  8 лет назад

      The def pump can't be turned on directly with the IDS. There are test that will allow the pump to run but at a limited capacity and you would be there all day trying to pump out 5 gallons of DEF. I have used a siphon hose in the past to "suck" the fluid out of the fill port on the tank.

    I see this owner was nostalgic and has the 08-10 rims on this truck. Love the 6.7 engines as far as reliability goes they seem pretty good, helluva a lot better then the 6.4 and the 6.0 my 6.0 that I sold last year had 493k on the OD and still never burnt oil or puked coolant but it was deleted and studded as soon as the warranty was out due to it being an 04.
    Cant say I understand why people are thinking they need to delete a 6.7 so quick, It is a totally different beast then the 6.4 and 6.0 were but people seem to think the 6.7 has the same issues the 6.4 did with contamination in regards to the engine

    • @mjkowboy1
      @mjkowboy1 7 лет назад

      my 03' 6.0l gave me 300k with no issues other than 1 injector@250k and a ficm @180k. didn't burn oil and wasn't deleted. My 2015 6.7 on the other hand has spent more time in the garage in its short life.

    • @nathanbotkin8130

      People just wanna delete Bc all those emissions control waste so much diesel, and the systems for emissions control are just junk especially the DEF system… there’s really no telling when those things are gonna go out, they really could go out within 40,000 miles, they usually go out around 100,000 but anyway, that’s it, they’re just unnecessary trash that genuinely cause more harm to the planet then good

    Great video buddy. The same thing happened to my truck yesterday. Let me ask you a question, will the DEF system still function even if the part hasn't been replaced? Thank you for your time sir.

    • @flmmaz

      I'm not 100% sure, but if the pump and the injector are ok, I think it will still spray even if the heater or sending unit is flagging codes. I would have to do some research on that to know for certain.

    Hello and thanks for the video.
    I have a question for my F450 dually.
    I have a P20B9 and a P207F code, my truck pointed out to me that the "system of fluid exhaust to a problem".
    I was limited to 80 km/h, and then I ended up on the side of the road with a message telling me that the "engine is going to be imminent idling".
    Now I can't drive.
    I have a message that tells me "idling engine, look at the manual"!
    I ordered a new heater and I would like to know if once installed, the message will fade alone and I'll be able to drive normally or I see a dealer to clear codes?
    regards
    sorry for my english I'm use a translator

    • @flmmaz
      @flmmaz  7 лет назад

      The chances of you getting the truck out of "idle only mode" are slim. After the problem is corrected, you really need a powerful scan tool to monitor the SCR pid data in order to perform a "drive cycle" to clear the fault. The system requires a ton of exhaust heat and can be difficult to achieve when the engine will only idle. We perform multiple manual regens to get the exhaust temps up, but there again that requires a scan tool.

      I'm go to Ford driving slow, once I have change the defective fluid heater giving me 5.1 ohms. They did a multitude of test with a program IDS 105 amount the exhaust to a high temperature, and then let it cool and much more.
      They have erased the memory of the PCM all codes.
      they put 1 h 30 and they have unlocked engine and all is well.
      It cost me$ 147.
      I really good service at home, and they take me without an appointment.

      Hi
      After 250 km the p207F code is returned and the truck stuck on idle. What for? There is another the P20a1 code.
      I begin to be in a bad mood.
      The technician at ford to a small road test of 2 km.
      is that he hurt is his job?
      your opinion.

    • @flmmaz
      @flmmaz  7 лет назад

      P20A1 is a problem with the def purge valve and will cause the system to shut down completely, The valve is part of the pump assembly and has to be replaced as a unit. Call your dealer and see if any of this is covered under the vehicle's warranty and if they would be interested in looking at your truck at a reduced rate due to the fact you just had it in the shop. Just throwing out some ideas.

      thank for your responses
      my truck is a 2014 with 338600 km.
      I don't think the warranty.
      but hey it's a 2014.
      I had messages this afternoon telling me "imminent engine idle" but the message was fading and came back.
      I kept rolling without cutting my engine and arriving home to find the trailer I cut the engine.
      Then by starting the engine a message saying "speed Max 80 km/h and I went to put fuel in my tank by cutting the engine." And the idle switch on.
      what I don't understand is why when the engine idle message is displayed it, he left and returned to 200 km!
      the reaction took place only when the engine is shut down.
      and how is location valve purge?

    • @flmmaz

      That connector holds 8 pins, The two for the heater are the biggest wires in the connector (to carry the needed amperage) pin location 1 and 2.

      This was filmed with a smart phone and there was no way I could get that kind of footage. That connector can be difficult to disconnect if it is full of dirt. Use a prybar under the bracket to push the christmas tree retainer up and out of the bracket. Then you can have better access to the connector to get it apart.
