Cassandra I just wanted to mention that Tatcha isn’t a Japanese brand, it’s a Japanese-inspired American brand started by an American woman. It is inspired by “Geisha’s Skincare Routine” which most Japanese would say it’s a big BS.
Does anybody else find these videos insanely therapeutic? Like I don't really care much about the celebrities that Cassandra is reacting to, but just her dropping skincare knowledge and her overall energy are really pleasant and enjoyable to listen to.
The story about the child not improving while not taking their prescription reminds me of my friend joking: “It turns out the contraceptive implant doesn’t work from a drawer.” after she had been unable to schedule an appointment to get it inserted and became pregnant. Fortunately she loves her son and is a great mother but I’m sure she’d have preferred to not become pregnant at that exact point of her life.
You would be surprised how many prople are like that, but they usually lie to the doctor about using their meds and complain that they are not feeling better.
Kinda reminds me of the girl who lied to my uncle, who is a family doctor. She told him there was something growing inside her belly and that she suffered from frequent nausea; my uncle visited her, thought it was a huge tumor and send her for a further check up. Comes back with the results; she's pregnant. She says it's impossible, because she neveeer had sex and asked my uncle if it's possible she got pregnant from a toilet seat in a public restroom. My uncle said to her "Sure...but only if between you and that toilet seat there was a penis". Had her baby 5-6 months later.
@@mermaidmoon2254 I'm guessing your uncle is a big fan of the TV show House MD lol That's basically word for word a quote from the episode Joy to the world! It's absolutely hilarious though lol I loved that show
Hey, Cassie...the first sunscreen was invented by an AUSTRALIAN (not an Austrian...) way back in the early 1930s. I’m an Aussie and we’ve been pretty obsessive about the sun’s rays since the early 1980s, having he highest rate of skin cancer in the world (Anglo-Celtic skin plus huge rays - my human biology teacher always said we don’t biologically belong here, unlike our indigenous people). To this day our TGA (Therapy Goods Administration - like your FDA) makes brands jump through so many hoops when they want approval to sell sunscreen here so many give up, and we can’t buy a lot of the sunscreens you have because of this. Australians always laugh when we’re called Austrians, by the way.💋
At least clinique reformulated the toner to remove acetone. When I was younger, in the 80s and 90s, and used clinique it would gum up my nail polish if I let it sit on my nails too long while wiping my face with a cotton ball.
Hold up, it had _acetone_ in it? In a facial toner? Oh my god. I remember back in the late 90s, when I became an acne-riddled teenager, my mother always tried to get me to go to the mall and get a "Clinique makeover" -- have a lady in the perfume section do my makeup and use their products because it was "clinical" and "good for sensitive skin." Sounds like I really dodged a bullet by being my good old procrastinating self.
@@sluttymctits4496 yep, ACETONE! Look it up. Turn & learn 😉 I never repurchased it after the first bottle. My parents have always been about "natural" products and I was convinced that I needed something more "clinical". I scrapped it after the 1st bottle and went to the derm who put me on Rx meds and changed my BC to somethingwith less testosterone. I had PCOS and never knew it was a thing. Cystic ance is a beast that thankfully is in my past!
Clinique made me break out so bad in my early 20's that I'm still traumatized. The lady at the store INSISTED I had oily skin and I totally believed her because those were the dark ages before skinfluencers. What I have is dry, sensitive skin, but my face begins to sweat as soon as I walk into a store in the winter. She saw sweaty and thought oily. That stuff stripped my skin and gave me the worst cystic acne of my life. I was given a Clinique product for my bday last year and almost cried. 😂
I have combination skin and I have a an oil free Clinique foundation, which whenever I am struggling with bad skin like acne, I feel this one doesn’t make it worse but actually prevents to get worse, I wouldn’t write off the whole brand
Before influencers people needed to look things up at the library and now that they exist they should still look it up online and learn how to cross reference information as influencers are not always accurate.
Well, considering it’s almost impossible to thoroughly sterilise these products from home, it’s not exactly safe. Hot water and alcohol does not sterilise products.
please also do a video on Nicole Kidman for Harper's! What an absolute queen, with the simplest, most normal routine. In this video I LOVED that Huda also used stuff from other brands than her own
amazing actress BUT not looking like herself because of so many plastic surgery work done on her face... like she hardly can express emotions in movies 💔
Used Clinique 3 steps and their serum for over 10yrs, my skin got better when i stopped and switched to basic CeraVe and serums, i also ditched toners. I own zero toners. I was told i don’t need it
I micro- needle at home regularly and have great results. Licensed professionals charge the same as my weekly mortgage, and I need to pay my mortgage. You can safely micro needle at home as long as you keep it hygienic.
exactly I wear gloves I make sure that I use 97% alcohol keep the area clean and I use the doctor's pen. I’ve been doing it for three years. I’ve never had an infection keep the area clean and I use the doctor pen I’ve been doing it for three years. I’ve never had an infection cleanliness is the key!!!! Dr. pen has disposable needles and you throw them away after each year I don’t recommend using the roller personally.
I used to wear Clinique too, back in the early 2000s. There was not that many options back then, so I just follow whatever my mom uses (which was Clinique, for the longest time). It was so expensive and didn’t do much for my skin. So happy with the variety of skincare we have now. 😊😊
Me too! Was totally loyal to the Clinique brand from age 13 to 38. People cringe at Clinique now, but at the time it was the only “dermatologist” brand.
Me too! I started using it in my mid teens and way into college, it was working ish, compared to the body shop tea tree like at least 😂 but there weren’t many better options out there and it at least contained a moisturizer which my stripped skin soaked up. It was good and good that it was :)
@@beckyenglish4783 you remind me that Clinique was indeed recommended by my dermatologist! I used to develop rashes whenever I wore lipstick/lipgloss, she said that it was allergies to what’s in the lip products so she suggested Clinique because it was hypoallergenic (didn’t work). Years later I found out that it’s because my skin is super dry and I found a magical thing called lip balm!! That solved all of my lip problems. Took me moving to a different country with a different climate to figure that out 😂😂😂
@@billyjean3118 my friend used to wear Body Shop and her skin was in a worse situation than mine. I never touch their skincare until now because of that 😂😂
I have to say, I started with breakouts when I was 11...mom bought me a Neutrogena 'clear soap' that made it worse (definitely a dermatitis reaction!) It wasn't until I turned 15 and got a job that I was actually able to save my money to buy Clinique, which fixed my skin for a long time. This was the 70s (yes I'm VERY old!), when we didn't know any better! I'm so thankful that people like you are out there now to educate us, and we've come so far from alcohol toners and Sea Breeze to treat our skin issues! Hey, do you know if GM Collin is cruelty free? They use it at my spa, but I don't know a lot about the brand...
me too girl I was 20 and bought that 3 piece kit. Also remember the 10-0-6 by Bonnie Bell lol that and the Neutrogena bar that is what I used as a teenager along with the Bonnie Bell Lip Smackers....we all thought we were on top of it. LOL
Same I was 11/12 when I got blackheads whiteheads and closed condones, now I’m 13 and have milia under my eyes my blackheads are gone but my whiteheads on my nose remain here to this day. The only thing I’m scared of is I still have forehead bumps :(
@@Nikoomilano I would recommend a benzoyl peroxide spot treatment. I also suffer from forehead bumps and the spot treatment got rid of most of the bumps in like 2 days
I’ve used the Thirst Trap Juice. It’s really nice, I don’t know if it’s a MUST HAVE but it’s good! Now I’m using the Honey Whip and so far, I’m IN LOVE WITH IT. I have combination skin (also acne prone even tho I dealt with hardcore acne when I was younger and that left some scarring) and this one is sooooo light and it really makes you feel moisturized for a long time. The fragrance is barely there, so I don’t think it’s a huge problem. I’ll try that rose oil next! Thank you for your review, as always ❤️
My mom loves the honey whip and she is older with insanely sensitive skin and love it. Also she looks the yoglow exfoliater!!!! And i can’t stop using yoglow too. This line has deff changed a lot for me🥰
Yaaaaaa! She had a video about trying to recycle all the food containers in a day of traveling or something like that but I can’t find it anymore, it was so fun to watch!
That Clinique toner reminds me of my most foolish teenage days and when I tried to get rid of my acne by litterally using rubbing alcohol like a toner. My skin would peel badly and the only lotion I'd have to treat the peeling was by bath and bodyworks 😬
Seeing that toner gave me flashbacks. Good loooooooooord it was like paint stripper. I already had skin like the Sahara when I was given some at 21 so fortunately I just put it down the back of the cupboard because I didn't know what a toner was. With you on the cheap lotion though. I used $2 lanolin cream from Big W and honestly? I think it did less harm than the one time I tried that Clinique toner.
Omg i used home made propolis, basically alcohol with bee pollen, all over my pimples, nobody heard of daily spf back then and acne skin was supposed to be dried out so moisturizer was also unheard of. How do we still have skin!! 😂
It's actually the same for me with the Clinique toner - I've tried it all for the past 20 years and I really mean it, when I say this. Paula's Choice, The Ordinary (and really nice Polish dupes - BasicLab and Nacomi brands), natural skincare, mineral makeup, witch-hazel toners, korean and japanese skincare, La Mer - you name it. It is the only thing that keeps my face free of acne :(
@@campbellofsweden probably got acne when puberty hit, which is really common, and mum probably used Clinique so we just use whatever our parents have 💀
Same for me too, I used it for about a year with great results then stopped due to hyram saying how bad it was. Tried loads of other things other things and have continued to try but nothing works like this. Last week I decided to start again with it but on use on and around spots and already seen a difference. Sometimes what works/doesn't work for 1 works for another. The rest of my routine is really good and hydration based so I honestly think that bit of a 'bad' product won't do me any harm.
Same same I still swear by it now. I went a week or two without it multiple times just to try see what happened but the before and after work and without the toner was night and day!
I’ve heard the BEST advice from a Dermatologist who went to medical school, formulated and engineered her own products because what was on the market wasn’t working for her, she has the BEST skin in PERSON I’ve ever seen in my life; she definitely uses medical grade products and encourages using them, BUT she told me, IF you have a product that you genuinely notice a difference when you DONT use it, then use the product! No matter the brand or product. Don’t let these skincare snobs/skinfluencers make you feel stupid for using something that works for you. As long as you know that’s the product working for you. :)
YES PLEASE GIVE US A VIDEO ON HOW TO BE MORE CONSISTENT W SKIN CARE 🥺 i went thru a rather bad wave of depression and getting back into my old routine has been so hard. i would love to hear some of your tips.
Your facial expressions when you’re hearing the bad skincare advise these people give is so funny to me. Also when you curse. Please keep cursing in your videos 😂😂
Clinique products aren't fragranced. That's kind of their shtick. They sometimes sneak in masking fragrance materials like floralozone and hedione, though.
@@ashleybach7916 I’m an oldster and I hate it too :) I used it when I was a youngster and there’s so many better products now. But it’s a very interesting phenomenon, such a popular and “it” brand back then and now basically a relic.
Hyram did a video on Clinique and he talked about the benefits of some of the ingredients. And yes, no fragrance is their thing so….hate on it but be accurate when you do. And really, it might need some updating but it’s not all bad. If Hyram can find good….
Well he’s more of an expert than most of us so hardly….not accurate. My point is the claim of Clinique having fragrance is inaccurate. And if someone young like Hyram can find good ingredients in it, maybe it’s not as bad as Cassandra is saying.
This is the third video I have watched from this channel. Frankly, I am in love with the sharp humour, the authenticity and the information being given to help a more healthy lifestyle. Another one in my favourites!!! ♥️♥️
100% would love a video on sticking with a routine. I'm a total skincare junkie and have been since 2015 but struggle during depressive episodes to make myself do any of it
I have depression too, and it helps to remember that like she says, all you really need are cleanser, moisturiser and sunscreen. If you don’t have oily skin, you don’t need to cleanse in the morning, if you leave the house just sunscreen is enough, and if you don’t go outside you don’t need anything in the morning. At night a cleanser and moisturiser is enough, though sometimes I skip that too if I didn’t leave the house so I don’t have any sunscreen, makeup or pollutants on my skin lmao Then if you can, adding one treatment step in between the cleanser and moisturiser is plenty, just targeted at what your skin needs. If your skin is fine, you don’t even need that, but if you're trying to treat something, that’s when consistency is important. I can get away with a day of not leaving the house and not touching my skin, but if you have acne or something, it might be harder.
Microneedling at 0.25mm depth is just going to facilitate product penetration. Obviously it needs to be sterile, but it's otherwise safe. No need for this hysterical reaction to microneedling without differentiating between various needle depths.

I started using Huda's skincare line about a year ago. I used the The Honey Balm Niacinamide moisturizer first and loved it. Bought several jars and then she came out with the Honey Whip Peptide moisturizer and like that as well. They honey balm left a slight irredescent glow to the skin which I loved. They are both great moisturizers. I've tried her scrub as well and that is nice, too.
@Tall Blonde - Thank you for the post. I received a sample of the Honey Whip as requested with my Sephora order, but I only got one use out of it before my nosey Jack Russell, Lucy grabbed the foil containing the remainder of the sample, and that was the end of that. 😒 I will be running out to Sephora this weekend and need a few new skincare items and will look at some of her other items. You’ve helped me so much with helping my skin care routine and wallet !! I’ve literally been struggling with teenage acne, hormonal acne and now adult acne. Since finding your videos, it has really helped me hone in on my issues with and find products that target these issues! Love you Queen 👑 ❤️🔥
Dermarolling at home? Why not? 0.25 and 0.5 I think are safe to use at home, just make sure it is totally sanitized. I have tried using both sizes and my skin textures have improved a lot.
I would like to see a video on what treatments to seek out when going to an derm/esthetician/facialist for the first time! What treatments are worth your time and which aren’t, what exactly the treatments do, etc. Love your videos!!
I knew you were going to hate microneedling but wow it has made such a difference in my skin. I DO make sure to sanitize my stuff and only use it when I know I'll be in a sanitary environment without the need for a mask for a day or so. I think it has been magical
I think a lot of people MN at home not all can afford going to get it done by a doctor or spa place they never mention the cost when talking about dont do at home go get it done by a doctor. I admit I MN at home and have seen such improvement ive never had any issues she mentioned i know its a risk but I also know the risk can also happen in doctor offices. I just can't afford getting it professionally done.
Ya I never had problems micro needling at home and also did it professionally and it’s usually way deeper and more aggressive in office. If you sanitize and know what your doing it can be fine plus there’s needle lengths designed for home use.
She acts like everyone is an idiot when it’s very easy to follow proper protocols to microneedle at home. I’ve done it dozens of times with no issues because I’ve followed good advice from verified sources, something Cassandra seems to think we’re too stupid to do. What I think is stupid is paying someone $400 for one session of something I can do at home six times for $20.
Microneedling at home can be done safely and properly. I’ve done it for close to 10 years. Everyone thinks I’m in my mid twenties. I have zero wrinkles. Yes I use med grade skincare and I’m extremely consistent with my skin care and dermarolling…but I’m a testament to what being consistent at home can do. No lasers. I’ve only had Botox 4x ever. I don’t get facials regularly and actually probably go in for a facial once in a year….if that. Dermarolling is awesome
One of the Clinique products that I think is actually really good is the take the day off balm. It's not stripping and it's fragrance free. It removes makeup so well!
As an esthetician I had a male client in his late 20's early 30's that started to do a full skin scan with his derm in his early 20's and I was like yesssss! It's so important to make sure your skin is healthy!
Yes give us a history lesson on who created sunscreen! Also, a video on self tanners and how to find DHA% in products. It's like hidden information or something
I'm a bit on the fence on her knowledge on skincare, *however* i will say the Wishful Yo Glow exfoliant is a definite go-to for me. I love that it's gentle, but you rly see a difference after use (rly helps w dullness and clogged pores)
I'd assume she has to have derms on the team for wishful, so honestly I wouldn't worry too much! I also love Yo Glow but also the Honey Whip Moisturizer :P
Great! I use clinique for 15 years. It was the only one which really gets my skin clear. Its fantastic. I tried so many things but i always go back to this.
I live in Iceland, everything in Iceland is expensive. Even for the same products sold in Europe we have to pay at least 30% more here. And everything Icelandic is even more expensive. I don’t know how and why but it just is. Like, imported broccoli is much cheaper than the ones that are grown here lmao. I have been using Bio Effect products for over a year now, the essence, serum and cream, and I swear my skin is much better. More hydrated, supple and tight.
Yes Cassandra please do a video about consistency! With so many products saying use 2x-3x/week, how much of a patterned schedule should we be managing? My calendar starts looking like a parent of five kids trying to keep everyone's schedules straight 😵
The “skin cycling” trend really helped me with trying to fit different actives into a weekly schedule haha Though I prefer the weekly cycle over the four day cycle that started trending, because that way I always know that sunday is exfoliation day, for example. I keep everything else the same, just alternate things like retinols, exfoliation, things that you shouldn’t mix. Actually doing it and staying consistent with it I can’t help, but notes and schedules, that’s my thing lmao
Please make that video on how to be more consistent with skin care. I am one of those people who find it hard to build habits around things I'm clueless about. I love your channel! Thank you for what you do!
I got a sample of that honey whip moisturizer and after using it twice I immediately bought the full size. I absolutely love it! I've always had a hard time finding a moisturizer, they usually make me break out so I just never used one most of my life, but the skin around my nose started getting dry and flaky so I needed one and so glad I got the sample of the honey whip
Microneedling at home is not a problem if you have educated yourself a bit on the matter on how to do it properly, probably one of the most important things is getting a quality dermaroller with medical grade needles, been doing it for over a year to treat my scars with excellent results.
MY TIME HAS COME! I have tried the wishful manuka honey extract cream. I actually really enjoyed using it. As somebody who has combination to dry skin, this actually worked really well for me! It felt hydrating, soothing, and lightweight and it smelled really pleasant. It really did make me feel like I was at the spa. I got the small travel size to try it first, because I've learned from past experiences that new creams can break me out and this one didn't. I applied makeup over it and it worked great, I couldn't see any dry patches that made me self-contious. I haven't had the chance to repurchase it but I did really enjoy it.
I don’t understand using something so harsh like the Clinique one when you have dry skin. Doesn’t make sense to me. I’m not against Clinique. I actually love some of their products like the oil cleanser. I get microneedling done every 6-8 weeks professionally. It’s amazing! But pleeeeeaaaaase get it done from someone who knows what they’re doing. Your skin will thank you.
A friend of mine with dry skin got recommended that toner by someone working in the store. Sometimes people just don't know what to look for. Thankfully she knows that I'm into skin care and asked me what I thought and I told her to stop using it immedietly.
Saying the ingredients are ones that Hiram hates makes me want to use them honestly. I used to really enjoy these types of videos, but now I just feel like we are being so judgy. If something works for one person, and they have tried others with not great results, then it makes sense they would keep using the product that works for them. And Clinique isn’t the old lady skincare - that honor goes to Elizabeth Arden. Clinique is the skincare of Gen X, and we ain’t no old ladies.
Thank you for putting into words what I was thinking! LOL I used to really like Hyram then he started going really over the top exaggerating his reactions.....then he started putting filters on his videos. And then of course I realized that he was continually going against his own recommendations when it came to getting sponsorships (glow recipe comes to mind) and I was just done. I get that people basically just watch him for his quirky, fun personality but he's begun to have a huge influence on what people buy (for 8-12 months there was almost no CeraVe left on shelves around me because he recommends them as a fragrance free brand) and I think that's pretty dangerous considering he has absolutely no training in anything related to skincare he was just a Youth To The People salesman before his youtube blew up. And as a borderline GenX/Millenial who definitely used the 3 step Clinique as a teenager I also bristle a little when people tell me that brand is the epitome of an old lady skincare brand. Most of their products don't work for me (their Vit C and Retinol boosters are the bomb though) but they obviously work for a lot of people or they wouldn't still be in business!
@@Halfmoonbae I agree - Clinique is pretty boring. I haven’t used their stuff in years. And continued animal testing is not okay. I’m 45, and I used it in college. It was my only option for non-drugstore makeup in the small city I grew up in. Clinique and Lancôme - and Lancôme seemed to sophisticated for a badly dressed college student like me!
Literally that, I used to like Hiram in the beginning but he got soo judgy it became off-putting, especially when he has no formal education in skincare. The way people worship him is weird, especially Cassandra, who actually has the relevant education. As for the Clinique, this toner also cleared up my acne, if it works for your skin, it works, recommendations for something new are always appreciated but this Clinique tantrum was so unnecessary and judgy.
10:10 I’m so glad to see Cassandra recommend Pyunkang Yui! I love their toner! I got a big bottle of it last year for my boyfriend when I was setting him up with skincare… he went thru the entire bottle and loved it 💕
Day 2 of BEGGING Cassandra to do a video on the Caveman Regimen Oh, and while I'm here, there's a thingy I've heard: your skin (and scalp) can't actually manually adjust its oil production, and that your skin can't really go into "overdrive" when you wash it more often or with more stripping ingredients. There's a study that explored it that came out with results that conflict with the common rhetoric that just about every skintellectual of all different qualifications believe in. Would be super interesting to hear your take!
It's not a lot, but anecdotally, I have definitely been able to change my oil production. My hair, especially. I would get oily within a day or washing, and within 2 days, I'd get that kind of uncomfortable feeling when your greasy hair sits one way, and you try to brush it out of that pattern, iykwim? I went straight from washing it daily to leaving it for a week straight, and it was so gross, at first... I had to wear a hat or something for a couple months. I'd recommend trying to do it more slowly, if you try it. But, now, I can easily last 2 weeks, if I have to. It doesn't get "greasy," anymore. I even add some oils onto my scalp and hair, and it still doesn't get greasy. I don't think my hormones or skin type could have changed that much over the 3 months of transition. The only thing that changed was I stopped using shampoo so frequently. A similar thing happened when I changed my face washing routine, to include an oil cleanse / double cleanse (and only using micellar water in the morning), but with a less drastic change. I know we shouldn't assume why things happen with our skin, but it... Kinda makes sense, doesn't it? If you're constantly stripping your skin, it's gotta protect itself somehow. We're such a resilient species, to be able to survive in almost every climate on our planet. There must be reasons for that, because most animals don't do nearly as well in a drastic change of environment. But we can.
I'm going to answer you while you wait for Cassandra 😂 the myth is both true and false. If you are washing your face/hair with too harsh ingredients or too often without needing to, you will most definitely get a skin reaction. But it doesn't necessarily mean your skin will produce more oils, your skin can become more dry, dehydrated, flakey, get a rash, a break out, etc. What happens and how your skin reacts to being over stripped depends on the person, their skin type, condition, climate, age, etc. Can not washing so frequently or with more gentle ingredients make your skin/hair less oily? Yes, but also no. If your skin/hair is currently producing more oil due to being over stripped, not stripping it will certainly stop that excess oily production. But it won't stop your oil production as a whole, and it can't make your skin go from oily to normal. The difference is between type to condition. You can fix your skin conditions, but you can't change your skin type, no matter what you do. Your skin type is determined by your DNA, and while it can change through your life (due to climate, age, hormones, etc), your products or washing routine will have no impact on it. All your products can do for your skin type is help you manage your symptoms.
I have the Honey Whip moisturizer and I really like it. It has done a lot of good for my skin. I can't exactly identify my skin type but I think it falls closer to oily. One time I had a moisturizer in an Ipsy sample that I found to be perfect for my skin, but I haven't been able to get a full size and needed something ASAP. That moisturizer is a honey moisturizer and so when I saw the Honey Whip I thought it might be worth a shot and I'm really impressed. I have been through a couple different brands and this one definitely stands out.
Can you do a sunscreen dedicated video, split into a few categories like price, texture, suitable for certain environments, as well as highlight a few main ingredients that we should look for in sunscreen. I live in a hot and humid asian country and struggle to find affordable sunscreen bc of availability. I really love how informative and educational your videos are.
Hey there, I'm from a hot and humid asian country too. During daytime I skip moisturizer. I just use my sunscreen as my moisturizer. This also allows my sunscreen to absorb amazingly into my skin compared to when I used to use both moisturizer and sunscreen in the morning. At night I use moisturizer. This helps save money on moisturizer and sunscreen feel more elegant.
I microneedle at home, but I am extremely cautious and gentle I do it so infrequently for it not to really make much of a difference. It comes with sterilizing tablets and I clean with them as directed and would never use it unsterilized. Also you are meant to apply the serum after not before with mine. And it's recommended to use their toner before of course...I use a seperate red light tool on completely seperate occasions
I liveeee for your channel, your astute knowledge and charisma when explaining the truth about skincare should NEVER be underestimated. Love you queen, you've saved my skin!

Fun Fact: I just found out that in the 18th Century, they used to put Zinc Oxide in their moistures, mostly for hiding signs of Small-Pox (probably scars from when they recovered from them) But also to keep the skin from being irritated. It wasn't White Lead in their make up (They didn't actually do clown make up like looks as that was proven False) but the Zinc Oxide in their skin care products. I found out through Abby Cox on RUclips as she also sites her sources so you can look up what she's talking about as she mostly does Historical fashion and it's History. I figured you would like her video "I Followed an 18th-Century Moisturizer & Sunscreen Recipe & it kinda worked??" (The actual title of the video if you want to look it up), even if you don't react to it yourself it would be fun to see what you thought on it.
What are your top 3 Reusable "Cotton Pads"? I started making my own before I they were available in store. The first few lines available for purchase were awful. I'm afraid to buy more 😅
I use a .25mm dermaroller from kitsch every week. Sterilising the roller with rubbing alcohol and wiping my face with a cotton pad + rubbing alcohol. Then hyaluronic acid serum then roll properly horizontally, vertically and diagonally. Avoiding makeup for at least 48 hours. My skin never looked better 🥰 it’s safe to use dermaroller at home if you know what you’re doing. Please don’t discourage people to learn and have the benefits they can get from it. We don’t have to pay much $ to get the benefits of micro needling
Yes PLEASE! I'd appreciate a video about how to be consistent with skincare routines, and how to start and stick with new skincare habits!!! It seems like im repeatedly starting over - I'll start a routine, keep up with it for a few weeks or months, see SOME SMALL improvements, end up not following through, and eventually go back to bad habits (like going to bed without washing my face, or forgetting SPF in the am, overdoing it with oils, using too many or too little products). Before long I realize I've got to start again at square 1 and I never get to see any of the amazing, trully effective, LONG-TERM results that so many people I see online and in my own life get to experience because i have such a hard time maintaining a consistent routine. Always changing products, adding too much at once, being super on point with my skincare for short bursts but then always falling into depressions where I'm literally doing nothing at all for weeks or months at a time. Ugh! A video on this would be AWESOME!!!
The problem is lots of people cant afford to go to a Derma . so they do it at home . some shouldn't use it . I never use it when I have acne or any other skin issues and only use the shortest needles I have fully researched it and have used it for years I know when not to use it and how to sanitize it.
Dubai is extremely humid, your eye glasses litter lay fog up as soon as you step outside. My skin and hair were striving when I was living there. Love your contents!
I remember buying into the Clinique 3 step routine when I was in my early 20s and I totally saved up for it and I was totally underwhelmed and have not gone back to them
I do need some of this stuff, but the Wishful Rosehip Face Oil, is really nice. Actually I have used a couple other things, it was her first moisturizer and the enzyme exfoliant and not bad. I need to buy those again. They were good.
I would absolutely love to see a video on glycerin-free skincare! I'm allergic to it and its derivatives and it's so hard to find products that I can use and that work with my extremely dry skin!
Ive been microneedling at home for years im 33. I use rubbing alcohol before and after, hyaluronic acid before and after also. Ive had great results. I have had it done in a professional setting and it actually fucked my skin up more. I only use 0.05mm needle.
Same for me ! I let the device damp in alcohol before using it and I also use hyaluronic acid and retinol.. only use or every 3 weeks or so and always had great result
@@mamarogers7423 I’m a picker too, especially my legs… I’ve never heard of this but I’d love to improve that whole situation. What do you use if you don’t mind me asking?
Cassandra please do a video on the esthederm serum. I would like to know if it's worth the price, like does it just feel nice or actually do things to your skin. Also can it be combined with retinol and other active ingredienst, in which order and so on.
The E.V.E. Serum?! I actually purchased it after seeing Huda use it. I actually had to email them to find where to purchase at that time bc the only place I found was sold out everything was in French lol I couldn’t read it. Anyways!! So I would like Cassandra to review it even though I’ve used it myself. I like it it’s definitely very gentle, it does heal skin well. It’s a small amt for a very high price BUT U really only need a tiny amt or else it will pil (not sure how to spell that) however again it’s only good for 6 months. I still had plenty left after 6 months. For Myself using it after facial treatments and to heal picked pimples I’m not supposed to be picking at…I like it. I haven’t repurchased yet. I may or may not. Again I’d love to know what Cassandra thinks as well!! 💗
Hi :) IMPORTANT - beauty bios (the tool she used) microneedling is the only one who is save for at home. It falls under dr. Terry James patent - the man who invented microneedling - it does not divet and it is only a .03 needle. If you follow the instructions given it’s very effective and safe!
I’ve got the Wishful YoGlow gommage (fruit enzyme peeling gel) and it’s (IMO) a good product that is nice to use a couple of times a week. I love it! 🥰
Huda knows what she is doing! I saw her without any make up, and she has very nice, smooth skin. She has very beautiful figure, that she doesnt need to do photoshop!
Cassandra reading and highlighting that sunscreen was"invented in Australia" from wikipedia while constantly repeating "Austria" and "Austrian guy" confused me so much. I love you anyway haha
Derma-roller, under 0.5, i believe are fine at home, they just help better penetration of serums and products. I find my skin to be significantly visibly better the next day after i use a derma-roller. The key is to make sure its properly sanitized and properly done.
EGF were one of the first to come out with that technology so priced it really high. It's a similar thing to skinceuticals.. then the whole ordinary happened and now they look ridiculous.
You will have to pry the Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm from my cold, dead hands! It's my absolute favorite cleansing balm/oil cleanser. I don't get the Clinique hate just for this product alone.

Everything else, is new amd I am so happy for the education you are providing. You are awesome!! Thank you!! ❤
My mother and my grandmother had been pushing Clinique on me for 15 years. I tried it for a bit but it never did anything for me. Recently, within the last couple years I have introduced them to better skincare and they finally moved on and left Clinique in the dust.
Another good one! Can you please make video about skin care lines by doctors that do plastic surgeries? Are they good? For example ones from Dr Youn or Dr Nassif from Botched. Cause it sounds like such an oxymoron :D
Clinique is awesome, I understand hating on the toner, but its one of the only toners I found in a price range that works. Everyones skin is different. I think Clinique has been changing alot lately. I like there probiotic redness solutions cleanser for acne, its stopped my acne. But I also use the ordinary with my Clinique skincare. So Im glad they dont keep changing things, because if they did change the formula I would have to find a new cleanser. Ive tried so many never again. Also this lady has clearly had work done. So if take that into account, who knows what skin treatments she gets on the sides.

Australians always laugh when we’re called Austrians, by the way.💋
Yep I've got Irish freckled skin I feel the same about spf. The best spf is the one you wear everyday as Cassandra says.
@@born_confused agreed!

Acetone??? How do people who grew up before 2000s still have skin 💀

Saaaaaaame! I have the same story with clinique!!!! Plus, I always thought I am oily skinned… no, no, no… I am dry…
I have combination skin and I have a an oil free Clinique foundation, which whenever I am struggling with bad skin like acne, I feel this one doesn’t make it worse but actually prevents to get worse, I wouldn’t write off the whole brand

That Clinique toner reminds me of my most foolish teenage days and when I tried to get rid of my acne by litterally using rubbing alcohol like a toner. My skin would peel badly and the only lotion I'd have to treat the peeling was by bath and bodyworks 😬
I used alcohol on my acne in the past - methylated spirits, stinky....
Seeing that toner gave me flashbacks. Good loooooooooord it was like paint stripper. I already had skin like the Sahara when I was given some at 21 so fortunately I just put it down the back of the cupboard because I didn't know what a toner was. With you on the cheap lotion though.

Clinique products aren't fragranced. That's kind of their shtick.
They sometimes sneak in masking fragrance materials like floralozone and
hedione, though.
It’s so funny how all the youngsters love to hate on Clinique.
@@jenloves4260 I mean hyram is hardly an expert so I really wouldn’t take his opinion over experience of thousands of users and dermatologists ;)
At night a cleanser and moisturiser is enough, though sometimes I skip that too if I didn’t leave the house so I don’t have any sunscreen, makeup or pollutants on my skin lmao
Then if you can, adding one treatment step in between the cleanser and moisturiser is plenty, just targeted at what your skin needs. If your skin is fine, you don’t even need that, but if you're trying to treat something, that’s when consistency is important. I can get away with a day of not leaving the house and not touching my skin, but if you have acne or something, it might be harder.
i love that you say that everyone learns at a different pace and don’t bash or shame but look at the routines from all angles
Microneedling at 0.25mm depth is just going to facilitate product penetration. Obviously it needs to be sterile, but it's otherwise safe. No need for this hysterical reaction to microneedling without differentiating between various needle depths.

The “skin cycling” trend really helped me with trying to fit different actives into a weekly schedule haha
Though I prefer the weekly cycle over the four day cycle that started trending, because that way I always know that sunday is exfoliation day, for example. I keep everything else the same, just alternate things like retinols, exfoliation, things that you shouldn’t mix.
Actually doing it and staying consistent with it I can’t help, but notes and schedules, that’s my thing lmao
@6:37 Tatcha isn’t Japanese. It’s “Japanese inspired”.
What size microneedle do you use on your scars?
@@nicolecarter1072 0,5 to 1mm.
I really have to say the Wishful honey moisturiser is divine - seriously the best moisturiser I have ever used ❤️❤️
I use the same Tatcha Deep Cleanse as Huda. It’s wonderful. It leaves my face feeling clean without feeling stripped.
I just started using it. Love the feeling. Hope to see a difference after a couple months. I have oily acne prone skin.
I also love Tatcha products! Especially their rice powder enzyme ones really work for cleaning my skin
@@findingfrugal2093 I am 45 years old and have been into skincare for longer than Hyram has been alive. I just can’t take him seriously.
I use the derma roller only very gently and not often. I always use alcohol to clean it, I've fully researched about it so I know what not to do.
10:10 I’m so glad to see Cassandra recommend Pyunkang Yui!
I love their toner! I got a big bottle of it last year for my boyfriend when I was setting him up with skincare… he went thru the entire bottle and loved it 💕
Day 2 of BEGGING Cassandra to do a video on the Caveman Regimen
Oh, and while I'm here, there's a thingy I've heard: your skin (and scalp) can't actually manually adjust its oil production, and that your skin can't really go into "overdrive" when you wash it more often or with more stripping ingredients.
Dr Dray also said this when she was reacting to Dak Shepherd and Mika Kunis’ hygiene routine a few videos back. It’s apparently not a thing.
If it's the study I saw, it was done on a few teenagers testing one specific cleanser, which doesn't really answer the question, generally.
She's done a few videos on sunscreen in the past several months. One of those might cover what you're looking for.
@@ToyCircle thanks for the tip! but my skin won’t be able to handle not having any moisturiser on bc it has some dry patches 😭
Just wanted to come here and say that your videos have gotten me addicted to some great products and helped me cope with anxiety :)
Lysm 💜💜
I liveeee for your channel, your astute knowledge and charisma when explaining the truth about skincare should NEVER be underestimated. Love you queen, you've saved my skin!
"If you needed something to keep you up at night, there ya go" rofl!! 🤣🤣 Introducing... nightmares courtesy of Cassandra. Coming soon to a video for you... 😂 Yep, I'm dead. 🤣🤣
I agree you can safely microneedle at home without complications if you follow the hygienic steps. I tried Huda's mascara it's one of the best.
Derma rolling at home is one of the best things for my skin.
I was travelling and been stressed for 4 months. Took a break from you tube as had no time. I've come back and Cassandra is FIRST on my list. Absolutely love you cassandra and ive really missed your videos. Love your content, been a fan for AGES. Preach girl
I love that shirt cass! 😍
The Wishful products are fragrance BOMBS. So much that I couldn’t handle it.
Cassandra! we would love a video on HALO BEAUTY also maybe even the SUPPLEMENTS YOU TAKE for your skin!! love u!!! 🦋🌈
She made a video about supplements a while ago, it should be on her channel
Yes!!! History of sunscreen please!!!!
I remember buying into the Clinique 3 step routine when I was in my early 20s and I totally saved up for it and I was totally underwhelmed and have not gone back to them
Marketing will always get someone that isn't informed. Awareness is key. Education matters.
I do need some of this stuff, but the Wishful Rosehip Face Oil, is really nice. Actually I have used a couple other things, it was her first moisturizer and the enzyme exfoliant and not bad. I need to buy those again. They were good.
That description of Clinique as a brand is super accurate 🤣
I do this same routine about every 3-6 months on my face and legs (I’m a picker), and it works wonders!!
@@mamarogers7423 I’m a picker too, especially my legs… I’ve never heard of this but I’d love to improve that whole situation. What do you use if you don’t mind me asking?
As an aside, i got a clinique ad after your tirade and wow the way i cackled. 🤣
Anal fissures and hemorrhoids are common postpartum, thank you Cass for this “unusual” but applicable solution for women❤️
Glad we got to vent about Clinique. It needed to be done
@@meghanmello5544 here in France it is sold on Sephora, don't know if Sephora sell it in other countries too
Hi :) IMPORTANT - beauty bios (the tool she used) microneedling is the only one who is save for at home.
Because the clip of her highlighting Australian was added in later in editing. When she was filming she said what came to mind, which was Austrian.
Derma-roller, under 0.5, i believe are fine at home, they just help better penetration of serums and products.
I find my skin to be significantly visibly better the next day after i use a derma-roller.
The key is to make sure its properly sanitized and properly done.
Thank you again Cassandra for another great video! Really appreciate your work!
Dubai, despite being desert, is actually pretty humid. What might dry the skin out there would be the AC everywhere.
EGF were one of the first to come out with that technology so priced it really high. It's a similar thing to skinceuticals.. then the whole ordinary happened and now they look ridiculous.
😲
she is so pretty and that shirt is beautiful 😌
You will have to pry the Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm from my cold, dead hands! It's my absolute favorite cleansing balm/oil cleanser. I don't get the Clinique hate just for this product alone.
I'm loving your channel 😊 it will take me a bit to catch up on videos.
I subbed and liked and Very Happy!!!
Thank you So, much!!
I'm not a professional but all I did was study And have delt with skin and hair growth amd other issues.
It's nice to hear from a professional things I had to figure out on my own.
Everything else, is new amd I am so happy for the education you are providing.
You are awesome!! Thank you!! ❤
I do micro needling at home but directed by an aesthetician. I always use rubbing alcohol and only carry out fortnightly to monthly
My mother and my grandmother had been pushing Clinique on me for 15 years. I tried it for a bit but it never did anything for me. Recently, within the last couple years I have introduced them to better skincare and they finally moved on and left Clinique in the dust.
Things in Iceland are very expensive, so I'm not surprised by the price of Icelandic products.
I definitely need the video on doing your skincare routine consistently 😩
Could you do a video on medical skincare brands? I’m an aesthetic nurse injector and my med spa sells ZO, SkinBetter Science and SkinCeuticals
YES! We want a Sunscreen History Video ☀️🔥🤗🤟🏻
