Friendly tip from one hunter to another. To help save from false readings, and unwanted chatter, it's always recommended the first wrap of the coil cable goes OVER the shaft, and not under. If the coil cable starts it's first wrap going under the shaft, once you have the detector extended and angled out in front of the user, that bottom wrapped cable can only be 2 to 3 inches away from the back of the coils internal wiring. I find I sometimes rub people the wrong way, though it's often not my intentions. So thank you again. As for wondering if I've ever seen any difference? Actually, yes I have. It was with a Teknetics T2 detector, and for 3 days I could not get it to be quiet enough to get any real depth out of it, as sensitive was so far down. I couldn't find or hear anything past 4". This is one of Teknetics most powerful prospecting detectors too, so I was sure there was an internal issue with it, until I found an old analog detector user/repair man, who told me to wrap the cable over top and immediately, I could move sensitivity right up and was finding items as deep as 15". It was my 1st Tek too, and I was about to leave a very ugly review on it, until Sam, my old analog fella helped me out. However, he did say that there were folks like you that felt there was little difference, but said, as you did, as long as you live enough slack in the upper part of the cable, in his opinion, it really should go over the top 1st. Not only for that, but with the right amount of slack in the cable at the upper part of the shaft, the coil moves completely free all the way back, and all the way forward, thus ensuring none of the internal wires can are ever be pulled to taunt that they could break internally, which as we both know, is never a good thing. But YES PLEASE ask the folks at Nokta what they say, as I have the Simplex, as well as their FORS CoRe, and their FORS Relic detectors, both are the Pro package with 3 coils too. So if their advice for their machines is anything other then mine, well then, who am I to say otherwise... no? You gave a great descriptive showing of this detector. I just received mine today from Amazon (2 days early) and got it put together easily. My last detector was a basic set up but was still fun for my and my two sons. I decided to get this one after my last one got wet and took an early end. I am fascinated by all the option and settings this machine offers, and I really want to get to understand all of it's functions. The Simplex is a great starting tool, sometimes you usually notice jumps in the signals detected with gold rings unfortunately, for this reason and depending on the terrain it is advisable to remove everything. Congratulations on your channel and video, greetings from Colombia.
You go girl!! Great video!!! What have heard about it on wet sand.. I love in Charleston SC.. Less than 5min from Fort Sumter. Lots of beaches to detect during the summer and lots of little Islands. I want to buy one but don’t want the headphones. I will like to get the cover protector for the simples. Also I get confuse why some people said the simples and other said the simples +.Thanks and great video.
Hi, Simplex+ is the actual name of the detector. You want the basic (non whp) version. Talk Brian Harvey at diggers den www.dddetectors.com/default.asp use code SirenK for free shipping on your entire order. The cover is actual sold by someone else. I will give you the link.
Fun to see the earlier version software - what features I have that the early people didn't (I have 2.78, mine came with it.) Also, I didn't notice that my coil came with the cover already on it. Thanks! I agree, this is a great detector. My first since one I had when my son was young. They've come so far. I already feel like I can be confident finding coins...and really know that "04" iron sound! :-) Thanks again - great video.
Nice video! I got my Simplex+ today, your video is so helpful. I see that you got a charger... I did get a charger. Do you know if this is how they come now?
They should have the cable just not the brick that plugs into the wall. Any modern cell phone charger will work. They had to stop including them because they were causing issues in customs. Glad my video was of help!!! Let us know what you find! xoxo
Oh man! You are one lucky girl! Congrats on the field team spot! How are ya liking it so far?? Anfibio living up too your satisfaction? Can't wait too see what ya find using the simplex also
Thanks! There were updates after this video. Check out my other Simplex videos which show these. You are correct the newer versions have 2 park modes and other features.
All new ones will come with. Ask your dealer to make sure it has the latest software. Brian Harvey at Diggers Den can hook you up. Tell him Siren Kimmie ya ;)
Never have I seen one in the water with child and parents.I believe the simplex + is the perfect inter level detector for youth and adults alike.Because it puts underwater detecting in their price range.
Absolutely. You know the Mini and Midi Hoard machines are waterproof as well. So those are options for younger children. But yes the Simplex is a great youth machine too.
A wall charger adaptor did not come with my Simplex, nor do they show that one is included in their advertising when you go to purchase one .I had to buy mine.
Great introduction video, thanks for posting. I'm looking into purchasing one for wet sand beaches. It looks like the buttons are stiff on the controls, is that the case. Do you know if you can auto ground balance for wet sand and shallow water?
Do a search on beach detecting with the Simplex. There are lots of suggestions for various conditions and tips on how to ground balance. Each situation can be unique. Some gb in field then switch to beach, some detect using field. Some gb to 0.0. But lots are having success on the beach and water for sure. Fresh and salt. The buttons are nicely sealed and waterproof so at first they are a little stiff but soften over use. Keep in mind you are not constantly pressing the buttons. (Just if you use the pinpoint and/or mute).
We have not tested any earphones other than the Nokta Makro green, blue, wired, and the ezwander setup. I am not sure as far as battery life, it lasts for a really long time. If you are nervous about it running low you can use any juice pack with the included USB cable. I have saved soooo much money not buying batteries anymore. It truly does last a long time. I have used it on and off for a month with no recharge, and also done long days and never had it run out. Xoxo
@@cqarizona4461 Yea, I keep one around fully charged in case of any of my USB chargeable devices go flat ;) It's convenient and no money/waste on disposal batteries ;)
If you buy the wireless version it comes with wireless headphones no adapter. If you buy the non wireless version it comes with the adapter for use with your own wired headphones.
@@SirenKimmie Thanks for this clear and easy demo. My Simplex arrived today and I ordered with it a headphone jack so that I can use my wired headphones as well.
Target IDs will vary across modes, environment, swing, etc. Best bet is to get out there and dig everything until you start to learn what things are reading as.
May I ask which PInpointer you use with this detector? I bought the nokta Makro PInpointer and it created massive chatter! Frequency shifting doesn’t solve the problem. Found out my pro-find Minelab works flawlessly with this detector however. I was wondering which PInpointer you use.
The pinpointer you have is on the same frequency as the detector which causes the chatter. I use that one, and I just move the detector away when i am pinpointing.
@@SirenKimmie hi Kim, thanks for replying, unfortunately the pinpointer even creates chatter when turned off. Decided to stick with the Pro-Find. Glad you found a way to minimize the problem though 👍 Happy hunting! 😀
Please make sure you do not have mute turned on. If you are certain that is not the issue reach out to your local service center who can run through troubleshooting and repair if necessary. www.noktadetectors.com/technical-service/
No, only the Nokta Makro green and blue versions. But check out the Nokta Makro EZ Wander. You can use any wired headphones with it. It pairs with the machine and you just clip it on your belt or shirt. Xoxo
Personally I do not use the pinpoint feature. I have developed a habit of quick short swings, then step around to the side and do the same and this helps to narrow down in a sort of criss section. For me this is quicker. But near the center of the coil is the idea. Xoxo
I really enjoy it. If you are coming off of an AT Pro be aware you will have to learn how this one speaks but well worth learning it. It goes deep and has fast recovery.
Just out of curiosity ,I got my NMS+ yesterday and I noticed the under coil cap wasn't really a coil cover but rather a cap to protect the epoxy fill for the copper windings of the DD, I lifted the cap and can see the white resin, you said in this video Siren yours "came with a coil cover which is nice" was it really a coil cover or just a cap? Kellycodetectors is where I got mine and they have coil covers which I just ordered to cover up this really thin cap that came on this coil. It's pretty thin. Just wondering if you can confirm your really did come with a cover or was it just the coil under cap? Thanks great video I saved it in my playlist as it is very easy and simple to follow one of the best in my opinion. Thnx Jerry "The Mining Monkey".
The bottom of my coil is a greyish colored resin. I consider that the "bottom" of the coil and you COULD use it without the coil cover, but I wouldn't any more than I would use any other coil without a cover. But I do see what you're meaning. I don't think you need to add any further protection though. The resin appears to be thick and the cover does a great job. I've had mine out a lot and I'm not gentle .. no cracks or any issues. Keep in mind Nokta Makro has great customer service and warranty so I don't think you have anything to worry about.
The coil is encased in a vulcanized plastic and no coil should ever be exposed. Nokta gives you a free snap on coil cover as a courtesy which gives further protection from extra rough wear and tear.
Many MANY years from now, the battery will eventually need replaced. There are people using Nokta Makro (and other detectors) with this same battery and it's been going strong for years and years and years. If you choose not to have the battery replaced then you can also attach any usb charging pack and run it off of that.
I am not sure if this would pair. Sorry. Maybe as more machines reach customers someone will test that out. I love my NM headphones though they are very lightweight. You may wish to look into them as they are a guaranteed work ;) Thanks for watching xoxo
It seems the plastic latches on these units are fragile and break easily. Mine was broken before assembly and first use. A manufacturer rep seemed to intimate this was a common problem, telling me he was trying to figure out the source of the broken units. Seems I wasn't the only one with this issue.

Great video thanks for your time and skills it's the way we all learn extra points
And the best thing is, we never stop learning! ;) Thanks for the comment xoxo
Thanks for your help.
Excellent video an guide on the Simplex well done thank you!
Thank you! So glad you enjoyed. Xoxo
Nice and Simply Done.. Awesome VIdeo!
Thank you so much!!
Thanks for watching and happy hunting xoxo
Let us know what you find! xoxo
Very well done, excellent tutorial 👍
THANKS! XOXO
Thanks for the great videos. You girls rock!
Thank you Glenn :)
Oh man! You are one lucky girl! Congrats on the field team spot! How are ya liking it so far?? Anfibio living up too your satisfaction? Can't wait too see what ya find using the simplex also
Thank ya lady!! I LOVE the Anfibo. And so far the Simplex is proving impressive. Xoxo
awesome video you nailed it
Thanks!
very good review, not sure if this is an update, my simplex has two park modes
Thanks! There were updates after this video. Check out my other Simplex videos which show these. You are correct the newer versions have 2 park modes and other features.
Other videos I've seen have a park 1, and a park 2. For a total of 5 modes. How do I make sure I get that when I order mine.
But yes the Simplex is a great youth machine too.
nice video. good instruction. Thanx
Glad you found it helpful. Thank you xoxo
This was very helpful, thanks!
You're welcome! Glad I could help! xoxo
Girls Rock Metal Detecting i will, it came early today!!!!!
@@neetomagneto473 Yayyyy!!
Brilliant video. Many thanks.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you so much! xoxo
A wall charger adaptor did not come with my Simplex, nor do they show that one is included in their advertising when you go to purchase one .I had to buy mine.
Yes, you are correct, they no longer come with the machines. The charging cable does but not the brick. They were causing issues with customs.
👍 Nicely done. Thank you GRMD!
Glad you liked it! Xoxo
This will be my next detector. Best video.
Excellent choice ;) xoxo
Nice machine, well described, what more would anyone need! 👍
Thanks so much, glad it was helpful :) xoxo
Good video informative
Thank you! Xoxo
Nice review....what is battery life ? (would be nice if AA batteries could be used for backup) Can the wifi/BT pair with a xbrand earphone? ..Thanks
Xoxo
@@SirenKimmie didn't consider one of the usb bat paks...nice! Thanks !
@@cqarizona4461 Yea, I keep one around fully charged in case of any of my USB chargeable devices go flat ;) It's convenient and no money/waste on disposal batteries ;)
Nice video! Any idea if I can pair my own wireless earbud things?
You would need the ez wander kit.
Great tutorial !
Thanks! Glad you liked it! Xoxo
very impressive piece of kit!
Yes! It's a goodie. Xoxo
Do you not get a headphone jack with that package?
If you buy the wireless version it comes with wireless headphones no adapter. If you buy the non wireless version it comes with the adapter for use with your own wired headphones.
@@SirenKimmie Thanks for this clear and easy demo. My Simplex arrived today and I ordered with it a headphone jack so that I can use my wired headphones as well.
Great info to know. Buying this detector tomorrow.
I love mine ;) enjoy! Xoxo
Nice video thanks. More description of the Target ID value would help me.
Target IDs will vary across modes, environment, swing, etc. Best bet is to get out there and dig everything until you start to learn what things are reading as.
Sembra essere un buon metal Detector 👍👌Ottimo acquisto, saluti Ciao endriu
Sì, è un rilevatore davvero eccezionale ad un ottimo prezzo! Grazie per aver guardato!
Best review. Thanks
Thanks! Glad you liked it! xoxo
Do you have to charge the head phone like the metal detector?
Yes headphones are rechargeable. No batteries needed.Plug them both in over night and you are good to go. xoxo
great unboxing love metal detecting! New subbie
Thanks so much! Appreciate it xoxo
Great watch , just subbed you happy holidays 😁🎄❤️
Thanks so much! xoxo
How do you fix the sound on your metal detector if it doesn't works.
Please make sure you do not have mute turned on. If you are certain that is not the issue reach out to your local service center who can run through troubleshooting and repair if necessary. www.noktadetectors.com/technical-service/
Best wishes from the uk
Thanks!! You too! Xoxo
Can u pair any BT headphones?
No, only the Nokta Makro green and blue versions. But check out the Nokta Makro EZ Wander. You can use any wired headphones with it. It pairs with the machine and you just clip it on your belt or shirt. Xoxo
where do you use as your reference spot when pinpointing to know where it is..where on the coil is it directly under the center or?
\
Personally I do not use the pinpoint feature. I have developed a habit of quick short swings, then step around to the side and do the same and this helps to narrow down in a sort of criss section. For me this is quicker. But near the center of the coil is the idea. Xoxo
@@SirenKimmie thanks for the info
Very nice simplex I love it.how much price
Where are you located. I am in the USA not sure where you are but your local dealer can help.
Here Philippines .Mindanao place
Well done super video
Thank you! Xoxo
Kimmie your Awesome
Hi, so how did it work for you? Looking for another detector after my Garrett.
I really enjoy it. If you are coming off of an AT Pro be aware you will have to learn how this one speaks but well worth learning it. It goes deep and has fast recovery.
@@SirenKimmie Thanks. I have an Ace 400 so I would hope it won't take too much learning.
@@PurposeSpeaker The sounds are totally different. But it's not bad to learn. Just get out digging and you'll start to understand how it speaks ;)
Kimmie you did a n excellent job on how to set up the Nokta Makro !! ♥️
Thank you! Xoxo
Does the rechargeable battery eventually become unchargable?
Many MANY years from now, the battery will eventually need replaced. There are people using Nokta Makro (and other detectors) with this same battery and it's been going strong for years and years and years. If you choose not to have the battery replaced then you can also attach any usb charging pack and run it off of that.
My screen doesn’t stay on. It goes black after a few minutes. Is this normal
You may have your screen set to dim. Did you sort this out yet?
Very informative
Happy I could help! Xoxo
axcelent presentation. Thanks
THANKS!! XOXO
I use a Garrett Z link with some of my machines and wonder if since both are on 2.4 ghz if it'll pair with my receiver headphones.
I am not sure if this would pair. Sorry. Maybe as more machines reach customers someone will test that out. I love my NM headphones though they are very lightweight. You may wish to look into them as they are a guaranteed work ;) Thanks for watching xoxo
Do I use any kind of adapter to charge simplex
The charger that comes with any modern cell phone will work. You can also use a USB battery pack or usb car charger.
It seems the plastic latches on these units are fragile and break easily. Mine was broken before assembly and first use. A manufacturer rep seemed to intimate this was a common problem, telling me he was trying to figure out the source of the broken units. Seems I wasn't the only one with this issue.
I haven't heard of this being a major issue though they can break. Nokta Makro is great with customer service. Xoxo
Nice vid
Thank you so much! Xoxo
