    Shaq played with both Lebron and Kobe plus played against MJ so I think he’s very credible on this topic. Thank you Shaq for owning these guys.

    • @alejandromarmolejo13
      @alejandromarmolejo13 5 лет назад +51

      BullRed94 ok but im talking in general. You can have a basketball player from the 80’s who don’t analyze things well like a player from the 00’s.
      Actually, in this Shaq-Hollins debate, i don’t actually think it matters either. Sometimes when Hollins explained a good point, Shaq just waited until Max responded with something. So... no, it depends on how good of an analyst you are.
      Note: im not saying Hollins is a good analyst lol im just talking in general

    • @bullred9498
      @bullred9498 5 лет назад +364

      All I’m saying is Hollins didn’t play with those guys, he watched, Shaq played with them and against them, that’ll always top any analyzation of what you watched

    • @alejandromarmolejo13
      @alejandromarmolejo13 5 лет назад +12

      BullRed94 yeah i don’t disagree with the fact of Shaq knowing more than Hollins. But my disagreement with the original comment is that sometimes that doesn’t matter. You need to prove or articulate well your opinions to be taken seriously. If you were a basketball player, it don’t automatically means that all you say is right

      MJ played smart with the team and that's why he never stepped down on the finals' pedestal winning 6-0. It's common sense to pick MJ over LBJ. It is MJ's mentality to compete and end up winning in the end. Played the championship years without load management. MJ was focused on winning the championship then all other personal stats are a plus to the ring. Though he had a remarkable mix of personal awards like ROS, MVP, Defensive Player of the Year, Slam Dunk champ, scoring leader in a season, steals leader in a season, and minutes leader in a season. An example with Westbrook winning MVP and Triple-Doubles is still inferior to MVP and Championship ring.

    • @vincemaxim
      @vincemaxim 4 года назад +5

      @elliotx 18 months ? I think its a valid state of mourning when he lost his pops as he said that he lost his desire to play basketball.
      63 and lost? I mentioned he played smart late in his career and not stepping down of the pedestal.
      In 2001? he's really in a bad shape after the 2nd retirement. He's doing it for charity not for any championship chase. He's proven enough with two 3 peats.
      And Lebron needed to jump to another team to win his 1st ring and was laughed at his 1st season in Miami for being beaten by Mavs.

    I totally agree that the new era of basketball is something. However, the era of MJ shaped the game you know now. Also, if you will compare the game now vs. the game back then, it was a lot harder back then because there were few rules that protect the player. You gotta play tougher back then,
    And MJ? Every game that he had, had exceptional highlights. Come on now.. Some players nowadays just manipulate their stats, back then winning was first priority and everything follows.

Lebron will also finish #1 all time in scoring and #4 in assists. Also, MJ played worse every round going deeper into the playoffs whereas Lebron improves. Each round MJ scored less, assisted less and turned over the ball more, Lebron scores more, assists more and turns over the ball less as the playoffs progress.

      The Goat needs to meet these qualifications.
      1. Have the previous stars, current stars and next stars call you the goat. MJ had Magic and Bird say it and everyone in mj career called him that and everyone after plus kobe bryant.
      2. Turn a Franchise around to be winners and not jumps teams who had A+ stars or demand certain players, but make the people on your team better.
      3. Have seasons of crazy win-lose ratio. (The Bulls did)
      4. Teams come up with rules just for you (pistons had the Jorden Rule. Other teams would rather lose to the bulls team and not have MJ be the one to beat them)
      5. Don't do any fake flops (MJ NEVER)LJ did alot
      6. Getting double, triple, quadruple teamed and still making the basket
      7. Only reason to not play a game is if it was an injury/surgery. Which MJ missed 6 weeks from broken foot 1985 and he missed one game in Bulls’ sixth preseason contest in 1997-98 ingrown toenails
      8. You changed the way the game was played.

      Rodman shut prime Shaq down. He would be on KD making his life miserable. Dude was 6’7 210lbs so he wasn’t a big slow guy. He would smother KD. That leaves Scottie who I’d put on Curry and have Jordan on Klay. Warriors could dominate the soft era, but not the 96 Bulls. That squad goes 82-0 with these rules. Jordan takes 30 FTs a game alone to average 50ppg.

I agree with shaq that if all three players today played against MJ in his prime, they wouldn’t stand a chance. No matter if Jordan was double teamed or not. Jordan would dunk or score on anyone despite the odds. Whether it was 1 on 1 to 3 on 1. He’d find his clearance and patience and wait for the right moment to execute

    As great as Jordan’s actual career was, if you change things up and put him in a different hypothetical situation, then he’s going to figure out a way to beat you in the new hypothetical situation. Throughout his career, he evolved his game to be whatever he needed to be.
    If Jordan played in a 3 point era, you best believe he would spend an off-season becoming one of the most elite 3 point shooters in the league. Not to mention that nobody could stop him from taking to the hole in an era when the defense can’t touch him.

    Love it how pumped up Shaq was when Ryan said the name of Harp when asked who's guarding Steph.
    Harp is as good defensively and offensively. He is a big PG who can lockdown Guards his size, and remember... He adjusted his game to focus on Defense because he knew MJ will take care of the load offensively. This dude averaged 20ppg early in his career but he knows his role with the bulls.
