MJ had those stats because he was fortunate enough to come up under arguably the most consistently ideal set of circumstances EVER yes more so than ANY of those players you listed, and most people incorrectly think that's it's all because of MJ.(and yes he ALSO had those stats because I think he's one of the 3 best people who ever lived to ever even look at a basketball). I believe there are half a dozen MT Rushmore greats who could have accomished back to back 3peats, under the most ideal situations, WITH a 2 year REST, same as MJ did. I grew up watching MJ, I love MJ he's my #2 best all around player of all time. He's my #1 pure scorer, with elite defense, player of all time. But I also understand the nuance here. And I see how people act like MJs style of play and his skillsets and his methods are the barometer by which everyone should be measured STRICTLY, and fallaciously, just because the *Bulls'* Finals record is perfect. If one is going to skew the standards, to be measured by, by how MJ did it then of course the GOAT in there mind will ALWAYS be MJ. And after the standards are set correctly and everything is properly accounted for and MJ is still someone's GOAT then great 👍🏾 it can all just boil down to preference, but most people are biased af. Actually MJ is really 1a for me. There's also a 1b and 1c because there's a set of goats who can't really be fully compared to each other due to being in slightly different classes.

Allen Iverson Kobe Timmy was the start of skill in the NBA. Yes there were skilled players in the 90s but few and far when skill is a requirement in today's nba
@@Jleed989 I liked the ‘80’s best. Physical but not overly so. After the late 80’s Pistons, the game got a little out of control. Great personalities and rivalries, though.

Met Rodman once in the airplane, I asked for a photo together ,he was very kind, wish you all the best . He encouraged me to be fearless when I was in high school . What a man !
Back in 1996 me and my friends were invited to Rodman's birthday party at the Chicago dance club The Crobar after the Bulls game & met Rodman, Kerr, Buechler, and Longley. Rodman had an open bar, food, his birthday cake, and champagne.
What others say doesn't matter now,.. He was a legend and will remain so.. 5 rings.. And best defensive Allrounder.. What he did personally.. What he was doesn't bother me... I only love him for his game
Michael Jordan the elder brother who is strict with his siblings, Scottie Pippen the chill middle sibling who is just laid-back but can be serious when he wants to and Dennis Rodman the chaotic youngest sibling who always want to start trouble.
Pippen just took the opportunity to take him down for free, because Rodman wallowed him across a table when he played for san antonio. All the sports talkers were wondering if they would get along on the same team together. That was easy, because Rodman wasn't a ball hog, he'd fire the ball to anyone open, wrist injuring fast, and just score a little when they left him open.
Even so Dennis is the oldest but he look so young despite his looks and his age. He looks brighter than Michael. Michael looks much older back in his younger years.
One thing most people do not know is Rodman was very very strong. He could push anyone around if he wanted to. Moreover, his endurance was elite even after being out all night partying.

People that didn’t grow up in the 90s will never understand. EVERYONE watched and followed the nba. It was what the nfl is today. Bulls playoffs was all anybody talked about the next day, whether kids or adults. Rodman was the man and my favorite player. Gave 100% every second of every game. Lmfaooo casual. He didn’t kill anything on the court LOL you’re acting like he scored 30 a game. He was a great rebounder and defender. “Kill it on the court” is not the correct choice of words when you average 2 points a game. He’s not even close to top 20 😂
@@LaPride247 he kill it on the court! If you played basketball or understood it you would appreciate the kind of effort that is needed to play strong defense and get rebounds
One thing that stands out from Rodman from other enforcers is that he has very high basketball IQ. If you play basketball at any level, you know that there is that kind of player who contributes so much without even scoring
Dennis "The Menace" Rodman, there was a method to his madness. He did all the grunt & dirty work most NBA players don't do today, he wasn't concerned about looking pretty for ESPN or anyone else. That's one of the many reasons why's he a 5 time NBA Champion & 10 time rebounding Champion. My favorite NBA player, hands down!!.
I watched it live when I was like 16 or 17. It was a great game the Bulls werr down like 20 pts and came back to win in OT. Kukoc hit a 3 over Shaq's outstretched arm. Those Bulls teams were flat out Awesome. Leadership being shown by taking down Rodman. Jordan, Pippen and Phil Jackson had so much respect for what Rodman brought to the team as a player.
They knew who their golden goose was on defense. Rodman was going to attack Shaq & no way were the alphas going to let that happen to their best defender.
Best defensive player of all time! He was so good that Jordan was willing to put up with his shit, Pippen had to forget all the beatings, and Shaq has admitted he is the only one who could ever guard him. Enough said, long live "The Worm"
Rodman has passion for what he does in life. I love him for that alone as a human. Seeing Pipen & Jordan tackle him to the ground to protect him, and the game, was true love of the game from all sides. Them standing up laughing makes it pure. I miss the 80's and 90's. We were back to great times, almost.
And for this reason I argue why Jordan cannot be the goat. He had a man like this on his side and pippen, and Jackson and Kerr and Tony. To go up against Malone and Stockton. This man pretty much took Malone out of the equation

SICK! I remember I thought Jackson was out his mind for bringing him to the Bulls, but Rodman made me a believer. The man was worth 20 rebounds a game. He didn’t block shots often because he didn’t have to. And he was about the only player at the time who absolutely did not care what Shaq was trying to do with the ball. Unintimidated and fearless!
I still remember when the bulls were up by like 40 on the bucks or someone and they benched the starters. Rodman got the ball and launched a 3 and made it and celebrated all the way down the court...he then went 0-10 on his next 3 pointers and shrugged his shoulders and kept firing lol. So funny to watch back then
the Bulls really took a huge chance bringing him in for what would become the Second 3Peat alot of people said he was done and no good and the Bulls would not win shit with him but he really worked hard and was a huge role in the second 3peat as far as why the Bulls took him in the first place? oh that's easy after losing to the Pistons in 89,90 Conference finals they knew how tough this guy was and they felt that being around MJ and Pippen would help get the most out of Rodman which it did
I love this era of nba..... We would watch these games back then on rented vhs tapes, and delayed, unlike today, we can watch live via satellite on cables,..my xhildhood friends then would play basketball in the neighborhood, imitating the moves and plays hahaha... Watching from cebu, philippines
The moment where Mike and Scottie dragged Dennis away from Shaq just shows how much MJ and Scottie cared for their team. Even if MJ was a cold-hearted and emotionless man and if Scottie didn't want to play because he was underpaid and if Dennis is just really irresponsible and does anything random, they still won 6 championships together. Well, 5 for Rodman.
Michael was getting Rodman out of a bad situation & I also noticed how it looked like he was trying to protect Rodman’s head while he was going down to keep him from slamming it on the ground.
Dennis Rodman was not in his Prime, he was 34, 35, 36, 37 years old. He was vey good in 1996. But in the 1997 and 1998 Playoffs, he was very ineffective. *1997 Playoffs: Dennis Rodman= 4-ppg. FG-37% and 8-RPG.* *1998 Playoffs: Dennis Rodman= 5-ppg. FG-37% and 12-RPG.* Prime RODMAN ( 2x DPOY 1990 and 1991 ) played vs Michael Jordan. Dennis Rodman was also lucky: he lost two years in a row ( 1994 and 1995 ), despite the fact that he had Prime David Robinson. Let me remind you that in 1994, David Robinson was the league"s top scorer. In 1995, David Robinson received the MVP award.
It's because Jordan believed that helping an opponent up was a sign of disrespect, I guess Pippen learned that from Jordan. Your team can help but if the opponent helps you up it's like they're rubbing it in, like a tea bag. So that was actually Pippen defending Shaq's honor, like don't offer him a hand up that's disrespectful.
in Shaq's rookie year, Jordan was driving the lane and was met by Shaq. Shaq didn't budge while Jordan was knocked to the ground. Shaq offered to help MJ up out of the utmost respect he had for him. MJ declined, got up himself and told Shaq "never offer to help me up." MJ stated before this he was indeed intimidated by Shaq. but by Shaq offering to help MJ up, MJ knew that deep down, Shaq was humble. MJ said the intimidation Shaq brought went away. Shaq later said the same of this incident and he learned by stating "you show respect by offering them none." it's the very words I live by whenever I'm in any sort of competition. basketball, video games, monopoly, whatever. we friends before and after the game. we shake hands before and after the game. while the game is on, get up yourself...don't expect me to do anything but put my foot on your throat if you down for too long. show respect by offering them none.

I’m 42 years old so I’m old school NBA, the 90’s NBA was an intense, a full court offense, inside/ outside game between the point guard and center. Everyone played their position. Today there are 7 footers hanging beyond the free throw line waiting for the ball instead of being in the low post. Dennis was crazy strong, he handled Shaq, Mourning, Ewing( respeck yard man) Barkley. Etc. No one punked him. 7 years Rebounding title in a row, 7 time all NBA defensive player. When it comes to defense he is the GOAT.
There are 0 7 footers in the NBA that hangout at the 3 point line all day. He was probably the better guy to guard in one on one's but I don't think he was a defensive genius that makes other defenders better like Draymond. He was more just focused on his guy only and he was the best at that.

In those 9 years he led on scoring, and was one of the leads on defence. If I'm not mistaking Jxmyhighroler calculated it to be 1 in 4 QUADRILLION of a chance of doing that feat. @@carrot7215 MJ is widely regarded as the best STRICTLY because the *Bulls* went 6-0.

One this is a positionless game now and you're required to do everything. 2, are you even watching game jokic and embiid and Giannis are not hanging out at 3 all day the only guy that tall shooting a lot is KD and he's not even just hanging at 3 all day. You clearly do not watch games buddy.
AMEN
Of course we re old school to brave, to strong, just shot no matter what happened
The fact that Rodman was able to do that to shaq is just amazing, not many people would attempt to do that to shaq.
Exatamente, rodman um marcador foda
Rod is smaller but its a tank, strong as fuck.
Ben Wallace Did Too I’m Pretty Sure
Mid 90s throught to early noughties was ace. Lots of strong dudes. Olajuwon, O'Neal, mutombo, Rodman, Malone. Characters Combined with power and intensity. Great era.
I was laughing the whole time. Rodman's hilarious. Golden Era of the NBA.
Hilarious because he was so good at what he did, and he always did it with so much character no one ever hustled as hard as that man, ever.
He was literally grabbing Shaq and pulling him down 😂 you know Shaq was pissed.
Rodman & Shaq, Rodman & Karl Malone & Rodman & Alonzo Mourning were literally a comedy show. Funniest basketball I’ve ever seen in my life. Those dudes would be PISSED and Rodman just clapped 😂😂😂
I just love how Rodman elbows, knee kick, trips opponent, frustrates players without even noticing ❤
He knew where the ref was and also didn't noticeable also on the camera until you replay it and slow it down .. he was master it 😂 ...
Hahahahahha
Yes, throwing elbows and kicking sure are admirable qualities
Excuse me Mafka
@@c0zmo87 dirty basketball
I was in love with 90s basketball as a kid. I really wish the toughness and heart comes back. It’s still there a little but not as much.
Referees are holding the game back too much unfortunately
@@mckricks1 everything is "sterilized for your protection" these days, unfortunately
Shit ain’t there Anymore
If you want physicality watch football you nerds and virgins
1:54 you can see Rodman knows the game, despite all the playing he do, he don't want to see the big guy get hurt FR. Rodman is a legend and a half.
Wow!
This compilation is a Gem!!!!
O’Neal is the most physically dominant player on NBA history but Rodman is the NBA’s Joker
No knows no fear, and athletic beast and gets under Shaq’s skin making him lose control every time
That’s why he is one of the Greatest 75 players ever
O'Neal was strong, no doubt. Not a good jumper. Rodman was fierce, but the NBA didn't start in the 90s. Chamberlain was the strongest player ever. He played against the Celtics who would triple team him in an era that made the 90s look tame. He had a leap like Jordan and was 7 ft 2 in doing it. He would have thrown Rodman around like a child.
@@keithharris6442 Lmao. Wilt played against guys who were 6’7 on the average. Even Russel was smaller than Wilt. Shaq actually played against Ewing, Robinson, Olajuwon, Daughterty, Duncan and was the only player who actually got to beat Jordan after the Bulls became champions You could make the point the Shaq was not the most talented, cause he was not, he didn’t have the best jumper, he didn’t have the best footwork, he didn’t have the best work ethic and he even didn’t care about staying in shape but about Physical Dominance? Nobody like Shaq. Ever!
@@maxmx767 I understand your opinion. You had 24/7 coverage of your era. You had to see Chamberlain to understand why my generation has our opinions on the NBA
@@keithharris6442 Well brother, I’ve been watching basketball since 1966 when Wilt was the MVP. I’m pretty sure I’ve seen some players in my lifetime hahahahaha
@@maxmx767 we will agree to disagree then, lol
At 2:43 when Shaq goes down, you see Pippen swat Kukoc's hand away from helping him up hahaha
Pippen keeping a brother down 😆
To these guys it was more than a game, it was a battle. No quarter given.
Damn I miss this nba
White guy trying to act like a white guy but black guy did not let him
Lol
2:45 Kukoc trying to extend his hand to help Shaq get up and Pippen slaps his arm away
"No Prisoners"
Yeah i saw that to men they really take it personal I thought that i was the only one who notice😂
@@silverghost4206 Luc Longley?
@@silverghost4206 That was definitely Kukoc
@@DJKARRI219 My apolagies than.
@@jaywells9092 yea, i was refferring to luc longley yes.
I love Rodman, that guy alone was more entertaining that the last 10 years of NBA.
This was the era of the REAL NBA... Rodman will always be in a league all his own.. a pure raw talent and verocity for the game...savage.. I don't even watch todays so called "NBA"..
Me either bro
Okay
Then Jordan retired and and from 99-08 the scores were in the 90s and no viewership
The nba doesn’t miss you because they changed the game…. I saw at least three flops by Dennis lmao 😂
@@B.Piercesports commissioner said most of the money came from Michael jordan and the Chicago bulls
I was so lucky to be able to watch all of those games live and in the moment. Those were amazing days.
Yes the 90s were great. Your lucky. I was born in 93
Yes it was
Lucky ass
@@davidcastanedaYFE For shore! The personalities on the court were monumental. I adore those days! GP, Shawn Kemp, Jordan, Pippen . . . oh, man!
man you really are one lucky dude...we here in the Phils have to be contented with watching those great games on our neighbor's tv set lol.
The way Rodman let Shaq jump up for the ball by himself speaks for itself, that dude was a master at mind games.
People say Rodman is bad at basketball. Maybe by raw offensive talent he isn't special, but he knew how to play to his strengths. He is very smart in that way. Why would he jump ball vs shaq? It's really as simple as that.
Some people hate that.
@@mrbananaman8032 Idiots would say Rodman was bad at basketball.
Dennis in NBA, Greatest Dominant in Rebounds and so Strategical cover back up the Guards in Dfense!!
He was untalented players back then except for mj
I love how Rodman just son’d people as one of the best centers ever.
Dennis Rodman was everything that Draymond Green could only dream of.
💀
He was probably the better guy to guard in one on one's but I don't think he was a defensive genius that makes other defenders better like Draymond. He was more just focused on his guy only and he was the best at that.
Draymond makes and made way more money than Dennis. Face it, times just aren’t like they use to be in everything and people didn’t have to get paid as much to entertain like in 90s.
All things in entertainment don’t compare to the old days. Sports, movies, shows, and music were just in it’s glory days in the 90’s.
Just say you’re a fan of draymond because that’s what I read
2 completely different players in 2 completely different eras.
People just don't understand or know how strong Rodman really was also he had guts and courage and damn sure wasn't scared of Shaq.
Would have been his funeral
@@CatsClaw44 You never know. I've seen a man 6 feet 6 270 pounds bigger and stronger than Gronk even, get his ass stomped by a man barely 5 feet 9 and 170 lbs. Size doesn't dictate who wins a fight especially in the street. Biggest, strongest guy in world drops like a stone when his knee gets blown out.
Dennis had a couple screws missing, if you know what I mean.
@@eac1235 no one factor every dictated anything... but size will ALWAYS be an important factor in a physical confrontation. small dudes have knees too. small dudes don't always know how to fight. get over your complex.
@@Kevinschart Who asked you? You have the complex. Just remember that size for every advantage has just as many disadvantages.
That era was by far the best in the nbas history (imho). There were some other great times, but nothing compared to the absolute wars that went down on the courts between some of the most talented players ever to play the game. Thanks for sharing this.
Great Era but the 80's was the best Magic, Bird, Kareem, Moses, etc. I really miss those guys. The rivalries was intense but now todays NBA is just HORRIBLE!!
