Agreed, and the guys who refused to answer the bell shouldn't feel any shame. How Brian Nielsen even answered the bell for the 4th round after that low blow is anybody's guess. Then he somehow made it through it, the fifth, and the sixth rounds before tapping out. As for Andrew Golota, I hope he fired his trainer, coach, and attendants that tried to force him to continue. It's not worth risking your career or life going back in for round 3 when you know you have no chance at all. Kudos to all the guys that fought on and went out on their own shield though.

You can see from this video how much Mike had changed. In his early fights, he'd beat them then angrily walk away in victory. The expression on his face was of anger and aggression. After prison, Mike appears more calm and at peace after his fights and even helping opponents up. During the fights he was still very violent, very aggressive but once it was over, the anger and aggression was turned off. Mike learned to control himself. He became more personable. My grandfather rest his soul passed away a few years ago in his 90's he was in the Air Force and he was a boxer. They used to hold boxing matches on the ships to entertain everyone. Not exactly sure if it was ships it may have been on land since he was in the Air force. But I know for sure he told me a story about a boxing matches on ships. He absolutely loved boxing and all the intricate nuances. Watching him watch Mike Tyson fight and seeing the joy on his face is something I treasure. He adored Iron Mike he had video tapes of all his fights and always had to have me figure out the VCR for him. Thank you Mike for brining joy to my granfathers heart he was a very very very good man.
What a legend, and also... After many of his fights he went to his opponent and helped to pick them up and give them a hug and respect. We don't talk about that enough. I believe he viewed his opponents in the purest sense but actually wished them no personal harm. Which is crazy considering how ferocious he was.
I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who noticed that. Tyson had a Warrior's respect for his opponent. They had to do battle, but they honored each other in the end. Like Achilles (Brad Pitt) in TROY. . .🤩😑🤜🏾💥🤛🏾🤝🏾💯
Tyson was literally made to box. And it's been really interesting to watch his journey to enlightenment lately. I NEVER expected him to age into the wise man he's become
I am looking at this clip and I believe he always was enlightened but circumstances probably prevented him from exercising his wisdom. Notice how he is even quicker than the referee to help quite a few of his opponents up after their knock down and he literally openly hugs them the minute the fight is done? As brutal as his power as a fighter was, I don't see a brutal man; I see a fair soul with a powerful gift who did his job but seldom relished in it. #lookdeeper
@@raleighkellyc9375 wow he could beat a guy that had been sitting in prison for 3years big difference plus Tyson knocked out the same amount as Evander had in total wins
100%! The guy paid his dues and grew up to be a very responsible and loving man. He made terrible mistakes that don't define him today. He has admitted his mistakes and has genuine remorse for the decisions he made. He was one of the greatest of all time and always will be! Never a dull momemt watching iron mike!
Certainly was. It makes you wonder what might have been had he stayed focused, kept Kevin Rooney as is trainer and the rest of Team Tyson, and continued to deploy the very successful Peek A Boo Style that Cus D'Amato had taught him. The fiasco with Buster Douglas most certainly would not have happened. The matches with Holyfied and Lewis would have been more interesting as well. Not sure if he would have won them but they definitely would have been closer. One of the most impressive aspects of Tyson's style in his youth was how well he moved to the side after slipping his opponent's punches and hitting them with body shots before finishing them off. The style completely disappeared once Rooney was dismissed as his trainer. He became a stationary boxer looking for that one knockout blow. Occasionally, you would see in small bursts. For example, the infamous 3rd round against Holyfield when he bit his ear, he went back to the peek a boo style and was beginning to get to Holyfield before he bit his ear.
Lmaooo, people judge mike, like he threw his life away. Hell no, the man has gone through too much suffering to have his name thrown in the dirt. I’m his prime there’s only a handful of boxers that could even be a competition to him. Ali,Liston,Frazier and foreman.
Ali in his prime vs Mike in his prime. I think Ali would win. Mike only needs one punch but speed is more important than raw strength. They were both heavy weights but Ali was just too fast. Sure if Mike got one shot, Ali is done but I think Ali would be to fast for him. I think Ali would win
@@HowToDrinkWater101 I don't think even Tyson could 1 punch Ali. He survived Foreman in his prime and fought a good chunk of the fight against I think it was Shaver maybe with a broken jaw. Plus Ali was the type of fighter that gave Tyson fits. Tall with a long reach.
I gotta say that after he knocked out his opponents he always showed great sportsmanship and a few times actually helped his opponents up off the mat. Much respect he is a GOAT
That man entered the ring with only one goal. To win. He had to be brutal, fast, and capable of throwing horse kicks with his fists. He accomplished his goal. He will forever live on as one of the greatest and most powerful boxers of all time. Good job Iron Mike. You earned it.
Mike was one of the greatest ever. He was troubled, misunderstood, brutal, and unpredictable. He also was had one of the biggest hearts and after he received some help, he has become a loving family man and has helped many people with understanding mental health issues.

Dude, you've really gotta love Mike. Am I the only one that noticed how many times he helped his opponent up and hugged them? That, my friends, is some good, respectful, and wholesome shit by one of the most vicious and terrifying fighters the world has ever known.
Yeah but did you notice how many times he kept hitting his opponents after the round was over, punching the referee, biting off ears and hitting below the belt? He ain't that respectful.
It was only job to him. No need to hate whatever task you have, just do it to the best of your abilities and when it's done simply collect your pay and go about your day like any civilized human.
Well if the truth be told... Mike was as dirty as they come... if you could watch some footage in slow motion Mike threw his share of elbows!!! Happens so fast it's amazing!!! But agree!!! One of the best ever pound for pound boxers ever to lace up!!!

I'm 18 so I didn't get to witness his rise and fall through his career. But seeing this past and how he speaks and carries himself now is unbelievable and inspiring. To go from nothing and turn your life into everything.
My wife really doesn't like boxing at all, but when I've played some of Tyson's interviews, bios, etc she has said that he's a very humble guy and well spoken. I think what turned his career negative was Don King. Tyson was once asked if he learned anything from King, Tyson replied that he learned what not to do, he had nothing good to say about King. Not surprising as King was a money grubbing asshole.
People talking about the brutal punch by Tyson but no one spoke nothing about how humble Tyson is. Even after the fight he helped his opponent and felt sorry for them, he never hit his opponent as they we're knocked down, he always lifted them up. Tyson is a gem of a person.
I followed all of Mikes fights, I am disabled with CP and always focused on Mikes footwork because my balance was very poor. I love this guy. The way he moved was mesmerizing to me . I would love to be able to sit down with him and talk to him.

@@cesars.henriquezhernandez44 But it is debatable if those world strongest men would have been able to take Mike Tyson while he was in his prime in the 1980's. In fact, Tyson was so strong that, at one point, when Tyson was in prison for rape in the early 1990's, he was caught lifting 300 lbs. on a crow bar. And the man was not on steroids, Cesar. Tyson was the real deal in his prime. He was so real and powerful that no boxer in history has beaten boxers in short period of time in one to two rounds in less than 30 seconds. Tyson should have been in the Guinness book of world records. Think about it!
I remember an admittedly aged but still active George Forman saying, in the early days of iron mike knocking out the entire division "he wanted none of that noise" he flat out told his management no way!
Tyson, holyfield, and foreman. Imagine all 3 in their prime in mma. I know they're boxers, but just imagine them with grappling, leg kicks, elbows, knees, and so on. That'd be horrifying and amazing to see.
I remember getting up at 4 a.m. in Germany to watch his fights. Had a beer and some chips. Usually I hadn't finished the beer before he finished the fight. His speed, strength and fitness are unmatched to date imo. If he hadn't had the personal problems he would have been the *undisputed* greatest of all times. To me he is.
Growing up, anytime Tyson's name was heard on T.V or Radio, they just talked about the negativity of this man. Looking at his fights, you can see the brilliance, beauty and respect for fighting. I don't think that is ever talked about enough. I'm glad he's turned his life around and shown everyone how smart, sensitive and passionate he is about the sport.
when i was in elementary school in indonesia, every time there was a mike tyson fight on tv. the streets were immediately empty, transportation stopped immediately, and everyone watched mike tyson's boxing event at home. it was amazing indeed.
Golata received a lot of negative press for quitting the fight, but he had been severely injured. He had a broken cheekbone, and a herniated disc in his neck, along with the expected concussion. Took him three years to recover and box again. Tyson was just monstrously strong.
Wasn't Tyson's fault he didn't quit. You know what I am saying! I admire every man that stepped in the ring with him. Except for the stupidly cocky ones
I was surprised to see how empathetic he was after a lot of his KO’s. He was humble in many of these victories and would go to help the opponent stand up. I’m sure this wasn’t common for Tyson and maybe just in these clips but I was pleased to see it
When Tyson’s speed is mentioned one thing not elucidated is how by blazing fast he could shift all body weight from left-to-right to set up those brutal punches. It was not all just upper body juice that allowed him to knock guys across the ring. The guy was a master at anchoring himself yet remaining mobile.
The truly crushing power came from his back and his legs. His thighs were enormous from all the movement and footwork training. When he was young, no one wanted to fight him. One of the hardest hitting heavyweights was also one of the heavyweights with the fastest punches and movement. I always thought that was unfair.
The fight with Botha was the prime example in this video. He actually reached out to him and helped try to pick him up. This is one of the few times I’ve seen the videos of him doing this. I’ve always heard he’s a good guy, but hadn’t seen it myself
The young Mike Tyson was a force of nature. A tornado. A hurricane. An earthquake. The most exciting fighter of all time. The combination of speed and power was incredible!
Especially in his prime, the man was simply unbelievable. In 50 years of watching boxing, I've never seen his equal for getting the job done, quickly, ferociously and decisively. He was a wrecking machine, and I always watched the first round thinking, it's also going to be the last round. Was right pretty often. He was special.
I feel like in his prime, he probably could beat down like 20 average men.. I mean before movies and the internet, you would assume he is a God or a demigod.. crazy respect 🙏🏼
Right. I still get a bit angry each time a Tyson critic gloats about the Douglas fight to which I usually remind them that although Douglas is credited with the upset victory, it was in fact referee Octavio Meyran's 15 count that ultimately delivered the knockout blow.
Completely agree. In his prime, I believe Tyson was the greatest heavyweight there has ever been - he would have demolished Muhammad Ali (in his prime). I know critics say he had no jab, etc. but his style dispensed with jabs.
@@peterastley-sparke7526 I agree! Tyson was just too well trained and a complete beast aswell! He would have killed Ali! Tysons speed and relentless fury is unmatched to this day!

Mike Tyson's knockouts were legendary! His power and ferocity in the ring were unmatched. This video is a great tribute to his incredible skill and dominance. Iron Mike will always be remembered as one of the greatest heavyweights of all time.
Mike Tyson is one of the best boxers I have ever seen. His style was amazing. His speed and power were unmatched. In my book he had the best defensive movements with the peekaboo style. At his age now there are not many boxers that can keep up with him. The man is superb. Hats off to Mike Tyson. I wish I could turn back the clock and see one of his fights in person
Well said Kyron Rogers. Back in the days, detractors used to say that Iron Mike was a "brawler". How wrong were they. They were unfamiliar with the style that Cus D'Amato taught this great boxer. His style was quick inside angle blows while stepping off the side of his opponent. The blows were thrown with such awesome power that hadn't been seen. True, Iron Mike relied less on his movements as he went further on his career. His hard-core head hunting prowess began to dominate as his method of knocking his opponents out. He was a fantastic boxer.
That walk out by Andrew Golota was the best thing for him. At the hospital, it was discovered that Golota suffered a concussion, a fractured left cheekbone and a broken neck disc during the fight. Golota left boxing for almost three years after that fight before returning. Imagine the power it takes to cause that much damage.
@@spacemanx9595it's my thought that they didn't care about Andrew at that point. It was all about The Fight. Sometimes these fights can be political and the fighter health can be secondary.
I can’t believe Jake is going for it. Like getting in a cage with an angry tiger and pulling its tail. Tyson takes boxing to a whole nother level, a SERIOUS one. He MEANS IT.
Mike's footwork is impeccable, and so damn fast. A sideways step and a massive haymaker suddenly flies at you from a completely different angle with perfect accuracy and power. Its such a joy to watch. Every punch Mike throws, even the weaker ones, are enough to turn your brain to jam.

Tons of respect for the hard work it took to get him to achieve that level of success. He seems like a blast to hang oit with, but definitely not someone I'd want to piss off.

One of the most misunderstood human beings of all time. I don't believe Mike was ever crazy. he just grew up extremely fast with many people trying to take advantage of him. The heavyweight championship as an 18 year old is a lot to take on. At that age I was just trying to figure out, how I could pass my math and science test so I could graduate high school. This man was trying to figure out how to spend millions at that age, and also being in the public eye. That can be very overwhelmed and a lot to bare. Love you Mike.
Crazy? Depends what you mean by crazy. Deals/delt with mental health issues, 100% positive he has and does deal with mental health issues. He grew up in the ghetto to a single mother. He didn't really have anything good going for him until he met up with Cus D'Amato at the age of 16. Then at a young age he becomes the meanest mother fucker on the planet and life picks up the pace faster then a younger person should be dealing with. He had to learning things at a faster rate then most people it not a surprise he fucked up. I'm not saying he didn't fuck up and hes perfect but I think there's a lot more there to consider. Honestly I think we are seeing him grow more mentally in his later years then most people due to his life. Anyways this is way longer then it should be.

God bless you and your grandfather sounds like a boxer
What a legend, and also... After many of his fights he went to his opponent and helped to pick them up and give them a hug and respect. We don't talk about that enough. I believe he viewed his opponents in the purest sense but actually wished them no personal harm. Which is crazy considering how ferocious he was.
He'll knock you tf out n then pick you up

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who noticed that. Tyson had a Warrior's respect for his opponent. They had to do battle, but they honored each other in the end. Like Achilles (Brad Pitt) in TROY. . .🤩😑🤜🏾💥🤛🏾🤝🏾💯
You can also see Tyson hold his last punch “waiting in the wings” after the final knock down! Tyson physically restrains himself!
Tyson was literally made to box. And it's been really interesting to watch his journey to enlightenment lately. I NEVER expected him to age into the wise man he's become

@@fight4ourright306 I cant see it myself! The muppet harassed Tyson then hit him with a water bottle apparently!
#lookdeeper

He's so freaking powerful but what's really impressive is how fast he is.

With grown men trying to knock him out lol
@@bigmersh2605 and grown women trying to exploit him for his wealth

No-one mesmerized us like Mike Tyson, I still love him.
This guy is much different than a who I thought he was. It's aging ti see how much he has grow mentally. But even more it awesome to see the heart he has. The wisdom he spreads. The love and compassion he displays while standing up for his greatest mentors. Mic is an amazing dude indeed!

Lmao in the first fight they showed he knocked that dude out, and then viciously punched him in the face four more times while the dude was literally in the middle of falling to the ground. 🤣
Unless you talk trash to him or about Ali, he's also the first one there to see if they're alright. He's also a good interview. He's tactful and actually funny.
You pay top dollars, dress up, spend two hours reaching the stadium, Tyson comes and blows one uppercut and match finishes in 30 secs. Moreover, If you accidentally blink and miss the knockout blow then you keep punching yourself on the way out.

I’ve always appreciated that he helped his opponents get up. You could often see him mouth “good fight”, “nice job” or “I’m sorry” , etc. to me while he may be an animal in the ring but he’s especially respectful & I believe has a true soft side
Mike was the best fighter ever to walk the planet. And now he,s such a humble human being. Such an admirable man.
I think we can all agree that he was a POS for years (partly because of his tough upbringing). But he is a living lesson to other damaged people that they can become admirable.
I agree, even tho he kicked the ass of a dumb*** heckler just yesterday...
The heckler got what he deserved tho, in my opinion....
I lost ALL respect for him after the Holyfield ear biting incident, but after his tour he did encouraging people to not follow his steps, and showing how he had been humbled, he gained it ALL back....
MIKE TYSON WILL ***ALWAYS*** BE A LEGEND IN MY MIND....
GOAT....
EVEN MORE SO THAN ALI, AND THAT SAYS A LOT!!!!
If you had said the best boxer to ever walk the earth then fair enough but fighter not so sure.
He didn't just win the fight, he gave an ass-whooping. Some of these guys never got in a ring again.
id say one of the best. holyfield easily beat him twice (yes after he was in jail for a number of years) but just saying he was defeated several times
As a kid of the 80’s and 90’s I can say we missed out on just how awesome this man could have been because of his prison stint. It was an awesome time to have grown up.
Definitely. We had a cheat box so to watch the Tyson fights 😁
It was the same with Ali. He missed his best years.
What did he do?
Would Tyson beat Ali?
He epitomised something that transcends boxing, something like animalistic terror or pure violence. He will always be the Platonic encapsulation of something primal.
Damn what a sportsman. Helping his opponents up when he thought they genuinely might not be okay. Hats off to Mike for that.
yea as the video continued along the timeline he started becoming more humble towards his opponenet...i can't believe he helped the guy who insulted him to get up too i only knew mike for his aggression in boxing... this is wholesome
Most mma does that too now- they wil stop to chin check someone in despair
Despite his public persona, Mike has a gentle, compassionate disposition.
on the timeline of fights it seemed to be after prison, so that changed him
I didn't appreciate just how humble Mike Tyson was back when he was at his peak. I certainly do now.
Read his book if you get a chance. He was a far more interesting and complex person than I ever knew.

@@avijitsingh8159 Hi there, I beg your pardon, but...
You mean if the "animal" (nothing else) that you improperly call "legend"... was that strong, if he was such a perfect ring machine, if he was like a destroyer ... one sad day he lost his his coach and then, without him, he went insane ?
If the sportsman you called "legend" was a really sports athlete, physically BUT ❗also psychically ❗... he should have been and remain a sports athlete FOREVER !
No drugs, no domestic violence, nothing else was to happen.
This is the main and only rule of sport !
But sport, especially boxing or others (where physical violence reigns), unfortunately for many people, has now become an outlet for their missed dreams or failures in life.
