Bro these guys today couldn't compete with Holyfield, Tyson etc. Even Lewis who I wasn't a fan of, but definitely was great. They would have beat the piss out of Fury and Wilder especially lol. These guys today in the heavy division are bums. Either don't have the grit, or skills, or natural ability. All the real heavyweight athletes are going to football, basketball etc. Not boxing. So we're left with guys like Wilder, Fury fat Ruiz etc
Mannnnn I cried like a baby when they stopped that fight..... A 13 yr old kid seeing his favorite boxer go down.... The baddest man on the planet unable to continue. That hurt
Evander took several punches that would have knocked out any other fighter!! He took those punches and gave them right back to the most dangerous puncher ever!!! What a fight!!!!
Mike was a combination puncher. Almost everyone he beat he knocked down 5/6 times and stopped by ref. Most dangerous puncher ever no way. And Tyson himself has discussed this. Shavers Foreman Liston would literally KO a guy with 1 punch. Tyson had to throw with devastating speed and combinations once that went he got beat easy.
Heard a name called "SUNNY FUCKING LISTON" Tyson and even george foreman said they were intimidated to that giant and guess what the great Ali defeated that beast twice thats why he is the great
Not really. Well, maybe this fight for sure. But how many Tyson fights were over before they started. Imagine paying $1000+ to watch a fight that lasted 60 seconds. Hope there were some good undercard fights.
Impressive... 13 or 14 hits at the end of 10th round, and another 10 hits before the referee stops the fight. And Mike stood up all the way! Two legends incredible fight.

@@williamgray5491 No, I'm just telling the truth. America hasn't had great heavyweight boxing since the Tyson era. It's all about the UFC now. If you think forty years is old you're an idiot.
I think Tyson knew Holyfield wasn't intimidated by him and once Tyson lost that psychological hold of fear on his opponent it changed the dynamics of Mike Tyson performance. Holyfield was fearless and that by itself crippled Tyson.
I miss old Mike Tyson he deserves and always will be the best no matter how old he is Jake Paul did not deserve to win it was so rigged like if you think I’m right Please like this took me so long
Le problème c'est que vu les coups qu'il se prend et quand on connaît la puissance de Tyson ça se voit qu'il y avait du dopage chez ses adversaires à l'époque et que malheureusement on testait pas les opposants de Tyson.
That night in 1996 Evander Holyfield literally looks a legend. Took everything Tyson had and gave it back. 96 Holyfield could have beaten almost anyone that day. Incredible fight. Makes today’s heavyweights look like journeymen AT BEST.
God how I miss real boxing! Skilled, technical, old school boxing. These guys are supreme athletes. We'll never see boxing return to this level the way things are going right now.

That body/uppercut combo (replayed at 5:13) would’ve killed most humans…. Rendered 99.9% of Mike’s former heavyweight opponents unconscious. I think after he landed that combo and Holyfield kept fighting, Mike knew he couldn’t stop him at that point.
This was the fight of the century. it was worth every dime to watch it. two remarkable talented boxers. you can't really see how big Holyfield is. he's huge.
Now this what you call a fight! A Great era for Heavyweight Boxing, Fans back then didnt realize just how good it was, with many genuine contenders for Heavyweight Champion. It hasnt really been the same since
Man, Holyfield was such a warrior. The guy took on every great fighter in one of the greatest heavyweight eras of all time. He lost some, sure, but dude never backed down from anyone. Hell of a fighter.
Also, Holyfield never gave up. Tyson quit in the middle of his last pro fight. Holyfield would have fought to his literal death before he quit. Absolute warrior.
Also Lennox Lewis and Lewis was like 3 years older than Tyson and Holly field was 5 years older .Mike is one of the greatest ,But lost 3 of His 6 losses come to these Titans along Buster and 2 when Tyson was way out His Prime .
This literally was the beginning of the end of Mike Tyson's career.. Evander Holyfield was Mike's nemesis. And I admire both of them. Mike will always be the champ in my eyes.
@@user-sg8kq7ii3yThe only reason why Buster won was because Mike didn’t train for that fight. But to be honest Mike still won that fight because when he knocked Buster down the ref gave a 14 second count instead of 10 seconds which would have made Mike the winner 🏆
@@kephale1 If Mike didn't train, then that's his fault, and he deserved to get demolished like he did. If an NFL team gets to the SuperBowl, and they decide not to practice for the big game, and they get demolished, they can't say after the fact, "Well, we lost because we didn't really practice seriously for it." No one will care. People make their own decisions on what they want to do with their time. And they live with the consequences.
@@kephale1 Also, you, obviously, don't understand boxing at all. The referee gives a 10-COUNT. A 10 COUNT is NOT THE SAME as 10 SECONDS. Also, the referee's COUNT is the official count. So all Buster is obligated to do is to follow the referee's COUNT, and get up before the count of 10, which he easily did. Next, before the referee starts his 10-COUNT, he first had to send Tyson to a neutral corner. Once Tyson is in his neutral corner, only then does he begin his count. Next, Buster was never hurt. Yes, he was knocked down, but he was never hurt. As soon as he hit the canvas, he slammed his fists on the canvas because he was angry at himself for getting careless. A hurt fighter CANNOT slam is fists on the canvas if he's hurt badly. Buster explained it himself that he got careless because he was amazed at how easily he was beating up Tyson. He said he was landing punch after punch so easily, so he actually stopped to admire his work. That's when Tyson caught him. Lastly, Tyson also got a long count when he got knocked down, but, unlike Buster, Tyson was in no condition to continue. He couldn't even locate his mouthpiece. Just needed to educate you a bit. Have a great day!
Just one of those punches from either guy would kill the average man.

Tyson and Holyfield event in round 11 they were still fast and showing amazing boxing skills! When I watched the last fight between Tyson Fury and Wilder, by round 8, they were fighting like 60-year-olds. Boxing back then was amazing!
The two were real mandingos. No joke.

Yeah then what wtf happened in fight 2, he was scared of another beating let’s get it out there, fear makes you do out of character behaviour, there’s a size issue too,who knows, but I saw him bite and miss, try to break Holyfield’s arm, he was looking for the exit watch the fight back you’ll see!
@@patrickisaac5302 you right, Holyfield was clearly superior and Mike couldn't loose a second fight the right way, I guess he had to use tricks not to be KO'd for the record LOL Two consecutive fails would have lowered his myth.
@@doctorone1028 Tyson already at a disadvantage against holyfield owing to the big size n weight difference. Tyson fails to land his blows owing to that.
@@hassananas4944 you are right, and wrong, Holyfield is bigger but Tyson is heavier! Holyfield won the first fight because of his defensive strategy, he was excellent facing Tyson in short distance. He wouldnt give Tyson a chance to blow his uppercut.
@@doctorone1028 i agree. But only add, that holyfield's that ability to keep tyson at arm's length, or successfully block his blows with elbows and fist before it reaches the target , comes from his long hands, which is a natural advantage.

For the first time in his life, Tyson was not the monster, which every one knew him as. For Holyfield he was just a tough opponent, not a monster.

Came to watch this after Mike Tyson and Jake Paul fight. Both did well
This literally was the beginning of the end of Mike Tyson's career.. Evander Holyfield was Mike's nemesis. And I admire both of them. Mike will always be the champ in my eyes.
Buster Douglas was the beginning of the end. Buster showed the world that Tyson was human. Buster showed the blueprint on how to beat Tyson.
@@user-sg8kq7ii3yeh i have to disagree. Buster douglas showed that mike tyson is finally slacking off. Holyfield was truly the beginning of the end
If an NFL team gets to the SuperBowl, and they decide not to practice for the big game, and they get demolished, they can't say after the fact, "Well, we lost because we didn't really practice seriously for it."
No one will care.
Love how violent this fight is. All fights should be like this.
