Finally someone gets it right. I agree with Shaq we should start defining greatest of all time by eras. it's impossible to grade players of different eras there's way too many variables involved it makes it unfair. it just can't be done.
No. The true definition is by the position. As far as eras are concerned, this era is at the NBA's weakest. The mentality is weak, Physically weak with all the injuries and "load managment" that takes place now days. No masculinity, I wouldn't be surprised if we see a gender neutral league in the near future. There is noway a woman could survive in the previous eras of NBA basketball. I can actually see it in today's game.

The biggest problem I have with these What If scenarios is that how biased people tend to be towards whatever player/team they think is better. Like a Wilt vs Shaq situation… whoever you got down as the better player is fine. Just don’t act like they’re monstrously better and like that’s obvious. It’s close! They’re both dominant superstar big men. They could both score points on one another and they could both block each other. It’s fine to have a preference but it’s not like one of those guys is going to beat the other guy 100-0. It’s more than likely going to be competitive and go the distance.
Jordan in his prime vs Lebron in his prime going to 15. Jordan wins all day. The score would be 15 - 5. You don't understand how great MJ really was. The work ethic and absolute murder mentality of anyone that stood in his way. He absolutely would not not until he pulverized the competition to atoms. If he played LeBron in his heat prime. Jordan consistently patched up holes in his game in the offseasons, he was known for coming back and showing he didn't have the same weakness as last season, he'd spend the entire offseason developing a 3-point shoot if he played in this era

@Goat Like True but it's a team game and West's Lakers were out manned against the great Celtics who didn't just have the great Bill Russell, they suited up 7 other HOF players during their run. The Celtics also had the benefit of having the same coach and system throughout. West, however, played heroically and kept the Lakers in those series. One year he even won the finals MVP. West has the 3rd highest scoring average of all-time at over 30 ppg.

The old heads will swear their era was the best, but also acknowledge the modern day has the most talent and skill. Anyone who knows basketball or has played it knows talent > physically 10/10. I think dominating the modern NBA is far far harder than dominating any other era with how many superstar players there are and how many superstars play on the top teams.

Shaq was so big, so strong, so good. He would average 40 a game vs today's centers. Seriously
He was different huge just dominate
@R To stop Shaq you would need to go back to the masculine physical era of basketball.
It sucks to say but like he would still be dominant but not as much lowkey but it would be fun to see him and Giannis go at it but it sucks nba centers have been forced to evolved and now the nba expects even centers to have perimeter skills now
Thats why players like dwight howard declined so fast cause the nba centers were evolving and getting better at offence instead of just rim running like back then
Facts. Look who Shaq played against back then. Alonzo Morning, Mutumbo, Yao Ming, Duncan, Ben Wallace, Amar'e Stoudemire, Dwight Howard in his prime, Jamaine ONeal, Garnett, even Chris Webber held his own when he played center. Centers back then was stacked with real Centers that played physical. Now maybe 2 or 3 that can be consider tough. They rather sit behind the arc and hit the 3 instead of being the paint grabbing rebounds and getting a high percentage dunk.

So do you mean the mj vs LeBron thing or kobe vs LeBron thing?
Jordan in his prime vs Lebron in his prime going to 15. Jordan wins all day. The score would be 15 - 5.
You don't understand how great MJ really was. The work ethic and absolute murder mentality of anyone that stood in his way. He absolutely would not not until he pulverized the competition to atoms. If he played LeBron in his heat prime. He would absolutely cook LeBron alive.
Imagine Jordan started his career playing in this Era with the current sports science. I'm sure Jordan could have gotten better
I wonder how many uncontested dunks the Bulls would have had if they played the Warriors.
Jordan consistently patched up holes in his game in the offseasons, he was known for coming back and showing he didn't have the same weakness as last season, he'd spend the entire offseason developing a 3-point shoot if he played in this era
WHO CARES????????????
Jordan as he played but in today's league, he's averaging minimum 45 for a career. He'd be getting at least 20 free throws a game.
