    I agree 100% !!! I am using 2 years JBC DR560, 1 year with electric pump, and second year with air pump. Air pump works much better, but today get Hakko FR-301 pistol- Amazing !!! JBC DR560 - all time cleaning and not enough power, always helping with hot air. Now plan to buy FR-410, before many Years was using Hakko FR-808. And FR-301 has 500 celcius range, FR-410 only 450, but on FR-301 450 is enough !!! At work Ihave weller WXR 3, much better desoldering , 120watt, cheap tips, but motor pump was damaged, and it costs in Germany like new FR-301. And Hakko USA makes very strange videos, thanks in color, not in black and white :) Thanks for video !!!

    What can you say about PACE SX100? Have you tried it?

    • @forthosewhodare7325
      @forthosewhodare7325  3 года назад +6

      PACE ST-115 Digital Desoldering Station with SX-100 Sodr-X-Tractor is second to none. Their quality has really improved since the last generation. The ease of use is just simply can't be denied. It is really that good. The heat transfer is very consistent from tip to end. I only wish that it would come with a different style handpiece than just the pencil type. Because not everyone prefers that style, especially if you have to desolder all day every day with it.
      The PACE ST-115 is def my second choice, but it is NOT Anti-Clog as they claim. I would say 9/10 when all the nozzles and filters are brand new and clean, but once it gets a little dirty, it will clog. I say 7/10 when it's been in use for an hr or so. The pump is quite strong but not as strong and sophisticated as HAKKO'S. I wish that they would make it optional for you to set the vacuum pump like how Hakko had theirs. It does have a lot of features but most are just not very useful. Also, I wish they would add a clogging indicator built into the LED Display, so that way you can see just how clogged it really is. It's not needed but it will be nice to have.
      Also, the Miniature hot air pencil that's built-in is pretty useless most of the time. I just hope they spent more time designing solely on the desoldering stations instead and increase the wattage on it a bit more because 120 watts is just not cutting it anymore. It's the reason why Hakko increase their older gen from 140 watts-190 watts and made a huge difference in the performance and very noticeable. And also, make a gun-type handle than their solely pencil-type. Because not everyone enjoys that style handle, esp if you do desolder all day every day and for the price of around $1000 after-tax, you would think that you will have a choice of what style of handpiece you want to use. If you prefer it then it is a great investment, and if not then it is a deal-breaker for some, especially with that asking price and many more reputable companies to choose from.

    Is this better than the JBC DR560? i work on large thermal mass Boards and most of the times the JBC doesnt extract all the soldering and the JBC needs constant declogging.

    Thank you for this review. Do you have any experience with the FR-400 model? Apart from the additional cost, would you know if there is any downside to using the FR-400 over the FR-410? As well as being for general use, the 300 watts of power seems like it would be great for boards with massive ground planes.

    • @forthosewhodare7325
      @forthosewhodare7325  2 года назад +2

      I've used the fr 400 in the past. It's a beefed up fr 410 and with a huge power PSU reserve for the heating core. I might be wrong but last I checked the fr 400 has the highest heating core wattage for consumers grade. If you doing lots of huge ground plane on a daily basis then for sure this is the station to consider. The only downside to the fr 410 would be the nozzle selection. The 410 has a lot more different style to choose from than the fr 400. Other than that, it is definitely superior. It also Hakko flagship
