  • In this presentation several electronic concepts are developed in connection with the TCON board in a TFT LCD TV and the operation of the gate driver. The electronic content of this chip is detailed. Thus we find a bi-directional shift register, a level shifter, a voltage follower and logic gates including NAND. The operation of this assembly requires various voltages either in logic form such as the CPV, CKV, CKVB, STV, STVP, OE, XAO, R/L, U/D signal, or in analog voltage form such as VGH and VGL.

    1. Narration flow with right words
    2. Explanation of OE and XAO at the Later end to avoid confusions.
    3. Animation to show image retention.
    4. Basics of Flip flops, Level shifter, signal deformation due to parasitic effect & last XAO signal enables based on Voltage comparator.
    5. For consolidating all names from different vendor TV (LG, Samsung).

very important to learn, it comes from the very basic of seven segment digital display, the shift register that most led tv technician ignore or dont really understand since they can repair most of the problem by blocking or cutting one side connection that disturb t-con voltages and signals when panel is faulty.

Hi! This video series are great! I have grapped so much thanks to you! Only thing that is not clear to me is that, where does the CLK input for shift registers come from? I designed tcon boards but only clock we provide to the cell is coming from Level shifters CLK_OUT1 to 10. And their frequency is not that high. They probably only activated the gates so they are for gate driver. But for source driver, I do not provide any clock in UHD resolution, the cells I desined for utilizes ISP and CEDS signals. No clocks. So I wonder where the clock that is for storing the data in DAC regs is coming from?
