  • The subject treated in this video concerns the source driver chip and its role in the management of data in an LCD screen. The internal constitution of this chip is developed. Several notions of electronics are approached like the flip-flops, the latch, the digital to analog converter and the way the Gamma voltages are used to restore the colors of the pixels composing an image. The operation of these different structures requires various signals coming from the TCON board. The role of the signals STH, CPH, TP, POL, SOE, STB is explained.

I picked up a LCD tv with vertical lines. To fix it, I need some knowledge about LCD tvs. Here you are for help. I enjoyed watching your tubes. It is not easy for me to grab the explanation all at once, but makes me comfortable to start to fix. I think i have to watch Your videos several times. And my suggestion is to make videos about cases of troubleshooting LCDs with your understanding.
    Anyway your job is great!

    Good day,
First of all i love your videos about the working of tv's panels and the circuit boards. Especially the indept technical explanation.
Please keep doing this for tv's but also on other areas.
Could you make a vidoe on how lvds relates to v-by-one and newer panels?
And how can you control a large tv panel with a universal board and what board, cable etc to use?

    Hi.
If one single color vertical line is visible on the display all the time, (rest of the image is normal) at maximum brightness, what exactly is the problem?
In my case, rouhly in the middly of the screen, there is a 1 pixel wide blue very bright vertical line.
    Thanks.

is the block (sr, latch, dac, buffer) used only for one sub pixel then for one pixel you will need 3 blocks and as many 3blocks as the number of pixels on the line ? if so all the pixels are processed at the same time. this is huge to have thousand of blocks to treat one line at a time.
or is there any multiplexing using only 3 blocs then the pixels are processed one after another ?

You made a great video, but the radio in the background is just disturbing and annoying.
Leave the background music crap away, and it will be more professional. you have a good voice
