    As someone from Ireland you did a great job Adam, in showing off our capital city.
    I nearly always cringe when someone not from here tries to explain Irish history. Though by outlining the basics and not getting bogged down on the details, you gave enough info for people to find out more!
    The area you were in is called the Docklands. It was previously where Dublin Port was located before in moved to the mouth of the River Liffey, but was redeveloped 20 years to office and aparatments. Hence why the streets are planned and in a grid layout which is unusal for most of Ireland.
    I often hear Americans describe Dublin in particular, as somewhere taken out of New England so the vibe you picked up in Dublin is shared by many!
    Looking forward to seeing where else you travelled to and ate while in Ireland!

    Tip for anyone going to Dublin use the LUAS (The railway system in Dublin as it can help you get across the city and its very good value).

    Hey, it's been awhile. I was on a journey of self reflection in order to find the meaning of life, and I did. It turns out that it was just liking turtles this whole time! Who would have thought?

    Top 'o the Mornin' to our favorite Bearded Nerd. On this trip he and the GF our on their way to her homeland for a visit. They go and visit New York City, and get Japanese food. Unfortunately due to Airport staff issues, in Belgium, they are forced to make an unexpected stop in the Republic of Ireland's capital of Dublin. Well there the Sega Pluto's handler walks and vlogs while exploring and eating around the city, while giving various tips about EU Travel.
    This is an awesome trip so far. Look forward to more next time. Thanks Adam.

    Great video. You're not quite right about tipping though. It's become much more of a thing in Europe. It's expected in most restaurants.

    My mom and step dad went to Ireland when they got married but I've never been myself. Another place in Europe I'd like to see. Also the homeland of OneyNG, one of my favorite RUclipsrs.

    Last census it listed 1.7 million people still spoke to the Irish language. Now mind you in Dublin known as the Pale which was the strong hold of the English So you might not find a lot of Irish speakers there but if you go out west there’s a lot

    With phones, depends also on technology. If your phone is GSM/SIM card based, and Triband it will likely work. Quadband, even more likely. If it is CDMA and doesn’t support fallback to GSM, it basically won’t work. There is zero, and I really mean ZERO, CDMA in Europe.

    The American flag attracts American tourists, that's why you see it more than the EU flag.

  • @user-gf8px2rk7p
    @user-gf8px2rk7p 2 года назад

    The main reason you see American flags is because the second largest demographic of tourists travelling to Ireland are from the US. (The first is the UK but that flag isn't hung for obvious reasons haha). The businesses in Ireland want to please the Americans and thus hang flags everywhere. Most Irish people would find it very unusual if someone who wasn't trying to get tourists in, hung an American flag up. (Not necessarily in an anti-US way, more so that it doesn't really make sense as you said).
    Great video overall though, very informative :)
