It is a woman. Samantha Sang. Bee Gees wrote it and sing back up. They recorded their own version years later.
Written by Barry and Robin, but just Barry in the background vocals
So beautiful and smooth.💖Mind-blowing songwriting and arrangement. Interesting comments! Thanks so much guys!!
Samantha Sang is the artist’s name. She is an Australian singer. The Bee Gees wrote and sang backup on this song. They also sang their own version but this is the version released which went to #3 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1978
Just Barry and Robin wrote it and just Barry sang background vocals.
Mikeroche....please look up the facts on Bee Gees music before reporting false info.
@@kthor Barry Gibb is basically the Bee Gees. Either way, thanks for the correction, you must feel better now😂🙄
@@mikeroche9986 Yes, I certainly do, & give credit where credit is due! And I'll be the first to agree that Barry Gibb is the mastermind of the Bee Gees!🎵😉🎵
Barry and Robin Gibb wrote this song, Emotion, for the Australian singer, Samantha Sang who of course is singing it here, and Barry Gibb is featured singing the chorus. The Bee Gees recorded their own version of the song in 1994 as part of an album called Love Songs, which was never released, but it was eventually included on their 2001 collection titled Their Greatest Hits: The Record. For the Bee Gees themselves I grew up with their music and remember so well songs from the 1960s like Massachusetts, I Gotta Get A Message to You, Words etc. I love lots of their songs but a favourite from their later era (I've got it in the car actually!) is This is Where I Came In (2001) and it's from their 22nd and final studio album of the same name. The Bee Gees were an amazing, talented band of singers and songwriters and their catalogue of music is phenomenal. Thanks so much for this reaction, guys, take care now and please keep safe. 👍❤
Anne, I would love to have the Bros react to some of the BeeGees' earlier songs you've listed!
But especially, Massachusetts.
@@KandKs_GG Hi Elizabethe, I'd love that too, I think the only early one they've done so far is I Started a Joke, which was from 1968. But yes, the early ones I've mentioned are so familiar and just lovely songs. Others include New York Mining Disaster 1941 and To Love Somebody, in other words, these are all pre-disco songs! 😊😊
Thank you for reacting to one of my favorite Bee Gees songs. The lead was sung by Samantha Sang a female for sure.
As a matter of fact they wrote this song for her and it became a big hit. Later on the Bee Gees recorded this themselves
and it was on one of their albums. Robin and Barry trade off on the lead and it is done beautifully which is why
it is my favorite. I hope you give it a listen if you truly want to hear the Bee Gees do their song to perfection. Barry is the
only one who sang harmony with Sang. The Bee Gees version was on Their Greatest Hits album in 2001.
Apparently they recorded it in 1994 as part of an album called Love Songs but it was never released. As you say, it was eventually included on the 2001 collection Their Greatest Hits: The Record. 😊
@@annemaclean6634 You are correct. I have that CD and it truly is a great collection of their songs.
@@janeenbarker4851 That's great, Janeen, to have that CD, you must get a lot of pleasure from listening to these great songs! 👍
@@annemaclean6634 I do Love the Bee Gees, one of the greatest talents of all time.
@@janeenbarker4851 I know, I grew up with them, starting in the 1960s, they were often on Top of the Pops in the UK, and often at No 1 needless to say! Then of course there was the disco era with all the Saturday Night Fever music and then post- disco! They were so versatile and great songwriters, they wrote songs for loads of singers. For example, I was having a quick look on Google and I didn't realise that they wrote Islands in the Stream for Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers, Chain Reaction for Diana Ross and Grease, the title song of course for the movie Grease - it was sung by Frankie Valli. I love all these songs and of course they wrote many more, their talents were limitless.
So right. I have respect for other genres. The BeeGees deserve and finally got MOUNDS of respect.... several Hall of Fames and lifetime awards! Love them!❤❤❤
I'm so sad that this was your last Bee Gees song...4 months ago 😥 I think next up should be Fanny (Be Tender With My Love). It's a freaken masterpiece!!❤❤❤
You mentioned the Beatles - Beatles don’t come close to harmonising like the Bee Gees - the Bees could easily emulate the Beatles vocals and musicality, but impossible for the Beatles to imitate the Bee Gees vocally . Bee Gees were just different and on another level 🔥🔥🔥
Yeah but the Beatles thrashed them with hit singles.
Guys can you play Fanny Be Tender With My Love, it’s one of their best, I promise. ♥️🎶
Yvonne Elliman recorded 2 of their songs in the 70’s that you should react to. IF I CAN’T HAVE YOU and LOVE ME. Be sure to include Bee Gees cover in the title that help more fans find them.
Love this reaction! Love any Bee Gees. Great song. Thanks guys!
Pls reactor Love so Right and Love you Inside out❤
The Bee Gees own version of the song without Samantha Sang is just as good.Check it out. Great reaction
No question that the Brothers Gibb transcended music genres and taste shifts as evidenced by their being recognized for their songwriting "officially" when they were inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in1994. They also were awarded numerous other writing awards by many countries-- in Europe, UK, etc.-- as early as in Australia when Barry Gibb was 17.
What a beautiful song with Barry singing in the background, great music from back in the day. Thank you for reacting
Bee Gees also wrote Woman in Love for Barbara Steistand
Written by Barry and Robin.
As well as "Guilty" "What kind of fool" the whole album was produced by Barry
@@timetravellingoneGuilty was written by all 3 but What Kind of Fool was written by Barry & Albhy Galuten. The album was actually produced by Gibb-Galuten-Richardson production team, Barry's crew!
The Bee Gees have their own version of this song without Samantha Sang...and it's epic.
Samantha and the Bee Gees knew each other from the Brisbane music scene. Barry's writing is on another level, the line "I cry me a river which leads to your ocean" is incredible. I personally like to think his meaning is that the person being sung about is a heartbreaker and many other past lovers have cried for them, also, to create an ocean. Brilliant
@56music Emotion was actually written by Barry and Robin.
They are hitmakers.
We love em ❤
Have you listened to Bee Gees song, Fanny Be Tender With My Love? It's my favorite Bee Gee Song.❤️💕
Another Top 5 song for the Gibbs. It peaked at #3 and stayed there for 3 weeks. It was held out of the top 2 spots by "Staying Alive" at #2 and "Night Fever" at #1.
Those who "don't like/ didn't like" the BeeGees
.
If you're honest, you have sung along to or have danced (at least slow danced) to their music at some point (when you had a "motive" 😉?)
Next time try "Love You Inside Out" , a catchy one from 1979
Great reaction gentlemen!! Beautiful song 👍
bee gees - fanny (Be Tender With My Love)
Thank you for this reaction today. I just giggled all through it. I have been a Bee Gees fan for ever. I especially like their early music.
Wow... beautiful music, beautiful voice ❤️😍🥳😘
This is great, this one is not BeeGees on lead. Suggest you listen to their version. Barry and Robin share lead.
The Bee Gees were well known for writing songs for other artists and providing backing vocals. Some examples you should check out are Woman In Love by Barbara Streisand, Chain Reaction by Diana Ross, and a lesser well know song, Buried Treasure or Eyes That See In The Dark, both by Kenny Rogers.
Barry co-wrote this with Robin, but only Barry's singing harmony & backing vocals. Barry also wrote the others, with the twins helping on some. And only Barry sang backing vocals on those you listed.🎶
I love you guys - you are right on about my boys. They are true musicians with incredible talent to write lyrics, write music , let alone their magnificent singing voices.
Onde têm Bee Gees, tudo sai maravilhoso! Perfeitos!🇧🇷❤❤❤👋👋👋👋
If she won't dance with you to this, you're going home alone!
Ha, good point Roger!
Robert Stigwood was Samanthas & also BeeGees manager, sp this co-operation.
You guys need to check out For Whom The Bells Tolls. Your mouth will be hanging open!
They did it in the style of the Bee Gees and, of course, the Bee Gees wrote the song and sang some backup, but the primary singer was Samantha Sang. The Bee Gees also have their own version, but this is Samantha with Bee Gees singing in the background. And time for more Bee Gees! Don't let it go too long between you reviews of Bee Gees, please! Thanks for the fun reviews.
It was written by just Barry & Robin....with only Barry on backup vocals.🎶
Bee Gees -" Love So Right"
Their best is nights on broadway
I think Samantha Sang is the lead vocal with the Bee Gees on this one but the Bee Gees recorded their own version later (I believe). Beautiful song and harmonies. Thanks guys for posting and reacting to this one! 🧡
you are correct jules.
Hi Jules, I grew up with Bee Gees music, from their early songs in the 1960s, through to their disco era and then beyond. Such versatile, wonderful singers and songwriters, music for everyone, I think! 😊
@@jowsmith1904 not exactly. Just Barry in the background
Written by Barry and Robin. The background vocals is just Barry
@@annemaclean6634 Yes I remember they seemed to have hit after hit. I also remember Barry's wild hair and of course the clothing back then was fun during the disco years.
The Bee Gees wrote this for Samantha Sang and they are in the background vocals.
Just Barry and Robin wrote it and just Barry in the background
@@TheBrownlj Thank you for that info, Leanne. Listening to it again, I do just hear Barry. :)
Could you do a request for me? The group is called, The Stylistics and the song is called, You Make Me Feel Brand New. Live performance. You will love it. This song is an American classic and one of the most beautiful ballads ever written. Do you grant requests from subscribers?
I grew up listening to The Stylistics and love all their songs! It's almost criminal how they are so overlooked on reaction channels.
I have my favorite, Children of The Night, on my 1970s play list. I love the groovy guitar solo on that one!
@@KandKs_GG Yes, The Stylistics and a lot of groups like them , Motown groups , are often overlooked on reaction channels, including this one. And it’s some of the best music we’ve ever had. I think only the better paying patrons must get their requests honored. It’s a shame because these guys are missing out. I’ve also asked for them to react to Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes and their classic song, The Love I Lost. Or Donny Hathaway and his song, A Song For You. But no luck. I’ve stopped making requests.
@CairoFred yes.
Though not Motown, The Stylistics, as well as others you named, were part of what was known as The Philly Sound, and included others such as The Spinners, The O'Jays, Lou Rawles, Billy Paul, and Miss Patti LaBell to name just a few of the biggies.
To be fair to the Bros, they kind of have to go where the numbers are with their reactions. If not many others second, or even see, your suggestion comment(s), they'll go with the Lots Of Likes rather than the One Or Two Likes.
I think they're already taking some heat for reacting to Disco, Soft Rock, and Easy Listening.
Why, I saw one comment saying they should "go back to their (hard rock/prog/metal?) roots."
I couldn't help thinking, "Dude, have you NOT seen their stacks of early BeeGees (et.al.) reactions???" in response to THAT.
Patrick & George are, if nothing else, very eclectic in their tastes! These guys are not genre limited; it just has to be quality sounds by musicians of the highest caliber, regardless of the genre.
I'm willing to bet though, that they're actually listening to much more than response numbers dictate they react to on the channel.
Fun facts. None of the brothers ever learned to read music.
They always had the music down and recorded and then wrote the song. Barry and Andy were 12 years apart but enough alike Barry said it was like having a twin. He and Andy even had identical birthmarks.
Bee Gees did not get label credits on this song. Listed simply as Samantha Sang.
Lot of people forget the great song they did for Celine Dion, Immortality...check it out.
Great song written by Barry & Mo....in 3 & a half minutes!
Amazing Voices Amazing Song Amazing Bee Gees 🕺
Somente hj soube dessa cantora Samanta Sang...p mim só eram os Bee Gees😮😮😮
Song written by Barry and Robin. Samantha Sang was an Australian singer who Barry had worked with before. The background vocals are just Barry. He wasnt that young, it was around the same time as Fever.
Awesome reaction guys! George could you please do so more and frequent movie reactions, I like your channel and would like to see more of it! :)
The Bee Gees wanted to be like the Beatles in success, and they actually accomplished it!
Hello Neighbors!!! i’m from Augusta Georgia love your reaction
videos .😘
I believe it’s really Samantha Sang, ft. BeeGees and that is Samantha starting. This was written for her by the masters!!
It was written by Barry & Robin.....with only Barry on backing vocals.🎶
Patrick was correct . . It's not a bee gee on this one as lead singer .. they're singing back up. Bee Gees wrote this song for Samantha Sang who is the lead singer that y'all hear. Thnx George & Patrick .. b safe & well .. Peace Out ☮️❣️🤘🏼
Actually only 2 of the Bee Gees wrote it (Barry and Robin), and only Barry was singing in the background...not all 3.
@@TheBrownljRight I saw that too. The point I was trying to make was it's not Barry singing lead. Thnx for Xtra info. Enjoy the day🙂
My Bee Gees forever!!
I love to watch your reactions George and Patrick, you need to check out some more Boston! try the song called Smokin if you wanna get your groove on!
I know you probably won’t see this, but I’ll try anyway. Could you please react to Mariah Carey and her song called, We Belong Together? The official music video. Great song, great beat, arrangement, fantastic vocal. Please…. Thank you.
Not Barry here... It's Samantha Sang. Barry sings multi-tracks of the chorus. Bee Gees wrote the song for Samantha.
Actually just Barry and Robin wrote it. I think they are focussing on Barry because seriously his voice does override Samantha abit in the chorus.
For this track, Just Barry did harmonies. Yes, robin and Barry wrote it. This is documented. His brothers weren't available to do harmony duty so Barry worked with samantha in Miami. For the other version of the song with just the brothers, they all did harmonies and Robin answers Barry's " so where are you now?"
@@AlamoDame7 you will find that whenever background vocals were required for any of the songs for others that Barry produced it was always just Barry, except Immortality I believe. Their own recording of Emotions of course was sung by all 3. Almost a totally different song really,
@@TheBrownlj thanks! I prefer the brothers' version myself. (I suppose timing for the harmony duties played into it, as well as convenience since R was dealing with personal issues across the pond and M was at that time M.)
You guys are the first reactors to know it's Barry singing this song instead of Samantha.
VERY GOOD!! REACT MADDLEY BEE GEES LIVE MELBORE 1989..
Hi guys, I don’t know if anyone has told you but you are both identical 👍🏼
They were singing with Samantha Sang whose voice blended perfectly with the Bee Gees, get the live video and watch Samantha sing it
The lead singer is an Australian singer Samantha Sang who sang lead in this song however she was also a backup singer for the BeeGees.
This song never fails to instantly transport me back to my hometown, Jr. Highschool, 8th grade. Me and my friends used to sing this, I sang Samantha's part.
Bros, this was more midpoint in the BeeGee's career, coming out of their Disco phase.
Samantha Sang was also an Australian artist. Some of her other hits were, You Keep Me Dancing, and In The Midnight Hour.
She had a soft, breathy, ethereal vocal tone that lent itself very well to this BeeGees collaboration.
from saturday night fever soundtrack.
@@jowsmith1904
I thought that but it's listed as 1978, after SNF. Still has the DNA all over it.
@jow smith you're correct. I didn't see the movie at the time, and, not having that purely disco sound, guess I didn't remember it even being in the movie.
It got so much radio airplay after SNF, I never really associated it with the BeeGees' disco era songs.
Thanks for your added info setting my bad timeline straight. 😊
funny thing, it was included in the soundtrack but NOT featured in the movie. I don't think disco inferno was in the movie either even though it too was included on that soundtrack...so everyones right!!! ;)
@@jowsmith1904 well that explains why I didn't remember it in the movie.
I don’t think I've ever even seen the soundtrack.
It is a girl singing. Her name is Samantha Sang. The Bee Gees are backup for her. They also wrote and composed the song. This was a great song.
Written by Barry and Robin. It was just Barry doing background vocals in this one
@@TheBrownljYep....if others would just look up credits then we wouldn't have to continue correcting them!😂
Bros I had to laugh when you said in the beginning, that's Barry!!! I said NOOO that's Samantha Sang, a female!!!
Samantha is an Australian singer. The brothers wrote this for her and sang backing only
This was written by just Barry & Robin....& only Barry's on backing vocals.🎶
Àlso Destiny's Child did this later
1978, after Night Fever
Bee Gees wrote this and sing back up
Written by Barry and Robin and it was just Barry singing in the background
You can't beat the bee gees for harmonies
No you cant except in this one you are hearing just Barry in the background
