Samantha Sang is listed as the artist, but everything about this track smacks of the Bee Gees - everything. It reminds me of "More than a Woman" written by the Bee Gees and one of their most popular songs, but never released by them as a single. Instead The Tavares sang it on the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack and had a top 40 hit. But to me it will always be a Bee Gees song.

Listen to the Bee Gees version and you'll hear all three of them. And they sound fantastic. Where you say it just kept getting better and better? On the Bee Gees version it's like that on steroids with Robin, Barry, Mo coming in and out on the chorus. It's so mesmerizing.
I fell in love with this version, then I heard theirs and played it on repeat. A lot. Each brother sings together and separately throughout like on Nights On Broadway, Fanny, Be Tender With My Love and some of their others I really love. I think they sounded best when they were all featured. For Whom The Bell Tolls features Robin on the chorus, and it's amazing too. Then again, songs that feature one brother are hard to beat like Robin's I Started A Joke, and so on.

@@jodij6280 The Bee Gees were born in Douglas, Isle of Man-- Barry Gibb in 1946, and the twin Gibbs Robin and Maurice, in 1949, then the family moved to Manchester a few years later. The family immigrated from Manchester, England, UK in 1958, to Brisbane/ Queensland, Australia,, landing on Barry's12th birthday. Their formative years were spent performing as a novelty children's act, later a teens' trio of singers. When the boys determined they were spinning their wheels getting nowhere in Sidney, they convinced their parents to move back to England so they could join the last years of the "British Invasion" of pop/rock bands. The boys arrived in early February 1967, when within a few weeks, the same management company for the Beatles, NEMS, signed the talented brothers to a 5-year contract. The rest is music history. I really liked this song. I was about 13. I thought she was Black until the 21st century. I mainly listened to R&B radio at the time and it was played often.
I used to think the lyrics said "I cry me a river, which leads to erosion". I thought she was pronouncing it as "yur-osian" just to make it rhyme. Again, it was the 21st century when I learned it was "your ocean". Information wasn't easy to come by back then and those 70s clock radios didn't have the most high fidelity sound.

Why does every single video have a random clip from the middle of the reaction that’s a couple seconds long and then cuts off suddenly?

It’s the “hook.” If you look above the video, it reads “in this video.” It’s an extremely common practice in video content creation. The content creator, in this case me, will preview you a few seconds of the video to get the viewer excited. That’s all it is, it’s also good for people who haven’t heard the song before to hear an exciting part of the song to even see if it’s something they might like.

@@SalvoG ok but what’s weird is, reaction videos didn’t have this “hook” preview a year or two years ago. It’s something that seems to have started fairly recently, and now you see it on just about every reaction video on just about every reaction channel. Are reactors all copying this preview format from each other? Or is RUclips making reactors have this hook preview by default? Not really understanding how this popped up so suddenly, and how reactors are all doing it so uniformly. It didn’t use to be a thing.

@@evanhughes1510 it’s a good question and I’ll just explain from my perspective: early on when I started this so like a year and a half ago I didn’t start my videos like that. I just decided to after a while actually without doing any research to start doing it. Turns out it’s very useful. Most people decide within the first 3 seconds if they are staying or leaving, so it’s important to show something exciting right away to increase the likelihood they give your video a chance.

Quincentennial song of the late 1970’s. Pure ecstasy.
ps. Do NOT listen to the Destiny’s Child version. Beyoncé completely obliterates the song.

Just wanted to say, if you’re ever inclined to listen to some pure funk check out “If you want me to stay” by Sly and the Family Stone. Great song, great band but then Sly spiraled down with drugs.
