@Penderyn - No, it is about how we see ourselves and how others see us. Sometimes we say or do things that people misunderstand. We tell a joke and others cry. We cry and others laugh.

Just like Barry's falsetto in the 70s, Robin's constant vibrato is unique. It shouldn't work, but it just does. It creates a beautiful feeling of sensitivity and vulnerability. Stunning!!

I love Robins voice. It’s so unique. He is amazing on Massachusetts as well! I loved the early Bee Gees. That stands for “Brothers Gibb.” by the way.. the initials. “Words” is an amazing song with Barry singing. Their harmonies are beautiful. I also love some of their later songs as well. They were good singing separate or together. They had a younger brother Andy Gibb who recorded some songs as well. He has also died. Barry is the only surviving B.G. Some of their live songs are just amazing. I’m not a fan of todays music either to put it mildly. Thanks for this reaction! 😀

Robin was the best voice. He sang this and Massachusetts which is another 60s BeeGees song. Also How Do You Mend a Broken heart, Lonely Days Lonely Nights written by Barry about their breakup for about a year in 1970.
New York Mining Disaster, from the 60s
I've Gotta Get a Message to You about a guy on death row. Run to Me from 1972 was their last hit until 1975. They changed styles 60s then 70s we all know. Because there was a strong negative reaction to disco the BeeGees wrote music and produced albums in the 80s for a bunch of stars. They came back after their brother Andy died in 1988 with the Album was titled One. I like their later stuff the most.

@@nelerhabarber5602Lonely Days Was written about the break up. In an article dated Sept 20 2021 in Showbiz Cheat sheet. The article says that Barry said that about 2 years after the Bee Gees broke up Robin came to see him Gibb said "Lonely Days is about how we felt when we were apart and How Do You Mend a Broken Heart is how felt about coming back together. So while we weren't saying these things to each other, they were writing about it." I've also seen them in interviews saying the same thing.
Lonely Days lonely nights...where would I be Without My Woman. Barry was living with Linda...he was lonely for the group but he survived be a use of her. I'm sure of what I'm writing

I love the 60's Bee Gees, I love all the various decades (sounds) of them. They were able to change and adapt to the times and still remain relevant and iconic...they still retained their sound. Robin did a lot of lead in the 60's. He has such a unique voice. They recorded clear up into the 2000's until Mo's death. There is a lot of music to choose from. They wrote over 1,000 songs and also wrote and produced for other artists. They span 1958 through the 2000's.

They were on Top of the Pops loads of times in the UK, with songs like Massachusetts, Words, I've Gotta Get A Message To You and To Love Somebody. It was Robin Gibb's signature song and it continued to be one of their biggest hits throughout all of their concerts. Robin once said 'I don't sing with my voice I sing with my heart'. Great comments from both of you about ‘what drives change’ within these bands. Yes, in the early days of Beatlemania is was more about ‘what kind of shirt do you wear’ when you couldn’t hear the music over the screams. So many things drove change within every band. I like when you are hearing each other and bring the points home. Good stuff guys!

They were awesome from a young age, just had a different style then when they became known for the falsetto voices in the disco era. They were adapting styles for the times, and slayed it, became the kings of disco.

Patrick you have beautiful tone and I always enjoy hearing you imitate certain parts of songs during your reactions. Do you consider yourself a singer? I really want to hear you sing full on. I think you’d be really good! Anyway. Love watching your reactions. All the best to you and your brother.

It WAS "Barry Gibb's different brother" who often sang lead. Barry wasn't the only singer in the band. All three could sing beautifully and all three composed .There are NOT dozens of covers of this song...NO WAY...NOBODY could emulate Robin Gibb's voice so few even tried. Barry said this was Robin's song and nobody else could sing it, even him.

This was different than what you are used hearing, is because Barry is not singing lead like he usually does. This is Robin, the clean-shaven twin brother. And it was before disco, as well.

Eric Clapton helped them turn around their careers. The felt like they had hit a crossroads with their creativity. Clapton talked them into coming down to his Florida studio, which was in a house on the beach. The change of scenery was just what the doctor ordered for them. They recharged their batteries, and took off again.

Eric didn't own Criteria studios . He just recorded his comeback album 461 Ocean Boulevard there. He suggested to the Brothers Gibb to do the same. That album was 1975 Main Course, which is a fantastic album and did reboot their career, a few years before SNF happened. 461 Ocean Boulevard was the address of the house Clapton and then the brothers rented while recording in Miami. Fanny, from the hit Fanny Be Tender With My Love was the name of the housekeeper at that house when they stayed there.

This is Robin's signature song at concerts. Maybe you should react to one of them, possibly the one from One Night Only in 1997. 30 years after the song was originally released.
The Bee Gees used Robin's voice a lot in the 60's because it was clear the it had the appeal of the audience.
Try to react to Massachussetts or maybe I've Gotta Get A Message To You where Robin and Barry share lead. Or maybe To Love Somebody with Barry on lead, maybe their most iconic and covered song of all time.
