On Silver Machine, Lemmy played the same part as the rhythm guitar, at the 12th fret on the A string and 14/15th fret on the D string. You can hear this clearly on the BBC version.

Metallica had previously recorded cover versions of those songs (to which Lemmy returned the favor- Motorhead has recorder versions of “enter Sandman” and “whiplash”, as well as the Ramones “RockawY Beach”).

Your vids usually make me laugh, and sometimes I learn something. This make me learn something (first 2 bands before Hawkwind), laugh, and cry a little.
The Webster and toads are such killer spots. Because of their history, you'll get artists who could sell out much larger venues, in these intimate yet grungey settings. One time I went to see a metal show at toads that I had won tickets to. I didn't know the bands. The one name I can recall from the bill is atreyu. It was all like semi-screamo, semi-death, speed metal. They had the venue split into a 21+ side and a non restricted side. Except they only sold one kind of ticket. It wasn't like they had X amount of tickets for 21+ and X amount of tickets for the regular side. Well it was a sellout and EVERYONE was on the regular side. It was just one big insane mosh pit the likes I have never seen in my life before or after. Not even did I see a pit like this at slayer. There was a bar on the regular side that sold soft drinks. It got taken over and the bartender had to abandon ship. We were doing stage dives off it all night. That was a really great time. I'm sure the fire Marshall would not have been happy. I can't believe the show wasn't stopped due to the pure insanity and I'm sure there were injuries. Black Label at Webster was one of the best shows I've been to. I saw blind melon at the Webster. I was doing a lot of bad things in my life at that point, similar to what took Shannon hoon out. I was in the very front nodding out hard. Chris thorn kept throwing picks at my head to wake me up. Then after the show I was wandering around, probably looking crazy, and the tour bus was right there. As I was walking by the door opened and it was Chris thorn. He invited me into the threshold and then berated me, from a place of love, for showing up to a show on the same chemicals that ended their lead singers life. That was a life altering moment hearing those words(that I had heard many times before) from someone whom I truly admired and I had felt I betrayed just by being messed up in his presence. These are experiences you just don't get at other venues.
What an absolute legend... Silver machine with hawkwind was one of his greatest in the early days, then of course Overkill!!! Bomber, ace of spades and many more iconic tracks. Motorhead influenced so many bands. They will never be another Motorhead! The father of rock and roll. RIP Lemmy 🎸

Thanks to Lemmy for being one of my first inspirations for me when I started playing bass for the first time his basslines are so fun to play even though some of it is simple but I don't care they're the best riffs and most fun.
