  • In this demo I show you how to draw a lobster using the Sailor Fude de Mannen fountain pen. Creating a lovely little, line and wash, lobster artwork. I draw and paint a cute little lobster for a birthday card and its the perfect subject for the Sailor Fude de Mannen fountain pen. I love having a go at painting and drawing new subjects and this is my first lobster. It was really fun and the perfect excuse to get wobbly with my linework.

Mmmm .... lobster!🦞 Ready for the table. Once considered the poor man's food ( like chicken wings which butchers gave away) ... look at them now. I tend to urban sketch a lot with the Sailors. Extremely quick and easy to clean too ... and I have Carbon in mine.
    Great sketch.

You got that right! Love me some delicious lobster smeared in butter. It amazes me how so many foods used to to be food for the poor is now considered fine dining. Oyster being a big on. Even fish n chips at the seaside is almost 20 pounds now in some places. 🙄

Hi Dough. Nice work. I use the Sailor Fude pen(s) myself a lot for sketching and I like them, though I tend to prefer the blue one to the green, it's a more confortable angle for thin lines.
Since you ask, "fude pen" (FOO-deh) comes from Japanese. Fude means paintbrush, as used in Japan for painting as well as for writing. But as a sketcher who's also a student of Japanese I find it very confusing that they're using this name for this kind of pen, as a fude pen means properly a brush pen, a small paintbrush fitted with a fountain pen body or with an ink deposit, like the various models of Pentel.
