- I love to periodically test out entirely new titles with which I have ZERO familiarity, so here are my thoughts on a few Steam Deck games you recommended. Some of these are recent recommendations while others are Steam games that have popped up in the comments for months at this point. And naturally if you have any new games you think are worth checking out I'd love to hear about them!

I saw the recommended title and knew right away I had finally got what I asked for. Thanks for featuring me again! I'll start queuing up the next one
Bwahaha no problem and curious to see what else you recommend!
As always, excellent video and time stamps!!
Thanks a bunch, scott! I meant to put the Steam links but forgot so I'll have to throw them in later :p
Those are some cool games you showcased. I like this formula of videos because they give me some idea of what to play next. Keep them coming!
Glad you enjoyed them, dude! I love highlighting new games and while it saddens me that I'll never get to finish ALL of them, I still enjoy sampling what's out there and sharing :) Appreciate you!
Wahoooooo! Thanks for the mention and for giving Travelers Rest a go. The tutorial text seems to be new (I last played a while ago now). I can't remember it getting in my face like that.
Wonderful vid as always. Can't wait to give those others a try too. They look awesome. Love your community.
You're most welcome and apprecaite the heads-up on it! Yeah aside from the text boxes I really enjoyed my time with it and am sure I'll be back some cozy evening to soak it in more fully :) Appreciate the kindness, as always, and hey, you ARE the community so thanks for making it a joy to put new stuff out all the time ❤
@YourPlayer2 I have a favor and a question to ask you? Please comment back? 🙏
Have you tried Slay The Princess? For me, it’s one of the most overlooked games of 2023. It’s a visual novel type game, where you start outside a cabin, and a narrator tells you that you have the morally questionable goal of slaying the princess inside, and if you don’t, the world will end. What happens from there is up to you, and while I won’t spoil it, it’s a very well told story. And it’s relatively short, making it easy to complete.
JUST added it to the wishlist but just glancing the trailer I can already tell this is right up my alley!
Some nice suggestions! Traveller's Rest issue with text box over items will be fixed as per the dev in a future update (saw it in a stream where the dev was in the chat live when the streamer mentioned the exact same gripe)! You should definitely do more recommendations like these as I'm sure other viewers sent you more recommended games! Great video and keep up the good work!
Oh I'm glad to hear it- be a shame to have it marred by some UI bugs! Oh I'm sure I will be- given my love of hopping around dozens of titles (and lots of feedback with even MORE) I'm sure I'll be putting videos out like this for a while :) Appreciate you as always, brother
Some awesome games, I had Sphinx on the PS2, I loved the Egyptian setting. Kaze I’ve had on my backlog for too long, your gameplay made my interest reignite again. Great video as always YP2!
Appreciate it, Don! I think you'll enjoy Kaze, particularly if you had any love for the original DKC titles :)
Hey! Glad you enjoyed Oblivion Override, also great job with the name pronunciation :D Slavic names are notoriously difficult for english speakers. Great video again!
I DEFINITELY did and hope to play more soon! LoL I was googling how to pronounce the last bit so glad to hear I didn't butcher it too badly, dude :p Appreciate the kind words and have a good one!
Hey ma dude! Nice video, thank you for the inspirations. Especially sphinx looks like something right up my alley. Haven't had a ps2 back in the day (man I feel old, thanks for that 😂), so definitely something I will check out. I think I can handle the jank. BUT and funny that you mentioned it, my very first playthrough of "soul reaver" is first on my list ;) played it as a kid, didn't understand it but have fond memories. Also if I could recommend a game to you it would be "owlboy". Don't know if you already have played it, it's almost a decade old at this point but it's a fantastic 2d pixel artt adventure with a nice story. Take good care and see you in the next one! Cheers ❤
Yo potato! No problem at all and thanks for taking the time to watch! LoL yeah saying anything happened '20 years ago' makes me feel old :p It's been a while since I've played Soul Reaver (First on the PS1 then on DC) but I'm betting it holds up fairly well. I actually DO have a physical copy of Owlboy! Started it but have not finished sadly. You take care as well :)
@@YourPlayer2 oh nice ! You really should finish it it's really good! Do you still own a Dreamcast? That's one of those consoles I was too poor and unaware (or too young you could say) to own but i played house of the dead with a friend who owned one. Fascinating console. Way ahead of its time.
Hey! 1st time commenting here, and I’d like to say that your channel is awesome!
I’d like to recommend a game to you: since I’m Brazilian, there’s this indie game called Astrea: Six-Sided Oracles, it’s a roguelike dicebuilder (similar to Slay the Sprite), that was produced by a Brazilian game developer called Little Leo Games. Runs great on Steam Deck and it’s very addictive!
Hope you can test this game and you enjoy it! Cheers from Brazil!
Oh awesome and appreciate the kindness Marcel! Looks like you've been subscribed for a while and glad you joined the conversation!
Just looked it up and added to the wishlist but already I'm loving the visuals here- Thanks for the feedback and heads-up and cheers from Ohio :)
another great video! will surely check out kaze
Appreciate it, guy! Hope you dig Kaze and lemme know what ya think!
Great list, thank you! I’d also like to recommend giving “Huntdown” a shot.
Glad you enjoyed it and just added it to the wishlist! Although I'll probably take the leap immediately since it's only a couple bucks on sale right now :p
Absolutely loving Oblivion Override at the moment, just the perfect game for deck. I also just started a game last night called Mothmen 1966 - if you don't know it, it's a kind of pixel art playable pulp fiction comic. Been playing it before bed, which has been perfect, and you get infinite battery life out of it, because it's such a light game graphically. Might be quite a niche title, but I am really enjoying it. Basically a point and click graphic novel with mini-games! The developer has two other games by the looks of it, so will likely be diving in to them once I'm done with this. All three are available as a package too, with a 10% discount on Steam at the moment.
Glad to hear you're digging it too! I do NOT know Mothmen 1966 but just wishlisted it and will definitely be grabbing the demo as this looks right up my alley! Appreciate the heads-up :D
I've got to recommend the coffin of andy and leyley again, it's so good
I've had that pop up a few times in the comments!
I've had Kaze and the wild masks on my wishlist for a while, but I forgot why I put it on there... Looks cool so I guess I should pick it up next time it's on sale.
There's just too many good games though 😅
Still playing starfield, started a hardcore character in Diablo 4, slowly grinding through the later part of Hades... And just put deathloop on my shortlist to play soon because I just finished listening to an audiobook from an author I love (starter villain by John Scalzi) and he specifically mentioned this game as an inspiration and favorite of his from the last few years... And it's been sitting in my library for like half a year I think. Where to find the time and energy to play all these games 😂
Man if you liked Donkey Kong Country back in the day I'm SURE you'll love it!
I'm flirting with Starfield here and there when I just wanna chill out with a game. D4 I like to play with friends but not so much lately with everything else I'm trying to burn through (and a creeping Dead by Daylight addiction :p) Starter Villain? That sounds curious and I liked Deathloop but struggled to stick with it just because it is a DENSE sort of FPS mechanically speaking. Godspeed, I share your struggle, sir XD
Thanks!
You're most welcome, Yog!!
These are regularly on sale and great:
Journey to the Savage Planet
Stacking
Dandara
Aggelos
I actually DO have Dandara but haven't played it yet! I've added the others to the Wishlist though and hopefully I can check them all out someday :)
Not sure if you played Anno mutationem, the last faith, card shark, system shock remake (I think you will really like that one), Tinykin, shadow complex, or Ultros( new just came out today) I played the steam next fest demo and it was awesome.
I've played Anno, Shawdow Complex (though not FOREVER), and Tinykin, but not the others! System Shock is DEFINITELY on my radar but I'll look 'em all up, shortly :)
Highly recommend Usighted. It's a Zelda-style game
Added to the wishlist along with Wonderful 101! Always heard good things about both come to think of it :)
if the demo is still up, then you should try Balatro, Indika, Harold Halibut, Mouthwashing, Chasing the Unseen, Yet Another Fantasy Title, Trash of the Titans & Eclipsium.
Looks like demos up for all of them! Eclipsium in particular looks WAY up my alley as a horror fan and as someone who's drawn to that early 90s PC aesthetic :)
A quick update- I JUST finished the Mouthwashing demo and LOVED it. Thanks so much for the heads-up and should be featuring it in an upcoming video :)
@@YourPlayer2 Glad you liked it! I just found out that it was made by the same developer who made How Fish is Made!
@kungfuakash1 LoL I saw How Fish is Made after I finished and added to my library :p
Holy Dead Cells Batman!!!!
You might like Oblivion Overide with a side order of BROTATOS!!!😁😁😁😁😁‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️
Bwahaha I HAVE played Brotato! I think I featured it in a video sometime last year but honestly I do so many list-style videos it starts to blur together after a while :p
Wonderful 101 is fun on the deck. It's Platinum game
we are sorry, Man😄
Bwahaha not a bad thing- I love hearing about new stuff from fresh perspectives!! :p
