Great video! I love emulating psp, ps2, and dreamcast. A few of my favorites are Super puzzle fighters, NSF Underground, and a lot of others.
Oh those are a blast and run so well on the Deck! Underground and Super Puzzle Fighters are also both on my list, the latter of which I think I grabbed the PSP AND the DS version since I ended up with both back in the day.
Nice video again man :)
Saw Snake Rattle 'n' Roll flash by there... I loved that game. Never could beat it though. I made it all the way to the moon several times but no matter what I could never beat that seemingly immortal foot. Had a lot of fun with it on my NES though, even played it coop with my mom several times.
In general when I do emulate, NES is mostly what I go back to. After C64, NES and (original) Gameboy I left consoles for PC and didn't return until the OG Xbox (and very briefly a PS2 but the controllers hurt my hands).
Thanks, Fin :D Bwahaha I don't even know that I made it that far when I was a kid but always stuck out in my memory- right up there with Dig Dug 2 or Bubble Bobble :p Weird you should mention the controllers- At first I loved the Dualshock 2 more than any other controller before it, but when the Xbox came out I actually preferred it because the staggered analog sticks seemed more comfortable for reasons I can't explain.
I'm always glad to videos about emulation on the Deck.
Glad to hear you like them! I kind of did this one as a test to see if people would like to see discussion on retro titles on the Deck so if people dig it I'll keep 'em coming :)
Nice list! And who knew that Thor on the DS would look good? I went and downloaded it right away to try it out! I'm not a fan of Loco Rocco but I have to say that when you showed the clip where they sing that was pretty funny! Great video and keep up the good work!
Thanks homie! LocoRoco is just sickeningly adorable and it’s backed up by solid mechanics to boot!
Locoroco 1 & 2 the PSP goats!
I only ever played the original! But I'm hoping to finish that, the sequel and also...Midnight Carnival I think it's called? Think it only came out in Europe.
I was playing Zone of the Enders on my Steam Deck just last night! I got this strange urge to jump into it again after not playing it for 20 something years.
Great minds! It had a LOT more going on than I was expecting it to in the story department!
Great list! If you havent tried out patapon, it is a unique one. locoroco reminded me of it's art style. That's my rec.
Thanks, Zero! I actually have a physical copy of...at least the first Patapon but haven't gotten around to playing it yet so I'll add it to the list :)
Pno3 was one of my favorite GameCube
Games it was definitely different!
Oh that’s cool! What was it that you liked most? Was it the uniqueness of the control scheme or something else entirely? Fun to hear from someone who legit loved it at launch!
I loved PN03 back in the day. It got awful reviews but it didn’t stop me from buying and enjoying it. It definitely takes getting used to but keep pushing through and it gets better.
And that's the thing- I feel like there are so many games that don't get their fair shake just because they're not AAA masterpieces ya know? I feel ya- At first I was struggling I'll have to admit but once I started finding the rhythm in the rooms it felt a lot better :)
Nice to see Zone of the Enders on your list. That was the game I bought my PS2 for back in the day after playing it at a friend's house. The seconds one was also released for Steam awhile back but idk if you can actually play that version on the Steam Deck.
It's just one of those games that's always lingered in the back of my mind ya know? Like I know I NEED to finish it some day! I saw that as well and will have to test it out sometime!
Dud, you need to boost up the volume. Nice videos btw.
I'll work on it! Appreciate the feedback, dude :)
Did you set up your retroachievements log in? There are achievements for the first 3 games you mentioned!
Not yet! I'll try to get on it this weekend :)
What’s that Diablo-like game at 12:43 you were previewing in your Outro? Looks cool!
Also, will you consider a Sega CD emulation video? Not sure if you’ve done that platform before, but it’s kind of overlooked and has some great FMV and other games!
Looking forward to trying to emulate Borderlands on RPCS3 and also, Devil May Cry!
That would be No Rest for the Wicked! I did a video about it last week here but the short story is it's a crazy fun (and demanding) souls-like from an isometric perspective with super dense exploration.
I absolutely would! But I don't have any familiarity with the system so if you can recommend some games I'm all ears :)
Hope it works well for ya! SPEAKING of DMC I am having a blast with Stellar Blade and can't wait to see it come to PC sometime!
@@YourPlayer2Thanks for the info! As far as Sega CD, I’ve heard good things about Snatcher, Dracula Unleashed, Ground Zero Texas, and Double Switch. Would be interesting if you ever tried em out!
@MrsBlaileen1 No problem and thanks for the heads-up on some Sega CD games!
@@YourPlayer2 You’re welcome! Hope you enjoy!
ZoE 2 is SO much better than the first. Definitely do that one. Worth finishing ZoE 1 first, though
Well that makes me excited to play both then!
Way forward also has a cool azz aliens game on the DS I’m playing.
Dude I saw that! Want to check out myself at some point :)
Nintendo: foul Tarnished, in search of emulation, embolden by the games, someone must extinguished thy flames.
Bwahaha as an Elden Ring fan I appreciate this tremendously 😂
Are those frame drops or just the way it recorded? Or just my internet lagging lol
Could be because the captured footage is often 60 but the final output of the video project is 59 frames and change to account for my camera settings! But typically you can see the FPS in the top left (very small) of any footage I show running on Deck.
Got a dedicated micro SD card just for my emulation on steamdeck
That's the route I went this time around!
PN03! I remember X-play hated that game haha
LoL I mean, I can definitely see how it could turn people off but I didn't LOATHE my time with it or anything ya know?
@@YourPlayer2 im with you , definitely gonna add it to my steam deck. Just played through the suffering and now on Giants:citizen kabuto. both awesome on the deck
'ick on 'eck
Say what now?
Gamers are tired to Playstore android games as all are now 99% filled with micro transactions. so they are returning to past handheld games PSP / PS2 / GBA / DS :)
I think there's a lot of truth to that! Pretty sure I read somewhere that Gen Z players are turning to older titles more often than jumping on the latest AAA.
I love you......but you are, hands down, the worst at racing in F-Zero. That was painful but still entertaining at least 😂
LOOOL I'm sorry Adam XD In fairness I said I loved it not that I was good at it 😂
@@YourPlayer2it really is super easy to pinball in those early games.
@AdamHoooot Dude no joke!
