French whisky has begun to be talked about in some of the forums, so I'm glad to get your take on this one. Armorik sounds good overall, and you're right. It may just need a few more years to really come into its own. Will have to keep an eye/ear open as further products are released.
You know, there's nothing wrong with a decent basic dram. Affordable, available, easier on the old liver!
Haven't had this particular Glenlivet but for a lighter alternative, or in a summer cocktail, it could work a treat.
Cheers to the weekend, very glad you're finally getting a little summer weather. Mind you, you can have some of ours...we're baking here!
    Enjoy the evening 🥃🥃

I will admit, I prefer 18 - 22. Nothing hotter. It hit over 27 today and I'm not ready for that. This rum cask is just that. Simple, sweet, easy to enjoy. Way easier than all the 60+% I have around here. Those are very hard on the liver. The Armorik is good, and with a bit of age or maybe a small percentage of ex-bourbon it would integrate better. Thanks for dropping in!

Great idea pulling out the run-cask Glenlivet as a summer dram. That might even work down here in Houston. 😛 FWIW I've got beer in the fridge and good sipping rums and tequilas on hand to help get us through summer ... all of that is alongside some lighter/fruitier whisk[e]ys of course. 😉 Cheers!

Nothing fance, but certainly enjoyable in the sun!

I don't buy anything from Glenlivet anymore. I'm having some Classic Laddie tonight and loving it! Cheers...

The Clasic Laddie is much better. This is just simple and sweet. Cheers!

I like the Glenlivet IIlicit Still. It’s non-chill filtered and bottled at a higher 48% abv, but more expensive.

I wish I could buy that. I've heard such great things!

Not a fan of the Glenlivet in general. Try out the Lagavulin Offerman 4th Edition! Delicious! It should absolutely be in a back yard summer party. Glenlivet - this expression - is too sweet. The Lagavulin is well balanced with smoke and sweet! Great video! Cheers!

You've tried this Glenlivet? That surprises me. You generally pick up higher class. It is sweet, but I know if I pour it for the next round of whisky nubes ... people will like it. Odd.

@@WhiskyNeighbour A friend gave it to me! Lol! Whisky nubes do love it and I enjoy having it on hand to share if someone isn't prepared for a major scotch! I hear you!! Go for the Offerman!! 🙂

I learned my lesson about buying NAS Glenlivet's after trying that Founder's Reserve nonsense. I like them in general though. I just bought the 12 YR 200th Special Edition and just today I tried the 15 YR for the first time.
One day I'll try an Armorik, but not until I find it somewhere else because here in BC it's way overpriced.

I like their 15, and I hear good thing about the illicit still. Thus was not bad, just not really good either and very sweet.

Hello Jon! I like Bourbon cask whisky in warmer weather (Glencadam 10!). My latest rum cask scotch is Lagavulin 11 years old Offerman Edition. If you haven’t tried, please let me share my bottle with you. I think this one is a great summer dram.

I'd love to try. Maybe we can find a time I can give back the Laphroaig releases and then try the Offerman. Um, the Kilhomans will not make it back. There was not too much left and ... they were so good!

@@WhiskyNeighbour I am super glad that you like those Kilchomans. No rush on those Laphroaigs either. Please enjoy as much as you want. I will drop by close to Canada Day! Thank you Jon. Cheers to the great weather and Oilers!

i've tried this glenlivet a couple times cuz it's in the 4mini sample pack, and if i had it blind i'd just say it was a rum and not a whisky

    • @WhiskyNeighbour
      @WhiskyNeighbour  17 дней назад

Agreed. It is so sweet I bet I would also mistake it for rum!
